Wow Spilt just so happy for you. Best luck for scans and bloods - you and Mr Spilt are due good karma and I also hope you have a very uneventful next 8.5 months with a bouncing little sibling for Bobby at the end of it.

At any rate - you and dh don't need to continue abstinence Wink !!!!

sam26oscar · 11/12/2010 22:44

Split

Grin Grin

Am sooo happy for you!!!

That is wonderful news, really hope you have the most boringly normal and uneventful next 8 months!!! I know you will be really nervous and all the rest but i'm sure you will be fine!! Perhaps you could be an honorary March 2011 member and drop in from time to time and keep us updated on your progress?? Lots of love and luck xx

Niknan · 11/12/2010 23:01

Split, what fantastic news. The best early Christmas present you could have! Wishing you all the best in this pregnancy.

spilttheteaagain · 12/12/2010 08:09

Thank all Grin

sam I would love to be an honorary member and drop in from time to time if it's not too cheeky. I miss you all. It feels like starting again on the August AN thread and having to get to know everyone all over again. Here is a bit more like home!

4 weeks today... only 36 to go! Not sick yet thank goodness, every day is a mercy, it will hit soon Confused

Medee · 12/12/2010 10:36

it is really weird trying to dance with a baby bouncing in you!

indeed - I think mine is glad I had my last tap class last week!

Purplefan · 12/12/2010 23:08

Hi all,

Spilt fantastic news...congratulations to you. Positive thoughts sent your way for a happy and healthy pregnancy.Xmas Grin

I had another scan on Thursday, baby purple is growing well and is about right for her dates, just her thigh bone that is bringing the average down.. but we know that she will be shorter than average, due to the Turners syndrome.

Spoke to a lovely young lady doctor about the possibility of having a planned C-section and she was very supportive and helpful! Xmas Grin
The only grey news this time was 2 pluses of glucose in my urine..... am hoping this was because I had just had lunch and a danish before I did my sample Xmas Hmm
I do have GTT booked for new years eve due to parents being diabetic in later life!!!!!

Where is time going? Need to buy just a few more bits for crimbo and then have big pile of wrapping!!! Take care all.

Kagey · 13/12/2010 10:18

Aw congrats Spilt that is fantastic news - all the very best!!!

am988 · 13/12/2010 11:00

Split that is really great news, made my day! Felt so much for you before.. good times are coming now for you. take care.

Nothing much to report, except I had the flu, then maybe another flu following the first- lasting 2 weeks. I didn't realise flu medicine worked before but now I know. It has not been pleasant.

At 27weeks, can't wait till christmas and christmas holidays (just a week to go) - then I go on leave beg of Feb. I am fed up with work and can't wait to move on.

Feeling generally ok, except yes increasingly breathless and clumsy and its a big effort putting on socks - I feel really huge too, I wonder how it will be like in a couple of months. Trying on new trousers yesterday didn't make me feel any better Hmm

jeffily · 13/12/2010 12:01

Hello All

Starting to feel Christmassy now! Off in a minute to prepare tiffin for making with DD when she gets up from her nap for the girls at her nursery, and only 1 more week of school then holidays! Hurrah! Can't wait for a rest from the drive and the constant demands of teaching. Am feeling increasingly Envy of larty who will be totally finished for ML in just one week. Can't believe we are at the point in our journey where we have our first (?) member almost on ML!

Great news that your DD is growing well purple. I also had a high sugar result a couple of times in my last preg, and each time it was due to me stuffing my face overindulging before the tests. I have my Glucose test tomorrow, am hoping it will come back clear as it came back high last time and I was a bit worried about gestational diabetes. Not for any reason, but I was terrified they would tell me to give up sweet things! pregnancy really brings out the pig in me! All turned out fine in the end though.

Not really much to report here. Am increasingly finding it hard to get into the car and keep bumping into things when I try to squeeze through small spaces! I didn't get that much further than this last time (waters broke at 33 weeks) so am wondering how big I can possibly get! Other than that though I think I may be having the 2nd trimester glow- people keep commenting on how well I look (though that could also be due to having sorted out the roots of my hair recently!). Christmas shopping almost completed, and even got on with some wrapping yesterday. Today's tasks are to finish Christmas cards and take back library books which are well overdue.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

spaceal · 13/12/2010 13:24

Wonderful news, Spilt - I was really only lurking when you lost Bobby but followed your story and am really happy to hear you are pregnant again. As others have said, I hope this is an uneventful and happy pregnancy.

It feels like my bump has had a bit of spurt in recent days and I'm completely exhausted. Anyone else have days when they feel completely and utterly wacked? Doesn't help that our burglar alarm went off for no apparent reason at 1 in the morning Sad - grrrr.

Had to get out of various work things today cos I just didn't think I'd manage. I teach in a university and am really looking forward to the end of term on Friday, as even though I don't go on maternity leave till mid-Feb I won't have any actual teaching after Xmas. Hurray!

I'm completely unprepared for Christmas - haven't done any present shopping or bought, let alone sent, any cards, but I'm trying to do a bit of catching up today, since I'm not doing the work I should be doing!

On a positive note, I'm glad the snow has gone, even if only for a few days. Feels great to be out and about without fear of falling on my bum.

Hope everyone else is doing good.

KPidgeon · 13/12/2010 13:25

Just wanted to say congratulations to spilt too- lovely news! Best Christmas present ever eh! Hope all goes well from here- you deserve it.

I am exhausted! Had a weekend with the inlaws and it's done me in. Roll on Christmas break. Think I will have to start saying no to people from now on for meeting up. my wee boy and I need rest!

Hope the rest of you are okay.

K x

chickiewoo · 13/12/2010 16:05

Spilt - congratulations - what fabulous news - well done you! Wishing you all the best for your pregnancy - hope its straightforward for you - try not to worry too much and make sure you keep in touch with your friends here to let us know how you are doing. I'm 25 weeks today and feel enormous - not helped by the looks people give me when I say I have 15 weeks to go! Have to say it is a struggle to get tights or socks on! Have a very active bladder so am up in the night a fair bit and suffering with back ache. DS has been poorly all weekend with cough, cold, ear-ache etc. so we just snuggled on the sofa watching cartoons. Love to you all x

PipPipPip · 13/12/2010 19:56

Congratulations Spilt, I have everything crossed for you and (the lovely-sounding) Mr Spilt.

umiaisha where in West London are you? I'm in Ealing and go to a terrific pregnancy yoga class, if you're anywhere nearby.

Boo81 I'm interested in the London meetup but how to I private message you?

I've just finished a hectic period: I worked 47 hours in four days over the weekend! You see, I helped organise a conference and it was on the weekend. It went well, was very rewarding and received lots of well-wishes. But phew, have spent all day in pyjamas or the bath today!!

spilttheteaagain · 13/12/2010 20:04

aaw thanks pip he is indeed very lovely Smile

purple so glad your little girl is still growing well, that's great!

bluebeach · 14/12/2010 15:10

Hello all, not written in a while, but been keeping up with most posts.

Has anyone else completely lost all inspiration for work? I work from home, which although I know is a Godsend, is making it very hard for me to self motivate myself. I just want to do tidying and knitting. I have a massive deadline for the end of the day but keep being totally sidetracked by google and little jobs that need doing. Thanks goodness it's christmas soon!

Another symptom I have discovered about being 29 weeks pregnant is that my wee no longer comes out in a nice stream like fashion, but more in the style of someone putting their thumb over the end of a hose pipe. Bum and thighs get a proper dousing!

I'm also itchy, not worryingly so but enough to make the idea of a rub down with a scouring pad very appealing!

Ah well, can't complain too much, I'm saving that for months 7 and 8!

StrangewaysHereICome · 14/12/2010 17:18

Lol Bluebeach!! I have the same wee problem and am totally unable to get my samples in the tiny pot. I might invest in a funnel Xmas Grin.

PipPipPip · 14/12/2010 18:07

Bluebeach I generally work from home and find it SO hard to get motivated. Each day is a struggle, and I end up on google/mumsnet/facebook. SIGH!

emma31177 · 14/12/2010 18:17

lol am so glad am not the only one i work from home to but spend most of the day on here facebook or playing silly games !!

Purplefan · 14/12/2010 19:09

Feeling very sore today as I fell over in the classroom this afternoon!! The children had left a toy car on the floor and I slipped on it whilst trying to carry some party hats across the room!! Xmas Blush

Went down with quite a thud, but took brunt of fall on my hand and hip!! My left arm is now feeling very sore and my backside hurts too!!! Xmas Hmm
My teaching assistant was wonderful support and the children were a bit shocked, but very sweet!! Mind you, I then gave them a dressing down about tidying things away properly!!
Bump seems unaffected (phew) and baby is wriggling around as normal Xmas Smile

jeffily · 14/12/2010 19:19

Oh Purple! Hope you are not feeling too shaken up. Falls are always scary when you are preg, though the LO's are well cushioned in there. Hope you are resting up and being well looked after.

Only 3 more days of term then freedom for two whole weeks! Yay! Have a bit of a hectic week lined up with cooking, parties, pantomimes and Christmas dinners, but am starting to feel properly festive so not minding too much! Just finished writing cards and wrapping gifts for my fantastic TA. DH out tonight at his Christmas do, just wish there was something half decent on TV to settle down with. Am I the only one who thinks that Wednesday is the only decent night for TV?! Don't know what I am going to do when the apprentice finishes!

Well, I have a baked apple and custard calling my name from the kitchen, so must go and consume! Love to all.

Larty74 · 15/12/2010 11:15

Morning everyone! LOL at the wee discussions as I had to do one just yesterday to take to midwife. Not only that, but am completely blinded by bump, so is a total guessing game as to where its going once that silly tiny pot is in place. hey ho. I recorded baby's heartbeat on my phone and was able to send straight off to my mum and dad across the pond which they loved. oh the joys of modern technology! Oh and I remembered to weigh myself and since September have only put on 1.3 kg! Still that 11 lbs I recently read about keeps lingering in the back of my mind.

Purple glad you are ok after fall

Jeffily re TV thoroughly agree.

1Catherine! how is your cat doing?

StrangewaysHereICome · 15/12/2010 11:27

Feeling a bit miserable today, as I have yet another bug Xmas Sad. DD1 has been ill since last Thursday but has gone back to school, on the day her sister and I get it Xmas Confused. I feel completely washed out - it must be a combination of this virus, tiredness, being stuck in the house for days and lots of uncomfortable BH's. Is anyone else getting lots, yesterday I had so many I worried a bit but it seems a bit better today. I just want to hibernate til spring!!

Roll on the end of term and an end to all these bugs. At least we off to mum's for Christmas so I should get a proper rest there (I hope!)

1Catherine1 · 15/12/2010 13:28

I'm desperately looking forward to end of term too. I'm absolutely exhausted. I've lost the will to teach and am even letting my year 11's make Christmas decorations. I'm so short tempered that I keep snapping at everything - talk about hormonal. I need a break!! So, I don't work from home and have also lost all motivation. I can't bring myself to even care at the moment - I'm such a bad teacher [cry]

Thanks for asking about my cat Larty, she's back home because the vet says her wound is taking really long to heal and at this rate is going to take at least another two weeks (so over Christmas). He's said if I can manage the condition at home he'd release her to me. She has to live in a large dog box in my living room to limit movement so her wounds can heal and has to have them cleaned twice daily and given antibiotics. She's happier at home but it is a bit of work keeping everywhere clear of her germs - especially being pregnant and all I'm even more cautious.

I'm glad everyone is feeling Christmassy. I'm unfortunately not feeling it. My OH has left of putting the decorations up so we can do it together but I asked him last night when he was going to do it as I'm less than interested. Haven't bought any Christmas presents and since I have to post all mine I've probably left it a bit late. I'm such a Scrouge this year. I think it is the tiredness bringing my mood down :(

On the bright side I've decided to take up knitting. I've been learning for two days. Started again too many times but starting to get the hang of it now. Hopefully I'll be able to make my DD something nice before she comes.

Anyway - dinner time! FREE SCHOOL CHRISTMAS DINNER!! YAY!

Larty74 · 15/12/2010 13:42

lol @ Catherine Xmas Wink

I'm SURE you're not a bad teacher at all - I found myself doing the same things my last week - and they are just tiny little ones! Blush

I can also admit to not feeling all that Christmassy, for the first time in my life i dont want a real tree,FORCED myself and nudged on a bit by DH to get at least some decorations out, and am completely uninspired as far as gift buying goes. Don't worry - you're not alone!

I took up crocheting last year, dropped it for awhile, but thinking of picking back up again, and I think it's because it's so theraputic.

HO HO HO everyone! Xmas Grin
