That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

Wooo! Blooming firing them out in the Deli at the moment, :o Congratulations reggie

In 'heartburn' news, I have been having what I thought was heartburn for the last week or so but it doesn't feel quite like normal and is off to the right a bit. Anyway its gradually been getting worse and now I can sort of feel it in my back as well. I stupidly asked Dr Google and looks like the closest candidate is "gallbladder disease" Deep joy. I fucking hate google. Need to get some antacids to rule out heartburn but not sure I can be bothered to go back out today. :(

AlpinePony · 13/11/2010 19:05

Call NHS direct or get a doctor out?

MrsFC · 13/11/2010 19:10

Thick & fast with the scorpio babies!! Well done reggie!! Many many congratulations! Hope you are all doing well.

Rockstar could you send out Mr Rock for Rennies? Is it better if you sit up?

Muser · 13/11/2010 20:02

Yay reggie. Mas up next then! And yet another boy for the thread. We do like the boys.

Rocket, chat to a GP ASAP. Don't be a twat like me and put up with pain for ages because the GP brushed me off with bullshit Sad If Dr Google is wrong, that's a relief but if he's right, you defo need to see a Doc. You could be having summat similar to me but in any case, sounds like you might need some drucks

YAY for Reggie and ReggieBaby and YAY for yet more Scorpio childs (The Cult would approve) :)

We need clarification on the strawberry Gav tabs!

BTW, on the pregnancy freds, someone is asking if she really does have to carry her notes everywhere like her MW said. I thought she was taking the piss, like 'what - am I supposed to swim with them under my swimming cap?' but it was serious. Most replies seem to say they carry their notes everywhere. This can't be right, surely? I mean, if I nip to Tesco for the Sunday papers tomorrow, I don't need to pop my notes in my bag for life, do I? Bonkers! Why would you need to carry them with you anywhere except medical meetings concerning your pg? If, God forbid, someone collapsed or whatever, people who rushed to help wouldn't be checking in a woman's bag for MW's notes, would they?!

MrsFC · 13/11/2010 20:38

I don't take mine anywhere except to my appointments...

Scorpette · 13/11/2010 20:39

Well, exactly!

rocketleaf · 13/11/2010 20:39

ahaha scorps seriously? people are taking them with them everywhere? Mine just said I need them for any appointments/scans etc. In fact she gave me the impression that she didn't give them to everyone as they couldn't be trusted to look after them. (tells you a lot about the usual cliental in Bootle :o)

Ok found some Tums, taken two and they have done nothing. (mind you they did go out of date in April 2008 :o) Have done more googling and seems gallbladder problems/stones etc are quite common for the same reason we get sickness and indigestion. God damn progesterone. I will try and get an emergency appointment on monday morning, after that I have to go away with work for a few days so will just have to suffer if I can't get an appointment and avoid anything spicey/rich/fatty until the end of the week. TBH doesn't sound to me like there is much treatment other than a bland diet although it seems acupuncture can help and I still have a couple of sessions in han. Sorry for mememe post, fingers crossed I am just being a mentalist.

Scorps SO glad you have had a pain free day today, that is fab news. I really hope thats the end of it and the sickness clears up soon too.

Medee · 13/11/2010 20:43

jeez, I just take mine if I am leaving the house overnight - otherwise they just stay at home.

Scorpette · 13/11/2010 20:54

RockyBalboa, I have found that eating some natural yoghurt extinguished the fiery pain (sheep or goat's, in my case), so you could try necking some of that and get some in-date Gaviscon or similar? You really need to get it sorted out quickly. The Doc did very apologetically tell me yesterday that I'll have to be checked once I've had the baby to see if it's left some lasting (mild) damage to my oesophagus Sad just because it was so severe and went on without a break for so long. And if it's gallbladder stuff, then defo needs looking at, speshly if you're going away. Not trying to frighten you, just want others to be more sensible than I've been (trying to be well'ard about it, albeit with a lot of moaning).

PS The diet advice for severe reflux is hilarious (ly ridiculous): apart from the obvious, like avoid spicy food, caffeine and citrus, it recommends not eating meat, rice, cheese, potatoes, fruit juice, peppers, tomatoes, various other fruit and veg, not to mix carbs and protein, not to mix protein and dairy, not to eat more than 2 different foods in any meal... I mean, FFS!

Muser · 13/11/2010 21:00

Maybe you could survive on vitamin pills?

Glad you've had a better day Scorps. Rocket definitely go for the docs appointment, soon as you can. Sounds grim.

SilverSky · 13/11/2010 21:05

Yay for more babies !!!! The Spa will need an extension soon to accomodate us all. Not to mention stock up on gin and sambuca.

box are you there? Will one of those t tree and lavender baths also help with my cs incision healing pls to tell.

Scorpette · 13/11/2010 21:12

'Just' having nausea has felt great! I'm about to have what I call a Kid's Meal - hash browns, sausages and beans (all allergy-free, mind)! Ta, Muse :)

rocketleaf · 13/11/2010 21:15

jebus scorps that really doesn't leave much does it? I have been eating a lot of yogurt already as i found it helped with the MS. I can't see the Tums actually being 'off' as there isn't really anything in them to go off (active ingredient is basically a mineral compound so should still work) Just think they have to put a date on em as the I guess eventually the flavour would probably go. I will try some Gav tomorrow but I really don't think it acid reflux. Its funny as its been confusing me as all the things I would normally do to combat indigestion/heartburn haven't been working and then when I read up it really was like a penny dropping. Don't worry, muse I will defo see a Doc on Monday. I am not one to suffer in silence ;-)

let me help you with that crate of gin there lady...

MrsFC · 13/11/2010 21:17

Hash browns, sausages and beans? nom nom nom...

Sorry to hear the tums didn't work pocketrocket, I reckon see the doc as soon as you can, but call NHS to see if they have any practical suggestions.

Backinthebox · 13/11/2010 21:27

Hey Silver! I don't know. I'm fairly sure the tea tree oil is good for all kinds of wounds, but will have to read up about the lavender. Once you are allowed baths I don't see why you shouldn't just bash a bit in it. I think you are healed up enough now to be soaking in a bath rather than splashing in a shower? PS have you seen my news I put in the Spa? I've bought the yellow one subject to survey! Hurray!

rocketleaf · 14/11/2010 10:37

Calendular oil is also good for wounds. And Vitamin E oil is good to reduce scarring, can be applied topically and also taken in water as a 2 pronged attack. reminds me I need to buy some as I think should also work for stretch marks....

Muser · 14/11/2010 12:06

Things I am not doing today:

Getting dressed
Meeting friends for lunch
Leaving the house at all in fact
Doing any housework

Things I am doing today:
Sitting around in pjs watching films
Persuading TBG to cook me a roast dinner

I am exhausted and think I'm getting a cold. I therefore call duvet day. Anyone want to join me? Please to provide extra large bars of chocolate and cake. I have hot chocolate with squirty cream on top.

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 14/11/2010 12:37

Ohh hot chocolate sounds lovely muse I have blown joining your duvet day as already been out to the pet shop to get frontline with a small side trip to Mothercare for our first look at buggy/pram things. Got talked at by a very over enthusiastic sales assistant, although she was very informative, bless her.

I might have to go back to bed tho as the sound of the grand prix is getting on my tits already.

Scorpette · 14/11/2010 12:56

I want to join you so baaaaad but I have to finish a zzzzzzzzzzzzz-some book review for an independent publisher that I've put off for literally months. I have to be really positive, when it's not a good book and I don't even get paid unless they tout it to papers/mags. Hmmmmph.

What's not helping is having had a headache non-stop for the last 3 weeks or so. It's been fairly mild but has been serious since Friday. Dunno if the drucks are making it worse. Kept waking up in near-migraine agony every hour during the night. I realise you can expect to feel rough during the first trimester, but there's not one bit of me that isn't completely fucked! Not fair [sulk]

TYF has gone and got the papers, though and is making us a yummy tea later, so it's not all bad...

MrsFC · 14/11/2010 12:56

Budge up muse, I'm getting in too. The boy child had a friend for a sleepover last night, and they were up at 6am. The FC is still painting the kitchen in readiness for the party next week & is in a DIY grump. I have been to Tesco's & bought ready meal lasagnes.

That is quite enough action for me. I plan to leave the boy child in front of Cartoon Network & the FC painting while I slope off for a power nap. (more like power coma I reckon.) Don't eat all the chocolate before I wake.

How are you feeling today score & pocketrocket?

Muser · 14/11/2010 13:04

Roast dinner plan has been replaced by Toad in the Hole. But that is just fine. Being a Yorkshire man, TBG is good with batter.

rocket I loathe the Grand Prix, thankfully we are not a sporty household.

scorps is the headache maybe dehydration? Drink!

Hello fine ladies of the Deli. Firstly congratluations to my fellow layers moo and her whopper and Reggie and her little fella. Good efforts laydeez! Yes, mini Okie girl was born on my much favoured date of 12.11.10 at 1.18am and was 8lb 140z. She literally flew out (2cm dilated to birth in just under 2 hrs!) Quick births are the biz although it was a bit frantic! Birf story to follow in the land of FESH.

MrsFC · 14/11/2010 13:09

Yup - drink more score!

Muser · 14/11/2010 13:15

Wow Okie, that is a fast arrival. Are you home now? Hope everything is going well.
