Muser · 04/01/2011 11:14

Thanks for the puke sympathy. Am hoping it is just an early morning/tired/stress thing. I have been a little bit more vommy recently, but oddly not first thing. I started getting this weird thing where I get a pain all across my bump, like it's tightening, which lasts for 30 seconds and then goes. When it goes I puke. It happened in the car a few times, but yesterday was my first non-car experience.

WELCOME BACK LOZZZLES!

Medee · 04/01/2011 11:16

sorry to hear about all the pukeyness.

Good luck for later, Scorps!

Happy ML, Clucky!

laurielou · 04/01/2011 11:17

Clucky Thanks for mentioning one of my fave words - chundering. It always makes me Grin. Like romp Grin.

Obviously though there is nothing funny about the action (chundering, not romping).

Nice work on doing buggar all on first day of ML - surely that's what its all about?

Shopping? In the sales? You must be insane Rocket.

Orchid it was a struggle to get through all those choccies, but like a brave little soldier I battled on (wonders if this has something to do with onset of chundering MS?)

Scorps I'm insanely excited about your scan Grin Pliz to be updating us as soon as you can, whilst its still going on if possible.

Pollster You still there? Need some nipple tweaks?

Mr Loz's step-mother gave us some baby bedding & cot bumpers or sommat. She said we must've bought loads of stuff. We both just sat there looking at this bag & said we hadn't bought a thing, little bit supersticious (sp?). She was sweet & offered to keep it at her house. Then immediately went on line to buy a moses basket! Don't get me wrong, she is a wonderful lady with a heart the size of Devon, but we both felt it was a bit full on. We honestly hadn't thought too much about sleeping arrangements (well, I cleared a drawer out, figured that would do for starters), colours, what we needed / wanted etc. That said we're treating the 20 week scan as the OK to go shopping bonkers.

Keep feeling all kinds of little flutters going on. Don't think its wind. I've been trying to describe the feeling to Mr Loz. Best I could come up with was the excited / nervous feel you have when you're queuing up for rollercoaster in Alton Towers Confused

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 11:18

Oh missed that about ML *CK1" I think doing bugger all on the first day should be the LAW. Must be vey exciting tho as its like another milestone closer to D Day.

rocketleaf · 04/01/2011 11:22

Same here loz re the 20 week scan mark, I haven't bought a thing although I have been doing quite a bit of internet research and planning so I know what I want to get. (mostly off ebay i think!) Also got the flutter here, getting stronger each day, I thought it was wind to begin with as its the same sort of bubbley feeling I get when a guff is brewing (soz :o) but then realised its in the wrong place. hehe quite appropriate that the Sprout feels like a fart Wink

Medee · 04/01/2011 11:29

20w scan was also our go-shopping trigger. Not that we have bought that much yet.

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 12:39

Muse - could that tightening be a Braxton Hicks? Sounds like one to me. Buggr that it makes you vom though - not sure how to get round that one.

Good luck for scan, Scorps!

Is Pol laying?

Medee · 04/01/2011 12:49

I'm having a more productive day at home than I think I would be in the office; letter to the tax office written, and MA application all ready to go (barring the fact I think the payroll girl got the SMP1 form wrong - again!)

ginhag · 04/01/2011 13:06

Hello all, welcome back lorry!!!!!

Looking forward to scorp's flava news :)

Well, apparently baby is head down and not quite engaged as head can still be waggled a bit tho it's right on the edge of pelvis. I know this as I spent morning in hospital after having full-on braxton hicks every 15 mins or so all night! Was somewhat unnerving. Still getting them pretty often now but apparently cervix still closed and am not looking like am about to go into labour (they did a magic swab which can predict these things.) BP is up a bit by my standards but not outside normal person range (am normally quite low.)

So, first day back, massive meeting on thursday, I haven't slept and my tummy keeps turning into a rock. My body is bleedin' ridiculous! Rib still buggered as well, but that is the norm so no news there.

Maybe I have been having sympathy stuff with poopy or something. Am rather relieved its not the start of labour, tho it would be nice to know why it is happening

ginhag · 04/01/2011 13:08

ps muse I diagnose that your baybee is allergic to your workplace and thus you should stay away from there :)

So sorry you are barfing again. I agree that it sounds like you're getting BH tho...

Medee · 04/01/2011 13:27

good news that the head is down, Gin, and labour is not imminent.

I was getting some massive kicks and headbutts last night, for the first time I really spotted my belly moving.

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 13:50

Soubnds like a scary way to pass an evening, Gin. Glad you're ok and MiniGin is staying put a while longer. When does maternity leave start?

ginhag · 04/01/2011 14:02

Yeah it wasn't a lot of fun ladyGG! I kept thinking 'oh maybe they've gone' and then would have another. Slept some of the night but they woke me up a couple of times...waited til morning to phone hospital as I was still hoping it would all just disappear.

Haven't actually set a date for mat leave. probably should. am supposed to be doing a trade show in London on the 17th, have reduced amount of time I'll be there compared to usual but am currently not quite sure I can manage it. Will see I guess....

T B completely H I am feeling a bit low today. Obv relieved about the not going into labour at 32 weeks thing...but I dunno...just don't like not coping with stuff I guess. And tho I try not to let it take over, the pain thing is a bit rubbish, is just so hard to do anything.

Feeling a bit weepy and emotional. Probably just tired. will STFU now. Am v excited that I will be having a baybee soon (but not TOO soon!) honest ....

On the plus side am doing well with hippo cd, really think its doing me good :)

Muser · 04/01/2011 14:04

That does sound scary gin. Don't feel bad about feeling down, it happens. Especially when you're in pain a lot. Only 5 weeks until the magic 37 and maybe this baby will make a prompt arrival around then. I'm kind of hoping mine does. It's just getting hard, even though I'm massively excited.

laurielou · 04/01/2011 14:07

Gin good news that head is down. Not so good news on the rest of the hurty stuff.

Med what's the belly moving really like? I must admit to feeling a little freaked out about that (in a good way, you understand). I already keep imaginging Bug doing handstands & somersaults which equates to the flutters I'm getting. How he/she doesn't get dizzy is a miracle Smile.

Honestly, how can anyone expect me to work when I'm waiting for Poopy laying news & Scorps flava news. Its just all too exciting Grin Grin

laurielou · 04/01/2011 14:11

Gin x-posts there, sorry about that. You're allowed to feel a bit low. On top of the worry of last night & the pain, you're probably knackered too!

And I bet you're not taking it any easier today are you? Smile

So have a poke in the eye & some lemon drizzle cake.

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 14:14

You take it easy though, Gin. Maybe your bodies way of telling you to dial it back a bit. Glad hippo cd good. Did it last time and made me fall asleep every time - think it def helped keep early labour managable. Have lent mine out to another preggo friend but she is due to birf end of the month so hopefully will get it back then.

MrG never had a baybee before so think we need some kind of class for him and don't really want to do NCT again - am considering doing a Hypnobirthing class? Anyone done one? Worth it?

Am v excited with all this forthcoming news too, Lozza!

Medee · 04/01/2011 14:42

Kinda fun, Lou, just nice knowing it is in there doing stuff. Though at the same time, when you are trying to sleep...

I second/ third the taking it a bit easier, gin. I know it is hard with your own business though.

Ivegotmrbitey · 04/01/2011 15:22

Hello all and a Happy New Year! (and a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda to aries ) Sorry for not being around, lost new thread as can't really work iPod. It's taken forever to catch up with you chatterboxes!

Okie If it is plain wood that you're painting white yourself, you can buy knotting solution in B and Q which seals it and stops the resin leaking out and causing the stain. It's really honky stuff though and prob not best to use as a preggo, but fine once dry.
Grin at two bellies muser, I have seen the future and it is cottage loaf shaped!
My sickness is similar to yours Ourkid and comes without warning or provocation. Has absolutely no impact on my appetite, and at lunch time I managed to puke in the compstable waste recycling bin while making bacon sandwiches!
Hope the scan went well scorps? And you're not alone with the old Macgregor bumps, have always had them and was vastly relieved that they appear anyway when difffed so my boobs look normal for once. Was dreading exposing them for breast feeding. (You probably don't feel like this, but my sister was most unkind to me during puberty and pointed them out ruthlessly whenever she got the chance resulting in extreme self conciousness.)
In my news, I saw my baybee today! Had the early scan and saw my ten and a half week old baybee lying on his/her back lazily kicking one leg around Smile It's definitely not just wind then!

LadyGoneGaga · 04/01/2011 15:26

Fab news on scan, Bitey. I got my 12 week scan next week - yay!

Ivegotmrbitey · 04/01/2011 15:33

Yay lady! I want to go every day but I don't think they will let me!

Medee · 04/01/2011 15:43

good scan news, Bitey

Muser · 04/01/2011 15:45

Ace news Bitey.

Now where is Scorps?

laurielou · 04/01/2011 16:16

Bitey that's lovely news. I'd go every day if it was allowed too.

Where the merry hell are Scorps & Poopy?

Scorpette · 04/01/2011 17:13

Well, I've been a dreadful copycat and gone for a blue flavour, like most PESHes Grin

Sorry I've not been about until now - interflues playing up and can't get MN on my phone (TYF's phone so old it only has basic features).

Well, it was pretty obvious from the start what sex baybee is - he already takes after his father for something Wink We were amazed at how big he is already and at the detail - we got some really good close-up looks of his gorgeous face (which, because it only picks up eye sockets, not eyes, made him look like an adorable alien!) and everything is totally perfect, present and correct. We waited an hour to go in but the scan was only 15 mins long - and that was because he had an empty bladder and we had to wait for it to fill a bit so she could check his kidneys (glad someone had an empty bladder!).

So everything is fab and groovy and we just need to argue over names now Grin

Have a vile headache again, so might not be round lots, but will be lurking for news from the Poopdeck. Snogs for all!
