Glad to hear that Nova made it and is okay. Will stop asking now.

Goldie - You're talking maternity jeans right? Hope you are well.

KristinaM - your turn to be stalked! Everything okay?

ChaCha · 30/09/2005 16:43

Twinkle - I think my DH can help you with what you need to know. I think he is in the middle of a garage conversion at the moment. He's self employed and clued up on all the building regs etc.. I will see him later this evening if you want to write what you need to know exactly or if it's personal you can CAT me and i'll email you back. Up to you. HTH

twinkle1 · 30/09/2005 16:50

thanks chacha,
will get dh to write down what we need to know when he gets back from work thanks
twinkle

pinkminx79 · 30/09/2005 16:50

i'm still here, reading yer posts....phone wont stop ringing!! aarrgghh!!

ChaCha · 30/09/2005 17:05

Okay Twinkle, hope we can help.

Pinkminx - It's 5pm!!!!!! shouldn't you be at home

goldenoldie · 30/09/2005 17:09

ChaCha - no, Nova can get into 'normal' hipster/under the bump jeans! And they look good!

Twinkle - we converted our garage into a kitchen/diner a couple of years ago. All I can tell you is that the building regs were extensive and we had to put so much insulation in the floor the room was raised by about 6 inches. Same for the walls too - we lost a good 6 inches of depth from each wall.

ChaCha · 30/09/2005 17:20

Golden - That's cool, wish i could say the same. Hardly anything fits that I used to wear. Not complaining though, am getting used to new shape and quite liking it.

Am actually looking fwd to an NCT sale this weekend, hope that they are as good as they say. Will be off now to prepare for the night. Have a fantastic weekend everyone.

Londoner · 30/09/2005 17:31

Hello all,

So sorry I couldn't make it to the meet up today... as well as the consultant appt. my daughter is ill today (sore throat, temperature, tears), so double thwarted! Were there just 3 of you there in the end? golden thank you so much for going to all the trouble to organise it so beautifully... I would have been there if I could.
..... Sorry to hear you're feeling so rotten Enthusia, hope you managed to catch up & rest today?
ChaCha hope you're feeling better this afternoon, I can't believe you're suffering from 'morning' sickness through this whole pregnancy, that's so rough. You describe it so well, like when you talked about maybe managing small mouthfuls of mashed potato (sorry if TMI..!) from the top of a shepherds pie, or just about managing to make a couple of toasties for lunch.... it really took me back to remembering how completely wiped out you feel when it's happening to you. It'll be so great when your baby arrives and you feel instant relief from it... I wonder what you'll crave?
BEKsmum love your description of your baby doing a 3 point turn, so excellent, lol. Sorry to hear Ben is sick, hope he feels better soon.
karma - good luck with your move, how exciting!
rodeo- thanks for wishing me luck at my appt. today. It went really well and I've been given the go ahead for my homebirth- Hooray! Midwife will come round & visit to book me in officially on Tuesday afternoon..... gives me time to make my house feel organised and homely. Can't help you with names I'm afraid, as I think it's just such an individual thing.... I'm sure when you meet your baby, there will be a name that seems just right in your choices there... they're all lovely names. My youngest son says he thinks it's amazing how people always have the right names, names that suit them.... v. sweet and thoughtful, I think he's probably right, and your baby will get the right name too, try not to worry.
Hi pinkminx, sorry to hear you're so uncomfortable. When you get those cramps can you try relaxing your abdomen? I've just discovered this myself & am finding it really helps. HTH. I don't think you're being silly thinking your baby will be early, I think it's good to be prepared.
Hi diege & twinkle and everyone....

Enthusia · 30/09/2005 17:48

Hiya

Sorry about the meet-up, all I can say is that I slept for 3 hours this afternoon and have done very little today. I am now feeling more human and ready to face the world!!!!!

Have not really suffered with huges tiredness - just spurts but this week I have been constantly knackered. Hopefully I will regain some energy as I have been resting now. Don't want to be sitting around doing nothing but piling on the pounds for the next 6 weeks.

Londoner, congrats on your homebirth!!!!

ChaCha · 30/09/2005 17:53

The PC really doesn't want me to go!! (Computer says 'Nooooo') I managed to arrange the floor cushions and call my mum but it keeps calling me back...this really is last msg for the night

Londoner I'm sorry that your DD is ill and hope that she gets better ASAP. Thanks for asking about me, I'm feeling fine now, coca-cola is the only thing that cures me when I feel that way - amazing really!
I hope I don't come across as a weirdo in saying this but I feel you can tell a lot about a person by the way they write their messages, what they do in life, how they treat others, respond to their messages, etc.. You're one of those people on here that I'd really like to meet in RL. You always take time out in your posts to ask about everyone and I get the impresssion that you are a very selfless person (one that I am aiming to be but not getting v.far). Perhaps I am in a really soppy, hormonal state but I couldn't help comment
I will now retreat to the kitchen and sorry if i've been soppy. It's great to have you on this thread

Londoner · 30/09/2005 17:55

Thanks Enthusia!
Glad you managed to rest up today.

Londoner · 30/09/2005 18:02

Hey ChaCha cross posted there, hang on.. I have something in my eye..shucks, thanks. I'm really touched. I'd like to meet you too you crazy lady! Also, I love Coca-Cola, in fact it is my favourite drink, mmmmm, only it does that crazy wild restless leg thing to me, d'you get that?
p.s. am also addicted to comp., keep on promising to myself, "just one more post"... whatta pair of junkies huh!

pinkminx79 · 30/09/2005 18:51

I'm back!!!! Yay, i now hate the walk to the train station...up the stairs, and more stairs at my station then the walk home pfffft it sux
but i'm here, home, safe and dry and i can officially chill for the weekend.
How is everyone this eve?
Chacha, hehe i was probably the first out that door at 5 LOL!!

rodeo1 · 30/09/2005 21:35

Ah! I'm here pinky!

I bet you're glad it's Friday now! Did you say you've only 2 weeks left of work? Great stuff! Have you got any names lined up?

Londoner, well done with your appointment! Although being no 4 you must be a pro at giving birth now! Have you met your MW who will be attending the birth? You and Chacha are soppy apaths!! But you're right, it's funny how you click with people online! I've never used the internet for anything other than buying things or collating info, but now I'm on here all the time! It is very addictive!

And your right about names, it is silly to worry about it when baby's not even born yet! I think I'm just trying to worry about baby names and baby things because I'm really quite scared about the birth TBH. Admitted this to dp last night, which was good for me I think. Problem shared and all that! Just don't want to be cut up, baby yanked out and being stapled together again! Ooh the pain! Really sorry if I'm freaking anyone else out. And if I think about it last section really wasn't that bad but the thought of doing it again makes my heart pound. Sorry to go on everyone

Anyway(!).....hope you are well rested now Enthusia, how's your iron count? Just a thought but I was a borderline anaemic and the iron tablets do seem to have perked me up a little. But you do seem to have loads of energy usually so I bet it's fine..

Chacha, good luck at the NCT sale tomorrow! Try not to elbow too many women as you try to get to the front in some maniacal fashion!

Beks, yes please aim for October! I don't want to be all on my own, but maybe the week before 17th if possible....(I'd better go before someone notices my panicky, selfish side!)

babyonboard · 30/09/2005 21:44

hello I am hope I am in the right place.I am under instructions here from ami. she has to stay in hospital tonight.she has very low blood pressure and something wrong with her blood test but they havent said what it is yet.but also nothing too much to worry about. so i hope they are right. they just kicked me out of the ward and i am a bit worried and at a loss as to what to do with myself. she says sorry to not see you today in islington. they will discharge her tonight if they get bloods back from the lab and they are okay. i hope so.

rodeo1 · 30/09/2005 22:03

Thanks Ami's friend. How worrying for her (and you)! Give her our love and best wishes, I hope she'll be out tonight and things aren't serious

Pink, I do like Emily! And love Robert, I have a lovely cousin Robert! You're like me, they've told us they think it's a girl and I can't help calling baby 'she'! I'll be in for a huge shock if it comes complete with boy tackle!! Saying that we're quite decided on a boy's name too, either Henry Thomas (which I prefer) or Charles Thomas (which dp prefers!)

tessasmum · 30/09/2005 22:12

Just snuck on quickly to say that BoB rang as I got home but see her DP has filled in the news, hope for better news tomorrow.

Lovely to meet you at lunchtime Nova and Golden. Tessa had a lovely time and was full of it all evening.

Can't claim too much credit for being organised about carrying around everything under the sun, you saw the size of the bag

Will try and catch up properly tomorrow

rodeo1 · 30/09/2005 22:13

OP posts:
pinkminx79 · 30/09/2005 22:18
