That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

I am ok thanks mrsFC the pain is still there but quite mild, just a little twinge in my back which started about half an hour after I ate breakfast. Seems to be the script, pain proportionate to richness of food. But then I could just be projecting.

score I've been having the headaches too, but not as bad as yours sound, poor love. I realised I hadn't been drinking enough because water was making me balk so have upped my intake of ribena/watery juice and that seems to have helped.

rocketleaf · 14/11/2010 13:24

Sorry cross post Ockie congratulations, thats REALLY fast! What a fab birth date, I have a bit of an obsession with number pattern dates. Hope you are all settling in,

MrsFC · 14/11/2010 13:26

okie - CONGRATULATIONS! What a lovely fast birth! Hope you are all doing well & no one is too sore x

Scorpette · 14/11/2010 13:27

YAY for Okie and her CokieBaby! That was impressively quick Envy Hope you and your rare PESH-girl are doing well. Smooches to all :)

PS Re: dehydration - I drink between 1.5 - 2.5 L a day, so I doubt it's that. I wonder if I'm sleeping funny and it's posture-based. Mmmm, I can't wait to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow and wait 600 hours in the hospital, half-crazed with sleep deprivation and a throbbing headache, for my scan. The scan itself, however, I am insanely excited about Grin

TYF is watching the Grand Prix (which is really soothing my head, NOT). It's the only thing he ever asks to watch, so I'm happy to tolerate it.

Muser · 14/11/2010 13:40

Is it scan day tomorrow then Scorps? I thought it was the 17th for some reason. What time is the scan so we can send many ESH thoughts your way?

OP posts:
Scorpette · 14/11/2010 14:01

9am is the time on the letter. But it says I could be waiting 2-3 hours, even though 9am is the first app. of the day, so I suspect they tell everyone 9am and then they have some sort of system where they chose who goes in when (grrr). Send me your bestest ESH luff from 9am onwards! Cheers, Muse :)

PS Just opened a mag and the article was all about a 35+ woman who went for a scan and discovered, well, awfulness. V helpful and cheering Confused Hmm

Muser · 14/11/2010 15:00

They might be doing emergencies in the morning as well, which could explain the need to wait. I hope they don't keep you waiting too long.

Will be sending lots of good vibes your way. Do not read magazine stories, just remember that the story where everything is perfect is more common and less dramatic.

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 14/11/2010 15:09

Loads of luck for tomorrow, sure everything will be perfect. hope you're not waiting too long!

Scorpette · 14/11/2010 15:13

I am ignoring all scare stories, cheers. Am going to make flapjacks so, if I'm waiting ages, I can 'force' myself to eat some, ahem Wink Can't wait to see my baybeeeeeeeeee!

MrsFC · 14/11/2010 15:17

Lots & lots of ESH vibes for your scan score. I think waiting is sometimes inevitable - my last MW appointment was at 10.40 and I was finally seen at midday! But as muse said - I tried to remember that the emergencies were more important than me, and it was on one of my days off, so at least I wasn't late for work or anything!

Scans are scary and exciting all at once. Bet TYF & you shed a tear - I know I did, and even the FC looked impressed!

MrsFC · 14/11/2010 15:19

Any chocolate left for me muse? Had my power nap. Is it me, or are the rest of you finding that slepping just makes you feel even more achey and tired these days? The joys of the 3rd trimester! ONLY WEEKS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!

CurlyCasper · 14/11/2010 15:23

congrats reggie!

Good luck for tomorrow scorps. Hope you get a good look. x

Scorpette · 14/11/2010 15:27

I don't mind waiting to see my baby Of course the emergencies come first, poor things. Besides, if we wait, I'll try to snooze - am currently not falling asleep until @4 am, so I'll have virtually no sleep to get there for 9am!

Muser · 14/11/2010 15:35

TBG went out and bought me a big bar of Cadbury's Caramel, you can have a bit MrsFC. NOT THAT MUCH! Save some for me.

I am currently staring at baby slings and trying to figure out what might be good. I would really like a sling. We are getting a secondhand Baby Bjorn, but I would like one of the more lentil weaving types that I could wear all day like a hippy.

Which of course will mean that Bob loathes the sling and never goes in it. But I can dream!

OP posts:
MrsFC · 14/11/2010 15:59

Ooh, Cadburys Caramel. I shall request that when the FC goes to get his traditional sunday 4 pack. Yum.

I bought a sling for the boy child but never wore it, mainly because of the section, but also because I am a clumsy oaf & was convinced I would trip! I am always amazed when I see those ones I see africam women use where the babies are strapped to their back by a huge sarong - very impressive! But I would then be scared about not being able to see they were ok. PFB alert!

rocketleaf · 14/11/2010 16:48

I like the idea of the Kari Me ones, whether they are at all practical I have no clue, mmm cadburys caramel is my all time favourite!

Muser · 14/11/2010 16:48

I see quite a lot of African women around here with babies strapped to their backs. The babies always look so cute and snuggly.

OP posts:
Muser · 14/11/2010 16:50

Kari-me gets good reviews on the reviews section here rocket. It's the kind I'm looking at, stretchy wraps are meant to be good for newborns and small babies.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 14/11/2010 16:58

OMG! Can't believe all my EDD sistahs have delivered their lovely Pesh babies! moo your boy sounds wonderful! I am blown away by the thought of 9lbs and 9oz (my little sweetheart was 6 and 5oz) so hats off to you and your blue ribbons!

Okie delighted to hear about the safe arrival of your little girl. Seems like it happened very fast in the end! Congratulations and can't wait to hear all about it!

reggie - come back and fill us in! But well done on managing that hugely long labour and hope you are doing well with your lovely son.

Aww. Speck of dust in my eye.

I have been only in and out recently, but was very sorry to hear about job redundancies. That sucks big time and seems monstrously unfair. Sad Hope it will turn out to be a new and better beginning for those peshes...

laurie great nesw on the scan and scorps hope yours tomorrow will be wonderful too!

All well here. Have worked through most of the breastfeeding issues and babes has been sleeping like an angel.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 14/11/2010 17:02

By the way, silver I was wondering whether we were in fact synchro-birthing because of the time difference? My little one was born at 4.55am here - but that's 3.55am GMT... Was it a dead heat??

Scorpette · 14/11/2010 17:03

Great to hear from you, Witty and glad things are going smoothly :) Cheers for the scan luck

Aw, Cokie's gal has the same RL name as meeeeee! 'Tis the primo choice for all fab Scorpio lasses Grin Top name taste there, Okie

CluckyKate · 14/11/2010 17:04

Wow Okie - that was blimmin' quick....beats Boxer's time I reckon. Massive congrats!!!

This birthing frenzy puts me 5th on the list - eeek Shock!!!!!

Good news stories don't sell magazines Scorps, despite being the norm. Good luck for the scan though.

Muser · 14/11/2010 17:26

I am 7th on the list. I refuse to believe that can be true.

But PollyPooinmypocket is SECOND. And mas FIRST. How does it feel ladeez? Do you need some random violence to take your minds off it?

OP posts:
MrsFC · 14/11/2010 17:38

Lets stretch this fred out so the list doesn't move...

TwinkleToes76 · 14/11/2010 17:56

Salad and Muse - I have a kari-me sling. They're pretty good, if expensive, and the other half liked it too. We used it all the time in the first few months and it never failed to send my daughter to sleep. Fairly easy to breast feed them in as well. Only complaint was the length of the thing - had to wrap it around several times and tie a large bow, so got a bit sweaty! But it meant my mum, who has a big belly and the most enormous breasts, could use it comfortably too! I quite like the look of the hug-a-bub ones too, which seem a bit neater. Baby Bjorns, on the other hand, just killed my back. I hated it and only used it a couple of times before selling it.

Good luck with the scan tomorrow Scorps, hope you get a lovely pic.
