Due July 2011?

1000 replies

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Just a quick post from me as I am supposed to be working.

mamafoof can you go to an EPU if you're worried? here. They say if you are less than 13 weeks and having cramps then you can go for a reassurance scan. It might still be too early to see a heart beat and I agree with the others, it's probably just stretching (I had similar pain last night and this morning) but just if you want to put your mind at rest, it's something to consider.

I assumed that I was all streatched already!"

Grin Welcome to the thread & congrats on your bfp Wink

Welcome binkybell

nicolamumof3 · 17/11/2010 10:50

congratulations to more new 'arrivals'!! Fabulous news!!

Spanner, i wouldn't worry too much if no bleeding? i had awful cramps around 4weeks and was sure i was mc but all ok so far am now 5+3.

mamafoof, i think to try and resist the poas is the answer i can't believe i've only done two tests..a positive is a postive no matter how faint or dark.

Am wondering now how much a private scan would be so i could get scanned before xmas at about 10weekish?

squirrel007 · 17/11/2010 11:16

Hi all! I haven't read this properly yet, but wanted to say hi as I have just discovered this thread :) I got a bfp 2 weeks ago and had my first mw appointment yesterday. This is my first pregnancy and i think I'm due around 4th July.

Not too many symptoms here, just tiredness and extreme hunger. Not been feeling sick luckily! I've had to stock up on ginger beer to replace wine, and that has already had some of my friends speculating. Just hope I can keep quiet till Xmas!

I can't seem to copy the list to add myself, but I am

Squirrel007 EDD 4/7 PG#1 Age 29 (No DC yet)

Hope to get to know you all better!

youpie · 17/11/2010 11:26

Hello!
I have been lurking for while, but finally took the plunge to add myself to the list.

I think I am about 6 weeks along, but it doesn't fell real yet. Apart from going to the toilet a lot, I have no other symptoms. I wonder if breasts aren't sore because I am still feeding ds?
If all goes well everyone in our little family will have birthdays in july - one big party month :)

SpannerPants · 17/11/2010 11:58

Thanks so much for the reassurance - it's actually feeling better now.

Things always seem worse when you're tired and feeling rubbish don't they!

Hulla · 17/11/2010 12:09

Glad you're feeling better spanner, you're right, it's easier to feel positive when you're feeling ok in yourself.

Welcome youpie I have done lots of googling on nursing through pregnancy(am still waiting for te Hilary Flowers book from Book Despositry - not very speedy delivery).

Apparently women who are feeding when they get pg often find that the achey, full feeling in the breasts doesn't arrive until later (if at all). I have complete absence of that symptom which was worrying me. Nipple pain is common though (check!) and there are also reports the feeding during pregnancy reduces morning sickness (something mentioned on Kellymom I think).

Have you found your ds is feeding more? My dd has started squeezing my boobs when she feeds. It may be coincidence, surely supply doesn't drop this early?

I bet if my book had arrived I'd know the answer to that! Grin

PregnantInParis · 17/11/2010 12:32

Hello all, thought I would join this thread to help pass the time while I play the waiting game ... truly miraculous first ever BFP one week ago after TTC for 2 years. We were just about to start a first course of IVF and waiting for Day 1 of my cycle. The Dr mentioned almost as an afterthought that I should take a pregnancy test before starting the hormone injections and lo and behold ... did 2 to make sure and also a blood test. Had early scan yesterday which confirmed 5 weeks, too early for a heartbeat. Have another scan and Dr's appt booked for next Fri. Have told immediate family but noone else yet. Trying not to worry too much but it just feels too good to be true after so many months of tests and consultations. Would be grateful for any advice you have. Also the Dr has started me on progesterone for 1 month - has anyone else had the same experience? I'm in France so it's all very different here ...

Twit · 17/11/2010 12:35

mamafoof, have you tried using your first wee of the day, it was traditionally the one to use, it contains a more concentrasted amount of [well everything really] the hormones.

Hi to everyone, I hope you're all well today. If you feel sick eat eat eat. Rich tea and sherbert lemons and sandwiches are working for me when I feel icky. I've had really bad sickness [all day & night every day for most of the pregnancies] with my first two so don't want to go there again.
My second two I ate ate ate and was hardly ever sick. In fact not at all last time.
My ligaments in my lower belly region keep twinging which is lovely.
Extremely tired so have taken to having a nap on the sofa in front of nick jr with ds3.
I feel really jittery sometimes, not had that before - perhaps it's panic!

I'm feeling more positive today, but still very much in denial.

StormBird · 17/11/2010 13:03

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to all the newbies and congrats - my oh my, this thread is filling up fast.

Spanner I have my fingers crossed that all your worry is for nothng and you'll be fine hun.

Nicolamumof3 I'd like to know how much a private early scan would be too....does anyone have any ideas?

So all of our immediate family now know that we are expecting and DP's family are surprisingly ok and supportive about the whole thing. I feel so much better now our families know, its nice to be able to talk about it.

Have also just told my boss at work. She screamed bless her and burst into tears. She is about to go on maternity leave herself and supported me through the 1st PG I had when things turned out for the worst. It was quite emotional.

So I feel ok today. The first signs of morning sickness (or what I think should be renamed all day sickness ) kicked in yesterday. and I have had bouts of nausea all day today too so far. Tummy is aching very low down and my lower back also aches - is that normal??

Hope everyone is ok.... Smile

Hope you don;t mind but have reposted stats and added Squirrel - also put them into date order (blame the OCD)

Thanks for adding me StormBird :)

I'm up to date with the thread now and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has done lots of tests, just to make sure Blush And also that I'm not the only one who worries when pg symptoms ease!

BrightSideOfLife · 17/11/2010 13:48

Hi all!

Congratulations everyone who has joined since.

pregnantinparis what a wonderful story! Congratulations. I have heard of progesterone supplements in early pegnancy as low levels of progesterone can be a contributing factor in early mc. Sounds like your doctor is being extra cautious, which is great.

I had an early (8 week) scan with DD and I paid £90.00 at Babybond in South London. It was in September 2008 though - so has probably increased in price! I was particularly paranoid after my mc and it was worth paying for the peace of mind.

I have just found out that I have to travel long haul for some business meetings. I will be away for 4 days. I can't decide whether it is a good idea to travel in the early stages of pregnancy (Especially if morning sickness has kicked in by then). I also don't want to tell my boss I am pregnant so soon. Anyone got any thoughts?

I just do not feel like working today, so am pottering around MN instead Grin

PregnantInParis · 17/11/2010 14:06

Thanks a lot BrightSide, and I totally emphathise with not feeling like working! I can't concentrate on anything at all so am doing much pottering and googling instead ...

Hopefully next week's scan should be more reassuring, but I have a feeling the next few weeks before Xmas are going to go very slowly for all of us on this thread! But it is great to have people to share the journey with on here, will keep my fingers crossed for all of you from across the Channel.

It is going to be real struggle not telling colleagues and friends, particularly as I've been advised to take it v. easy and be extra careful with food & drink ... Managed surreptitiously to order a non-alcoholic cocktail while out for work drinks last night, not easy!

notnearlyasblondasiwas · 17/11/2010 14:26

Hey ladies
Sorry I don't get on here very much, work are keeping me very very busy at the moment. I am considering a early scan, was going to use here but it is £150. I think I am going to do it anyway, with my POAS habbit have probably spent that already! Blush

Have been feeling nauseous in the afternoons last few days, which is weird as I had no symptoms in my first pregnancy. I had to got to bed last night at 9pm, just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.

Think I am tired as we were painting all weekend at our house we are rennovating. Am going to need to step up the efforts with the rennovations if we are going to be done by July though (major major project!) Anyone else in the middle of mad rennovations AND pregnant or just me?

jigglebum · 17/11/2010 15:14

Hi everyone - can I join. Had a BFP on Sunday but already knew I was probably pregnant by then really.

I am
EDD 18th July preg no 2, aged 34, (DS 2.5)

I suspect my EDD will be adjusted to a bit later than that as have a long cycle.

Typically this was the month when - we hardly managed to SWI, moved house 10 days ago and the whole place needs decorating from top to bottom (so notnearlysoblond you are not alone!) and I have a job interview in 5 days time (I am SAHM at the mo!) We had been TTC since the start of the year so I was all ready to book the doctors app to discuss fertility if not successful this month! Typical heh!

Anyone else told people in RL yet? We are waiting a while yet but I am rubbish at keeping secrets!

BrightSideOfLife · 17/11/2010 15:41

hi jigglebum congrats! It certainly sounds like everything is go for you Grin

we haven't told anyone in RL yet and I don't want to jinx it by telling too many people yet, but I think it might seem more real if we did tell some close friends or family. I will have to tell my parents very soon as they are planning a holiday to visit us next year (they live abroad) and they need to know so they can adjust their dates accordingly!

It feels very unreal - no real symptoms and nothing has changed apart from a growing collection of + HPTs in the bathroom!

BeatrixRotter · 17/11/2010 16:17

Just catching up with this thread! Hello and welcome to everyone.

ItisIleclerc I would be interested in anything positive you have found out about a 3 yr age gap as this is excactly what we're going to have.

Stormbird & Nicola I am thinking of having a private scan as I am going away on holiday in December and would like to know everything is ok before I go. The fetal medicine centre in Harley street does them for £100 and has been highly recommendd elsewhere on mumsnet. I also found somewhere in the Docklands which was cheaper at £75

www.fetalmedicine.com/

www.myultrababy.com/early-scan.html

Guess it depends where you live.

Brightside I will also be travelling long haul but for a holiday which was booked yonks ago. I have looked into it and was told by my doc I am fine to fly although obviously if you are suffering from MS it will not be nice for you. There is a thread somewhere on here about women pilots flying in the early stages of pregnancy which was very reassuring. I shall try to find it for you.

BeatrixRotter · 17/11/2010 16:21

This is reassuring and has good advice re flying

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/947242-Has-anyone-flown-long-haul-in-first-trimester

BrassicaBabe · 17/11/2010 17:21

Snap Brightside My +preggo tests are lined up showing a nice graduated + line Grin

I tested +ve a week ago. A day is yet to go by without me POAS! Grin

Mamafoof · 17/11/2010 19:15

Thanks Ladies. Got a scan and although the lining was thick, they couldn't see anything. So they took my bloods and hormones were v low and low progestorone too which meant I won't have a viable pregnancy and it's all over. I am devastated but wishing you ladies happy and healthy pgs xx

StormBird · 17/11/2010 19:27

I am so sorry Mamafoof - I don't even know what to say.

Sending you massive hugs XXXXXX

BeatrixRotter · 17/11/2010 19:38

So sorry to hear that Mamafoof.

squirrel007 · 17/11/2010 19:51

Very sorry to hear that mamafoof x

Eglu · 17/11/2010 20:02

Mamafoof, so sorry to hear that. :(

SpannerPants · 17/11/2010 20:10

Big hugs Mamafoof, take care of yourself xxx

loueytbg · 17/11/2010 21:50

mamafoof I'm so sorry, its rubbish. Take care of yourself x

Welcome to all the newbies - there's loads of us!! pregnantinparis what a wonderful story!!

notnearly, like beatrix I'm going for a private scan at the fetal medicine centre when I will be 10 wks - £100 so cheaper than the place you linked to. They are supposed to be brilliant.

brightside I flew long haul when I was 6wks pg with DTs (to Indonesia!). Holiday was booked way before I found out I was pg. My ms kicked in properly the day before the flight so I felt really really rough the whole way there. Dehydration makes ms much much worse. It was worth it though as I then spent the next 2 weeks lying on the beach and floating in the sea. Working would have been a different kettle of fish but presumably you would be flying business class???? I think if you don't want to go, you should tell your boss because they would understand.

storm yep I'm with you on the all day sickness. Horrible isn't it. Mine is worse first thing and last thing and i have to eat every 2-3 hrs otherwise I start gagging.

I feel very very fat already - obvious tummy and I can't suck it in. Hardly any of my trousers fit and I'm not even 8wks yet!
