Thanks for the bump thoughts and comparisons.
I do feel it's quite high mrsbigw - only 6 days until scan day now lol. Thanks for the nice comment about being slim - I deliberately cut off my double chin and made sure it was a flattering angle Wink lol.
petitech I can't see your scan photo - did you make it private? I've put on about 10lbs as well (at a guess) - we really are pregnancy twins lol.
banana can't believe that colleauge Shock
moomin at least you still have stomach muscles Wink

moomin156 · 24/11/2010 22:32

sasamaxx i dont think i do have any tummy muscles...at 38 and no exercise regime they are completly shot already LOL

KaraStarbuckThrace · 24/11/2010 22:49

You have a lovely bump Sassamax - it will show more on you because you are so slim anyway.

I would still be surprised if you are not having twins!

My mum was quite slim when she had me, and didn''t really show until she was about 7 months but when she had my twin brothers she showed very early on!

moomin156 · 25/11/2010 09:04

Morning everyone. Hope everyone has a lovely day. Im off Xmas shopping with mom........think its about time i got started :)

misshoohaa · 25/11/2010 09:22

Hi everyone, sorry I couldn?t get on last night.
The scan was amazing, the little thing looked like a really baby and was body popping and waving at us, a bit cheeky and kept rolling away from the screen so took ages to get measurements but I was happy just watching him/her jump around. DP was so excited to and it has made it feel so much more real. I said to DP afterwards that it was the best 20 minutes of my life, which he then corrected me and said ?surely the 20 seconds where we made him were best!? with a cheeky wink!
I?m convinced it?s a boy after seeing it, no idea why but just the way it was behaving had boy all over it. I?m trying to refer to it as her sometimes, but keep saying ?he was?, ?he is?! Bit odd but referring to it as a ?thing? now that I?ve seen it seems really odd.

My due date is the 11th so I am 12 weeks exactly on Saturday, not sure when to start telling people, I?ll see what kind of mood my boss is in today!

MissHoohaa Grin Grin Grin Fab news on the scan!

Leroy I second your Shock but fantastic! Maybe he had no idea how he was making you feel and once you let him know he realised losing you wasn't what he wanted (that and getting a job, fab news for him :))

Sasamaxx - call that a bump? My bump could eat your bump for breakfast! If I ever work out how to upload, that and take a photo, I shall show you what I mean :)

Barbie hope you have a better day today. Sorry you're having such a rubbish time at work. You'll just have to take the moral high ground and focus on the fact you are better then them, and you're growing a baby which makes you even more superior :)

moomin Happy xmas shopping :) I have done all mine but only because ds is on the 11th and dh on the 24th so all a bit manic and need to be organised!

Happy thursday and good luck anyone who has a scan today, think that's you TTL :)

Mummynumber2 · 25/11/2010 09:52

bananarama still lucozade sport drinks (in the squeezy bottles) doesn't have any caffeine in it. I was drinking loads of it until I worked out it was what was giving me the runs! I'm sure there's no harm in a bit of caffeine but I'm very sensative to it so avoid completely, even before pregnancy.

Leroy I'm so pleased the chat with your DP did the job and it's working out well for you. It's also great that other members of his family are being supportive, even if his mum isn't!

Hello Frida and congratulations!

Congratulations Misshoohaa! It's the most amazing thing isn't it. Did you get a good picure? I've always found that the prnt offs are never as clear as the images on the screen. I'm also absolutely convinced mine's a boy, for no particular reason at all. I have to keep correcting myself when talking to my DSCs.

knackered76 · 25/11/2010 09:55

Sorry, forgot to say welcome Frida and congratulations Blush. It's lovely to be here and talking to lots of people about our pregnancies and there are a few of us who have told hardly anyone!

cep · 25/11/2010 09:56

Sorry i didn't come back on last night desperately needed an early night after ds kept us awake through most of the night with what we now know is an ear infection.

sasamaxx i now use the glider for reading to him on and is very nice when he's upset to cuddle and rock. it came with a glider foot rest which is very bizarre to use. Love the piccie, i don't think i'll ever actually look pregnant just fatter. Am pretty sure thats all i looked last time. I can't remember the name of the dvd and i can't find it either. it's te one that came in the bounty pack from the midwife, it's pretty much all about bf.

misshoohaa that's great news about the scan, i can't wait to have mine - still no blasted appointment letter.

leroy so please dp has picked up finally, maybe it was just the worry of being out of work with a baby on the way that was making him act like that.

Welcome frida was it? sorry i can't go back to the other page to check, congratulations and welcome to the group.

Hi all - I know I don't post much but have been constantly lurking and follow every day. Must try to post more.

Congrats on the scan misshoohaa and I hope you have a better day today barbie

sasamaxx I feel exactly the same as knackered... I'm only 11 weeks and think my bump must be twice the size of yours! Need to tell work this week but I'm pretty sure they'll have worked it out already.

Also I know it's ridiculously early but I'm fairly certain I've felt the baby moving this week. I felt it really early with dd1 (14 weeks) so perhaps I'm not going completely mad? dh thinks it must be indigestion but I think when you know you know. 2nd time round you're more aware of it and also know exactly what to expect. It's so lovely Smile

sasamaxx · 25/11/2010 11:06

moomin bet your stomach muscles are still better than mine though Wink

misshoohaa congrats on your lovely scan Smile

cep I have long lusted after one of those gliders - I've tried a rocking chair (too hard and digs into your back) and an ordinary chair for night-feeding and have spent a lot of time perched on the ottoman and giving myself a sore back and sore arms. Just cannot justify the cost though Sad

karastarbuck - I know what you mean about twins - I really feel it's high and protruding more than other pregnancies.
knackered and humania - the more I look at that photo, the more I think it's quite bump-minimising. It really does look bigger than that in real life - think DH was taking it at a funny angle. Might try to get a more realistic one.

humania - I was certain I was feeling movement that early too - have you had a scan yet? any chance of twins?

Good luck with your scan today takethatlady

I think we need more photos of bumps and scans on here Wink

neenewps · 25/11/2010 11:26

Are you only able to upload photos to your profile? Looks like there isn't anywhere else for them to go...

I have started taking weekly photos and I think I am going to start a journal. Is that sad Hmm

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 11:57

neenewps that's not sad! That's lovely Smile

Congratulations misshooha so glad everything went well for you. Ours was great too. The sonographer was a bit pissed off because she said 'you're 14 weeks - have you any idea why this is so late?' to me before she started scanning, and I said 'well I think I'm actually only 9-10 weeks because I have really long cycles'. And then she seemed a bit annoyed and asked why I'd come so early. But I told my doctor and he said they wouldn't take my dates and would only go on LMP! I told her this and she was fine with it but it was a bit weird.

Anyway, then was the lovely bit, with the wriggly arms and legs and the heartbeat. DH was very shocked it looked so recognisably human and was moving so much! Am 9+3 weeks (so I was only a day out Smile), and that also means I get to go back again on 16th December for another scan because I opted for the nuchal. So that's great - it'll be brilliant to have another scan before Christmas. Also the hospital are doing research into better predicting outcomes for expectant mothers so I agreed to be part of it. It basically means I get extra scans at 28 and 36 weeks (and a free photo with each) and have to have a couple of extra blood tests. DH has to give a swab from his cheek. He thought for about 2 seconds about making a fuss of this but one glare from me was enough Wink

Only downside of all this was that the sonographer then said 'You'll probably want a photo next time then won't you?' to which we both automatically said yes, not quite realising that meant we wouldn't get one this time. So we're kicking ourselves now. If she'd said 'would you like a photo?' we would have said yes, but the way she put it and in the emotion of the moment we didn't put our feet down ... damn!

Anyway, thrilled that all is well so far. Can someone remind me what the odds are of success now we've seen a heartbeat?
xxx

neenewps · 25/11/2010 12:19

ttl thanks... and CONGRATULATIONS on your scan. So very pleased for you and infact everyone that has had good news recently.:)

So have they dated you the same then ttl?? Around 27th June? I think I am 9+4 so we are very close together although I have a short cycle so they may date me differently... who knows!

Quick question... I have had ms but not actual vomiting, just nausea and general feeling of crapness at times! I just weighed myself and I have actually lost weight?? I am eating normally... I'm wondering if it is the giving up of the booze? Also my job involved a lot of nightshifts, so I did eat more then I guess. Just had a bit of a panic!

My boobs still hurt an insane amount so I'm not worried about lack of symptoms particularly. Sorry about the me me post.. Blush

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 25/11/2010 12:22

Now throwing up since Tuesday morning here!! am attempting a solo trip to the supermarket this afternoon (wish me luck) to pick up a few supplies. Mmm croissants. Don't think this weight lose is going to last long!!Grin

Good news on the scan TTL and very cool for letting yourself be a research guinea pig.

Sorry for missing others, still trying to catch up (as usual!)

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 12:23

neenewps I read that it is totally normal to either lose or gain a few pounds in the first trimester. Sure it's nothing to worry about Smile

KaraStarbuckThrace · 25/11/2010 12:32

newneeps - my weight has remained steady which for me is a good thing!

Misshoohaa - great news about your scan!

Leroy - lovely to hear your DP is now hqappy and is treating you better, is your MIL still nutty though?

Got my dating scan appt for next wednesday :D
