Hi all,

Just popping in to catch up and wish everyone safe travel and a very happy Christmas.

Had Midwife apt yesterday (finally got to see her) - all well, blood pressure and no glucose in urine this time (I put that down to that danish pastry just before sample last time Blush) Bump is measuring at 25 weeks and I am 28wks 2moro so I am carrying a little on the small side, but no worries there especially after some of the comments you guys have been getting from insensitive people Xmas Grin
I have now got my HIP form and need to get that in the post today Xmas Smile
Been getting some stabbing pain in buttocks area and around pelvis so midwife is reffering me to physio!!

Hope you are all doing ok. I have a very excited nearly 5 year old... so christmas is going to be magical and I don't even have to cook Christmas lunch as off to Sisters Xmas Grin

Happy Christmas everyone!! x

Larty74 · 23/12/2010 15:56

Happy christmas everyone! Am also off to inlaws which is usually good fun until oneday i realised where i actually stand in the family-was reprimanded once for greeting them first before they got to their darling son, i get served last at the dinner table, and they specifically thank DH and only DH when we take them out for dinner. My slot significantly slid down a notch once we acquired a puppy. Hate to think what will happen when baby arrives! Hey ho life is good and for the
most part i could care less. Cant wait for new year when we will start buying all the big stuff! Jealous of everyones recent deliveries! Take care catherine sometimes theres nowhere id rather be than at home w my two felines :-D

spaceal · 23/12/2010 16:10

Another quick message to wish everyone a happy - and safe - Christmas Xmas Grin

I went a cropper in the snow last night, just fell onto my hands and knees, no impact on the bump but it worried me enough to head to the Maternity Assessment Unit this morning - and all is well. They monitored out little one's heartbeat for half an hour or so and it was as it should be, and she's been moving a lot, and I've had no pain or bleeding or anything. Good to get it checked out though, and all the midwives were so lovely - said they'd had loads of snow-fallen women in.

Now don't plan to leave the house until I really have to! My mum's coming here for Xmas so we don't have to go anywhere - have even decided to just use an old fake tree rather than venture out for a real one. Not very festive I know, but...

My midwife did my anti-D yesterday too - in my arm not my bum or thigh. No problems there, and the bump was measuring spot on for 28 weeks.

Oh, and my HIP arrived in my bank account too, less than two weeks after I sent off the form. Just in time for some sales shopping after Xmas. Yet to buy anything other than a couple of babygros, but I think we've decided on the Mamas and Papas Sola buggy.

Not such a quick message - but hope everyone has a great few days - be careful on the snow!

Honeymoonmummy · 23/12/2010 16:50

Hi all, I'm sorry I've hardly been on, so busy for Xmas! Had my flu jab today after a lot of agonising/ researching, it was a bit of a non-event after that, i didn't even sit down! Hate needles too but it didn't hurt at all!

28 weeks yesterday...

Have a great Christmas everyone! Smile x

mixedmamameansbusiness · 23/12/2010 17:24

Talking of falling, I just fell up the stairs whilst bumping pushchair up with my nearly 3 yr old in it. Luckily managed to hold on to the pushchair and DS1 came running to stabilise me and the pushchair.... bless him he is only nearly 5.

Must keep an eye on the bank account for the HIP grant.

Medee · 23/12/2010 19:28

eek to all the falling people.

niamh29 · 23/12/2010 20:50

Hi all, had a scan today, I'm 27 weeks but scan measurements put me at 28 weeks. All good with scan and the doc said that he couldn't be 100% sure but he thought it is a girl!! (we have 2 girls already) I thought I would be disappointed but I'm not, I'm just so delighted that the baby is doing well and I'm glad we know.

When the took my blood pressure it was a bit low 130/49, that's never happened before, she asked if I had been feeling dizzy and I said no, anyone else have problem with low blood pressure?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 24/12/2010 09:58

Niamh - we are going to have 3 boys, I thought I would be more disapointed, even more so as we are not planning anymore, but I felt a small pang when she told me but then I havent thought about it except when people have to do the whole disapointed thing.

Larty74 · 24/12/2010 10:13

Take care everyone - what will all the falls and sickness - If you are travelling somewhere don't forget to take your notes with you wherever you go!

No low blood pressure for me, but have been getting recent dizzy spells and nausea-even with the slightest bending over to reach something. Last night was at friends for dinner and got it real bad just sitting in my chair, fainted and vomited Blush. was absolutely horrified. Felt great after tho and ok today and baby happy as larry. Midwife said dizzy spells are normal for this time as so much blood is going to placenta its as if your blood supply is effectively outside of your body. Also said I could have caught a bug as so much of it is going around and we pretty much have ZERO immune system.

Merry Christmas! Xmas Grin

Oceanbreeze · 24/12/2010 14:40

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

I have lost my Christmas spirit since being shoved in the bumpAngry by an aggressive shopper this morning (hope that packet of sugar was worth it mateHmm) but am listening to Christmas songs to try to force encourage it back.

Have a good one everybody Smile

chickiewoo · 24/12/2010 20:57

Just wanted to also wish everyone a fab Christmas - hope you all keep safe and well and enjoy the festivities. I had the flu jab yesterday, so am hoping I don't get a dose of it over the next few days. As DS is now fast asleep, going to retrieve his various presents from their hiding places to put under the tree! Have fun everyone x

1Catherine1 · 25/12/2010 00:17

Merry Christmas all!! Xmas Smile

Muser · 26/12/2010 18:49

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope everyone had a lovely day.

Kagey · 27/12/2010 09:59

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! It's very quiet on here at the moment and so hope you are all ok and maybe doing some sales shopping. We braved bluewater yesterday and come away with next to nothing as I didn't think the bargains were that good.

Take care x

jeffily · 27/12/2010 13:38

Hello All

Just popped in to say I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are managing to get some rest! We went to my ILs, was v lovely, now home for a couple of days before heading off to my mum and dad's for a couple of days. All is well and LO is letting me know that s/he is healthy with plenty of kicking and shoving!

Festival love to you all! xx

Medee · 29/12/2010 11:49

Merry Christmas to you all!

haloflo · 29/12/2010 17:12

Hello all, hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Mine was quiet, thought we should enjoy our final one as a couple before the mayhem excitement of many years to come.

Regarding Health in Pregnancy Grant's. Mine was sent off on 8 Dec, in my account on 21st Dec, less than 2 weeks later. They all seem to be being processed fast so good news for anyone yet to send off their form.

I have also made my first baby purchase: the pram & carrycot. Went for the babystyle oyster in pearl (unisex and cheaper than the coloured ones). I think I got a bargain too. As the seat and carrycot are ex display the shop are throwing the footmuff and changing bag for free. I do love free stuff!

1Catherine1 · 29/12/2010 19:59

Haloflo I'm glad you got your pushchair, hardest purchase imo. I took my OH to Mama and Papas today and in usual man style he walked in and said "I want that one", then when he realized it was pretty rubbish on the manoeuvring aspect he lost all interest and wanted to go home. In all fairness to him though he wasn't in the mood since I'd just nearly had my purse stolen as I'd absent-mindedly left it on the counter at another shop while I made a phone call - turned around and it had gone. Since I noticed so quickly though he'd gone straight to the exit of the shop to weigh up anyone leaving in his ex-policeman way. The man who had taken it gave it to him claiming he'd intended to hand it in at the other counter at the other end of the store Hmm My own fault though - so easily flustered at the moment.

So pram shopping has to be put off again. Hopefully will be able to get one before the baby is born :D

Muser · 29/12/2010 20:52

Glad you got the purse back 1Catherine.

We got our pram as well, Bugaboo Bee for us. Just need to wait for it to be delivered.

Hello everyone - hope you all had a lovely christmas!

Am not looking forward to spending 8 hrs on a plane tomorrow, but very much looking forward to yet another christmas with the fam and being looked after for 10 days. Also looking forward to getting back and getting on with some serious baby shopping! Grin

Happy new year to all!

EvianBaby · 29/12/2010 23:45

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

Muser very envious at your Bee! Am having to resign myself to a double as I will have this baby and DS who is just 2 and has hypermobility which means he doesn't walk long distances. Oh well!

Had a growth scan the week before Christmas, baby weighed around 3lb, so will be even more now, think i am on course for another 9lber - oouch! Oh and he/she was/is breech.

Have MW appt tomorrow, will be nice to hear HB again. Baby is wriggling and moving loads at the moment and think that the he/she has stayed or always moves back to being breech. I can feel his/her head still in the same place where the sonographer told me it was. Lots of time to turn though...

Only about 10 weeks to go for us all Smile

niamh29 · 30/12/2010 20:08

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

I was very bold when I went to the Next sale, got newborn girl clothes, not much but it seems a bit crazy seeing as the doc said he wasn't sure it was a girl but surely he wouldn't have said anything if he wasn't pretty sure......any words of wisdom anyone?

Oh, can someone update the list with my details
Niamh29 DD1 4, DD2 1.5, baby girl on the way

Thanks!

Medee · 30/12/2010 20:36

I've bought a couple of things in the sale, but gender neutrals.

emma31177 · 30/12/2010 20:41

Hi all happy new year to everyone in advance

feeling very sorry for my self been in pain since lunch time went to hospital this evening they think it a water infection i never knew a water infection could make so much pain they gave me tablets but its such a worry 13 weeks to go i cant wait to hold my little man
also braved the next sale got a few baby boy clothes not much for my dd though only a few things in her size dh was please i didnt spend to much

have a great new years eve eveyone this time next year our babies will be nearly one !!!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 31/12/2010 12:24

Just popping in to say Happy New Year ladies.

Muser - very Envy of the Bugaboo, enjoy it.

I am up every night at least 4 times for the loo now. Sure I am having Braxton Hicks contractions now and just feel really uncomfy alot of the time. Just want to get on with it all now. Although once he is here that will bring its own issues but at least he will be here Smile

We seem to have narrowed our names down to 3 and DH asked me to cross one off and he crossed one off which left the name I have been suggesting since the beginning which he said no to. This happened last time as well. I planted the seed early on and just kept mentioning it and got my way Grin

top 3

Jem (I want it spelt Cem but DH isnt having it so this is a compromise)
Kaan
Mika

Jem is currently the last name standing..... DH family going to hate it though.

Love to all.
