POLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck darling girl. Keep chatting in the early stages if you want to.

Thoughts:
I had a hot shower in the early stages - was really helpful but do it BEFORE you put the TENS on otherwise you've only got to faff around taking it all off again!

Don't fill the pool too full too early or it'll go cold before you want it - the heaters aren't always fab, so leave a bit of room to top up with hot.

Good luck!

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 19:48

Ha I hadnt thought about the main other advantage of a HB in that one can keep up access to MN for longer :o God now I REALLY don't want to go out!!

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 19:49

How exciting, Pol. Finally - you'll be holding a shiny, new baybee by breakfast I wager. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and woo xxxx

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 19:51

Oh and forgot to say Congrats to Scorps in all the laying excitement. Boys are fab, not that girls aren't, but I love my little guy more than life itself.

PerfectDromedary · 04/01/2011 19:52

polleeeeeeeeeeek brilliant! Best of British, old bean.

PollyPoo · 04/01/2011 20:01

Fank you all! Just spoken to community midwife who was v non-plussed about it all! She said ring her back when contractions are lasting a minute and are 5-7 mins apart and she will come out. She said I may find it all tails off so I should just eat and drink normally and go to bed early and rest as much as possible. But I am simply too excited!!

Good point about the tens and the bath/shower Cass thank you. Pool is not heated and only partially filled as we don't have a combi boiler and need to wait for the tank to heat up again. I think Kurt is panicking that baby will be here before he has fulfilled his pool duties. Tis v well insulated though and has a lid so should retain heat well. Well, that is the plan anyway!

You can always tip a kettle/pan of boiling water in to keep temp up. That's what we did through my epic labour! And you don't want it too hot.

How far apart are they now? I know it's hard but I regretted staying up all night in early labour due to excitement. Wish I'd taken a load of paracetamol and glass of red and Headed for bed really. But easier said than done when YOU'RE HAVING A BAYBEE!!!!

Casserole · 04/01/2011 20:08

They're so blase, aren't they! I know she's probably right but honestly, who really manages to sleep? I didn't. I wish I could have done, but nothing doing.

Do you have good distractions to hand? Anything good on telly?

CluckyKate · 04/01/2011 20:09

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod - that is fabuloso news Pol. Thinking of you all the way and looking forward to hearing all about it on the other side!!!!

There is a laydee on the Pregnancy board who's wondering whether she's OK after playing on the Wii so you're on good company Drom

Wonderful news about the blue-bump Score - we can start our very own FESH-footie team!!!
Thrilled for you too Bitey on the scan front - must be such a relief for you Smile

laurielou · 04/01/2011 20:10

You wait all day for one bit of good news....Grin

Scorps a boy!!! How exciting. Does it seem more real now? You're making me wobble about finding out the flava now........

Poll hoo-bloody-ray! You sound in really good spirits, how fabulous. I will be thinking of you constantly & if it helps calmly breathing. I also have many, many candles on the go as there has been a bit lorry smash & the whole of my little town was without electricity for an hour. I was nearly crying that I couldn't get on here to check on you both.

I love days like this in the Deli Grin

Casserole · 04/01/2011 20:11

Just to clarify, I meant midwife blase, NOT Gaga!

Orchid12 · 04/01/2011 20:15

Waaaa - polleeeeee sending you lovely sneezy vibes for the night ahead. Are we allowed to put a wager on what flavour we think mini pol is? I reckon a girl, 8lb 2oz.

Bitey congrats on the first scan, it's a great feeling isn't it.

Scorps I am soooooooo pleased that you had a fab experience. It's all too exciting round here today!

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 20:16

I know, I know Cass!

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 20:17

Just remembered. I spent a lot of early labour killing zombies playing Resident Evil on the Wii bouncing on the ball. Was a good distraction!

PollyPoo · 04/01/2011 20:24

We've got season 5 of House to get through, plus loads of Miss Marple that I've recorded, so plenty good for distraction. Boo now in bed although it sounded like TG had quite a lot of difficulty getting her to calm down! Going to have some dinner in a while - my freezer rammed full of ready meals is finally allowed to be opened.

I JUST WANT IT ALL TO HAPPEN NOW!!!!!

TwinkleToes76 · 04/01/2011 20:29

Ahhhhh, Polly good luck! How exciting! Feel free to keep us all posted as the evening progresses!

Congrats Scorpes on the baby boy news - how lovely.

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 20:30

haha and you wonder where Boo gets it from? No wonder she is excited tho, she could wake up in the morning and have a baby sis or bro already!

Ariesgirl · 04/01/2011 20:33

I'm wagering................................

A GIRL!!!!! Approx 7 lb 10. You heard it here first. Pliz to remember I am a witch.

maswera · 04/01/2011 20:58

Polly!!!!! You're having a baybeeeeeeee

How are any of us going to get any sleep now!!

Can't wait for news my luvver.... xxxx

OkieCokie · 04/01/2011 21:11

I watched Corrie and Have I got news for you in early labour Pol and could not sleep at all. I was watching HIGNFY sitting on my ball and doing the odd bit of hip swaying at 9.30pm and I had my baybeeeee by 1.15am! I reckon a Pol girl, born 2.53am and weighing 7lb 140oz!

Medee · 04/01/2011 21:16

woohoo, how exciting! Pacing for you POls!

Ivegotmrbitey · 04/01/2011 21:38

Very Exciting polly! I also think a girl and she will weigh 8lb 4oz Smile

Lovely new scorps, congrats on a boybee!

OkieCokie · 04/01/2011 21:40

Oh yes scorps sorry I seemed to miss your news! Boys are great!

Scorpette · 04/01/2011 21:51

OOOOH, nearly missed all the excitement! Go Polly, Go Polly! I shall be checking in constantly for updates and will be logging on the second I get up in the morning (well, after my 568th wee of the night, I mean!).

Poor old TYF is really poorly Sad He has a temp of 38.3 - a fever - and is boiling hot and red but feels cold and he is so fatigued and bleeurgh. I feel guilty for doing Quagmire impressions at him now. Can't see the dentist until Thurs. cos the swelling is so bad they can't get to the tooth!

So I need Boo Two action to cheer me up! I also think it's a girl (might as well get TB painting your entire home pepto-bismol pink whilst you're laying, Pol Wink).

Scorpette · 04/01/2011 21:53

PS Thanks for all the lovely congrats from everyone :):):)
