I was just about to post to say sorry for starting the July thread and then disappearing, then saw that it was all full up! So I thought I would start us a new one.

Hello to all the many many ladies that have joined the July club - it's lovely to see so many of us here. I've been trying to read back through all the old posts, but there are so many, that's partly why it's taken me so long to get back! Have also been having some personal troubles, but that's another story.

Anyway, I'm 12 weeks today and slightly looking forward to my scan on Christmas Eve, but also nervous in case it's not good news. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again and hearing how you and your bumps are going.

wolfcub so envious at your 'no bump' i feel qutie huge. Some days looks like a proper bump others just fat!!

I think a proper carrycot is lovely can't wait to get mine and use it on micralite frame.

wolfcubEm83 · 11/02/2011 13:46

I want a bump tho!! Saw some friends last night who i havent seen since about 8 weeks pg and after they made me lift my top up in the pub Blush they did a collective round of 'oh, where is it?' How funny.
My OH thinks i look like ive just eaten a few too many Biscuit Cheeky get that he is.

Twit · 11/02/2011 20:53

my bump looks the same now as it did when I gave birth to ds1. Sad Blush
I will be getting alot of 'are you sure it's only the one?' type comments after 1/2 term (when I come out)
confuddled I didn't realise you are a professional, no worries about messaging me I have been researching the slings and have found some fabric on ebay I might get a bit later. Watching the demonstrations on how to wrap up has made me all gooey.

A week to go before my scan, I'm nervous and excited, I feel the same about coming out as well. It'll be a relief not to try and hide, but also daunting having to face the attention (not all positive). I think I'm repeating myself now, so will go to bed soon - DH has promised me a back rub.

cara2244 · 11/02/2011 22:19

Wolfcub I was small with my last pregnancy - at 16 weeks I was just getting a bump, but it sure did grow at the end! This time, people started guessing at 14 weeks! Before you know it, everyone will be trying to touch your bump. My OH was all over the place with our son and he never got that involved in the early days so I can sympathise with you.

In annoying news, have just found out beyonce is headling glastonbury. I spent a whole morning getting tickets for a group of friends, but now I'm gonna have to cancel my ticket.....glastonbury at 36 weeks pregnant isn't sensible is it?!?

isitreallythattime · 12/02/2011 07:54

Cara2244 wow awesome, she must be fab live! I feel your pain i really do. Today I need to put my Take That tickets on ebay as i'll be 37 weeks. Heart broken! Sad

nicolamumof3 · 12/02/2011 08:01

morning all. not feeling great today. Have been feeling movements for at least a couple weeks but nothing for at least 24hrs now. Had some sharp abdominable pains but no bleeding. Am 18w today. Typically its the weekend not sure how to get in touch with mw just worrying now Sad

am sure all is probably ok I just need some reassurance of hearing a hb. My fourth pg and has been the most worrying i never stop!!

Eglu · 12/02/2011 08:16

Hi Nicola, sorry to hear you are worried. In this area if it is out of hours or a worrying thing then you just call labour ward. In your circumstances they would probably ask you to go in and be monitored for a little while.

It may be worth giving them a call.

nicolamumof3 · 12/02/2011 08:19

i think i will as its a long weekend to worry and dh at work so i'll be even more neurotic. Will give them a call now, there is a no. on my notes for hospital 'queries in pg' so will call that. Thanks.

SpannerPants · 12/02/2011 12:53

Good luck Nicola - hope everything is ok x

Eglu · 12/02/2011 12:56

Hope you got some reassurance from the hospital Nicola.

Buttonmoon you have spurred me on and now I'm bidding on a windoo. There are none anywhere near me so I can only bid on ones that will post. Missed out on a black one, but it didn't have rain cover. Now bidding on a red one. Keeping fingers crossed.

nicolamumof3 · 12/02/2011 13:21

tried the no. 3 times it just rang and rang. DH gone to work and impossible really for me to go with the boys on the bus. So hanging tight Dh said he will take me to hospital tommorrow if im still worried.

sues1974 · 12/02/2011 22:14

hi
nicola im in a similar situation but thankfully have a doppler and have heard the babys hearbeat. Im 18 weeks tolday and had quite a lo of movement on thursday then nothing at all yesterday or today and have had the odd sharp pain. My obstetrician said not to worry if there no blood and pain together, but its still nice to be reassured isnt it, hope you get some luck tomorrow.
Wolfcub my friend didnt have a bump until after 20 weeks, shes a bit of a fitness freak and at 20 weeks had a perfect flat stomach and she was also purposely hiding her pregnancy cos of redundancy at work. By week 23 she was massive, i didnt see her in them few weeks and it was like shes been hiding her baby in her bum then out it popped up front!

Think im going to have to sell my Take that Ticket too - already got back ache so cant imagine how bad it will be at 35 weeks pregnant!
sues xx

confuddledDOTcom · 13/02/2011 00:29

Evening. I've not been on much with different things going on, it's been quite hectic around here. I had a scan yesterday, mainly to measure the cervix, making sure I'm not in labour (in 4 weeks I'll be where I went into labour last time) which I'm not - yay! Baby has really been moving around, OH felt it last night (nice little game of poke going on when we found the right spot) and my 4 year old could feel it today. She went and told Nanny who asked her if we should smack baby's bum when s/he is born, she told her it was just the baby saying hello :)

My bump seems to have popped out all of a sudden, I've been wearing maternity trousers from pretty early on but this week I have a proper defined bump, hard and not fat. I think with the toddler being ill and being wrapped up in that I've not had chance to notice it getting big.

I'm getting fed up with the injections, my leg muscles are so tight that it hurts to inject my legs, my bump getting big is making it hard to inject there and my bum can't take much more.

I went fabric shopping today, we're going to a medieval meal for my birthday and I'm going to make a medieval dress. I've found one that should work for a pregnant woman, just need to work out the best way to make it maternity.

I'm happy to make something on Facebook and it can be a private or closed group so that only we can see it. Anyone have any preference for old or new style group? I have some defunct groups I can use or I'll make a new one, whatever people want.

inbetweener, my mum had placenta previa with my sister right from the start and spent most of her pregnancy in hospital because of the bleeding. She went to 44 weeks and delivered naturally. They know she had to be 44 weeks because of how long she'd been in and when they started scanning her.

pesha, go! A very small % of babies are born when they're supposed to and if you're only 45 minutes away it's not too far, you don't need to be there from the first contraction. Make sure you know the local hospitals so you can have a back up plan if needed.

emmywoo, a natural birth (if possible) is far better for PGP than a section. There are things you can do to protect yourself during labour to make sure it doesn't cause too much of a problem or leave you with problems afterwards.

Cara, he's a month older than my toddler then. You might be able to get him in a back wrap if he's not up for walking.

MissLolita, we have been better thank you. I'm still aching and had a couple of bad days where I couldn't move my legs, I think I need to get a good massage!

twit, I'm not really a professional, I'm a Doula so have on my website that I make slings. I sell them very cheap but I do have to make allowances for the fact that I have two spares that might end up just on the stash and never get sold so I sell them just over cost and I don't want everyone knowing what I get back from them (if that makes sense and isn't too rambly Blush)

emmywoo · 13/02/2011 09:47

Hi All,

Just thought would post incase anyone of you know what this is or have experienced it.
Last couple of days I have been having a dull constant ache in the upper part of my tummy (above bell button). It feels as tho I may have pulled a muscle or something similar but obviously due to pregnancy am slighty worried incase something more sinister.

I have had pains below whihc come and go which I can put down to beng stretching pains but not sure what the upper pain is.

xxx

nicolamumof3 · 13/02/2011 16:36

afternoon all, have felt some movements and am much relieved!

Want2bSupermum · 13/02/2011 17:34

Hello everyone,

Not much to report this end. Had a busy week in upstate new york and after working from the office all day yesterday I am spending my day preparing to head to Philly for the week tomorrow morning. My bump grew a lot last week and luckily I bought some dresses for work last Sunday. I wore my regular trousers on Monday but couldn't do them up on Tuesday!

I am starting to get a bit worried that I can't feel anything. I am achy this morning due to the dog sleeping on me last night (a 70lb golden!). Due to travels I changed my scan to a week next Wednesday. I was expecting to feel something by now I am at 20 weeks.

nicolamumof3 · 13/02/2011 20:40

Not unusual supermum if this first?

Eglu · 13/02/2011 22:15

Supermum it may be way your baby is lying too. With DS2 I hardly felt anything for a long time, due to the fact he was breech.

Glad you've felt some movements again Nicola.

I'm happy today as I've just won a windoo carrycot on ebay. It has two mattresses and some sheets with it.

JimmyChoo17 · 14/02/2011 09:28

Ooo Can I join?
Thought the other July thread was v quiet!

Am 18Weeks 2 days today.

LadyGoneGaga · 14/02/2011 12:04

Hi Jimmy - welcome! You're about a week ahead of me. Have you got your scan date through yet? Mine's two weeks on Friday! Can't believe we're almost ha;fway already!

nicolamumof3 · 14/02/2011 13:32

afternoon all, and welcome Jimmy im 18+2 today as well! SCan 2 weeks today.

My bee plus is out for delivery today too, so all good.

Eglu · 14/02/2011 15:11

Welcome Jimmy.

Ooh how exciting getting your Bee Nicola.

I'm excited for my scan. We've booked a private gender scan for tomorrow night as DH is unable to make my NHS scan next Monday.

We are taking the boys too. Having never found out the sex before I'm totally over excited like a kid before Christmas. Grin

MissLolita · 14/02/2011 15:27

Hi Jimmy!
Nicola, so pleased you have felt movement!
Want2b I'm still not feeling anything either. Someone on here mentioned that they had anterior placental placement (can't remember who, sorry!) with a previous pregnancy - when did you start feeling movement? I keep thinking maybe i have felt something but I don't really think I am - I get quite a lot of indigestion and I think that's what it is - it doesn't feel 'fluttery' which is how people seem to describe it, more like tummy ache....

Wolfcub, I've got my scan tomorrow too - I can't wait! I'm going to ask for a second opinion about the flavour as I am still a bit disbelieving - I had always assumed eggball was a boy and when the sonographer said 'girl' I was very, very surprised. Of course now I have this in my head I am convinced she was wrong and it actually was a boy....and yes I know that I should definately stop thinking about this and get on with something else....

Confuddled I am happy to bow to your technical expertise - I' wasn't aware there was more than one type of style?

My bump seems to go in and out. On Saturday it was very 'out' but yesterday I looked perfectly normal to the extent that dh asked where it has gone! It's in between today...

Fraochsmum · 14/02/2011 16:33

Afternoon!
To those who were interested - there is going to be a hypnobirth on 'One Born Every Minute' tonight.

Want I felt flutters one night last week and haven't felt anything since. I'm not bothered but just want to feel those 'bumps' again!

That's funny MissLolita! I was convinced DD was a boy - from as soon as I got the BFP in fact! I only had a 12 week scan so had nothing to base it on, apart from gut feeling. Strangely though I wasn't as shocked at her being a girl as I thought I would be...prob cause I was knackered from 3 hours of pushing Grin

I got a worrying call from mw yesterday to say she couldn't find my AFP blood results, which were taken 2 weeks ago. Another lady whose were taken the same day had hers back, but there was no record of mine. I was already on a downer because my best friends second round of fert treatment was unsuccessful, and this just felt like an added worry that I thought I was clear of. Went in this morning to get more taken to do again, but when I got home she had managed to contact the hospital in Glasgow and found them! They were under my maiden name and had been sent to the health centre at our local hospital - it's the same building ffs! Anyhoo they were absolutely fine and at least I don't need to wait again.
I then had another physio app, have to go back on Thursday and she will do some accupuncture if I'm still sore.
Then I had the dentist for a scaling - not bad for a Monday morning Sad Brew

How are you now emmy? I haven't had any pain like that, so not sure about it I'm afraid.

Welcome Jimmy, you are due the day before be x

Eglu · 14/02/2011 17:05

I'm interested in watching the hypnobirth. I had only G&A with my other two. However last time I'm not convinced it did anything for me, just helped me concentrate on the breathing. I was planning on doing it without this time as it dries your mouth out so much.
