Hi! Just popping in on all the due threads to say how very jealous I am of you girls -my tiny baby born in June seems like a big girl already! I miss my bump and want to do it again! (Forgotten endless uncomfortable days at 41 weeks+ already...!)

Will shamelessly add that I have just listed loads of Ruby's lovely but outgrown clothes on the For Sale thread if anyone still needs anything!

Good luck all and loads of magic sprinkles for easy births

ChaCha · 29/09/2005 15:19

Hi to all newbies

Hope everyone is well. For those of you meeting up tomorrow have a great time and yes, another picture would be lovely!

Will be collecting my birthing/exercise ball later today and looking fwd to spacehopping (as one MNer put it on earlier thread) in childlike fashion! Argos are doing the Reebok one at 6.99 instead of 8.99 if anyone is interested.

Londoner · 29/09/2005 17:14

Hi Dimples and mamman, welcome to the November Club!
Well, sorry just a quick post I'm afraid good news and bad news,.... good news is midwife just rang & said I have an appointment with the consultant, if he gives go ahead I they will officially book my home birth tomorrow, bad news is it's the only appointment available (I'm "lucky to get one..."?!) is....tomorrow at 11.15am, so I can't come to the meet up.....

Ho hum..... perhaps next time then! So sorry I'll be missing out on your company, and those lovely noodles mmmmm.....noodles.....
I hope you girls have a great time, and will speak soon... on borrowed time with comp. as eldest son is hovering... needs to do h/wk. Byeeeeeeeeeee.

BEKsmum · 29/09/2005 19:25

Evening girls, how can I miss a day & a half and have 31 mssages to catch up on, on a new thread and a half hour read on the old one before I can type anything!!!

Anyway who set up the new thread - Rodeo who? - she's from the October thread isn't she!!! 11 days till ouch!!! I'm very jealous

Welcome aboard Mamman & Dimples, hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancies and can work out how mad we really are on here!!!

Karma good luck with your move, it must be really exciting for you setting up home with bump on the way - enjoy it.

Nothing very exciting happening with me at present. Ben and I spent the day playing with cars, making fishing rods from sticks and catching hand decorated fishes - I really enjoyed it in actual fact as haven't been able or wanted to do that much lately.
Felt very guilty for not giving him as much attention as normal, but am now paying severely for playing on the floor all day.

Right better go and do some of the ironing mountain if my back will stand it - very unlikely, speak to you all soon.

Hope you have a good day tomorrow those of you who are meeting up, a couple of photo's of faces and bumps would be nice! Beks

pinkminx79 · 29/09/2005 19:27

rodeo1 · 29/09/2005 22:10

Hi Girls,

Welcome Mamman! Wow, 2 new members in one day! Just been for a pre-theatre meal at my fave restaurant with my mum and sis, which was lovely, had a great laugh. Had green lipped mussels to start (bit naughty I know!) and then sirloin steak with cafe de Paris butter(?) and raspberry and pineapple for dessert! Yum it was gorge!!

Have a lovely lunch tomorrow girls, very jealous again, but I can't even seem to muster the energy to go into town these days!

Photo's would be lovely again girls to see faces and growing bumps! Told dp I want him to take to some pictures of my last ever bump before it's gone forever as it's not too hideous!!

Good luck with your homebirth appt tomorrow Londoner!

Keep having daft moments thinking I won't love this baby like I do the other 2, really stupid I know, esp. as I felt the same way before I had ds!! Anyone else getting these feelings??

Also dithering about the baby's name too. We were pretty much decided on Jessie, but now I keep seeing annoying girls called Jessica, argh!! New names include Phoebe and Imogen, and what do you think to Piper? Is it awful?! I'm quite confused now. Want either Mathilda or Mary as a middle name. Blathering on now so will get ready for bed. You can tell I've had a thimble size glass of wine tonight! Hic!

Morning all

I'm afraid I am not going to be able to make the meet up today. Am feeling absolutely knackered and just can't face the walk to the train station and then the trek to and across London. Unusual for me to say that I know, but I think the days of my shopping sprees are finally over, got so grumpy yesterday afternoon as I was shattered, I couldn't even be bothered to log on here, very unusual

Anyway sorry to deplete the numbers even more, hope you have a great time.

34 today

karmamother · 30/09/2005 08:54

Hi everyone. Got a mammoth day of packing ahead of me so I'm going to avoid the computer so I don't get distracted. Woke up at 3am & couldn't get back to sleep for thinking about the move, so I decided to get up & pack some more. God, how much crap do I own? Already sent 4 bags to Oxfam. Feeling a bit tired, emotional & weepy today, wish I could just stay in bed all day with my fave guys - Ben & Jerry. Phish Food....MMM! I am SOOOOOOOO craving chocolate right now

Went to get my haircut yesterday & let my hormones get the better of me....got a fringe!! Haven't had one for 4 years, hope I don't regret it once my hormones have settled.
Anyway, have a great time at the meet-up & I can't wait to see some pics. I want to compare bump sizes as everyone thinks I'm huge. May not be back on here till after the move. I dread to think how many posts I'll have to read by then. Bye for now.

twinkle1 · 30/09/2005 08:58

good luck with the move karma
try not to do to much!!!
God weather here is bloody awful again here ah well.October tommorow then next november time to give birth ahhhhh Its getting very close yikes.I just want the house all cleaned and finished(some hope)

32+1

karmamother · 30/09/2005 09:10

One more thing...forgot to say that when I was awake in the middle of the night, the most bizarre thought came into my head. I had a mental picture of 6 or 7 heavily pregnant women sitting in Wagamamas together. I had a little chuckle to myself. Can you imagine what it would look like if you had to sit on the floor like they do in some Japanese restaurants?? Hey, why don't you all pretend to go into labour then dash out without paying the bill?

Thanks Twinkle1. I shall try not to do too much.

rodeo1 · 30/09/2005 10:33

What awful weather!! And I left the washing out last night All the towels were trailing on the muddy lawn this morning!

Just off to do a bit of baby shopping and get some paint, will catch up later,

Have a lovely lunch girls! Don't forget to take more pics!

10 days to go x x x

Good morning ladies,

Good luck with your move Karma! Don't do too much (easier said than done, i know)

Lunching ladies enjoy your meet up!

Rodeo - 10 days!!! Yippeeee..

Hope everyone is well and happy!!

BEKsmum · 30/09/2005 11:52

Morning girls,

Rodeo, have the same feelings regarding this baby that you do, just can't imagine that I could love another child as much as I do Ben.

I love the name Imogen by the way, would have liked it myself but dh says no, not sure about Piper though, won't she get the p taken out of her a bit? Also makes me think of Billie Piper, thenChris Evans, not a nice concoction!!!

We have the opposite problem have settled on a girls name but can't decide on a boys name, quite like Tom and Oscar but the later is a bit pretentious for us, can't really imagine yelling Oscar at the top of my voice in the park etc!!!

Ben has decided he definitely doesn't want a brother and is willing to pay £80 to get his baby Eleanor & can't understand why I can't promise him it's a girl. I also showed him the baby cots at the hospital yesterday and he asked if you kept the baby in the cupboard underneath rather than in the see through bit - very worrying!!!

Had a fun night last night not, baby decided to do a 333 point turn, going from head down to transverse then breach, could literally see it happening before my eyes and could nothing to stop it. The thing is it's such a long baby it took it bloody ages to do it too. Space was obviously very tight, just hope it doesn't get stuck that way now!!!

Then Ben decided it was time he picked up the virus that has been floating around and spent part of the night and this morning being sick. I've diverted him with making fishes for our chopstick fishing rods at the moment so that I could have two mins to get washed and dressed and to log on here to catch up!

Hope you girls have a great lunch and Karma hope the move goes well, don't go over doing it though.

Right got to go his lordship calls or rather wails, speak to you all later BEKS (33+5)

ChaCha · 30/09/2005 12:33

Beks - The fishing sounds fantastic, I remember doing something similar as a child. Hopefully you'll be able to give me some hints & tips on such games and activities nearer the time.
LOL @ Ben and the cupboard, kids are funny!

Rodeo - I love the name Imogen but DH turned his nose up at that one too. I think it's a beautiful name and if you all agree on it would be lovely. As for Phoebe, for those of you sharing the same age, I have images of 'Phoebe' from Neighbours - a very long time ago! Probably because it's the only Phoebe i ever heard of.

BoB - Are you visiting your folks then or staying local?

Woke up feeling pretty good but have since been sick and the hip/back pain has started. Friend coming round for lunch has been given list (mother hubbard here again) and will attempt to make simple toasties, just do not have the energy. Have a full house tonight too and just want to crawl under covers...I think i best lay off the roast chicken crisps!

Well, have had my moan now. Ta x

Diege · 30/09/2005 12:33

Hello all!
Very envious of Wagamama meet-up! Mmm, noodles and chicken, yum! I am north-based, and could maybe make MeadowHall Twinkle/Karma/Rodeo?? Only thing is that I don't drive, but could make it on train I'm sure from Piccadily? Would prefer before baby comes, but that doesn't leave long for Rodeo!! Can't believe just how close it is for you!BTW love 'Piper'! Think it's really cute, without being too 'cool', but then I do like the slightly unusual (second dd 'Scarlett'). This time it's Liberty for a girl, and Louie for a boy (really like Noah, but DH's having none of it!
tex111: love Theodora - on my list too, as I think Dora is really cute, plus a 'strong' name for a woman with its history. Also love Mathilda. Sarah Sausage - now you've got 'ars' in your mind (so to speak)it will always linger! We liked Oliver for a boy, but our surname is Wood, so worried about 'olly wood' teasing!!
Thanks for everyone's good wishes re: my stresses! Now firmly in shopping/decluttering mode. Thanks BOB re: info' on your experiences of echogenic focus. They decided mine was borderline heart/liver, but like your consultant said that they ususally mean nothing, and it's only the new machines that actually find them. My sonographer said they see them all the time on adults, and never even report them, they are so common, and found it odd that we seem so surprised to see them in babies!
Twinkle, if piles are still a problem, try my midwives reommendation (Scheriderm ointment) - literally clears them up within an hour - really!! Not sure if you need it on prescription, or can be bought over the counter? She also recommends 'pushing them back in' TMI!!!!!!
Beks, I'm putting my money on 8th Nov for me, as both my girls were 5 days early. From memory, recall your DS was a lot earlier though? Had a sweepstake last night with girlfriends on date/weight, but had to draw the line when they wanted to gamble on the degree tear I would have!!
Karma: Have been thinking about labour wear too. For my second I grabbed same nightshirt as with n0.1, but to my horror when putting it on in labour ward found it was far too tight. This time have got a black maternity nightie from Boots that's really comfy, and can only be an inprovement on hospital gowns! LOL re: Sheila Kitzinger. The petal analogy doesn't quite cut it!
Diege 33+5.

pinkminx79 · 30/09/2005 13:44

i'm at work, and busy but not as stressed as yesterday which is good as i've been getting painful BH's, one when i got here at 830, then one fifteen mins later, then one at lunchtime. Its all crampy like period pain, me no like

hope everyone else is doing well

i dont think she's gonna stay in here till nov11th...am i being silly?

xx

rodeo1 · 30/09/2005 15:11

Afternoon all,

Diege, would be great if you could make it to the meet-up, may not be til the new year, but we'll have to do it!

Anyone got a good deal on a bouncing cradle? Went to Costco today to get one but they'd sold out! Hmph...did get a breast pump though from Babies r us. More shopping tomorrow then I suppose

Is it another takeaway night for everyone tonight?! Hmmm, what to have? Chinese? Curry? Sorry!!

Had some BH today too, Pink, crampy period type pains, horrid! Settled down now though.

Karma, good luck with the move - hope it goes smoothly! My friend moved the other day, only about a mile away, their removal lorry broke down at 10am 200 yards down the road and they didn't manage to move it til 6pm !!

Right, better go, baby is driving me mad with all her squirming at the mo, I'm sure she's headbutting my bladder! And can't get that Kanye West song out of my mind either for some reason!!

OP posts:
BEKsmum · 30/09/2005 15:17

Hi ya back again, hve finally got Ben down for a sleep, he must be poorly as he never sleeps during the day now!

Pinkminx the BH's sound normal, they do hurt and can take your breath away for a second or two until you get used to them. It's just your body preparing itself and you for what's to come. If it wasn't painful they wouldn't call it labour. You'd be surprised how much your body can take and I'm sure your little bundle will hang on in there as long as you try to get as much rest as poss, this is your body's way of telling you to slow down now, if you're worried though call your mw, she'll be able to put your mind at rest.

Just to make you laugh I can remember being in the bathroom when I was carrying Ben and having a bad BH and being sick at the same time, as my morning sickness had come back, I felt like a christmas cracker that was being pulled from both ends!!!

Diege loved Olly Wood, but that would be wicked, we've changed our girls middle name as the initials spelt ELK i.e. a moose - now that would have been cruel
As for a date I'm reckoning on week beginning 17th October for this one as Ben was three weeks early and I've blown up like a balloon over the last couple of weeks and am just waiting to see what the mw says at my 34 week appointment next Thursday, it all went pear shaped at 36 weeks last time, so we'll just have to wait and see!!! If I get it right & can hold off for another week I could have it during half term so won't have to worry about getting Ben to pre-school, ever practical
Can't have it before the 15th though as that's Dh's birthday and I'd hate for him to have to share it, b'days are special and should be treated as such, as you can tell we're both still big kids really!!!

Chacha, hope you're feeling better hun, yah boo sucks to the sickness. Hope it goes away as quickly as it came.

Enthusia sorry to hear your feeling so rough too, hope a relaxing weekend makes it all better.

Right am going to go and put my feet up for a while as bub's head is stuck under my ribs and is really uncomfortable sitting here. Beks

BEKsmum · 30/09/2005 15:19

Sorry Rodeo, our posts crossed, I've got a Costco near me if they have the bouncer next time I go do you want me to get you one, not sure how much it would cost to post though? Beks

pinkminx79 · 30/09/2005 15:39

thanks for the tips girls! Been getting BH's for a while, they've just been getting a tad more painful, i should take it easy now huh? well, i finish work in 2 weeks so i can get loads of rest YAY!!!!

ChaCha · 30/09/2005 15:54

How was the lunch ladies? Did Nova make the meet up? She hasn't been on here for a few days, hopefully is just resting or gone on a surprise trip somewhere. Maybe the cats are poorly? Hope everything is okay.

Pinkminx - you must be counting the days till you stop working. I was doing that from the moment I knew I was pregnant!

Thanks Beks - feeling much better now, 3 toasties later and 2 'small' bottles of coke. Lunch at home with friend was really nice and we only spoke about babies/motherhood once which was really nice - made me feel like the old me again.

Really should be doing stuff...I can't move my butt.

pinkminx79 · 30/09/2005 16:08

HEHE yeah, i'm counting the days definately!!

i've worked out i have baby in
6weeks
42days
1008hours

am i obsessed or what???? LOL

goldenoldie · 30/09/2005 16:09

Nova, Tessasmum - good to meet you for lunch today. Sorry no one else could make it.

Tessa is soooooooo cute, and very protective towards her 'baby'! There was no way she was going to let Nova kiss baby!

Nova - you look good girl. Love the hair, and I'm very jealous you can still get into your jeans! Bet you will be back in pre-bay clothes within weeks of giving birth.

Tessasmum - 10 out of 10 for being organised. Was there anything you did not have in that rucksack? I counted:
sandwich for Tessa
drink for tessa
snack for tessa
colouring book
pencils
dolly
change of clothes
purse

Did you get the socks you were looking for in Gap?
