Due July 2011?

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

I don't think that's stupid Debs! I have 2 labradors who were very sensitive and concerned when I was in labour, not their usual hyperactive/inquisitive/bolshie/sniffy selves!
Mind you, one of them managed to have 11 pups so probably thought I was a right wimp in comparison Xmas Grin

Badgerwife · 02/12/2010 21:33

Debs I think you're right about the flu jab, I had mine before I got pregnant and the nurse did say it was combined with swine flu this year.

sues1974 · 02/12/2010 22:13

hi, lizandlulu the clearblue digitals tell you how long its been since you ovulated not how many weeks pregnant you are, even then there not spot on, mine said 1-2 weeks when i was a full week overdue so more like 3 weeks since ovulation. if your cycle is around 28 days then yes definitely count from the first day of your period but if its nearer to 35 days then youd need to roughly knock about a week off as youd ovulate on day 21 ish instead of day 14ish as with a 28 day cycle, if this makes sence.

jigglebum · 03/12/2010 10:25

Hi - yes it was definitely the jab for swine flu but it is possible our practice isn't the most up to date on current ideas. I don't feel the need to have it. DS was offered it last year when it was at it height and I was happy to decline for him too.

Feeling pretty rubbish today. Taking heart from whoever said ms is worse between 6-8 weeks as I am either 8 +3 or 7 +3 (have a five week cycle so suspect the latter but willl have to wait until scan for confirmation) so hopefully will feel a bit less nauseous soon.

fallingandlaughing · 03/12/2010 11:23

At my obstetrics appt on Wednesday they told me to try fruity gums for morning sickness (wine gums/gummy bears/jelly babies etc). Mine is only mild but I have to say it does work! And also yummy. Just have to be careful not to take too many (diabetic).

highheelsandequations · 03/12/2010 11:29

I really want some chocolate cheesecake, but really don't want to walk to the shops to get some! Xmas Blush

itsTwiiiiitmaaaaasss · 03/12/2010 11:48

I really want some heinz vegetable soup but don't want to walk in this cold weather any more than needed. I have tried making my own, but with a limited amount of ingredients it will possibly get thrown away frozen for later.

Mitchell81 · 03/12/2010 11:50

Ooh chocolate cheesecake sounds delicious, think I will have to ask someone to pop past a shop to buy me some. Grin Still snowed in with car which has too much snow around it to even consider driving it and too much snow to push a buggy.

buttonmoon78 · 03/12/2010 13:42

We're all obviously having or wanting sneaky treats today - just had a snickers. Yum!

Got a scan booked for Monday morning - am soooo excited!

Scarthy · 03/12/2010 15:51

Congrats on your scan buttonmoon. I had my midwife home visit today and my scan isn't until 30th december, when i'll be 13 weeks! They did offer me xmas eve but unfortunately i'm away at the inlaws then. Can't believe i've got to wait another 4 weeks before I can finally see that everything is ok.

Debs3693 · 03/12/2010 17:31

Fraochsmum am so envious of you having labradors and so many puppies to play with! I grew up with labs and really miss having a dog around but I work long hours and it just wouldn't be fair.
If you ever need it, you have a dog sitter in Guildford if you need one!

Debs xx

lizandlulu · 03/12/2010 21:08

buttonmoon i bet you are so excited!!

scarthy a midwife is coming to see me too in the next few weeks, i thought this was very odd. she didnt come to me first time round, surely it is a waste of their time to go to everyones home when i am capable of getting to the docs? just struck me as odd.

when she visited you, did she have an appointment and tell you there and then? or do you have to wait for a letter from the hospital?

SpannerPants · 04/12/2010 07:30

I'm working 13hr shifts this weekend which is really taking it out of me, I spent most of yesterday trying not to be sick and stuffing gaviscon tablets in my mouth.

I ended up telling a couple of the nurses that I work with (mainly because I was feeling lightheaded and was worried I might faint) and one of them said "oooh you're telling people early" and pulled a really snarky face at me! I just want them to know not to panic if I faint or start being sick in the sink or something!

She really upset me - I seem to be extra sensitive at the moment :(

lizandlulu · 04/12/2010 07:44

spannerpants dont worry about it, she obviously has no sensitivity. i have told a couple of people outside my immetiate family and i dont think it has anything to do with 'bad luck' or anything like that. if somehing is going to happen then its going to happen weather i tell no one or everyone.

although i do a manual job in a scrap yard and have not told the lads i work with cause they will just go on about it non stop, they are worse than women! i will get 'oh dont you lift that in your condtition' where as i want to carry on as fairly normal for the time being. i dont lift anything TOO heavy, i cant tell whats right for me.

even my mum said yesterday though, 'dont you go lifting lugging or struggling with anything' to which i replied that i know what i can and cant do and she said 'dont come crying to me if you have a miscarriage'Shock

shes got about as much sensitivity as your work collegue!

Scarthy · 04/12/2010 09:08

lizandlulu My midwife visited 1st time as well. I had 2 of them come round yesterday as one was a student midwife. They were very nice and went through the green notes. They phoned the hospital whilst here and booked my scan. Can't believe I couldn't make 24th and have got to wait 4 weeks. Do you live in the midlands?

lizandlulu · 04/12/2010 09:15

yes, nottinghamshire. i had a student midwife helping me then i had dd 5 years ago and she was lovely, really helped me and knew when to leave me alone and when not toSmile

Eglu · 04/12/2010 17:25

Evening all. Hope everyone is soldiering on, and your snow is starting to melt a bit. We have tarmac on our street for the first time in a week, which is cheering.

I also got my new car today, so am very happy, as I have not left the village since Tuesday. My other car was seriously awful in the snow.

isitreallythattime · 04/12/2010 19:36

Hi eglu its nice getting a new car. Lucky you!!

Just wondering how big second time rounders are. I am feeling like a have a slight ponch and only 7 weeks, worried as not planning on telling anyone till twelve weeks but no way ill get a way with that as another week and itll be obvious??!! x x

Eglu · 04/12/2010 19:48

I'm a third timer and feel like I'm starting to get a bit of a bump. I have only 3 pairs of jeans that fit me.

My SIL has all of my maternity clothes and I'm picking them up when I go down to england for her and DBs wedding in a couple of weeks.

I think Christmasdinner will end me and I'll be huge after that. Grin

emilyplus1 · 04/12/2010 21:23

i feel massive i think i look they way i did when i was about 4/5 mths last time!! lol! clothes r all way to small already think i will need to look out my mat stuff! lol!

went to the mw the other day and got booked in she said that i should get my scan inbetween xmas n new year cant wait.

Told my boss last nite she seemd pleased even tho i couldnt do the overtime she was offerin and had to make her change the off-duty for this month.

nicolamumof3 · 04/12/2010 21:41

Hi everyone sorry not been around much I gave it a break of a few days as was worrying terribly and not been feeling great. Was all set to book private scan to reassure...then the snow came! So am 8 weeks today I also feel huge and have had to admit defeat of the skinnies! Stretch is my friend!

sues1974 · 04/12/2010 21:59

evening ladies,
glad im not the only one thats bloated and struggling to fit into normal clothes. im 8 weeks now and unlike last time in not starving all the time but am allowing myself the odd treat like supper, wanting to eat cheese on crackers all the time as well as chocolate.
christmas will finish me off too, especially as we have 2 large tins of chocolates!
thankfully its quite cold at work so i wear a company fleece and as theyre man size so mines a little big on me.
cant believe i have another 5 weeks and 2 days till my scan cos of new year bank holiday. i know ive had a viability scan and everything fine and in the right place but will still worry until i see that little heart beat again.
got the old non wired support bras out today and felt loads better to wear one of them.
suz xx

nicolamumof3 · 04/12/2010 22:13

i still think i will have scan to reassure before xmas. can't wait another month for scan!

buttonmoon78 · 05/12/2010 13:20

Am feeling huge today! Even lying down in bed I feel like my tummy's sticking out. Perhaps we're going to breed a crop of bumper big July babies!

Icklelilly · 05/12/2010 18:58

I feel huge too and lower abdomen seems to feel different than before. This is my first pregnancy, so is that a sign that things are starting to spread out down there or am I just getting properly porky and none of the spread is yet baby?

Hoping to start picking up some mat clothes in the January sales but need to have scan first just to be sure...

Slightly different subject - smells - I can't stand fabric conditioner any more, the mere thought can bring on dry heaves and I can't be in the same room as drying washing. Even the ecover fabric conditioner is scented! Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know it seems silly but this has been making me really miserable and sick as I live in a small house and its pretty hard to escape the smell. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
