gem3225 · 09/12/2010 17:34

welcome geeklove im due on the 9th and it too is a surprize, cant wait.

well im officially 27 weeks +1 and according to my ipohne app thingy im in the 3rd trimestre and the baby is the size of a cauliflower head!!!!!!!

heres my complete blonde moment for today, i though that the MATB1 form was the form you sent off to get your £190. but i now see that i need the HIP form too. ive sent off the wrong blinking form. Just called my docs and they are putting a form at the front desk for me to pick up. I just assumed that the midwife would of given it to me.
Blush

sam26oscar · 09/12/2010 21:23

Now i may be being a bit thick, however how do they work out the baby is the size of a cauliflower head Grin

It feels so much bigger than that in my tummy!!! I find it really hard to imagine how the baby looks when its inside, how big its head is (25.5cm) and how long it is ( 37.6cm) and how much it weighs now(2lb 2oz) and trying to compute all these facts into a baby shape!!!
Me thinks i have been on Google too much Blush

However am i the only one having a problem trying to visulise the little one inside?? Even though i do already have a DS and so know what it will look like??

Larty74 · 10/12/2010 13:41

Hi Girls - hope everyone is feeling a bit better these days!

So I've just finished my last day of school for who knows how long. not really sure how to feel actually - kinda weird. I don't think it will really hit me until January when all the holidays and travel is over and I wont' have to report in anywhwere.

Also, just read that throughout the final trimester we're due to gain an average of another 11 lbs. Shock Really not sure how I feel about that as am already feeling er, rather large at the moment.

StrangewaysHereICome · 10/12/2010 13:50

11 more lbs - eeek that is scary Xmas Shock! Finishing work is a wierd feeling Larty but once you have your hands full with your lo you soon get used to a different way of life for a while.

I've not been around much lately. I saw the mw on Monday for my Anti-D which was a bit painful and I wasnt expecting it in the buttock Xmas Blush. All my others were in my arm! She was lovely though and gave me a full check so that was the second in two weeks - I am feeling well looked after at the moment! I've got rid of my chest infection and finished my ab's which made me feel more rough than the infection.

Baby is moving lots and lots and sometimes quite painfully - the movements are getting more poke like rather than wriggly!

My eldest is off school sick today, luckily just a temperature and cough as she was next to a shepherd in the nativity who threw up all over the stage - poor thing! A few others have gone down with a sick bug so I really hope we can avoid it as I could do without catching that too!

Medee · 10/12/2010 15:51

Ah Strangeways, a fellow Anti-D?er. Did you know your husband?s blood type, or find out, or are they just giving you the jag anyway? I have had a saga with my local NHS about it, and the conclusion is I am getting it without knowing his blood type. Unfortunately, I already knew it was administered in the buttock.

RockChick1984 · 10/12/2010 16:35

Hi everyone, I had a very strange experience today! Think the baby had been lying across my tummy (transverse I think???), well I was sat watching tv earlier and had the biggest movement Ive ever felt from him, it actually knocked me sick, really painful, but now my bump looks longer and narrower so he must have corrected himself! Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Just hope he doesn't do it again, I'm 26 weeks today so can only imagine how much it'd hurt once he gets bigger! Normally love feeling his movements, luckily since this he's gone back to his normal kicks and hiccups! Hope u r all doing well and that all the snow has gone wherever u live! Xxx

me23 · 10/12/2010 16:46

lately I've been up to the loo even more often esp at night I literally don't sleep properly I'd say I'm up about every 20 minutes to go for a wee. I'm exhausted Sad
I had my msu sent off a week or so ago and it was clear but I think I may have an infection now, I know we wee alot in pregnancy but this is crazy!

dd had her 1st school play today it was lovely Xmas Smile

StrangewaysHereICome · 10/12/2010 17:30

Hi Medee - in my first pregnancy I didn't know DH's blood group and I did try to avoid the Anti-D by asking him to be tested but I was met with a brick wall. It felt like they were suggesting there was a possibility he wasn't the father!! So I had it and then DD1 was rh+ so DH must be positive too. DD2 is rh- so I avoided the post birth jab then!

Medee · 10/12/2010 20:34

A brick wall sounds familiar, we just went round the houses trying to find someone who would test his blood!

1Catherine1 · 11/12/2010 01:36

It is administered in the bum?!! The midwife never mentioned this when she arranged my 28 week appointment today. So she intends on stabbing me in the bum on New Years Eve without prior warning!

Had my 25 weeks midwife appointment today. Unfortunately I had an emotional breakdown because my OH wasn't ready and waiting for me to pick him up on the way to the doctors as I told asked him to be. So I entered the doctors still crying because I hadn't been able to pick him up and he had my notes. The receptionist was really nice though and I think she realised I was just overly hormonal and told me my MW was still with someone so I had time to go back out and find my OH. Apart from that though the MW appointment was good. Baby's heartbeat was strong, my blood pressure was normal and baby's growth was normal for my dates. So all was good!

spilttheteaagain · 11/12/2010 07:10

Hi everyone, lovely to see you all again. Great news on your appointment Catherine and Grin at the hormones, you poor things! me23 sorry you're feeling so poorly. Urinary infection? I hope you can get that sorted quickly.

Well my news is (for those of you I haven't bumped into in the last couple of days)...

Spilt is pregnant again!

I am a whole 3+6 today Grin

We are quite embarrassed and expecting to be hauled in front of the consultant like naughty children... we did take his advice to wait 6 months very seriously and stopped all the ttc sex straightaway. However it was the swimmers from the night before the appointment that did the trick. Whoops! First faint snifter of a line was on Thursday and it's got a bit stronger yesterday and again today.

We are really chuffed too, but understandably worried. Saw the GP on Thursday and have been referred straight to the consultant in readiness for early scan and bloods asap. By all accounts this little one should be ok and the toxo infection shouldn't be active enough to cause a problem anymore. However even if it does they can't do anything yet as the drugs for treating toxo in pg women aren't licenced for the 1st trimester. So fingers crossed please everyone for Bobbie's little sister/brother.

xx

JoJoB77 · 11/12/2010 08:00

My goodness, what fabulous news! Big congratulations Spilt! I'm so happy for you Grin xx

Larty74 · 11/12/2010 08:57

Spilt You have made my day! What great news. Grin Everything crossed for you guys!

I had my first major emotional breakdown yesterday over not having a christmas tree up yet, no christmas cards done (or bought) and frustrated over not seeming that bothered about it (and I LOVE christmas) turns out it was pure exhaustion from a very long week of finishing school, not getting enought rest and a billion other things going on. nevermind, I am so pleased for Spilt!

StrangewaysHereICome · 11/12/2010 08:58

Fantastic news Spilt Grin. I have everything crossed for you and Bobbie's brother or sister. Watch out I will be stalking your progress Smile.

lol Catherine I'm afraid so! You might be lucky, I had all my previous ones in my arm which were less painful - not sure why it's changed Hmm.

Medee · 11/12/2010 10:40

oh my, split! Fantastic news, keeping everything crossed for you.

spilttheteaagain · 11/12/2010 11:00

Thank you everyone!

Grin
JeelyPiece · 11/12/2010 11:19

Well done spilt and mr spilt!

Wishing you the best of luck with your pregnancy.

me23 · 11/12/2010 13:42

Congratulations split I am so happy for you, I wish you as normal and happy pregnancy as possible! Good luck with the bloods and scan Xmas Smile

Glad your appt went well catherine hormones eh! I almost started blubbing during dds xmas play not even because of dd but another child was crying his eyes out while still doing the dance moves to the song it broke my heart poor little thing!

I wasn't so bad last night managed to get some sleep, however dd and dp are both ill with coughs and colds poor things, hope I don't catch it.

Muser · 11/12/2010 14:26

Said it already but massive congratulations spilt. It's the most fantastic Christmas news to get. I am hoping for 9 very dull months for you, and a lovely brother or sister for Bobbie at the end of it.

Crongrats Spilt!! I hope all goes well with the consultant and Bobbie's little brother/sister!

jeffily · 11/12/2010 16:30

Oh Spilt, that is fantastic news! I really hope that everything works out for you- fingers crossed. What happy, happy Christmassy news.

Just popping in quickly to say hi as am mid organise for our Christmas party which seemed like a good idea at the time but now seems like a very risky one as we live in a little 2 bed flat and are expecting around 25 guests tonight. Just hoping that DD will stay asleep as don't fancy her running in and out of the legs at midnight and will ob be the only one sober enough to deal with it...

Right, back to my canapes!

Jupiter118 · 11/12/2010 17:06

Jetting - brave hope all goes well and enjoy!

Spilt - lovely news hope all works out will cross everything x

EvianBaby · 11/12/2010 18:13

Ah split fabulous, fantastic, wonderful news!!! Wishing you a very healthy and happy pregnancy! You deserve it. This little one is very lucky to have such brave parents.

Keep us updated on your progress.

Hi all

Haven't posted for a while as I haven't really had much to say, although I have been keeping updated with all of your news etc. I am now working FT until I go on Maternity Leave, my Dsis had her baby last weekend, and I have been busy trying to get us all organised for Christmas Smile

We've been to a lovely castle/country estate to get our Christmas tree today, as we squashed it in the car next to DS I wondered how we would do it next year... with a 3 year old and a 9 month old... we might have to go back to the artificial one or borrow my sisters people carrier!

My hormones have been slightly haywire too, my biggest problem is my need for the house to be clean and tidy (I think they call it the nesting instinct!). My poor DH, he is trying to help me but doesn't quite see things the same way as I do!

Off to see my new baby niece and older niece and nephew tomorrow. I do love newborns, all cute in their babygrows... Not long for us all now.

We have the first of our growth scans next week, I am really looking forward to seeing the baby again. I was too nervous at the 20 week scan to take it all in, also the sonographer didn't have the best bedside manner so didn't really let us see the screen. Hoping we don't have her again. Still deciding whether to find out the sex. Hmm.

Enjoy Sat night and Sun. Take care everyone Smile

EvianBaby · 11/12/2010 18:18

jeffily - enjoy the party, it sounds like fun!

TooImmature2BMum · 11/12/2010 18:46

Yay for Spilt! Congratulations!

I have been too grumpy to post recently (Hmm). The baby seems to have grown massively in the last week - suddenly had a spate of (male) colleagues realising I'm pregnant. Where have their eyes and ears been for the last 3 months since I started telling people? I think I've been tireder than I realised, hence the grumpiness. My tummy is finally sticking out further than my boobs, which is saying something since I developed FF cups! Larty, I'm also a bit alarmed about just how big I'm going to get in the next 12 weeks.

It was my work Christmas party yesterday and it is really weird trying to dance with a baby bouncing in you! God knows what I looked like, but it was fun. I had to pee about every three songs, mind - it felt so bizarre that I was clenching my pelvic floor muscles constantly just in case. I think my dancing days are over until after the birth, now.
