Just a new thread as I noticed we are near the limit (again)!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tadjennypumpkinpie · 20/11/2010 04:58

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I passed my glucose load test so don't have to have the full 3 hour thing! Hurray! Celebrating with a box of Cadbury Fingers but they don't taste how I imagined they would. Perhaps they don't travel well. Hope those with SPD and sickness are feeling much better now.

Dreya · 20/11/2010 06:37

Morning! My sleep patterns are all over the place at the moment. I'm waking up with a full feeling and like my food hasn't digested properly and then within 5 mins of getting up I'm starving!
Good news Pumpkinpie I really want chocolate fingers now, The white chocolate ones, dipped in tea. Mmm, i'm going to have to get some!
How lovely to see my name on the stats list. Thanks Prof
I love the new pombear smiley. That thread was actually the first to bring me out of lurking for so long! I laughed so much and got a little reminder that I must do my pelvic floor exercises.Blush
I did the toilet roll thing (thanks to all who informed me) and I'm just under 8.
Hope those who have been poorly are feeling better. Have a fab weekend everyone.

Dreya · 20/11/2010 06:44

Needtosleepzzz just saw your link. That is so cute, I love it. I've got the one in white with pink spots and a little teddy. I need to stop spending too. I can't resist having a sneaky peek on ebay though. Smile

angels1 · 20/11/2010 08:21

needtosleep that must've been a shock! Will they move your antenatal classes forward just incase Ben arrives early (I know you said they were cutting it fine for your feb date)?

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 20/11/2010 09:57

Wow needtosleep what a shock, if it's right at least you will have baby earlier that thought!

It's my birthday today and mu oh has bought me a MASSIVE millies cookies birthday cookie! yay! Hope everyone has a fab wknd, im off out for some tapas later and then going to see harry potter. Have to make up for the no drinking next year for my 30th!

ZeroMinusZero · 20/11/2010 11:22

I find your case really interesting needtosleep as I didn't think your due date could ever be altered after your 12 week scan. It does sound like you might need a second opinion and I am inclined to agree with prof although I say all this as an ignorant layman, so I'm just guessing really.

Had a shock last night: £2000 has been stolen from my bank account. Last weekend we decided to add DH to the account to make it a joint account but his new debit card never arrived in the post and then two grand goes missing. Sounds suspiciously like we might have a light fingered postman. But it's all good because we phoned them up and they were really nice and it sounds like it's pretty certain we'll get it all back.

So... the big weekend question is... who's going to be watching Harry Potter?

knittakid · 20/11/2010 11:25

needto that is sooo pretty! do you mind if I get one too?Smile I was going to say re you undecided dates, to be careful just in case you end up being induced when in reality is too early, but I guess the scans will settle the matter, hopefully.
prof is that thread about the odd couple and the dinner party? I read the begininng and gave up, but guess I have to carry on. Dreya Is there that the thing about the toilet roll is in? if not, what is that?
angels I don't know how you can write a sow at the mo, I can't even speak and make sense!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 20/11/2010 12:00

Happy Birthday janedoe, enjoy your tapas and fantastic sounding birthday cookie mmmm! Making me hungry now and going to make a massive veggie shepherd's pie in a bit.

zero that's awful about your money and I'm pleased that the bank isn't going to mess you about. They're normally pretty good about these things as it's quite common but still horrible to think someone has done that to you Angry

I'm really at a loss still with regards to my dates. In my notes it says 2 different gestational ages after my first scan but obviously they use the scan one as EDD (the other one from lmp). Then my later scan had me as a few days later than that but still kept my EDD. At my 20 week one I was still recorded as further along but only by a few days so they kept my EDD again. Now this and I don't want to think about it but can't help it! Will stop googling though... I'll shut up until they tell me more at next appt, I'll probably end up giving birth in March now Wink
Can anyone tell me where your uterus is in regard to your belly button? Mine is 14cm above it.

knitta of course i don't mind (we obviously share great taste!), it's really soft as well and I absolutely love it. Keep getting it out of the bag to stare at. I know it'll only be worn a couple of times but it's too good to resist! Smile
that dinner party thread was hysterical, i'd have loved to have been there but don't think i'd have kept a straight face Grin

ledkr · 20/11/2010 12:27

HI just had aquick read and aggree totally with what has already been said,my fundal height has always been bigger than dates with all 5 pregs.I am 29 wks today and last Monday was measuring 32, mw says they done take much notice of anything under 4 more,if your mw is retiring she is prob a bit old school too.I have lots of water always have and thats why i get bigger-when they go you could surf them haha.
I am trying to controll spending too bit with xmas, baby and my huge nesting problem i cant stop,my house jsut seems to need so much even tho it didnt a few months ago.
Happy birthday Jane, tapas are so nice mmm got me drooling now.

knittakid · 20/11/2010 13:27

sorry crossposted, happy birthday jane! tapas sound amazing!
zero, don't worry too much about the money thing, it happened to me last Christmas (out shopping and card was declined!!!) but the bank didn't blink an eye at refunding it. Still made me angry that somebody got a free driving test and new glasses (what they bought came up in my statement!).

NeedToSleepZZZ · 20/11/2010 13:29

Thanks ledkr, maybe mine will surf out on the waters Grin I agree with the nesting thing, in full swing here, why do my windows look so dirty all the time when I've only just cleaned them...? Have a sit down this pm, x factor later!

Have decided that he'll come when he's ready and if he hasn't shown by next summer then I'm probably an elephant after all Wink Grin

tadjennypumpkinpie · 20/11/2010 17:48

Happy Birthday Jane and enjoy those tapas - yum!

PDR · 20/11/2010 19:37

Happy Birthday jane!

zero I have had a credit card taken out in my name before and the bank were really good about it. I just had to fill in some forms saying I didn't make the transactions and they "investigated" and that was it. I didn't have to pay a pennt and they closed the account. Be prepared for high security in the future though - even now if I buy more than about 3 things online in one day my card gets blocked and the bank call me. (Unless my husband has organised this as a way of stopping me spending all his money... Wink )

Nothing much happening here but my Mothercare grey yoga ish trousers have arrived and they are gorgeous! Got a couple of feeding vests as well and a nightdress with the clips on the straps for in hospital.

jackinthebump · 20/11/2010 20:34

Evening all, well last night I discovered I have started leaking! Not a lot just a little bit but probably enough to have to buy some breast pads!!!

Strangely DH felt the need to tell his mum this when he spoke to her earlier?! He is getting excited as he thinks they will arrive a bit sooner but i'm not convinced! Do think they will be early just not that early though!
Hope everyone is well and having an enjoyable weekend?

40Weeks · 20/11/2010 21:29

Happy birthday Jane, hope you had a nice day.

Zero sorry to hear about your stolen dosh, glad the bank have been good about it. What a horrid thng to happen.

Nothing much to report here, dh is busy planning this stag do which will now be 3 weeks before baby is due, rather than 4 days. I did give my blessing as it is his best friend and if it had been ANYONE else I would be filing for divorce. It's not me who will possibly miss my Childs birth after all, so I figure it's his prob not mine. Can't wait to look after a 2 & 4 yr old on my own for 3 days when I am 37 weeks pregnant!!

Anyone watching TXF??

40Weeks · 20/11/2010 21:31

Oooh Jack Leaky boobs, never had that! Freeze the precious stuff! Although think it can only be frozen for 1 month......

PDR · 20/11/2010 22:09

Jack I have slightly leaky boobs too - not enough to go through my nightie but means I have to put on a clean on every night. If it gets worse I will have to get a sleep bra and wear pads at night. I had the same during my last pregnancy too...

At least you know you prob won't have any supply issues! I could never get DS to latch on and so ended up bottle feeding but I had gallons of milk!!!!!

ZeroMinusZero · 20/11/2010 22:42

Thank you everyone fr your comments about the money, it sounds like we'll get it back soon, so all's well that ends well.

We just got in and are watching TXF. I'm going to have to be Louis' rulebook here and say that Cher's song was John Lennon as a solo artist after the Beatles split up... which is annoying given how many good songs she had to choose from. Grrr Angry

Bit disappointed with Matt as well, who is normally my favourite. Oh well.

I have been reading everyone else's stuff but there's just so much I don't know what to comment on. Except jack's thing about her DH telling his mum that her boobs are leaking!!! Grin Absolutely hilarious. My DH would definitely be getting the divorce papers through for that.

ZeroMinusZero · 20/11/2010 23:04

Just seen it all, I thought Paije was the best :)

40Weeks · 21/11/2010 07:44

Hello Zero my DH said the same, and Marys song was a McCartney one - like you say, did they not have enough to choose from? What they should have said is "it's tenuous Beatles week"

I loved Paige but thought Matt was pretty hot, I een put down my iPhone to fully watch it which DH definitely registered!! He doesn't get that sort of attention!

angels1 · 21/11/2010 09:35

Morning ladies,

Another night of interupted sleep with various aches and pains here - it's not comforting to think it can only get worse!

A bit Confused at leaking boobs, and someone mentioned sleeping bra - do we need to wear a bra at night once baby comes if we are bfing? (slightly {blush] first timers naive emoticon)

40weeks I'm getting Louis rule book out on you as I'm pretty certain Marys song was the beatles - infact, I remember Paul McCartney saying in an interview once that actually George Harrison wrote it but lots of people tell McC it's their fave lennon/mccartney song which always makes him Grin and Wink to himself.

I thought on TXF last night Cher was actually much less annoying than usual, although I spent her performance cringing that a rap in the middle of 'imagine' would simply not work. Agree that it's not strictly speaking beatles (maybe Louis isn't so clued up on bealtes to be able to moan about this), and I didn't know 'hippy hippy shake' which wagner did was a bealtes song - is it??!

The judges are getting very very snappy with each other though (esp cheryls sly looks to Simon). I wonder if it's real or for TV Hmm. I would assume it was all made up for TV but I remember a few years ago (when I used to work at BBC for a while) Sharon Osbourne was on the show I was working on and she spent the WHOLE time before going on the show on the phone moaning alot about Simon Cowell and how she was convinced he was sabotaging her acts in some way so she/her acts wouldn't win - she was dead annoyed/cross about it, so it seems they do take these things personally in RL.

Gosh, this is a bit long, sorry Blush

janedoe25 · 21/11/2010 09:36

Thank you all for the birthday messages, i had a fab night although im suffering a bit with my spd this morning because of the horrible cinema seats!

zero sorry to hear about the money probs, some people are such scum!

jack have to admit that is one of my preg fears, dont want to leak until baby is here!
Oh in the restaurant last night i had a bit of a blub because the managers was sooo nice to me (he gave a free diet coke cos i am preggers)! He thought i was mad!

debka · 21/11/2010 09:55

Small but exciting announcement:
Have made it through TWO nights now without getting up for a single wee!! Feel like a new woman!

PDR · 21/11/2010 10:05

Wow debka that's amazing! Have you done anything differently? I am thinking about stopping drinking after about 8pm as I don't sleep well anyway so I could do without getting up to pee!

Question has your DH booked his paternity leave and if so how is he choosing which date to start? Are his employers being flexible or does he have to give an actual date? My DH is not actually entitled to formal PL but he is going to negotiate 2 weeks unpaid leave. I was so overdue last time it's difficult to pick an actual date to start. Would be helpful to know what others have done :)

suzym1984 · 21/11/2010 10:33

debka please tell us all your secret! 2 nights without a wee!!! I was up about 5 times last night...Im like a zombie today!

jack I have been leaking for ages now Blush and thought it as normal?! I sleep in a bra and use breast pads! Theres not loads, but enough to mark my underwear if i didnt use pads.

zero I hope you get your money prob sorted asap....last thing you need before christmas!

Think its a day on the sofa for me after my restless night, poor DH is probably getting bored of living with an 80 year old woman!
