I'm [shocked] and Angry for those of you who have had problems at work because of being pregnant. Your boss is not only an asshole and a hypocrite but is also breaking the law petitech.

Poor you supersunnyday I've done that several times. I can remember thinking that I would feel like that for ever but I'm 13 weeks now and am feeling so much better. I think it's going to take a couple more weeks to get 100% and to be able to eat a proper meal but nearly there. Give it a few weeks and I'm sure you'll get there.

Glad you've finally got your scan date 8rubberducks, what a palaver (sp?!) though.

knackered76 · 30/11/2010 12:09

Just another quick one, cep seem to remember you had a scan/appointment at epu today, fingers crossed it all goes well.

sasamaxx · 30/11/2010 12:56

Thanks for the good luck messages Smile
Scan was fantastic - really clear and lovely. I'm measuring 13+4 so they might move my EDD to 3rd June - suppose I'll find out at next antenatal appt. Just one baby in there and something the sonographer said made me think that it's a boy. She said:
'Mmmmmm so you have one of each gender already then?' and I said 'yes' and she just sort of said 'hmmmmm' which made me think that she has seen something that meant she knew which it was. (and that must mean a boy)
Or maybe my deductions are a bit obsessive....???

Anyway - so so happy about this. My sister has her initial appt for IVF (ICSI or something) tonight so really hope that all goes OK for her too Smile

Good luck to anyone else with scans today - It's going to take me hours to trawl through everything I missed when I was away for 3 days so bear with me

Congratulations on your scans monica, moomin and sasamaxx. 8rubberduckies I can't believe it! Thank god you've finally got a scan booked though. Roll on next Tuesday :)

supersunny we've both got our next scans on the same day (16th?). Feels like an age...

Sorry you have projectile vomit too ... I have had my fair share of that in the last week but apart from sicking up half my weetos yesterday morning I have been sick free for two days now. Felt pretty dodgy last night after DH made himself some chicken kievs and the house smelled of garlic but held my dinner in (to be fair, it was ciabatta bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil - all I could face). But

petitech what an absolute disgrace. Have you told your boss you're perfectly within your rights to get pregnant and that he is legally obliged to allow you to go part-time if it is feasible for the company? I know he'll try to argue it isn't feasible, but I bet it is ...

My work is a uni so they're pretty geared up for stuff like this. Having said that, I haven't told them yet. I've been here for 15 months but only on the payroll since 1st September so I qualify for maternity leave but to everyone else I'm a total newbie. Leaving it until after Christmas so it won't be such a shock to people. Am also going to try to be considerate about when I take maternity leave to try to make sure it doesn't inconvenience them too much. Already shifted one of my modules to the second semester - just told the timetabler that autumn 'was no longer workable for me' Grin. God knows what he thought of that!

takethatlady · 30/11/2010 13:44

That 'But' was meant to say 'But I'm feeling a lot better at the moment than last week, trying not to worry and enjoy it. Also googled and it says that it can subside at 10-12 weeks (am 10 weeks today) so am clinging onto that!

cep · 30/11/2010 14:16

hi everyone, not such good news for me i'm afraid. The baby had gone, they think it died just after 7 weeks so would have been just after my last bleed scan. I'm in on friday afternoon for the op. Part of me knew i think, i've been saying for a while to dh that i'm convinced there was something wrong, but i still never really expected it, i just thought i was being stupid.

I wish you all the very best of luck with the pregnancies and for happy healthy babies.

8rubberduckies · 30/11/2010 14:43
