Due July 2011?

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Am so tired, Choco. Hada rotten cold so been off for a couple of days as that combined with ickyness has just pushed me over edge. And DS full of cold too so let him stay home today from nursery too - we had a nap together for two hours at lunchtime. And I will still be in bed by nine!

We haven't told any family yet although I have told two friends - only cos one of them asked if I had any news and am rubbish at lying. Going to tell family at Christmas if the early scan on 20th is ok. Then will tell work and wider folk after the 12 week scan.

buttonmoon78 · 07/12/2010 15:51

Oh choco I'm right there with you on smells. DS is eating a bag of smokey bacon discos on the other side of the lounge (whilst watching Madagascar - just so you all know what a bad mummy I am!) and the smell...

I love smokey bacon normally too Sad

WhizzBangPhlebas · 07/12/2010 16:04

Inbetweener that's excellent news :)

I'm really sick this time too - far worse than the last couple of times, this last week was particularly horrendous. I find fizzy drinks help a bit too & sour tastes so I've been guzzling a mixture of tonic water & orange juice. Still haven't told anyone - I got to 28 weeks last time so I'm aiming to wait as long as possible ;)

I had another appointment today (still haven't booked but see the consultant every two weeks) - it was fine, had a scan which was good (dated at 10+5 but they are sticking to my dates of 10+3) & they gave me a date for the c-section too! So June 17th 2011 it is Shock

UpsyDaisyDo · 07/12/2010 16:08

Hey Inbetweener so glad your scan went well.

chocoflakes I'm 37 and 6+4 as well. Still very few symptons except I'm slightly constipated and have dreadful wind!!! lol

V tired too although I don't think that's due to pregnancy its more due to me and winter just not getting along.

buttonmoon78 · 07/12/2010 17:05

I've just done a little more research online and found a very useful website which has made me feel a bit better. I thought I was working from a date of LMP Oct 23/4, EDD Jul 29/30. What they said yesterday freaked me slightly as they said it wasn't measuring big enough to be that.

But, this website (a military obs&gynae site Hmm) said that a fetal pole of 2mm is 6+2 which is exactly what I thought!

So, am holding out hope for my next scan that they'll tell me I'm 8 weeks (I'm not fussy about the +2!) and that they'll give me an EDD of late July.

Have put my favourite jeans in for a last wash before packing them away for a few months. They are just too uncomfortable! I've got several pairs of black leggings plus a nice comfy pair of jeggings from Sainsburys. They look much more like skinnies than jeggings so that's ok! And as no one will see the top I don't mind wearing jeggings!

Like I'm going to be the sartorial arbiter for the next few months anyway... Grin

highheelsandequations · 07/12/2010 17:29

Glad your scan went well inbetweener

nicolamumof3 · 07/12/2010 18:26

hello all, not been on for a few days. Still hanging in here at 8+3. Still terrified tho, i just can't relax. I have a scan tomorrow and am petrified. Had no bleeding whatsover and full of symptons so no reason to worry. This is no.4 i should be used to all this buy now Hmm anyway tomorrow afternoon will tell. I had to book a private early scan to put me out of my misery Grin

nicolamumof3 · 07/12/2010 18:26

oh and i fell on ice early and feel a bit crampy so worrying about that.

buttonmoon78 · 07/12/2010 19:53

I'm sure it'll all be fine Nicola. After all, baby is so tiny and well protected at the moment.

Don't worry - you'll get to your scan tomorrow and see that little heartbeat powering away. And then you won't be able to stop smiling all day!

nicolamumof3 · 07/12/2010 20:08

i do hope so, goodness knows why im so paranoid this time!! thanks x

buttonmoon78 · 07/12/2010 20:10

Because paranoia comes with the territory! Surely you know this by now!

My mum reliably informed me the other day that it never goes. I'm her youngest at 32!

sues1974 · 07/12/2010 21:11

Hi RIDDZY
just wanted to let you know your not the only one with no symptoms, ive not had any at all other than very slightly sore boobs around week 6 and 7 then nothing. oh i am bloated and have gone from wearing my size 12 jeans to my 14's which i wore for a while after my c-section. If it wasnt for being paranoid and worried about something happening to my little bean i could easily forget that i was pregnant. Even my husband said tonight he forgot i was pregnant (hes just been away working for 5 days).
i had no symptoms with my little boy either although did feel very slight sick when hungry but it soon went off. also last time i was starving all the time and put 6lbs on straight away (not hard as i had been doing weight watchers when i fell pregnant). this time id say im maybe a little hungry at supper time - not something id normally eat - but not throughout the day. no sickness or anything thank god, sometimes its a worry but then most the time i just think how lucky i am. oh by the way im only 8+2 too but had a scan last tuesday and there was a little hearbeat flashing away.
suz xx

scrivette · 07/12/2010 21:38

Wow WhizzBang how did you manage not to tell anyone for so long?! I am very impressed! Before I was pregnant I always said that I didn't want to say anything for ages, but as soon as I found out I wanted to tell the world!

ItIsILeclerc · 07/12/2010 23:33

Evening all :) Sorry I haven't been around much over the last few days, been lurking but feeling too dreadful in the evenings to post - MS is well and truly back, though just nausea, not actually throwing up (though did try the other night in the hope it would make me feel better). Been existing on fruit and chicken soup (Covent Garden Chicken & Tarragon soup was my guaranteed hangover cure in my 20s and I was gutted when they discontinued it - even got the recipe and made it myself once but didn't quite hit the spot - so over the moon it is back on the shelves!).

Also I think picked up a bug/food poisoning over the weekend and spent Sunday in bed feeling spectacularly terrible between trips to the loo, then went to my mum's birthday party in the afternoon, drank a cup of tea and puked it back up again. Oops. Quite hoping it was food poisoning, as really don't want DD or DH to get it, though if it was food poisoning then the most likely suspect would probably be some pork product (or a Big Mac?), which obviously wouldn't be great.

Spent a huge chunk of this morning trying to find somewhere that would give me an early scan - don't want to waste NHS resources but also no way we can afford £60+ for a private scan. Think I might have got something sorted for Friday so hopefully we will see a heartbeat and can start telling our immediate family, though like LadyGG will probably wait until after our 12 week scan to tell everyone else.

Have a terrible confession Blush which is that I just got out the doppler Blush that lovely lovely DH bought me because I was such a bag of nerves last time round. Picked up something around 200BPM a couple of times (?surely too high for LO) and briefly one at 169BPM so that has cheered me a bit amongst my panicking :)

Welcome newbies and congrats inbetweener :)

Chocoflakes · 08/12/2010 10:38

itisleclerc if it puts your mind at rest then dont worry about it, just dont rely on it too much x

Is anyone else sneeking a peek at the december thread? Its really exciting that they are at the end of the pregnancy road and we are just starting!
Feel fed up today, I was groaning just turning over last night due to sore boobs and just uncomforable and I thought 'crikey i havn't even got a big bump, how am I going to cope when I do?!'

inbetweener · 08/12/2010 11:08

Morning everyone,
I did NOT want to get up this morning. I am sooo tired these days. I keep getting into a panic thinking OMG I KNOW I am not going to handle the night wakings very well as I didnt with my DD and what the hell have I let myself in for ! My 2 look after themselves now really and I can lie in till 9 at the weekends at the moment. Oh well, it will be worth it eeeeeek !

I havent told anyone yet. I dont intend to tell anyone for ages if I can help it. Ceertainly not till after the scan on the 6th jan. In actual fact there is an evil part of me that would like to wait and see if I can hang it out till the 20 week scan lol ! Bet I cant though, depends how big my bump gets I guess.

UpsyDaisyDo · 08/12/2010 11:58

inbetweener I feel the same about keeping it a secret although I'm sure I won't be able to. That's one positive about this horrid cold weather tho... lots of layers and jumpers hide any early spread of baby fat!! lol

itsTwiiiiitmaaaaasss · 08/12/2010 12:38

Hi all, I don't want to tell anyone until I have to either, but I might have to sooner rather than later 'cos I am bigger and have no energy and feel crap.
I have finally got round to phoning though so...
I hope everyone is feeling ok today, or at least feeling like they can cope. All this constant snacking is tiring Xmas Wink

Stangirl · 08/12/2010 13:47

Is anyone else being naughty about food? I was reasonably good with my DD but this time round I've thrown caution to the wind. I drink 2 cops of caffeinated tea a day, eat as much brie as we can afford and yesterday had sushi. About the only thing I'll say no to is liver pate and that's because I don't like it. I also drink about a bottle of wine a week - but that's only on principle because last time all alcohol tasted like vinegar and I couldn't drink it.

LadyGoneGaga · 08/12/2010 14:09

I forgot and ate salami and palma ham. Last time (with my DS) I didn't drink ANY alcohol until after 12 weeks and thereafter a very occasional small glass of wine or beer. So will prob try and do same although unfortunatey that would rule out wine with Christmas dinner. Hmmm. I'm trying not to take risks if I can help it just because if I do and then miscarry again I will probably blame myself.

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 14:14

I've never paid that much attention to guidelines. I know someone will be along shortly who's had a terrible experience so I shouldn't be so flippant really.

I still drink (though hardly enough to be over the guidlines anyway), I eat dodgy cheeses and cured meats. I eat pate but not that much as that's not a food poisoning risk but a 'don't eat too much risk'.

I've always been a real believer in bringing risk down to acceptable levels. Acceptable levels are a very personal thing. Someone else might feel that my levels are unacceptable to them and that's fine - it's their decision as much as my levels are mine!

buttonmoon78 · 08/12/2010 14:14

Oh, and a good rare steak sets my mouth watering. And that's just thinking about it!

nicolamumof3 · 08/12/2010 15:14

afternoon all...i had my scan today...saw heartbeat. What a bloody releif i can say! Best £50 spent in a long while. Spot on for dates too!! Much more relaxed now.

Food....hmmmm a real bone of contention in this house, DH is a chef and this time of year Its a real struggle being pg all the nice cheeses the pate he makes, i try to be good. I try not to drink at all until much later in pg when i may have the v.odd glass wine at special occasions. Going to miss it at xmas.

LadyGoneGaga · 08/12/2010 15:30

Brilliant news, Nicola. You can relax now and enjoy your pregnancy! My early scan a week on Monday...still ageeesss away.

I keep craving rubbish food. I'm really craving Chinese today because I want water chestnuts really badly. Salty stuff is good. Sour stuff also and strong flavours. Was going to make like a thai noodle salad with loads of lime and chilli the other day and DP came back without limes. I honestly nearly cried!

nicolamumof3 · 08/12/2010 15:31

Thanks Lady GG, i was craving chinese noodles all the time around 5/6weeks anything salty really. Could have lived off them!
