I was just about to post to say sorry for starting the July thread and then disappearing, then saw that it was all full up! So I thought I would start us a new one.

Hello to all the many many ladies that have joined the July club - it's lovely to see so many of us here. I've been trying to read back through all the old posts, but there are so many, that's partly why it's taken me so long to get back! Have also been having some personal troubles, but that's another story.

Anyway, I'm 12 weeks today and slightly looking forward to my scan on Christmas Eve, but also nervous in case it's not good news. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again and hearing how you and your bumps are going.

OP posts:

JimmyChoo17 · 14/02/2011 19:36

Hiyee - thanks for the welcome ladies!

I have my scan a week today! its at 19 weeks rather than 20 but cant wait to see bubs again!!

Ive been told I am anaemic today....seeing Dr tomorrow but was told my blood count results were showing low iron. I am dreading having to take supplements....everyone seems unable to poop once they start taking them!! Eeeek!

Ive not had a chance to read the thread so may have been covered - but wondering how everyone is feeling?

My sickness has FINALLY eased but still lurking so wont be too cocky about it incase! I have a trapped nerve on my left hand side which isnt giving me too much trouble yet but is annoying!

Is anyone arranging anything like classes yet or is that later on? xx

StormBird · 14/02/2011 20:11

Hello Everyone,

I've been meaning to post for ages but have been sooooo bloody busy with one thing and another.

Congrats to those who have found out what they are having, its kind of making me sway towards finding out myself......ooh what to do what to doooo????? Anyway I've told DP the decision is entirely down to him. Watch this space!

Nicola glad you felt some more movement eventually. I'm 18+5 today and can;t say for sure that I have really felt anything. Sometimes I think I have and then other times its definately wind Grin

Now lets talk about Boobs! Mine leaked the other night - is that in anyway normal at this stage. I woke up with wet bed sheets and was utterly shocked whe I realised what was going on Blush . Tell me its normal pleeease?

I'm looking forward to one born every minute Froachsmum , in fact I'm completely obsessed with it. Looking forward to seeing what this hypnobirth is all about too.

We went pushchair/buggy/pram/whatever you call-em shopping on Saturday. Mainly to see what was outthere not really to buy yet. But have completely fallen in love with the Uppa Baby Vista even though its pretty pricey! - DP said he's just glad they don't need road tax and insurance too! I can see his point so he's told me not to get my hopes up and keep looking Sad

Misslolita good luck with your scn tomorrow. I've not got my 20 week scan until I'm nearly 22 weeks??? which is on 7th March. Looking forward to it but definately still on tenderhooks about the whole situation.

Jimmychoo welcome to the thread Smile . I have been wondering about classes too. I haven't got a clue when I should be doing certain things so would definately heed any advice from the more experienced on this thread.

Has anyone been following Southsearocks and her thread about her waters breaking in America? or is it just me who was totally osessed with her story? What an amazing outcome - if you haven't seen it, its worth catching up on!

Will make sure I have a proper catch up with the thread shortly. Hope you are all doing well.

Speak soon xx

Eglu · 14/02/2011 20:48

Jimmy I'm pretty sure I'm anaemic. I'm experiencing a lot of shortness of breath. Have started taking supplements already as I've been anaemic in my other two pgs too.

If you drink plenty of orange juice it should help with the pooping Grin THe bit I don't like is having black poo. OJ will also help your body absorb the iron.

Stormbird I was following Southsea. It has been an amazing story. CAn't wait for the conclusion when the family get back to England.

As for classes if you are talking about antenatal classes, you usually start them when you are around 28 weeks. If you go to NHS ones your mw will provide a list of starting dates. My mw gave me them at my booking in appointment, Despite the fact this is my third and she delivered the last one :) If you want NCT or similar antenatal classes then it would be best to book asap, you may find they are already full.

I would love to do pregnancy yoga and an aquanatal class but there are none in my area.

cara2244 · 14/02/2011 20:49

Stormbird, keep your eyes peeled for a second hand pushchair as decent makes will be fine second hand and you'll save a fortune. I got mine for 80 quid, 400 new, and have used it every day for two years. It'll last the next one too! In fact, I have to say, all the best baby stuff I bought was the second hand stuff and the stuff I hardly used seemed to be the new stuff!

buttonmoon78 · 14/02/2011 21:19

Hey Eglu I picked up my Windoo tonight. It's not just nearly new as advertised. I don't reckon it's been used more than once or twice at all!

In fact, a good day all round. Felt baby move for the first time this morning, which was a relief as a full 2 weeks later than with #3.

Now watching One Born with a glass of cream soda and a bag of dolly mixtures. Yay!

Also, have been having Braxton Hicks today. A bit annoying as they just get more and more frequent and it's a full month earlier than with #3!

Eglu · 14/02/2011 21:32

Oh excited for you Buttonmoon mine should be in the post to me now. I really like the look of the handles on it.

What colour did you get? Mine is BB red.

Eglu · 14/02/2011 21:34

Also someone mentioned leaky boobs earlier. It is normal don't worry.

I didn't get it at all with DS1. Started at around 25 weeks with DS2. Will see what happnes this time.

I'm also enjoying OBEM

nicolamumof3 · 14/02/2011 21:35

well my bee+ delivered. So so glad i got it early on as it takes some working out! But all set up now, ready to show to hubby then get packed away again!! its lovely i love it!

baby moving loads through all the exertion, tried to turn the seat round and nearly killed myself getting it back on lol!

as for the leaky boobs i have had this in all my pg's none yet tho!!

off to watch one born now that i had to pause as doing this damn pushchair!

buttonmoon78 · 14/02/2011 21:37

I got black. We had red last time. DH chose it and we had a boy. Apparently this time he's decided red is not man enough for his son (bear in mind we don't know what it is)! Sometimes I feel like I spend my whole life like this Hmm

I really wish I'd had a Windoo last time - it looks so lovely a cosy!

Eglu · 14/02/2011 21:43

We had a red pushchair for DS2 and I loved red. My seat unit id grey for my loola, so fancied something brighter for the pram bit. ALthough I was basically willing to bid on anything in good condition, apart from the hideous pink or pale blue ones. Grin

nicolamumof3 · 14/02/2011 21:49

i think red is unisex really my bee plus is red as only unisex colour apart from black and i wanted a contrast.

buttonmoon78 · 14/02/2011 21:53

I totally agree with you both! I loved my red loola but it's just not worth spending the next 2+ years with him looking at it a bit funny IYKWIM?

And I also agree with you on the icky pick and pale blue ones Eglu. The pale blue just looks grubby all the time!

buttonmoon78 · 14/02/2011 22:01

Oh man. Floods of tears. I get so emotional with that programme! Still, I guess it's cathartic.

Off for a Brew now. Loving the new emoticons!

confuddledDOTcom · 14/02/2011 22:48

Facebook have been changing a lot of things lately and the groups are one of them. The old groups are in the same style but the new ones have changed. I'm not a fan of the new layout but it does have group IM chat. The old style is far more of a forum type layout with a wall and discussions (you can do both with the new but the discussions are hidden away and if we only have a wall it's not much different from here apart from being able to reply directly to a post.

JimmyChoo17 thanks for mentioning classes, I have to book early and by phone because of being an impatient mummy so I need to give them a call this week.

StormBird, some women leak from 8 weeks. It's not usual to leak early but it's normal.

Not much to report here, got the funeral this week on Friday and my parents are going tomorrow evening to help out so I have two days of school runs to cover. My sister can pick them up and nursery are keeping hold of the youngest until she can get to them on Wednesday but still need to get them to school. Also hoping to get my dress made this week.

Fab123 · 15/02/2011 09:38

Hi everyone! Long time since I've had the time to come on here!
Congrats to everyone who has found out the sex! I've been busy bidding on lovely dresses on ebay ready for the summer :)

Not had leaky boobs but my friend did at this stage and said it's fine. Just annoying!

I was wondering about weight - I had put on a full stone up until last week, but with the stress I've lost half a stone again. I don't know how as I think I've been eating the same, I guess I just have more nervous energy. No one has weighed me yet, but the MW did ask my weight at the first app and made a note. Do they actually check this and is it something I should be worried about? Confused

I'm saving One Born until tonight. Makes me laugh then cry nearly every episode so i'll have the tissues ready!

nicolamumof3 · 15/02/2011 10:14

fab as long as you measuring fine for dates they will not be concerned with your own weight, I know lots of ladies who's lost weight through sickness or just not gained much but baby has always grown well. So try not to worry.

Fab123 · 15/02/2011 10:19

Thanks Nicola. Been enough worry in my week so glad to hear baby should be getting what it needs. Grin Hope you are enjoying playing with the Bee!

nicolamumof3 · 15/02/2011 11:36

here's some pics thats my youngest trying to get in on the action. sorry about the quality taken on my iphone.

Fab123 · 15/02/2011 11:56

Ooooh! I love the quilt and the sheepskin layer. Your little boy is stunning - going to melt a few hearts I can tell! Not played with my Cameleon yet but hope to soon. Biding on some fabric to cheer it up :)

nicolamumof3 · 15/02/2011 13:59

thanks Smile

Eglu · 15/02/2011 14:17

I love the patchwork quilt Nicola. It is lovely.

I find a toddler is a helpful accessory when pushchair shopping. I would suggest all first time parents borrow one, as every pushchair is easy to push with nothing in.

DS2 is 3 and weighs about 2.5 stone. He was very handy for popping into the strollers I was looking at.

Eglu · 15/02/2011 21:29

Evening all, I'm just back form my gender scan and Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock we are having a girl. I was totally expecting to be told another boy. But there it was on screen little hamburger shaped girl bits.

I think it is going to take some time to get used to the idea.

buttonmoon78 · 15/02/2011 21:32

Wahey! Congratulations! Little girls are lovely. I've got 2 and one boy so I'm really not bothered what it is this time.

Enjoy the rest of your pg in a pink haze!

Eglu · 15/02/2011 21:37

Thank you buutonmoon. It really almost never occured to me that it could possibly be a girl. Kind of silly I know but thats what I felt like. Also the pg has been very similar to my other two.

JimmyChoo17 · 15/02/2011 21:51

....buttonmoon78 ...can you get Braxton hicks this early then??

I feel so naive about pregnancy/childbirth...I spent so long TTC and with complications....I never thought I would get to the pregnancy part as daft as that sounds. Just happy to be here now! Got to admit going into denial about the birth bit...usually even more after watching OBEM.
For those of you having 2nd, 3rd etc children - how habe your births compared to those shown on OBEM? All of my mates say its nothing like whats been shown....?

I havent had excessive leaky boobs but had like a thing crust on one nipple....(TMI Sorry!)

Went to Drs - turns out the Dr who looked at my blood results had not looked at my notes and seen that i was pregnant - so my blood count reduction was not actually a worry! Was normal for a pregnant person but would be a concern for a non-pregnant person. So its just the low blood pressure knocking me every now and then. I have to admit I have not been that good with my pregnacare since about 13 weeks mainly because of sickness. Have bought a new supply as that should help. Phew...was worried about that dark poop someone mentioned!

OOoo so are you all shopping? I need to get a wriggle on. Am going to the baby show this weekend so will prob start thinking about it soon.

Need to read a few of the previous pages to see what everyones been up to and feeling - Im a little behind!
