Due July 2011?

1000 replies

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Hey Gaga me too! That Monday is my birthday as well, not sure how I feel about that but as next appointment isn't until new year, I'm not going to turn it down. The wait (and admittedly quite a bit of worry) is driving me mad though.

Fantastic news Nicola, v. v. jealous!

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 16:06

Great news Nicola! Always nice when you've had that bit of reassurance.

Oh man, my boobs are sooooo sore today. I've had tender boobs and sensitive nipples in pg before but this feels like red hot pokers sticking into them. It's making me feel so miserable. The only good thing is that it must mean things are alright!

12 days until my next scan. Not that I'm counting down or anything!

LadyGoneGaga · 08/12/2010 16:16

Coinicidentally got my booking in appt on same day as well! A few hours after the scan - might have to take day off as going to be a nervous wreck!

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/12/2010 16:19

That's lovely nicolamumof3, glad it all went so well!

I would happily have something alcoholic but tried having a small glass of guiness (usually my fave) and couldn't swallow the first mouthful. Wine tastes like vinegar to me too. I am hoping to have the odd glass of champagne at Christmas as i have heard it is the best thing to drink as it leaves your system the fastest. That may be a old wives tale though Xmas Hmm

I am absolutely dying for some blue cheese, is there any that you are allowed? I suppose I could cook it in something?

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 16:29

You can cook it, that's fine. I know that champagne is the fastest thing to hit your system so I guess it follows that it's the fastest things to leave it too. Though, really how long something is in your system is irrelevant. It's there - that's the point.

Mind you, I'll be indulging too - I'm not a dry pregnant person anyway!

Stangirl · 08/12/2010 17:11

Gaga I'm all about the junk food too. With my last pregnancy I practically lived off Pot Noodle. Can't wait to try their Xmas dinner flavour. I'm really craving a KFC now - which is odd because I probably haven't had one for about 15 years.

LadyGoneGaga · 08/12/2010 17:20

I had a McDonalds the other day - I NEVER eat McDonalds. Normally makes me want to vom. Had a Big Mac and fries and yummed it up. And followed by a Christmas pie which is like their hot apple pies (deep fried) filled with minemeat and custard. My God, it was lush.

I'm so ashamed.

AND I had Supernoodles for lunch the other day. Normally am a bit of a foodie Blush

LadyGoneGaga · 08/12/2010 17:22

Yeah Bitey - put it in a blue cheese sauce - maybe with gnocchi and bacon and a crisp green salad with balsamic dressing. Or melted on a burger (as long as not too rare) - mmm, with some onion rings too and fat chips.

highheelsandequations · 08/12/2010 17:46

Glad all went well nicola Xmas Smile

isitreallythattime · 08/12/2010 17:49

All this food talk is making me hungry.

Rare beef, brie, and prawns is all I fancy at the moment. Maybe ill treat myself to some cooked prawns?

Has anyone got any concerns about twins? The reason I ask is that i am getting a little twitchy about it as I have them in the family. Feel quite big for 7 weeks and im sure I can feel some sort of movement..??? Hmmmmm....

Also, re the bubbles, someone told me that in France they prescribe champagne for MS.

Might work Wink

How is everyone getting on with theyre DPs? Mine is getting a rough time from me at the moment, not that hes doing anything wrong, I just feel weird towards him at the moment. Please someone tell me its not just me as worrying that were have another baby (or two) and the future is doomed if I feel like this now....? Sad

isitreallythattime · 08/12/2010 17:51

Oh and regarding Mcdonalds - i have alwats avoided them, however, the last two weeks I have sunk my teeth into two lots, even gave some chippies to my son after hed been sick and seemed to perk him up so maybe Mcdonalds and champagne will get us through the grim sickness? x

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 18:18

I had McD's for lunch today Blush

I was worried about twins Isit. I don't normally get nausea but was getting lots and I've thickened a lot around my waist already. I know this is pg as I've lost 9lbs in the last month and am eating the same (apart from the chicken sandwich!).

However, my scan on Mon showed just one. They also saw something 'wierd' on my womb wall but not to worry Hmm

If you're worried, a family history of twins is sufficient reason to ask for an early scan.

highheelsandequations · 08/12/2010 18:25

buttonmoon something "weird"? Confused I'm assuming that was the terminology they used as well ... The medical profession can be so informative sometimes!

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 18:32

Atrocious spelling, sorry!

Yes, the sonographer actually said weird! She went on to elaborate and said something straight, and shining brighter than the womb wall. She said that if I hadn't had my coil removed she'd have assumed that it was part of that.

I do so love being an enigma!

highheelsandequations · 08/12/2010 18:47

How bizarre! You have a shiny bit in your uterus! And I didn't mean to pick you up on spelling Blush

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 18:56

I pick people up all the time Grin

As for the shiny uterus bits, just you wait. Those vejazzles are just so last week. You'll be wanting one soon.

Maybe Grin

SpannerPants · 08/12/2010 19:02

I love the shiny uterus button!

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/12/2010 19:35

The French are so civilised isitreally and your blue cheese suggestions lady have made me dribble! I got through my lecture without puking on the students (although they were so disengaged they probably wouldn't have noticed) by sipping orangina and pretending I was on my holidays!
Am Xmas Envy about shiney uterus button!

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 20:17

I told you you'd all be jealous!

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 20:29

Seriously now then girls, why do I get all shivery at this time of night? And yes, I know it's cold outside...

I feel like I've got a temperature but I haven't but it's been going on for a couple of weeks. It's v odd.

Had a bacon sandwich for tea. After McD's for lunch Blush. I might get scurvy if I keep this up!

nicolamumof3 · 08/12/2010 20:41

i had mc d's too tonight! Took the boys to Tae Kwon Do and by time we'd come out of there and sainsbo's it was 6pm and fffrrreeezing so quick pop into mc d's all fed all warm, home for bath bed/ perfect really Xmas Grin

have promised will eat all fresh and healthy tomorrow tho Xmas Blush

sues1974 · 08/12/2010 22:15

i want a maccy D's now and a shiny uterus :) xx

ItIsILeclerc · 08/12/2010 22:34

Yay nicola Grin

I have a scan booked for Friday morning. Nervous as hell.

My nipples are suffering in the cold weather! Also I do sometimes let out a little scream when DD first latches on, trying not to traumatise her Blush

I've been a little more lax about things like Parma ham this time round (eg scoffing a load out of my mum's fridge the other day - last time I was all about junk food and sweets, this time it's savoury and fruit Confused) but won't be going completely gungho. I think it helps to know that somethings might actually harm your baby and some might just make things slightly unpleasant for you eg because of the increased risk of food poisoning. I gave up drinking while ttc and we're too broke to buy decent wine now anyway so it hasn't really been an issue. Did have a small polysterene cup of mulled wine the other day but assume it was fairly low in alcohol! Will probably do same as last time, avoid for the first three months and then an occasional drink. Last time round my parents openly mocked me for following guidelines Hmm - pissed me off a bit!

I am slightly worried about twins but for no real reason other than the fact I think they're more likely if you're breastfeeding and they keep happening out of the blue to people I know. Also I am sure I keep feeling movements too isitreally but then I've been having phantom kicks for the past two years Grin I assume that my symptoms would be worse if I had double the hormones plus my tummy doesn't feel particularly large; hard to compare because last time I was already a stone overweight (it was just post-Christmas) and had just started dieting the day I got my BFP (and promptly gave up dieting Grin) so everything was already tight. This time most of my clothes are the baggy ones I bought post-pregnancy. I am uber-stylish Grin

Eglu · 09/12/2010 10:24

Morning all. Gald for your scan news nicola. My first scan is on Tuesday. I will be exactly 11 weeks then. I can't wait, feeling ridiculously nervous. Not feeling as sick so worrying about it. STupid really. Probably is a natural dropping off as I'm already 10 weeks.

I have been eating pretty healthy , but also enjoyed a McDonalds at the weekend.

Nicola DS1 does Tae Kwon Do too, althoughhis lesson has been cancelled the last two weeks because of snow. I'm quite glad, because he doesn't finish until 7.30pm and I'm so tired by then.

inbetweener · 09/12/2010 11:51

Morning everyone,
mmmmmm who mentioned McDonaldS !!!!! I could so eat that right now ! I am really craving junk or savoury food right now. Im usually a cake and chocolate fiend but dont fancy either of those !

Am still feeling soooo queasy though. Last night DH made me steak, new potatoes and stuffed mushrooms with cheese and bacon. It was so lovely of him but all i could eat was the potatoes, I chucked the rest in the bin Blush dont think he was very impressed lol.

Especially when I made a ham & mustard pickle sandwich about an hour later.

Talking of DH's how are you all getting on with yours ? Im feeling queay all the time and tired so I am afraid that the frantic sexlife we had while ttc has gone out the window and I rather fear that DH is sulking a little bit. I have esplained and he says he isnt but you know when you can tell they are having a sulk !!Hmm
