Due July 2011?

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Mmm mcchicken sandwich and chips devoured in less time than it took to purchase through a speedy drive-through! I had my booking in appt last week with my midwife who didn't take any blood? Or urine? Or blood pressure! This normal? I have my 12 week scan on Christmas eve, do they take blood then? < checks bag for remaining 'bag chips' ;)>

isitreallythattime · 10/12/2010 18:35

I too have a constant horrid taste at back of mouth. I think if that went I wouldnt be eating so much as Im sure its in hope of removing taste.
I wonder how often you can eat McD's and stay 'healthy' my thoughts are at the moment our bodies are craving food we need, so go with it!!??
I too have scan on 29th dec, cant wait. Just struggling through last two weeks at work before stopping for christmas. Went and bought some bigger clothes in hope of hiding tummy but not working. GOd knows how I will hide over next two weeks, not sure Ill make it.
Got black tie event at work in couple of weeks, anyone discovered any good cover up dresses for christmas anywhere?
Has anyone else got acheing tummyss, by the end of the day I just ach, really uncomfortable, and feel I get bigger as the day goes on.

Scottygirl10 · 10/12/2010 19:33

Ok, somewhat regretting the mcDonalds now...nausea through the roof! :(

ItIsILeclerc · 10/12/2010 23:45

Grin I would have had McDs today had it been on the right side of the road!

Lolita, that scan place sounds rubbish! Can you cancel and re-book under a fake name? Wink

Had scan this morning and yay yay yay saw little heartbeat (just one!) yammering away Grin Grin Grin Measuring 8+1 so gave me an EDD of 21/7. Still planning to lie to family and tell them it's two weeks later though (went two weeks over with DD, not putting up with the pestering if it happens this time!). Was vaginal scan and was fine but ooh it was cold Blush

Then got back into car to find it wouldn't start as we'd run out of petrol - got there on fumes, which at least meant I spent more time worrying about whether we'd make it than I did worrying about the scan itself. Had to put DD in buggy and spend half an hour walking through Liverpool trying to find a petrol station, then another half hour hanging about in the shop while DH went back for the car - not the nice family day we had planned!

Was absolutely shattered this afternoon and ended up conking out on the sofa while angel DH got DD ready for bed. Not sure if it's first trimester exhaustion setting in (now?) or just because I didn't sleep well last night for fretting. Nearly midnight now so maybe it isn't first trimester exhaustion ... better get to bed!

Fab news on scan, Leclerc! Xmas Grin

I actually told our team manager yesterday. Hadn't meant to but we were meeting about something else and she announced her pregnancy a week ago so felt natural to tell her. Going to tell my Directors after Christmas though...maybe after 12 week scan.

Got Xmas party next week though so shoul be interesting on no booze! Think will wear same dress as last year which is kind of a bronze Grecian style - emphasises the boobs ank skims over tummy. Just need to try on and check it still fits Blush

nicolamumof3 · 11/12/2010 09:16

fab news about scan leclerec. Worth every penny as it helps you relax

MissLolita · 11/12/2010 10:11

Morning all! I had my scan this morning and saw one baby and a little heartbeat! Yay! As I suspected the scan showed me slightly earlier than LMP date (10+2 rather than 10+5) but the lady said it was still a bit early to have an accurate date. So pleased and excited! They did charge me the extra £20 as I was over 10 weeks which I think is a bit of a cheek but it was worth it for the peace of mind :)

inbetweener · 11/12/2010 10:21

Morning all,
Congrats on all the early scans and visible heartbeats ! lovely to hear xx

Well my 2 are snuggled up on the sofa under the throw watching barbie and the nutcracker, which is just as well as I am still sooooooooooooooooooooo sick.

I dont know what to do with myself. Its getting me down now. DH did dinner and sorted the girls out last night while I had a bath then snoozed Blush they must think mum is a right moaner at the moment as I havent told them anything.
DH even ordered chinese last night for us to eat then snuggle but although I really, really wanted it I couldnt eat it !!!
I feel so nauseaus all the bloody time I could ( and did ) cry. Its just not going away and I have so much to do.
We are meant to be going out buying the tree today but I just want to go back to bed.

Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh suggestions anyone ??

HELP !! I'm only 8 weeks !!

Icklelilly · 11/12/2010 10:48

inbetweener that's rough, was it the same with the girls? Everyone keeps telling me that the magic 12 week turning point is the cure all!

Do you have family nearby or some uderstading friends that can help pick up the slack? I'm in Bath, am I close? I do feel for you, my MS is now manageable and I have no other children and I'm still delegating tasks on Xmas day after offering to host it round my gaff - suddenly feeling very lazy!

nice one lolita, congrats, mine is in 9 days and counting. If i have a DD, I wanted to call her lolita - love the name but its so wrong!!

inbetweener · 11/12/2010 13:30

Aww thanks ickle thats sweet of you.
I'll be ok DH can do everything for a change !!

Nope I didnt have it at ALL with the girls so this is a real eye opener for me !! And to think I felt so smug before lol

emmywoo · 11/12/2010 14:52

Hi all,
Need some re-assurance.
Had a private scan on Tuesday due to previous miscarriage and everything was great.
However, just been to loo and when I wiped there was some brown discharge, now worried sick.
Anyone else had this.
I am 8 weeks.

xxxxxx

LadyGoneGaga · 11/12/2010 15:09

Emmy be calm, hon. I had brown bleeding with DS and it was fine. Went on for about 5 days and then went away and all was well. Brown's meant to be old blood so probably stuff from implantation. I know my mc bleeding was different, it was red and clotty and I had lost my symptoms. I know it's terribly worrying though - can you call the EPU and organise another scan? Are your symptoms still all there?

xxx

LadyGoneGaga · 11/12/2010 15:12

Sorry you feel rubbish, Inbetweener. I do too but keep trying to tell myself that it's a good thing - I felt great last time and then miscarried.

Can DP go get the tree with the girls while you have a sleep? I normally find I feel better after a nap and something to eat.

emmywoo · 11/12/2010 15:13

Hi,
Havent actually had any major symptoms at all and nor did I in dd pregnancy. I am tired, boobs are sore if I poke them!!!! and I am not sleeping at all, keep waking up at 4am and not being able to sleep again.
Our EPU is closed at weekends. I have just spoken to midwife who said not to worry and if it starts turning into fresh blood then go to A&E.
xxxx

LadyGoneGaga · 11/12/2010 15:16

Well that's good that you still feel tired and your boobs are still sore. Can they offer you a scan for Monday?

emmywoo · 11/12/2010 15:18

Midwife gave me the number and I need to ring on monday to see if they will let me have scan.
Just been to loo and nothing there, think I have been about 50 times in last 20 mins!!!!!
xxxxxx

LadyGoneGaga · 11/12/2010 16:13

Fingers crossed for you, hon.

highheelsandequations · 11/12/2010 17:05

emmy I've now had brown spotting for the past week and a bit (started at 8+1). Scan last Thurs showed everything fine and spotting is coming from small patch of lining that has come away. Know exactly how you are feeling as I am still worried sick but the midwives told me it's very common and usually causes no problems. Dr I spoke to also said that his wife had bleeding in 2 of her pregnancies, both of which led to a healthy baby. I keep poking my boobs to check they are still sore as I've not had any sickness or anything much really either. Midwife told me that unless it starts to look more like a period or I am completely symptom free for 3 days then (fingers crossed) everything should be fine. Make sure you tell them how worried you are when you phone and say you really need a scan for peace of mind as it's causing you so much worry and stress. I'm sure that you'll see everything is fine and there's nothing to worry about. xx

nicolamumof3 · 11/12/2010 18:07

emmy hope all ok, as others have said brown blood usually ok? get scan at epu to put mind at rest.

inbetweener i was presecribed anti sickness meds a couple weeks ago i couldn't sit up without being sick was getting dehydrated as couldn't even drink. Im still not drinking much now. Have stopped taking meds and whilst still feel nauseous 24/7 i find it manageable i suppose. As soon as i feel ok i will get done what i can i.e bath/shower, sort kids, do some washing/housework. Then i may need to collapse again on sofa. Thats how my days go now!

Im 9w today.

Scottygirl10 · 11/12/2010 18:28

Emmy this exact same thing to me at 8 weeks. I mc in September and fell pregnant again straight away in October so I have been terrified over every twinge. When I saw brownish coloured discharge at 8 weeks I just about had a melt down. Started on a Friday night and couldn't be scanned till the Tuesday morning. Longest weekend of my life. Anyway, turned out to be nothing sinister and a lovely little heart beat was flickering away. MW explained to me that a significant number of women experience this around the time they would have been due their period. It went away after a couple of days and I'm 10+3 now. Hope this helps x

emmywoo · 11/12/2010 19:51

Thanks ladies for the reassurance.
Have many of you not had many pregnancy symptoms. I keep having to really poke my boobs to see if they hurt, no sickness and feel okish in myself. xx

Fraochsmum · 11/12/2010 21:17

Glad the girls have been able to reassure you emmy, it really is worrying. I had bleeding early on, but more period-like rather than brown. The mw thought I might have an ectopic after the first scan, but the last one showed the sac in the right place and a heartbeat.
Fwiw I have had no pg symptoms either - I kept thinking my period was starting (also happened in my 1st pg, turned out it was eroded cervix from the pill), then I couldn't face a 2nd glass of wine so did test next day Xmas Grin
However I have been totally exhausted for the last couple of days, even walking short distances leaves me knackered. Perhaps also due to the fact I've lost some appetite? L normally eat much more than DH, but he has been finishing my meals off instead. I made jelly today for the first time in years and it was so yummy!! I'm usually a savoury person, but last time I was pg I kept making apple crumble and started eating lots of chocolate. I know McD's has been mentioned, but have any of you had real changes to your tastes?

ItIsILeclerc · 11/12/2010 22:09

Evening ladies :) Hope you're okay emmy and manage to get another scan to put your mind at rest. I too have heard that brown blood is nothing to worry about (had some very minor brown spotting with DD and was fine). Also was going to say that I know two (intelligent, educated) women who have got to three months without realising they were pg, so obviously their symptoms can't have been too bad!

One was my DSIL - I remember looking at her tummy and being a bit surprised that she was still carrying a bit of baby weight. She was also surprised and thought she'd done something terrible to her stomach muscles and went to the doctor, only to come back with a BFP then had a scan to find she was three months gone (quite jealous of this!). Thought this might reassure anyone who thinks they might be showing earlier second time + around - people will just think we're still chubby from last time Wink

Might have had very small pinkish bit of CM myself tonight Confused but trying not to worry about it too much after good scan yesterday. Am 8+2 so would fit with bleeding around the time AF would have been due theory maybe.

Feeling knackered and rubbish. We've been to a wedding today, which was lovely, but had an early start so we could take DD to soft play to knacker her out, then no time for lunch and didn't get to eat anything substantial until late afternoon, by which time I was ready to keel over from hunger then of course overcompensated by stuffing myself. Urgh. Feel really queasy now but too many things to do before I go to bed. Also feeling a bit middle-aged - left wedding early evening, sober, and now slobbing in pjs - in ye olden days I would have been on the dancefloor until the small hours!

Icklelilly · 12/12/2010 00:46

emmywoo - glad you brought up lack of symptom, my boobs are not at all tender or sore. I was really exhausted around week six, but am now fine . Also, apart from an aversion to fabric softener and the smell of coffee, I don't really have any nausea at all. Apologies for TMI but even the constipation was relatively shortlived and may have been more to do with pre-christmas crappy diet than raging hormones.

I'm taking comfort from the fact that there are a number of examples (many in this thread alone) that show that a lack of symptoms is entirely inconclusive - inbetweener had NO MS with first two, itisileclerc's DSIL didn't even know she was pregnant until the 3rd month!

I raised lack of symptoms as a concern at my 'booking in' a week ago and said I was worried about all the things that could go wrong. My midwife suggested I stop for a second and think about all things my body has already done right, so I'm currently giving it the benefit of the doubt.

A BFP beats a bit of brown blood hands down!!!

Icklelilly · 12/12/2010 00:53

itisileclerc - if it makes you feel better, I went to a friends 40th birthday this evening, arrived at 8 pm and was tucked up in a cab on my way home by 10.30pm. Didn't even get a sniff of the dancefloor!

I wasn't tired exactly, but craving sofa, PJ's and the baked cheesecake I knew was hidden away at the back of the fridge...although am now unable to sleep due to sugar rush and the two cups of tea required to wash down the quarter third of cheesecake I've just scarfed...it may have been nearer half!Blush
