Due July 2011?

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

I've done a supermarket run and also bought alcohol free wine and cider. It's in the fridge chilling. I'll report back and let you know how bad it is what it's like later Grin

BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2010 17:10

Oh, and does anyone know how many prunes I need to eat before they have an effect?! BlushGrin

scrivette · 16/11/2010 17:14

Thanks Twit : )

DH laughed at me last when I got home and very excitedly told him I had been feeling a bit sick all afternoon! I never thought I would be excited about feeling sick!

loueytbg · 16/11/2010 17:39

Hello and congratulations to all the newbiesSmile

We had a big scare last night. Started bleeding (red blood this time) and panicked big time. Phoned EPU and they managed to fit me in for a scan at lunchtime. Big relief when we saw bean with heartbeat, measuring right for dates. Fortunately throughout was feeling very sick and threw up this morning so was hanging onto that. Bloody stressful!!!!

brassica becks blue is not bad (better than the cobra non-alcoholic beer IME). There are also some very low alcohol(0.5-1%) ciders which are ok and I found a bottle of torres non alcoholic white wine which was really quite nice. It doesn't taste the same but its nice and obviously looks like wine. Bought it in waitrose for £3.99-ish.

brightside we also found out on holiday and I had been consuming vast quantities of beer and wine every night right up until the night before my bfp. Its really common - its too early to cause any problems - don't worry.

highheels am so pleased that you saw hb on the scan. Have fx for you that things have moved on by the next scan and maybe you can relax a bit.

BeatrixRotter · 16/11/2010 19:53

Scary stuff louey, glad they scanned you so quickly and you got to see the heartbeat.

BrassicaBabe · 16/11/2010 19:56

Hi loueytbg I'm glad the EPU scan was good news.

I'm not a beer drinker so the becks wouldn't work for me. I can officially report that the alcohol-free pear cider was beyond rank. So far the einsberg (sp?) rose is passable. In fact better than some Weight Watchers wine I was given recently Hmm Not that that says much Grin I reserve the right to re-adjust my views when my taste buds return after this cold! Wink

AppleyEverAfter · 16/11/2010 20:21

Hi all, I got a BFP on 11 November... certainly a Remembrance Day I'll never forget! Had some brown bleeding on Sat, thought it was all over but did another test Sun and all seemed fine. Only symptoms are a few twinges, tiredness and crying at happy things (esp on TV). First pregnancy so hope to learn a lot from MN.

Sues1974 I'm wondering if I know you IRL...hmmm...what clues can I give?

How weird would it be if you are my friend! I haven't told my friends IRL yet.

Does the town you live in start with S? When you were having radiotherapy did you get a visit from a friend and her dd who is a week younger than your ds?

I'm going to feel pretty stupid if it's not you now... Smile

nicolamumof3 · 16/11/2010 21:01

Evening all..wow the list is certainly growing.

felt really good today so after dropping ds3 at nursery this afternoon thought i'd go into town for (more) xmas shopping. After an hour i was beat! Fortunately got home early and straight into bed woke up with the sound of dh walking through the door with with ds3 at nearly 4pm...lucky that! Grin

def feel better tonight though for it. Still feeling nauseous all bloody day long. Really gone off sweet food tho which is an absolute first. Going for a cheese sarnie in a mo i think!!

Hulla · 17/11/2010 07:03

Hahaha!! How strange!! And fantastic, fantastic news about your bfp!! I am thrilled for you.

Had a dreadful night. DD was really upset and wanted to feed ALL night. And for the last few nights I've been getting up to pee as well. Anyone else still feeding their dc find they're feedin more?

Will come back & whinge more later Grin

Off to check fb xx

nicolamumof3 · 17/11/2010 07:35

oh hulla i thought i had a bad night keep waking. BUt not compared to you if you have little dd to see to. DH left for work at 5am I am feeling sick sick sick. Fortunately made the packed lunches last night!!

SpannerPants · 17/11/2010 09:37

I'm feeling awful today. I've had period-like cramping for the last 2 days and have almost convinced myself that I'm miscarrying - no bleeding or anything but I spent most of last night crying to OH and my face is swollen today!

I feel like I could be sick at any minute and my boobs are sooo sore, but I just have a feeling of doom. I'm neurotic at the best of times but it's 10 x worse now!

Sorry for the moan, just wanted to get it off my chest.

Mamafoof · 17/11/2010 09:41

glad to hear all the scans went well and symptoms are coming in fast!

I wonder if you could help me ladies as I am beside myself at the moment. I first poas at 13 dpo on first response and got a faint positive (as in fainter than control but definitely a line). Then I did another and the line was slightly darker. On the weekend I did a CB digi and got 2-3 preg. Yesterday (19 dpo) i decided to do another (stupidly) and have got a line but it looks fainter. Got so worked up but thought i would do another this morning using fmu but still faint (and think it's slightly fainter than last night?) The wierd thing is i still feel pg (twinges down there and not quite nauseous feeling but sicky - just like my first pg) but am so scared in case something is going wrong.

Should I test again? My doctor doesn't do blood tests - just relies on our hpt!

Your thoughts would be gratefull received - thanks so much xxx

BrightSideOfLife · 17/11/2010 09:46

Hello again everyone - thanks for the reviews on alcohol free beer & wine (I agree - Becks Blue is my favourite, also the Bavaria one). It will be useful over the festive period...what bad planning - I am already trying to work out ways of hiding the fact that I am not drinking at the upcoming Christmas Parties!

Nicola & Hulla - I hope you both feel OK after your restless nights. I also had a sleepless night as my DD wouldn't settle. She woke up this morning with a blocked nose, so I guess she wasn't feeling great. I took her to nursery anyway, oh...the endless guilt of being a working mum!

Highheels & loueytbg - Congrats on seeing a heartbeat at a scan, what great news Grin

Spannerpants - Try not to worry too much, I remember that feeling of gloom from my second pregnancy and all was fine in the end. The cramping can just be your womb stretching, it can be perfectly normal. Feeling ill doesn't help. Hope you cheer up soon Smile

BrightSideOfLife · 17/11/2010 09:50

mamafoof - sorry I cross-posted!

Are you using the same brand of tests each time, as the different brands seem to have different levels of darkness on the test line?

I have read that the darkness of the line doesn't mean anything in particular. Perhaps see if you can go to your doctor and get referred to an EPU where they will do a repeat blood test to check your hormone levels?

Mamafoof · 17/11/2010 09:54

thanks BrightSideOfLife. Used FR tests and CB digi - the FR lines are fainter than before but CB digi went from 1-2weeks and 2-3 weeks.

I have bought some more (how insane am i?) but if still not great then will go to the doctor. Just can't stand the waiting for the blood tests! Thanks again x

ItIsILeclerc · 17/11/2010 10:28

Hello all - I'm going to stop lurking and introduce myself. I know a few of you from another thread but will be staying incognito in here for now ...

Got my BFP about a week ago but still hasn't really sunk in. Think I'm about 5 weeks now, with an EDD of 24th July. Jealous of those of you who are early enough to fit in 14 week scans before Christmas and put photos in your cards - that was my plan but hasn't quite worked. Will try to find someone to do an early scan before Christmas though so we can tell our families then rather than hiding the fact I'm not drinking. Hoping my MNing SILs haven't spotted me already Blush

Erm what else? Already have a DD who is just over two - we were hoping for an 18 month age gap (I'm 34 and DH is 39 so wanted to have them all close together) but hasn't quite worked out that way, so I've been trawling MN for stories of how great a 3 year age gap is. Still breastfeeding DD and happy to continue now we've got that elusive BFP - boobs aren't sore yet luckily. This is my first MN AN thread but was in one on a different forum last time and loved it :)

No real symptoms here other than a bit of cramping/nausea/absentmindedness but not expecting them to kick in for another week at least. Wonder when it will all sink in?!

PS Spanner just wanted to agree with Brightside - it's probably just everything stretching. I had cramps all the way through the first trimester with DD and all was fine - had some this time round too, though I assumed that I was all streatched already!

Binkybell · 17/11/2010 10:30

Hi everyone

Just had a BFP, so thought I'd join your group and add myself to the stats. Am trying really hard not to get too excited, as I had a MC last time very early on, so I'm just keeping everything crossed that these next weeks fly by!

Weirdly the symptoms are a lot less severe this time round, so not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, only symptoms at the moment are ginormous boobs and the most ridiculous mood swings - I pity my DH!!!
