moo i'm not sure if it is just a bit of residual blood/gloop left from the sweep, or a proper show, iyswim. Who knows.... I am hoping for proper show obv. I am thinking 2nd January is a good birthday but if nothing starts over night I think we'll go to MILs for lunch. I am just So Sick of the inside of this house!

Walk was slow but great thanks to get out of the house, thanks rocket. We bumped in to our neighbour who had her first baby two weeks ago and she's given me the number of a reflexologist (sp?) so if nothing doing by Tues I will ring her. Neighbour went 9 days late and swears the reflexology started her off. She had her 10lb boy in a sling and it made me go all gooey. Where the fucking fuckety fuck is MY baybee?!!

I reckon if the reflexology fails I might not bother with the consultant appointment on Thurs, and will just go straight for induction. I've had enough now!

Happy New Year PESHs. 2011 is going to be such an exciting year for you all! Right Pol where is that baybeee?

PrincessBoo · 01/01/2011 18:39

Hey Polly not sure how you feel about homeopathy as it seems to be universally hated on mumsnet but if you are partial to a bit of woo then caullophylum is the one I used to try and kick things off - it didn't kickstart labour but I do believe it was that that started to dilate my cervix and meant that when I had my waters broken it didn't hurt one jot.

I also spent £85 on acupuncture which did sweet FA though Angry

Medee · 01/01/2011 18:53

evening all, hope you won't have too much longer to wait, pols

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 20:03

I was inserting Evening Primrose oil capsules up there to soften cervix too. Worth a go!

Muser · 01/01/2011 20:16

That's a new one on me LadyG!

[www.loveitloveitloveit.co.uk]] have their full January sale on now. I set TBG to buy some stuff this morning as I went off to visit my sister. This means I now have my Viking stuff, hooray! And I just came home and bought a bunch more stuff because my mum's best friend pressed money on me before she left to go back to the US. All other clothing purchases must come from cheap places. I should visit H&M, don't they do good baby clothes in bright colours?

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 20:46

I like H&M for baby stuff. Next do really nice baby stuff too and prob washes better. MiniG not averse to a bit of Primani though either.

To be fair though I just had him in babygrows constantly for first couple of months and then we got bought loads at presents when he was born so hardly had to buy much at all.

Muser · 01/01/2011 21:10

I am stocking up on babygrows, proper outfits can wait until later. I think I have enough now to start with. Although that's not going to stop me buying more!

Muser · 01/01/2011 21:20

TBG has bought Bob this, I thought Scorps might appreciate it: cutie cthulhu

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 21:43

I don't know what that is but very cute!

MiniG is with his Dad tonight. His Dad texted me the following:
Apparently MiniG has a girlfriend called Gracie and he kisses her. But she hasn't got a Mummy or Daddy. But she can do spells. Can you corroborate this story?

Made me chuckle. Gracie is a girl at nursery but she def has both parents. Not sure about the magical powers though Confused I love my boy Grin

Muser · 01/01/2011 21:51

Haha, bless MiniG.

Is there anyway I can persuade this baby to shift position? It is so high up that everything is uncomfortable. My mum was commenting today that I seem to be carrying very high. The resulting back pain is starting to get me down a bit.

PrincessBoo · 01/01/2011 21:54

Has MiniG been watching Harry Potter by any chance Lady?

PrincessBoo · 01/01/2011 21:55

sorry I put a :o then i don't know where it went!

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 21:57

Can you bounce on your ball? Or do hip circles? To try and encourage him/her to settle deeper into your pelvis? Will start to settle into your pelvis more fairly soon anyway as space runs out. Although MiniG never engaged - not even day before I went into labour!

Poor thing though - is is hurting your ribs?

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 22:01

Don't think so Boo. But he does like Ben and Holly's Magical kingdom so may be that. He is one for the ladiezzz though at the tender age of 2.

Although also wants to be a beautiful princess. His Dad loves that.

Muser · 01/01/2011 22:01

Yes, hurting the ribs a lot. Pressing right up into them. Also my back behind my ribs when I sit. God knows what's going to happen when I go back to work on Tuesday. I'm praying that somehow the way I sit at work will be better tolerated. Otherwise I can see me moving my leaving date forward.

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 22:11

I think sadly sitting on the sofa is not to be encouraged. Try sitting more upright - backwards on a dining chair or on a ball? Maybe on your office chair will be a better position? Hopefully he'll drop down soon, Muse and ease the pressure. I can vaguely remember having sore ribs for a bit and it wasn't nice.

PrincessBoo · 01/01/2011 22:18

Yes I think the best way to sit is to keep hips above the knees. Echo sitting on ball and circling. Mucho sympathy and lower back runs Muse

PrincessBoo · 01/01/2011 22:18

runs? rubs!

Muser · 01/01/2011 22:25

Upright is worse! The awful pain has been when sitting very upright on dining room chairs, even with a cushion behind me. Squashy sofas are second worse. I am currently sitting on my ball and might listen to my hippo cd to take my mind off stuff.

My pilates classes start back next week, I'm hoping my teacher might be able to give me some pointers.

Muser · 01/01/2011 22:26

And if anyones offering rubs, it's mid-back rather than low, ta. Right hand side, back of the ribs.

Scorpette · 01/01/2011 22:26

I DO love it, Muse! TYF adores it too :) I wanna buy lots of loveitloveitloveit stuff but am superstitious about buying anything until after I'm 24 weeks (ie end of Jan, when the sales will be over or only containing the absolute dregs).

I don't, however, love your rib and back pain. Sad I hope Bob decides to try hanging out in the lower portion of his/her abode v v soon.

Sorry I haven't been around much today - I slept v badly and have felt rough and I've been nursing a v poorly TYF who has agonising toothache (he can't even drink anything without being practically reduced to tears) and of course, because it's New Year, no-one's allowed to get bloody ill. Emergency dental line has given out earth-shattering advice we'd never thought of, like 'don't eat really cold or hot things', 'don't eat crunchy things' and 'try some painkillers' Hmm FFS! But no appointments. I hate seeing him in so much pain Sad

Poll, your gusset update has been immensely disappointing - please try harder tomorrow. I'm sure you could lay ASAP if you really put the effort in Grin Wink Hope summat starts happening properly soon

LGG, I'm imagining Mini G in a burgundy velour lounging jacket with juice in a brandy glass, chatting up Da Laydeez Grin

PrincessBoo · 01/01/2011 22:31

Soz for crap advice Muse that was what my preggo yoga teacher used to say x

MsFC · 01/01/2011 23:02

muse, I feel for you. Do you have a footstool? Or something that height? Try kneeling and resting your head on folded arms on the chair, kind of a box shape. That helped me.

And try to tense your lower abs, the ones under your tummy button. That will give your back more support. My yoga teacher taught me both these tricks and they really helped.
