Feel free to have words with my stupid Health Visitor comtessa, she made an appointment for 10am today and still isnt here so I cant do anything else and am getting very annoyed sitting waiting.
Not even sure why she wants to come, I rang up to ask but never got an answer Angry

comtessa · 01/11/2010 10:51

Am sorely tempted baljay and mibby. Somehow it's easier to get mad terribly, terribly polite on someone else's behalf.

Mibby · 01/11/2010 10:55

Shes still not here.

Just had my pay slip in the post and work have 'forgotten' 3 days pay! Have sent a very annoyed email!

Today isnt going well Angry

dairymum · 01/11/2010 11:59

just marking place for later when dp is out working. Grin

lulastic · 01/11/2010 12:44

Re. grumpiness- I am hearing you all!

On my way home from work on Friday, it was late, I had a stack load of leaving pressies, my bus arrived with a million people on it and i just managed to squeeze on.

Then half way home a guy had a barney with the bus driver and the driver terminated the bus and got off, saying "I'm not driving if this fella stays".

Meaning to appease and coach the guy off the bus, I approached him and pleaded with him to get off the bus so the rest of us could get home. He got a bit cross and, um, I got a bit cross too. Maybe more cross than him. Angry Basically, he really felt the wrath of this angry 38 week mum pregnant woman. I was actually a little Blush afterward!

Rinnyx · 01/11/2010 13:02

Thank you to all the well wishes for my step nan x
She is doing better, has eaten food for the first time since she was admitted so fingers crossed the only way is up for her and then she can meet DS when he shows up.

Also congrats to any new mums :)

I saw the midwife today, I am now 39 weeks and she says he shows no signs of wanting out, not even the smallest bit engaged so she has booked me in for the 15th when I will be 41 weeks and will sort out me being induced if he dont come before then.
Thankfully tho she said she thinks hes only about 6lbs 8 - 6lbs 13 and does not see him being much over 7lbs even if I go over my EDD

kelsuprise · 01/11/2010 13:19

Hi Ladies- hope it is ok for me to straddle 2 antenatal groups- Was due on Sat (30th Oct) but now overdue!! Funny because Obs and MW said I would def not go overdue as I have polyhydramnios (excess fluid) so would pop before!! Hello...im still here!! Measuring 51 weeks now- biggest my midwife has ever measured! Good luck to all and congrats to those who have their little ones!!

4madboys · 01/11/2010 14:19

hello ladies, welcome to the new babies and good luck to those maybe in early labour, being induced, due in the next few days.

all quiet here with 3 wks to go, good job as ds3 is still too poorly to go back to school and ds4 now has chickenpox! ffs it never rains but it pours, luckily it seems to be a mild dose.

other than feeling tired i feel fine, craving lots of salad, cucumber, celery and yesterday ate a whole jar of beetroot Grin still at least its all healthy stuff!

midwife visiting tomorrow to drop off home birth kit and my hv is also visiting tomorrow, she was meant to come last week but had to cancel due to ds3 being in hospital, fingers crossed nothing goes wrong to tomorrow.....

good luck everyone and welcome to kelsuprise :)

PrivetDancer · 01/11/2010 14:26

Glad your nan is a little better, rinny

lulastic lol :o Did he get off the bus?
Apart from poor dh, the only recipient of my pregno-rage so far was a woman I saw not picking up after her dog in my road a couple of weeks ago, and quite frankly I think she deserved it. Stayed fairly polite, but normally would not have said anything and fumed silently instead.
I think my work emails may have adopted a certain 'tone' with people who annoy me too :)

kel 51 weeks?! Your poor skin! Will you be induced soon or are they just assuming you'll pop soon (quite literally maybe!)

lulastic · 01/11/2010 14:33

privet - he stayed and we all had to get off : what a rascal. Got another bus and that one terminated 3 stops before my own GRRR london buses!

A fellow home birther recently made the documentary Cherry has a baby- anyone see it? She is making a follow up doco on breast feeding and is looking for a new mum with imminent baby who wouldn't mind being filmed and followed through those first few weeks of pregnancy. Any brave souls on here who might be keen? Her email is [email protected]

pyjamalover · 01/11/2010 14:44

wow so much going on with everyone! congratulations to those with their babies. I have been struck down with a horrible cold for almost a week, can't believe how long it takes me to kick all these little viruses in pregnancy.

to anyone thinking of giving their baby oral vitamin k rather than injection, my advice is taste it then decide! I'm now taking it once a day (am on a medication that can affect clotting) and it is DISGUSTING, literally makes me vomit. Honestly think it cruel to make anyone swallow this stuff, am already dreading tomorrows dose.

on the positive side I made a huge vat of chilli yeterday and froze it in portions, and put the buggy together, is this nesting?

BloodyBorisKarloffTheBold · 01/11/2010 15:00

Gaaahh - got another monitoring appointment at hospital at 4pm. DP has finished work early to drive me through, in case I get kept in.

However, he's fing about with car batteries and various bits in the conservatory instead of getting in the shower and moving his ass into the car. I really want to scream "get a fing move on you w*er".

He had all Sat evening and morning on Sunday to p!ss about, as I was in hosp. It's not like he did anything else other than feed the kids. I've been under house arrest today with both kids (inset day) and have had to pick up 3 days of cleaning, washing and preparing for school in case I'm not about. I've even ironed him some clothes for this afternoon. He kept saying, "Oh leave it, I'll do it when I get home". Yeah, right, we've been together 14 years I don't have the energy to cope with a martyr attack from him tonight. I think he's counting on the fact that I'm at a loss now I'm not working ft now and he knew I wouldn't be able to not tidy up!

Think this rant may be due to the angry pg hormones mentioned by some others Grin.

However, I don't think it'll be any good for my bp readings when we finally get there...

cluelessnchaos · 01/11/2010 15:38

bloody men, boris, mine is exactly the same. Why do they always choose the minute you need to leave to start fannying around washing cars and doing those really important things that have waited all year but now really cant wait.

umf · 01/11/2010 18:49

lulastic you star! What a git, tho.

Boris hope appt went well - or maybe they kept you in??

DH's (in)ability to prioritise household tasks a bone of contention here too... Loving the term "pregna-rage".

Vix7 · 01/11/2010 19:47

pregnarage!! love it!

had that last week on my EDD. got fed up of all the well meaning friends and family asking if i'd popped yet that i declared 'NO, baby is STILL not out yet and YES i've tried walking/pineapple/spicyfood/au naturel methods'

also declared that IF i'm having #2, at no point will DH tell friends n family the EDD cos EVERYONE seems to think it's the be all and end all and if baby doesn't come then there's something wrong.....

have gone 'on strike' and gone MIA on gtalk/msn/fbtalk. HIAK HIAK HIAK!!!!

am 40+3 now and still waiting...

Fenouille · 01/11/2010 20:07

Hi everyone, I'm enjoying all the pregna-rage stories Grin

Glad to hear your step-nan is feeling a little better rinny

Aargh to 4mad with the chickenpox on top of everything else.

Well, I'm still here (5 days over) Biscuit After my check-up today I have an appointment for tomorrow morning to be induced (41+6). Not really the way I wanted it but absolutely nothing is happening so I have to be realistic. I have spent all evening doing housework in the hope of setting something off but nothing so far.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

cluelessnchaos · 01/11/2010 21:15

Good luck for tomorrow fenoullie, these babes seem to have different ideas to us

umf · 01/11/2010 23:33

All best for tomorrow Fenouille. SiL is in hospital today being induced/sun-roofed at 42+6. Can't believe how long they let her go on! (in Sweden)

BloodyBorisKarloffTheBold · 02/11/2010 02:36

Hi all,

Got home eventually after 5.5 hours at the day unit. Almost lost the will to live and was tempted to tell them just to keep me in! DCs were both pretty well behaved, despite the length of time they had to hang around and as it was over dinner time. We got home and poor wee DD2 (just turned 4) was too tired to even eat dinner and took herself off to bed Grin.

In summary, still got pre-eclampsia (v high bp and protiens in urine, coupled with some lovely shiny swollen feet). Meds have been upped and I need to get bp checked each day until section on Friday. So it's back to the day unit tomorrow, but kids are at school so that should make life easier. I think they would have brought the section date forward, however, they closed the unit when we were there as they were snowed under with labouring women Shock.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with pregnarage Grin. I was even nice to dp's mum when she called for an update just after we got in. Apparantly, after discussing my situation with various people, such and such's two friends both had sections and I shouldn't be concerned as one of those ladies was a "big lass" and didn't have any problems "even though she was really fat". Ummm, thanks for that Hmm, luckily I have already came to terms with my fat-assedness or I could've been pretty upset by this conversation!

Am I the only person suffering from insomnia at the moment? I swear I am surviving on less than 2 hours sleep in each 24 hour period. Awake all night until 6am ish and then finally fall asleep just in time for the kids to wake me up at 7am (waaah). Dp's been pretty good getting up with them at the weekend, but I may have to kill him if he continues to insist that the six minutes sleep I had on the couch at 1pm (before DD2 woke me to tell me off for snoring!) is the cause of the aforementioned insomnia. He just doesn't get it! I've had no "extra" daytime sleep for two days, so max total of 4 hours sleep but still can't sleep now. Have tried warm baths, couch, bed to myself, going to bed earlier/later it's almost soul destroying!

And, as you can tell, lack of sleep makes me ramble on and on and on and on....

Fenouille - best of luck for tomorrow, can't wait to read your birth announcement.

Rinny - glad your stepnan has had some improvements. I really hope she rallies and is able to meet your lo (when they finally decide to make an appearance!).

Lulastic - Grin and I love your description of "rascal", I'm sure I would've called him much worse!

Vix7 - You had the baby yet???? Grin Grin Sending you some labour vives, it wont be long!

Umf - 42+6 wow - deep respect to your SIL. Hope everything has went well for her.

cluelessnchaos · 02/11/2010 09:35

I am defintaley with you on the insomnia but I am putting it down to spd, although touch wood I have managed about 6 hrs the last two nights.

I went back to the hospital yesterday to get the anti d I needed from the bleed on sunday and all of a sudden they started talking about inducing me, so minor strop out from me led to my registrar friend who works there turning up to find out what the hell was going on. I got transferred up to my consultants clinic and everyone started fussing over me, its amazing how differently they treated me when they realised who I was friends with. Was given a scan and speculum immediatly and it was agreed that if there was any more bleeeding they would induce me, but as I am already 3cm dilated they will be able to break my waters and not need to use a gel or drip and my unnatural aversion has been duly noted, so I feel quite calm, the upshot from the scan was that baby is quite big, at about 8lbs and will likely to be 9lb around my due date.

smokeybacon · 02/11/2010 09:50

Morning all,

boris sorry to hear about your PE and insomnia. Try a glass of red wine before bed?? I've been having one for the past few nights (I know - naughty) but it does the trick.

fenouille good luck with the induction.

clueless sorry you'll not get your HB.But it sounds like the right thing in the circs. As you say a healthy baby is the most important thing. Will you now be at qmc? I'll be there from Monday (if not sooner) as I am booked in for induction then.

comtessa LOL at pregnarage. I just find that I am annoyed at the smallest things. Eg, a glass not in the dishwasher. Ridiculous.

BP still high here so am trying to take it easy. The ILs have arrived. MIL is being pretty good actually but FIL just irritates the hell out of me. He kind of creeps around everywhere as though if he made the slightest sound, he would wake someone up. All the time. And asks questions like "smokey where was your car made?". WTF? What has that got to do with anything? He talks about people that DH maybe met once twenty years ago as if DH has been hanging on for this piece of news. Small things I know but irritating me. I will impart the "safety shoe" story one day. Still they are taking DS1 out to the park now as he is on an inset day, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Especially as by the afternoon, I can barely walk. The pain in my groin from two heads pushing down is ridiculous and its hard to get from the sofa to the kitchen. Oh well, only 6 days till induction now....

Sorry for the me me me post. I am a grumpy cow at the moment! Blush

Jenni363 · 02/11/2010 11:29

Ah new thread!...

Congrats to all new mums!! I'm getting exited now, due date on Sunday...

Haven't had any bh at all, and no idea in general of when the baby might arrive as this is our first one..

Trying to keep active and go for walks every day.. Getting harder every day though...

Mibby · 02/11/2010 11:44

Hi all

Another false alarm last night, am hoping the next one is for real. HV finally turned up yesterday, ten min of form filling, a few vague questions (Do you feel prepared for a baby?) and she was gone. Not really sure what the point of the visit was supposed to be.

Hope everyone is as well/ calm/ prepared :) as possible

smokeybacon · 02/11/2010 11:57

What a strange visit mibby! I've just had a letter from my HV saying I hear you are pregnant but will not visit until after the birth. Well, thats fine! Never found HVs that much use anyway.

clueless missed your post earlier about your visit to hospital. Just because I am nosy, who is your consultant? I love mine Blush, and am a bit sad that I think I may have seen him for the last time on Thursday as I'm not sure they have much to do with inductions. Aim for Monday anyway, and we can labour together??

lulastic · 02/11/2010 12:34

Painting bannisters today. Sad Feeling a bit sorry for myself hehe. but did choose to do it cos I want to help my lovely hub who is going nuts trying to get things finished for iminent arrival of LO. But why is gloss paint such a bloody pain in the ass.

Hope things work out for you Boris, umf smoky and fenouille
