Round these parts they call that bit 'Biffin's bridge' Med.

Muser · 03/01/2011 11:25

Ah, I love an inappropriate earworm.

ginhag · 03/01/2011 11:39

I used to sing one of the flight of the conchords songs to mooch when he was teeny...cos I could remember all the words, and it used to bring on the gummy grins...

However, walking along the street singing 'now there's people on the street getting diseases from monkeys' etc whilst pushing the pram most definately made me look like a menkul Grin

rocketleaf · 03/01/2011 11:42

At least is wasn't "hermaphrodite ladies!" gin :o

My inappropriate earworm is always Bongwaters "sucking and shopping, sucking and shopping, cos thats what being a womans all about" Gets strange looks from TB.

PrincessBoo · 03/01/2011 11:56

We used to sing this to smallchild when he was a tiny baybee: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKDtUzRIG6I Fish heads]

PrincessBoo · 03/01/2011 11:57

oops

PrincessBoo · 03/01/2011 11:58

Rocket 'They have Nick Cave dolls now? I want one!'

ginhag · 03/01/2011 12:07

poooooooooo where are yoooooooouuuu???

If, right, I do all the stuff you are supposed to do to encourage a breech baby to go head down but the baby actually WAS head down already, does that mean you will akshurely be persuading it to go arse down??

I have Done Some Stuff this morning. Which means I am now wiped out and hurty. And just to finish me off mooch has decided we should watch bala fucking mory. Aaaaaargh.

Ariesgirl · 03/01/2011 12:20

Oh my God, fish heads!!! I thought I was the only person who remember that!

rocketleaf · 03/01/2011 12:43

TB has just found the poster from the night back in 1998 that we met at. I think we should frame it and put it in the nursery :o

gin what makes you think no.2 is breech? Is it just a feeling? Can you get confirmation before you do anything? There is plenty of time yet I think. Don't know if you can flip from normal way round to breech, I know my sis had DN1 manipulated round but she just flipped back to breech position a day or two later.

Sorry for balamory eep, can you at least monopolise the sofa and have a lie down?

ginhag · 03/01/2011 13:00

rocket am relatively clueless tbh BUT this morning all strong kicks were low down ( very low down, was waiting for a leg to come out my foof...)

Strong kicks= legs/feet
Lighter 'kicks'= arms/hands

So I read somewhere at some point. However they could've felt like 'strong kicks' because I was lying on the poor sod's arm and he was trying to struggle free!

Also there is a hard lump at top of bump. Either head or arse (hope I can tell the difference when he comes out! Grin)

I know there's not really any point in worrying, it's just with him having moved down so much and me having this insane conviction that he will be here early that I would just like to know he's the right way up!

Have collapsed on sofa. Mooch is experimenting with how many times he can ask 'why' before mummy's head explodes.

Medee · 03/01/2011 13:12

have you some chores to do on your knees, like floor scrubbing, gin? That is meant to help.

I have done 2 hours of ironing while watching Kiki's Delivery Service - now it is time to take the tree down. I am Doing Stuff.

rocketleaf · 03/01/2011 13:15

Hmm gin could be and I know he should be turned by now but you aren't due for 8 weeks so there is still time no? If you are worried tho I'd try and get to see someone asap so you can start trying to do something about it.

balamory and "why?" The joys yet to come :o

Also forgot to say hello to cas and hope the revision is going well! Short but sweet!

ginhag · 03/01/2011 13:43

Spending lots of time kneeling forward, on all fours or lying on left side (which is a fave as is the only one that doesn't hurt.) am also hoping all the hippo-related positivity will mean all is peachy.

No mw appt til 35 weeks n she didn't check at the 28 week one, so not really sure I can do a lot. And I sure as fuck can't scrub the floor...

I may just decide to stop wondering about it and assume all is fine :) seems like the easiest option....

ginhag · 03/01/2011 13:47

still nothing from poop I notice

(italics for dramatic effect)

Muser · 03/01/2011 13:56

We have taken 4 big boxes of books and the big ladder to our shiny new storage facility. Well, not really ours. A friend's, who we are now splitting it with. More must go. I think I can hear TBG doing more sorting. They are all his books.

My favourite moments of the journey were the looks I gave TBG when he said we had to park in a carpark the opposite side of the road to the storage place and carry the books over. And then the look I gave him when he said our unit was upstairs. Sometimes he forgets I am really quite pregnant and am not about to hump a big, heavy box of books across a busy road and then up some stairs. We got let into the carpark at the back of the unit and then he discovered the trolleys and the lift.

I might just stare at paint on Dulux and decide what colour I want to repaint the room.

rocketleaf · 03/01/2011 14:01

Ah exciting times muse I am going to do a book sort very soon but am going to be ruthless and car boot most of them. Some of my arty books can go in the roof.

yes polly must either be laying or having another massive lie in just to tease us again. Hoping for the former.

gin not worrying about it sounds like a good plan! Although my MW said that the appointments that they needed to see us at were at those intervals but that if anything was worrying me I should arrange one at any time. If it continues to pray on your mind just go see her, that's what shes there for!

Muser · 03/01/2011 14:08

I have been ruthless rocket and have very few books anymore. TBG has been ruthless for him, but he has so many books that even have sent 250 odd to charity shops, we still have masses.

I agree with rocket, gin, if it's bugging you go to the midwife anyway.

PollyPoo · 03/01/2011 14:38

Still here, sans baybee. . Really thought it was kicking off last night, woke at 2 with rather strong contractions and baybee's feet pushing into the top of my ute, which meant head was really pushing on cervix. Contractions initially came every 15 mins, but then I had some weaker ones and they had really random time lapses between them. I eventually fell asleep and once again woke up with nothing doing this morn. Been to visit Nice SIL this morning, she is due tomorrow and has had no twinges at all yet, not even any BH. Sooooo beyond bored now.

Sorry to hear about achey backs and ouchy ribs. Can't summon any energy for violence, but I do have a lovely stash of half price chocs and a thorntons cake from waitrose - feel free to dig in.

PerfectDromedary · 03/01/2011 14:39

Yup, thirded. At least then you can check whether the baby's head as engaged - if not, really doesn't matter which way up he is at the moment.

I'm currently dealing with living space being full of piles of books. Has really put me off buying more physical books - kindle only from now on, I reckon.

Pollster Are you there? How are you feeling?

PerfectDromedary · 03/01/2011 14:41

X-post! Sorry about the lazy baby, Pol, but sounds promising?

rocketleaf · 03/01/2011 14:58

oh poo proper frustrating, as drom says tho, sounds like you won't be waiting much longer!

PollyPoo · 03/01/2011 15:00

Fuck know drom! Seems there is nothing I can do to influence this baybee (stubborn git) so instead I am going to sit on my arse and rest as much as poss, while stuffing my face with chocolate.

OP posts:
Muser · 03/01/2011 15:19

That strikes me as a good plan Polster.

Bob is kicking up a storm today. And I've realised I'm back to having two bellies. My belly, and then the baby belly on top. Weird. I thought it would be all one mass of stomach at this point.

Muser · 03/01/2011 17:24

gin your forearms over head advice, do you mean fold so my hand is touching each elbow - as if I was about to do some Russian kicky leg HEY HEY dancing?
