That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

OkieCokie · 11/11/2010 13:48

Go ahead Reggie and queue jump away, I allow you! Good luck with Dr and fingers crossed for you. I ideally would like to lay tomorrow as I like the date 12.11.10 but you can have it if you wish

I am sure Moo won't mind me saying but I had a text from her in the middle of the night and her waters had gone. I was in her neighbourhood this morning and drove past her house and car not there so reckon she is ensconced in the hossie now either contracting away or having snuggles. Positive vibes her way please...and I for one am sooo excited to hear her news!

I had appt with new consultant yesterday and he was blabbering on about inducing me next week. Blah blah blah. I was rather dismissive until he started spouting about increased risk of still birth the later you go beyond due date. I agreed to compromise by having scan on Monday to check if placenta is OK etc. I think with my previous birth "experience" they would rather induce but I will see what scan says on Monday before making final decision on whether to agree or continue. He also said I should have had Strep B test, I had kit at home but did not do it Confused as did not take it too seriously. So I rushed home swapped bum and vag and hurried to get it in post for 5pm (made it to PO at 4.59!)

Sorry to hear about the job issue Clucks. Tis indeed shite. Hope you don;t feel too down about it. Chin up and fish slaps to your employer.

OkieCokie · 11/11/2010 13:50

Oh and Scorps I have that you have found your new friend in Gaviscon! I go to bed each night with a liquid sachet!

Muse that is grim! But well done on the discret puking!

PerfectDromedary · 11/11/2010 13:52

Okes Impressed by your surgical skills in swapping your bum & vag...Grin

Hope the induction stuff works out for the best - whatever that turns out to be for you and the baby!

OkieCokie · 11/11/2010 13:55

I used a different swap for bum and vag, not the same one - that would have been grim!

laurielou · 11/11/2010 14:09

Muse I didn't like crab beforehand.......

I need a wee. Scan isn't for 50 mins. And I really need a wee............

Muser · 11/11/2010 14:13

Have a wee! You'll be fine. You're pregnant, you'll need to wee again in 50 minutes.

Backinthebox · 11/11/2010 14:28

Cluck sorry not to have seen this - have been off radar in hospital, but am back now. We will go to pub tonight and unload our woes on each other. I'll buy the drinks if you drive Wink

Reg good luck - am always jealous of people who manage to shave a few days off their pregnancy instead of adding to it.

Muse I once vomitted into my hat at work rather than be photographed doing it in a very public place crawling with paps. (This snippet of info is doubly hilarious if you know what I do and where I was when I vommed. I don't 'do' sick normally, but it was my first day back at work after last mat leave and I think it was a combination of heatstroke, nerves and Terminal 5, which is enough to make most people sick by itself anyway.)

Scorpette · 11/11/2010 17:58

Firstly, I don't want Caspy to be upset about Squeaks - my pain is very severe. Reflux can be mild and Gaviscon is the answer for mild to severe, so it's most likely that she only had a bit of grumbling and the Gav sorted her out. Please don't torment yourself imagining her in agony

Good pluggy luck, Reggie! There's more laying going on than a battery hen house at the mo Grin

Lozzles, good luck too! :)

Muser, you are my new hero - discreet crabby vom on the move? That is truly the work of a Higher Being Wink Seriously, though, that is rubbish, you poor old thing Sad

Well, not even tales of crustacean spew can dampen my mood because THE GAVISCON WORKS! If I am having twins, a boy and a girl, I pledge to call them Gavin and Connie in its honour* Grin I not feel about 75% better and have a minimal amount of nausea, totally manageable. I was with my folks when I bought it and my mum actually had tears in her eyes seeing me perk up so much. Trouble is, I perked up too much - I don't touch sweeteners because they send me mental. I am like a manic toddler after a birthday party on them and Gaviscon is packed with the naughty fuckers! My parents were laughing their heads off at me and we were all riffing hilariously about needing to stage a Gaviscon intervention (complete with impressions of me injecting liquid G) and me screaming for Gaviscon instead of drucks during labour, etc. The worst thing is that my hands feel too light (like if you've trapped a nerve). Still, I'd rather feel crazed than be in pain! Am going to neck some tomorrow and write the 1000 word book review that's due Monday but which I haven't even started yet (whoopsy!) in about 16 minutes (is for a independent publishers, so don't want to let them down)!

Luff you guys

Wow, this is the good shit!

*If I actually do, I shall deny all knowledge of this promise.

Scorpette · 11/11/2010 18:20

In further Gaviscon news, my ginormous bump has now deflated. So it was all bloating from this crap, not OMG_TWINZ (I guess it still could be, sob).

SilverSky · 11/11/2010 18:34

Checking in for baybee news a la ScrummyHoneyMooMama?!?! Tell me she has sneezed and is now delirously in lurve with her ickle babe!!

Howdy to everyone else. Have been to NCT gathering today which was nice. Has slight lack of bump envy as one gal who sneezed two days afore me has no bump but had natural birth and I still look like a bleeding Heffer who is carrying a number of calves still.

Have put a recent pic of the boy in t'other place from yesterday pre first public outing into town! Nine days old.

Anybody else watching Strictly? I can't stand Anne Widdicombe. She makes no effort and it annoys me.

SilverSky · 11/11/2010 18:39

motherhen soz to hear about job loss. Doth suck. Cry away. Its good for the soul. As ponio says soon those tears of sadness and shock will turn to hatred and venom. Tis natural and perfectly acceptable to hate them and wish them all harm ESP where it hurts eg their bank balance. May their shares plummet and their pensions nose dive. Assholes.

rocketleaf · 11/11/2010 19:33

ew, crab cakes, wrong. muse brilliant stealth voming there, you have the skillz.

scorps I am so effing pleased the Gavin&Connie has done the trick. Although I would quite like to punch out your GP for being a fucking dimwit and making you suffer for so long and then find your own diagnosis. Twat.

lozzer hope the scan went well, i know how you feel re: the peeing, the instructions are bloody stupid telling you to drink that much water an hour before hand. My bladder fills in about 45 seconds at the mo. Hope you didn't do a me and an get to the point that you couldn't actually stand up straight to get on the table. :o

Medee · 11/11/2010 22:25

excellent news, Scorps.

Hope Lorrie is OK since her scan.

Muser · 11/11/2010 22:43

Yes, hope you're ok laurie.

I am having a moment of indecision. I was speaking to my mum earlier and mentioned we'd probably be going on a big shopping trip in the New Year to buy all the baby stuff. She asked to come along. I tried to put her off but it didn't quite work.

I can't decide if I'm being mean not wanting her to come along. I just really want it to be me and TBG being all coupley and happy and the two of us. If my mum's there that's not going to work. But she really didn't get the hint.

I am considering making it a weekday trip instead, so she'd be at work. That's mean isn't it? Aaargh. Maybe I can offer her an alternative trip.

God, that's a really pathetic story isn't it?

OP posts:
Medee · 11/11/2010 22:47

Not at all Muse - I am having the same issues allowing my mum to get involved but trying to also keep her a little more distant to give me and MrM the space to do things our way. Had to have a Chat with her about their offer to buy the pram - very but far too generous, and she felt I was rejecting her (though I think I managed to get across where I was coming from without hurting her.) I have compromised on a Mamas and Papas outlet shop visit in the New Year. I guess what I am trying to say is be strong, but also let her in a little bit.

MrsFC · 11/11/2010 22:55

Didn't read your post properly muse, and thought you were off shopping in New York, not the New Year! Would have been easier to go alone if it was... Could you maybe blame TBG and say he's a bit freaked by the whole thing and you would rather it was just the two of you to reduce the fuss ? Completely impressed by neat puking. Completely never eating a crab sandwich again.

honey hope all went well and you are smooching now!

Good news about the Gaviscon score!!

Gonna have to ditch the underwire soon, they are starting to really dig in now...

lorry, hope you're ok xx

Muser · 11/11/2010 22:56

Yes, I don't want to shut her out completely. Her other grandkids live up North so she didn't have the opportunity to get as involved, and they're my brother's kids so I think it's a bit different. This is her chance to be involved in stuff and I would hate to take that away from her completely.

And TBG has just pointed out that he isn't seeing it as quite the fun and lovely day out as I am. He's so practical. So it might be nice to have someone to coo over tiny clothes with. Plus she did say she'd happily go off and shop on her own for a bit if needed.

OP posts:
Medee · 11/11/2010 22:58

you could always do the practical stuff with him, and then do the more fun stuff with her. And I do think there is something different for a mum about a daughter having a baby, than a son.

Muser · 11/11/2010 23:01

And leave him in the book shop? It's not a bad idea. I'd be moaning if she didn't want to get involved. And it's an extra person to carry bags.

OP posts:
SilverSky · 12/11/2010 03:06

And an extra person to sway him when he is not so keen on that must have musical changing mat that only costs a gazillion pennies!

rollerbaby · 12/11/2010 06:37
