Due July 2011?

1000 replies

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/12/2010 19:48

icklelilly can you get someone else do the washing? Split it between the future grandparents? I'm sure they'd understand! I know what you mean because I have taken against daz liquid detergent, I only bought it because it was on special offer but I am convinced it makes my clothes smell of dogs! It's not even making me feel sick but has caused some laundry based misery in my house!

UpsyDaisyDo · 05/12/2010 20:14

Hi everyone, I'm rather late joining - got my BFP last tuesday. My due date is 28th July (I know exactly when my conception date was!!) Have first appointment with my gp on saturday. This is my second baby. DS1 is 5. I'm so excited and can't wait to tell everyone but at the same time want to keep it a secret as long as possible!

Don't have many symptons yet - no sickness thankfully although I'll count myself v luck if that carrys on. Dreadful heartburn tho and my insomnia seems to have got worse. Other than that I'm just fine.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone xxxx

Icklelilly · 05/12/2010 20:51

Ivegotmrbitey - hadnt thought about 'sending it out', brilliant idea! Thanks.

Laundry based misery aside, I did have to chuckle at the 'dog smell', I love the odd things that early pregnancy throws at you, that's a good one! My mum was telling me about something she had seen on tv or read somewhere that a mum2be had kicked DH out of the bedroom because he apparently smelt v. strongly of garlic!

Hellooo UpsyDaisyDo, here's hoping the MS holds off as long as possible, or better yet, doesn't put in an appearance at all this time!

nicolamumof3 · 05/12/2010 21:33

welcome and congrats upsy daisy!

ickle i sympathise as smells can easy set off my ms atm. hope you do manage to get someone to do it..and maybe the ironing too, how fab would that be Grin

still toying with idea of getting private scan this week or next, but dh missed alot of work due to snow this week, so not sure if its an extravagance? Esp just before xmas but think i'll go nuts waiting til new year.

got mw booking in on thurs.

buttonmoon78 · 05/12/2010 22:58

Ickle try adding a couple of tablespoons of white vinegar to your wash in the place of softener. Make sure it's white though or you'll smell like a chippy!

Welcome upsy

LadyGoneGaga · 06/12/2010 07:13

Hi Upsy you're due same day as me! I'm having my second too but DS is 2.5. Welcome to the board.

Eglu · 06/12/2010 10:46

Morning all, I haven't found any smells that make me feel sick yet, but the super sensitive nose thing is driving me crazy.

DH had some pate and oatcakes last night. He was at the other side of the room from me and all I could smell was the pate, something I'm not particularly keen on. I remember going mad at him when pg with DS2 as he had a glass of red wine in the same room as me, and I couldn't stand the smell.

MissLolita · 06/12/2010 11:29

Buttonmoon, good luck for your scan xxx

Riddzy · 06/12/2010 12:06

Hi everyone, I've reached 10+1 and have my scan next week. Am incredibly nervous about it because I'm symptomless except for feeling really, really fat. Was forced to go to the local Bhs at the weekend and buy a simply enormous and very unsexy non-underwired bra. I got home and got it out and stared at it feeling really miserable. My boyfriend tried to cheer me up by wearing it on his head like a bonnet but I had a sense of humour fail.

Anyone else in the same boat re: symptoms?

buttonmoon78 · 06/12/2010 12:43

Well, I'm totally Confused

I went for my scan. I waited an hour with a bladder the size of a football!

When they measured the baby they said it was about 2mm which means only just about 5 weeks (or 3 weeks since conception ie about Nov 15/16). But I got my BFP on Nov 21st, and CB digi said 1-2 weeks the next morning.

I'm trying not to get too worked up about it - what will be will be and all that but it's horrible, not knowing what's going on!

I'm booked in for another scan in 2 weeks to 'check viability' but midwife said there shouldn't be any problems it's just a little smaller than I thought.

After all we're only talking about a matter of days aren't we...

inbetweener · 06/12/2010 13:00

Hi there,
Im having a scan this afternoon too as I was bleeding the week before last. Had a scan then and they could only see a sac and no heartbeat Sad so told me to come back in ten days. Its been a very LONG ten days but will find out this afternoon at 2pm I guess !
I should be 8+1 today according to my dates so we will see. I am feeling catiously optimistic as I feel very bloated and nauseus but we will see.

If everything is ok I would love to be added to the stats list please Smile

Badgerwife · 06/12/2010 13:44

Hi all,

Feeling very sorry for myself today. I couldn't go to work this morning as feeling so sick and cannot face the 1.5hr travelling. I've had to tell my boss despite only being 6+4 because I don't see this getting any better. I am not being sick but the nausea is at times so strong I have to lie in bed on my side and literally not move for an hour before I feel better. I don't know what to do with myself, and anticipating the worst possible response from the GP. The few times I feel more human, I drink water and have something to eat (and I go on the internet) but I can't do that for longer than 20 mins before I have to lie down again. What do you suggest I do?

buttonmoon78 · 06/12/2010 14:36

Looking forward to your scan results inbetweener. It sounds like you're two weeks further down the line from the conversation I had this morning!

Poor you badgerwife. Sorry, but I've no real suggestions. I've never really suffered before - lots more nausea than any of my previous pgs but nothing like yours.

LadyGoneGaga · 06/12/2010 19:58

Sorry your scan wasn't very conclusive Buttonmoon. Hope your dates are just out.

Hope everything is ok, Inbetweener?

Ivegotmrbitey · 06/12/2010 20:12

Sorry you're feeling so rotten badgerwife I haven't got any suggestions but am feeling for you! Any news inbetweener?

I am feeling fat and bloated and ugly today, not helped by extreme thirst for calorie laden fizzy drinks and ice cream.

scrivette · 06/12/2010 20:41

Hi everyone,
haven't been around for a while.
I am a bit fed up of feeling sick! Is everyone taking Folic Acid tablets? Whenever I take one i feel even more sick, but feel bad for not taking it if I miss a day!
Welcome to the new people who have joined since I was last here. : )

Icklelilly · 06/12/2010 21:36

Thanks for the vinegar tip buttonmoon. Re: the odd dates, if the mw has told you there is nothing to worry about then it must just be that your dates are out and the next scan will confirm it!

scrivette - I'm taking folic acid, just about managing that but have had to knock the omega 3 on the head! eeuuggghhh! so I sort of know how you feel.

How are things inbetweener?

buttonmoon78 · 06/12/2010 22:38

Thanks guys. I know that the midwife's right, there'll be nothing to worry about but it kind of comes with the territory doesn't it?! I know that in a fortnight there'll be a lovely little heartbeat going like the clappers.

Sorry to all those feeling ick.

itsTwiiiiitmaaaaasss · 07/12/2010 10:59

Good luck with your scans!

I find my sense of smell gets heightened, and I find showergel, deoderant, wahsing powder - anything really makes me feel awful. There are certain things ONLY that I can use.
I haven't used fabric softener for weeks now and had to hide dh's showergel so now he has to use mine.

I still haven't phoned the MW. I'll do it now shall I? I really don't want to... I'll mop the floor first.

inbetweener · 07/12/2010 12:40

Hello all,
Well I guess I can officially join you now please Grin
I had my scan yesterday and there was a definite heartbeat and little wriggling person. She changed my dates and put me back to 7+2 and also finally gave me a due date of 24th July !! So buttonmoon there is hope ! I was utterly convinced that my dates were correct as we had been ttc but I guess not. The radiographer said I must have ovulated later then I thought, which would explain why it took 5 days to show up on a HPT lol !
Anyway, so here I am.

What details do I need to give to be added on please ?

Oh and as for sickness tell me about it !! I have NEVER felt this nauseous ever. I have 2 DD's aged 6 and 8 and I breezed through both those pregnancies Blush and I suppose I foolishly thought this one would be the same. I dunno whether its my age, Im 36 or what but I am absolutely suffering this time ! i dont want to eat but have too as its the only way I feel better. Weirdly crisps and coke make me feel better for a short period but arent exactly good for you are they ! Plus I work fulltime so sitting at this desk all day trying not to vomit is proving a feat in itself !! Ah well, onwards and upwards !

Anyone else here on number 3 and thinking eeeeeeeeeek ??

Chocoflakes · 07/12/2010 13:32

Thats great news inbetweener!
I too am on #3 and 37 years old, with a gap of 13 years! I'm looking on this pregnancy as a 1st and just seeing what happens as my first two were a doddle!
I feel queezy when i'm hungry and then queezy once i've eaten! I am absolutely shattered and my boobs have gone from a D to E Shock
Finally phoned the MW yesterday and she was lovely, I'll hear within a week when my scan is (Jan sometime) as i think i'm 6+4.
There ae lots of smells i cant bear, mostly my DP breath after eating or drinking!
Is anyone else cutting back on caffiene? Keep getting a headache when I dont have my morning coffee, but cant stomach it at the moment.

Ivegotmrbitey · 07/12/2010 13:38

Glad to hear such lovely good news inbetweeneer Also relieved to hear that you have the same anti nausea cure as me! I don't usually go in for fizzy drinks (have always loved crips) but it is the only thing that settles the nausea. I am going to be a ten ton tessie with no teeth if I don't curb it.

You need to find the most recent lot of stats and copy and paste them into a post with yourself added.

I am quite quite mad today and have had to work at home. I heard the new Ellie Goulding (sp?) song on the radio first thing which started me crying and I've most cried since! Except when I was being sick. Tomorrow I have to give a three hour lecture to 50 students. Am not quite sure how puking and crying will go down with them!

inbetweener · 07/12/2010 14:21

Oh chocoflakes how funny we are practically the same lol.
Have you told anyone about your new arrival yet ? I feel really embarresed this time round and am a bit cross with myself for thinking that way.
I am terrified as to what work will say. Silly isnt it.

Well I have just consumed my lunch of pasta salad, a yoghurt, an apple and a bag of crisps !!!!!!!!! Thats a disgusting amount of food but I am soooooo hungry. Now feel sick and could do with a lie down but had better carry on working instead Wink

LadyGoneGaga · 07/12/2010 14:57

Really glad your scan went well, Inbetweener. I was fretting a bit as you were late reporting back! Fab news though.

Am glad lots of other people are feeling really sick too. Going to make Christmas dinner fun.

Chocoflakes · 07/12/2010 15:15

ladygonegaga thats funny! Yippee for feeling sick! I told the MW that it was good to be feeling ick!
I have told my parents inbetweener and my 3 supervisors at work, because of heavy lifting etc. My best friend and 1 other! I am so happy I cant help blurting it out,and as someone said if anything was to go wrong it wont be because I let the cat out of the bag.And I would have some great support if needed.
I too am feeling slightly ashamed and embarassed! Silly really, as this was planned. Especially living in a small town, and having to hold my head up high to get the pregnancy test from the chemist!

Is it bed time yet?
