Hi girls. I'm totally, totally rubbish at everything at the moment :( I don't think I've posted since the second thread! But I've been trying to keep up each day bar the last week.
I hope that I haven't missed anything important that I should mention this week.

I've been having a major de-clutter as we live in a tiny 1.5 (!) bed cottage and we need every bit of space we can lay our hands on as we can't move until March 2012!!

Sorry in advance for the pre-rant!

Saw midwife on Friday - she did my initial assessment. She's booked me a scan on the 13 Dec. I'm pretty pissed off as I went to the docs at 4 weeks - sent off a form to the midwives and had to phone up to get my initial assessment. I'm really disappointed my scan is in another 2 weeks as I'm so stressed to know if everything is OK Angry . Will be 12 weeks on Tuesday and 14 by the time I'm scanned.

Anyone else being scanned so much later on?

knackered76 · 28/11/2010 07:58

Cameli Love Matilda (that was my first choice until we decided it had to be a J!) and love Noah but it sounds rubbish with my last name, hence ds ended up being Jasper instead!

Looseleaf - congratulations and welcome :)

Nurse - I was asked by family last time if it was planned, friends weren't quite so rude! It is a strange thing being pregnant, people seem to believe that all of a sudden you become public property and it's fine to say anything to you and touch you Shock. I'm going to get myself an electric cattle prod to warn anyone who tries that with me this time Wink

Mummy2 - hope today's less bleeding for you. I know you're sort of used to it now but what a pain for you :(

Barbie - I like Gabrielle :)

Adding to the already discussed surnames, I changed mine to dh's when we got married but seeing as I changed only the first 2 letters of my last name it didn't seem that big a deal to me Grin

Cameli - sure ds will come round, bit of a shock for him to get his head round :)

And on the popular name front, if you love it go with it! My friend for as long as I have known her wanted Joshua for a boy, by the time she had one it was one of the most popular names are she really ummmed and ahhhed about giving it to him but it's the only boys name she always wanted so did :) You have to love the name you give your baby and who cares if others have it, they aren't yours Grin

knackered76 · 28/11/2010 08:05

namechanged - my scan is at 13+3 if that helps. I'm just in the time to get the nuchal fold done. It's pretty rubbish having to wait for so long. Early pregnancy care can be rubbish in so many places, you're just left to your own devices until it's considered more 'significant' Hmm. Fingers crossed all the decluttering keeps you amused for the next couple of weeks and it flies by :)

Nurse & MrsBigW - am Shock at people asking you if your pregnancy was planned, but even more ShockShock at the woman in the gym - what did you say to her, MrsBigW!!

Carmeli - good luck telling the rest of your family, I guess your DS must be coming around to the idea if he is suggesting names Smile

Welcome Looseleaf Smile

And welcome back [namechanged] my 12 week scan will be at 13+1, that is by the dates I got on a scan I had earlier - we did pay for a private scan at around 10weeks.

Is anyone else getting tummy aches as well as sickness? I seem to have a tummy ache most mornings!

I know they say ligaments soften so that's probably the cause but has anyone elses jaw started clicking/clunking? Not sure what the correct word is as I've never had it before but it's not nice at all and makes my jaw ache, only on the right side.

One of my friends has a 3yo boy and 20m twin girls and she has found it really hard so I'm expecting her to ask me if my dc3 was planned, not sure how to respond...

BarbieLovesKen · 28/11/2010 09:41

Namechange my first offical scan is at 17+3 and its on the same day I start my transfer job so I really think Im going to have to move it. At this rate I might get one before the baby is born.

I paid for a private one at 9ish weeks but am very nervous and "need" another. Am 14+1 now.

Hi all
Not posted for a few days as have had tough time. When they say your ligaments soften in PG, believe it! I slipped climbing over a stile and sprained my ankle. Had to sit in the mud for 10 minutes as felt so dizzy and sick with no-one around to help. Hobbled home and ankle now like a cross between a blue grapefruit and corned beef and very painful...never happened to me before.
Then had some friends staying over w/e who were kind enough to buy a thai takeaway...took one bite of a sticky rib and felt something was wrong. Anyway, spent the night shivering and sweating and being sick, heart going double speed. Now terrified for health of little one and waiting for scan on Saturday with a bit of dread. Feeling very down
Hope everyone else is having a better time. Any new happy scans?

SofaKitten · 28/11/2010 10:17

Can any of you lot reassure me?

Just about 10 weeks and for the last week my morning (evening/all day) sickness has been getting better, my boobs aren't so sore, and today I think they are down a bit as well...

Anyone?

bananarama05 · 28/11/2010 10:26

namechanged I called the hospital to chase up my scan as had heard nothing at 11 and a half weeks and wanted the nuchal and found out they'd only booked it in the day before so I was lucky to get in the next week I suppose.

mumno2 hope today's a better day for you and things are looking up.

millie I've had a clicky jaw, I've had it a few time previously pre pg but it's been much worse recently, clicking every time i chew some days, very annoying!!

SSD perhaps the almonds set something off? DP's mum loves game but totally went off it during pg as made her really really sick every time she had it, she struggles with it now. She also went from having rare steak to massively well done again becuase it made her feel so ill, i assume this was post pg but it was almost 30 years ago so it may have been during i suppose, not sure on the "advice" back then regarding meat.

Some gorgeous name suggestions on here, loving Alfie and Jasmine and Gabrielle/a, sure there's more but have a bit of brain mush today!

DP is nagging to get it all public now (am 13+1 now), funeral is tomorrow so after that there's no real reason not to tell family. I know it's stupid but the thought of telling the parents terrifies me, even though I know they'll be so happy, stupid eh? Blush Said to DP I feel like I might as well make a big sign saying "yes dad I really do have sex" as thats all I can think of!!!

bananarama05 · 28/11/2010 10:29

sofakitten my symptoms are very on and off, around 9 weeks ms calmed down but then would be back with a vengance the next day - still is, boobs were only sore for a bit around 6 weeks, now they're just bloody massive and getting in the way, but then again no bigger than they were before I was sticking to WW pre-pg so could be down to stodge being the only thing i want to eat these days.

I have no doubt the ms will be back for you too and you'll be wondering why you wanted it back at least a little bit Smile

SofaKitten · 28/11/2010 10:35

Thanks Banana!

Mummynumber2 · 28/11/2010 11:23

Oh my goodness Jasmine. I hope you're ok. Have you been to a and e, if only to get your ankle checked out. Maybe you could mention you're pregnant and see what they say? The sickness could well have been morning sickness.

sofakitten maybe your ms is just getting better, I'd make the most of it! A fried if mine with each of her 3 pregnancies had bad ms up to 8 weeks, then it just stopped. I think it's very common for hormone levels to fluctuate a lot though.

Thanks everyone, bleedings calmed down a lot now and dp's prescribed me a day in bed Grin.

Mummynumber2 · 28/11/2010 11:27

supersunnyday good luck to your sister on her path to becoming a sm! Along with all parenting I'm sure, it can be very stressful at times and did take some adjusting to. But I absolutely love being a sm and am v lucky that my dsc's are so lovely.

knackered76 · 28/11/2010 11:35

Jasmine poor you :( Hope you get to feel a bit better today. Agree with mn2 that the sickness feeling could be morning sickness back with avengeance. I've been ill this last week, not being able to breath properly, coughing so my chest and stomach felt like they were going to explode, being really cold then hot etc. I know it's hard not to worry, especially considering all you have been through, but the chances of something being really wrong are quite small. Having said all that I know you won't relax until your next scan so keep yourself rested and your mind occupied. Big hugs and hope you feel better soon.

Sofakitten - Mine completely eased off by 9 weeks, since then I've had 2 positive scans so fingers crossed all is well with you. I know it's so hard not to worry . . . . .what fun this pregnancy lark is!

MN2 - a day in bed, sounds like just the thing :) Glad you're feeling a bit better.

Bananarama hope everything goes okay tomorrow, will be thinking of you. As for telling parents, felt just the same, more embarrassed to admit I'd had sex!

Jasmine - poor you hope you are resting that ankle!

Sofakitten - my ms comes and goes, I can be ok for a couple of days and then it returns with a vengeance! It can be very variable from woman to woman, even pregnancy to pregnancy! I still feel very tired.

Leroy - yes with the thick snow and the cold makes it very treacherous out!

Banana - perhaps it is what your family needs, is some nice news. I hope everything goes okay with your nan's funeral tomorrow.

BarbieLovesKen · 28/11/2010 14:13

Jasmine you poor thing, as if being pregnant isnt enough on its own! hope your resting up as much as possible. I sprained my ankle a few years back and dont think peoople realise how painful it is so you really have my sympathy.

Sofa try not to worry (I know thats easeier said), you have to remember that most people dont have morning sickness for 9 months (except the unfortunate few) and its widely known that ms is ususally at its worse during the first trimester so with that logic, it has to ease off/ stop at some stage!! With the exception of this pregnancy, 10 weeks sounds normal enough to me to start feeling a little better. Actually with (very healthy) ds, I felt abit queasy between weeks 6 and 8 and was perfect after that. Theres no rule. Also, even though I've hyperemisis, Ive found that even that eases at times and I think its gone. I really wouldnt worry.

Poor DS is really full of cold. His nose is running like a tap and hes now developed a cough. Hes up since 6 which is very unlike him (you could time him to wake at 8.10am!!) and I think its because hes finding it difficult to breathe through his blocked nose. I know your not supposed to give babies a pillow until they are over a year but I have used a tiny one of dds from when she was a toddler to prop his head slightly higher than his body and it seems to be helping. Hes such a wee dote. I know hes feeling miserable, with his little sickly eyes but he still smiles through it all. Will bring him to Docs first thing.

DH is working today, he doesnt usually have to work Sundays so will be off tomorrow so is just myself and the kids. Have a serious amount of cleaning to do. My house is seriously starting to reseamble something off How Clean is Your House and I promised myself Id start to get really organised as returning to work in 3 weeks and have my Xmas exams coming up too!!.

Anyone sorting Santa out yet?

motherofsnortpigs · 28/11/2010 14:14

jasmine bleugh! If it's any comfort, your body was expelling the bad stuff :-/ I always get something yuk when pg. It's because of suppressed immunity in pregnancy. If you can keep down any paracetamol, it's a good idea to try and control any fever. Baby is probably fine - they are very tough. Thinking of you.

NurseSunshine · 28/11/2010 15:29

Oh dear sorry to hear that Jasmine, plenty of R.I.C.E!

Good idea to take the week off MN2. Put yourself first :)

Well Sod's Law and all that - been throwing up this afternoon!

... Guess I just had a good morning - but boy was it great to feel normal for a bit!

takethatlady · 28/11/2010 17:53

sofa I know how you feel. Went to my dad's last night and was full of the joys of feeling great (and also inwardly panicking despite still having sore boobs) and I actually ate a huge steak sandwich with mustard, ciabatta bread, mushrooms, tomato, and a lovely salad. Two hours later I was heaving up meat chunks and today I have even had a major disagreement with some peanut butter on toast, which was the only thing I liked for a while there.

We have GOT to learn to enjoy the good days!

Am 10 weeks tomorrow. Am going to tell myself that the minute it eases off that's a good thing. As long as I can have Christmas dinner I don't care!

jasmine get well soon :)

SofaKitten · 28/11/2010 18:03

Ooh yes we should be fine by Christmas dinner - but are we allowed white stilton?

Hmmmm
