Due July 2011?

1000 replies

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Hi Ladies, can't keep up with this thread, is moving so fast!

Hello to newbies and very sorry to hear your news gleeb

I am off work today with the flu, feel so dreadful. I have no voice and my throat is sooooo sore. Feeling very sorry for myself. I have just been taking paracetamol, but a nervous even taking that after reading articles on it recently.

Am on the sofa feeling very very sorry for myself!

highheelsandequations · 02/12/2010 10:46

After phoning the Doctor again this morning and getting DP to speak to them (he's more forceful than me) we have managed to get an appointment at the EPU for 1.30 today, just hoping we can make it through the snow. Keep everything crossed for me ladies.

LadyGoneGaga · 02/12/2010 10:56

Hood luck Highheels. Thinking of you. Is it any better today? If just spotting probably fine. x

highheelsandequations · 02/12/2010 11:08

Thanks ladygg Still just spotting, stil not red and only noticed when I've wiped after going to loo (sorry for TMI!) but after a mmc last pregnancy (7 years ago) and 18 months of trying absolutely everything to get here I am terrified.

SpannerPants · 02/12/2010 11:31

Good luck highheels, will be thinking about you! x

GruffaloMama · 02/12/2010 11:49

Highheels good luck!

Had my blood test yesterday to find out if I'm immune to slapped cheek disease as DS has probably caught it from his childminder's daughter - will find out tomorrow hopefully. GP was lovely. If I'm not there is an increased risk of mc. But have decided to be positive about it until I know different.

itsTwiiiiitmaaaaasss · 02/12/2010 11:52

good luck!

How is every one today? I have just been reading a thread where women were told they weren't in labour when they really were, so I have decided to scream and wail like I'm in a soap this time. Xmas Wink

MissLolita · 02/12/2010 13:14

Hi ladies, gosh alot has happened here recently! Welcome to the newbies!

Well I had my booking in appointment yesterday with the m/w and I'm afraid it was a big anti-climax. I had really been hoping to get a scan date but all she could say was that I would get a letter about a week before the scan and it will probably be the week before Christmas and there was nothing she could do to give me any more reassurance. I was pretty much in and out in 5mins and told to go back after the scan on 4th Jan. Feel rather disappointed Sad

I'm going to go ahead and book a private scan as I desperately feel the need for some reassurance everything is ok.

I'm holed up at home due to the snow. On Tuesday it took me 4.5 hours to get home from London - most of it stood in the freezing cold with no access to a loo!! By the time I got home I was almost in tears from holding it in - sorry if TMI!!! Anywya, it has made me rather fearful of something similar happening again.

LadyGoneGaga · 02/12/2010 13:16

6 weeks today and feel like have been overwhelmed with exhausted feelings. Could put head down and snooze at desk for a while. Zzzzz.

I was quite calm when in early labour and don't think midwife really wanted to come round. But then she examined me and discoved I was actually 6 cm! Still took a loooong time and an assisted delivery from that point then. But after her slightly rough examination there was no doubt I was in labour as made my contractions all came on top of each other after that!

jigglebum · 02/12/2010 13:25

Good luck highheels. Hope it is all fine.

Snow here at last - not much but looks pretty. DH is coming home from work this afternoon to take DS sledging. DS is not that keen on the snow unfortunately so we will see how it goes.

I was meant to have my first midwife appt today. We walked there but the midwife was not there due to snow (we only have a couple of inches!) so will have to wait for next week.

I was asked if I wanted the swine flu jab whilst I was there though. I said no. Thought I felt rubbish enough already. Anyone else having it?

Eglu · 02/12/2010 13:47

jigglebum I have been offered a winter flu jab, but not swine flu. Don't think I'm going to have the flu jab as I have never had flu in my life and really don't want to feel rubbish after that.

sues1974 · 02/12/2010 14:03

Hi ladies, i have the flu jab every year and when i was pregnant with my DS i was told id have to wait until after if had him in the january to have the jab as advised against having it whilst pregnant, things might of changed in the past 2 years but worth reading up on before making any decisions.

How did it go highheels?
xx

ZuluWarrior · 02/12/2010 14:13

Jigglebum, was it definitely swine flu? I didn't think they were offering it any more. Swine flu can be much more severe in pregnant women but as far as I understand it's pretty much gone. Might be worth checking the literature though but I personally wouldn't bother unless there was a confirmed outbreak again.

highheelsandequations · 02/12/2010 14:17

Thanks for all your good wishes. Delighted to report that scan showed our little pip is doing fine, she's now grown to 17mm and heart is beating away Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Midwife said it looked like my uterine lining had separated slightly and that was probably what was causing the spotting, but it was common and nothing to worry about and very rare that it would cause any problems. Measurements put me around 8+2 and I thought I was 8+3 so sounds good. Managed to make it there and back through the snow as well [hgrin] Maybe one day soon I'll be able to relax and start enjoying this long awaited pregnancy!

ZuluWarrior · 02/12/2010 14:50

Hooray highheels!! Such a relief for you. It's impossible to relax though, isn't it? Protective mechanism I think Xmas Smile.

fallingandlaughing · 02/12/2010 15:09

Great news higheels!

I asked my obstetrician about the flu jag yesterday and was told to wait til the 2nd trimester. There is still swine flu around but anyone vaccinated last winter will retain immunity.

Fraochsmum · 02/12/2010 16:14

Fantastic news highheels! My bleeding has stopped now and it really is a weight off my mind.
I think we must be the only corner of Britain without snow Xmas Biscuit - DH is desperate to get out and play too!
I got the swine flu jab last year when I was 7/8 months pg and it was at its height - it didn't leave me feeling ill but gave me a sore arm for a couple of days.
I was the same as you LadyGoneGaga, I stayed as long as poss at home, had a couple of baths, couple of paracetamol - went to mat unit and was fully dilated!
Might not wait that long this time...
It might not wait to be pushed!

buttonmoon78 · 02/12/2010 16:19

Excellent news highheels - always nice to hear a happy story.

And good news that your bleeding has stopped fraochsmum.

Am getting all Christmassy now what with advent calendars and all!

sues1974 · 02/12/2010 16:45

brilliant news highheels and fraochsmum
xx

Badgerwife · 02/12/2010 18:31

Lizandlulu, you got your due date, woohoo!

I've got my doctor's appointment tomorrow; not quite sure how I'll get there, as we have 25-30cms of snow and live at the top of a hill. But I will make it, even if I have to look like a numpty holding on to DH by the waist on the way down.

I'm feeling terrible with ms (just nausea but the nasty kind), so it's just as well we've been snowed in for the last 2 days. If it continues like this, I will have to tell my boss sooner rather than later, especially if the snow continues. It took me over 4 hours to get home from work on Tuesday night and I just can't do it, plus I am petrified at the thought of being stuck with bad ms.

Debs3693 · 02/12/2010 20:46

Hiya ladies I think this year the flu jab is combined with swine flu jab.?? Debs xx

Debs3693 · 02/12/2010 20:51

Ps here's a stupid question for you all, do you think animals can tell when your pg? I am only 9 weeks but my cat just won't leave me alone!
As I am typing this on my iPad, he is lying right next to me, purring loudly with his paw on my (bloated) belly! What do you think? Debs xx

sues1974 · 02/12/2010 21:10

Hey Debs3693, ive got a dog who when i had a big bump used to lay his head on it but then i think hed of done that anyway, but i do remember when i was on confetti mums to be a few people said that about their cats, i think they are very intuitive so you never know!
xx

lizandlulu · 02/12/2010 21:22
