Due July 2011?

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Ooh Brilliant ladyG! Six weeks was a bit of a landmark in my head so am pleased to be there! Hang on I am day before you aren't I so must be 5+6. Oh well, will celebrate tomorrow. Do you have anything to do with the John lewis ads? I I sometimes youtube them just to have justification for a goodly sob!

LadyGoneGaga · 01/12/2010 13:03

Yes, so I am 5+6 and you are 6 weeks as you're due before me!

ZuluWarrior · 01/12/2010 13:12

Hulla and Gleeb so sorry to see you're leaving us. It's awful.

Ivegotmrbitey · 01/12/2010 13:19

Brill! Another six to go then. I am thinking more and more about trying to get an early scan. I really want to know if there is a baby in there or if I am just being unbelievably greedy and lazy.

LadyGoneGaga · 01/12/2010 13:45

I've got a private one booked at 8 weeks - 20th Dec.

Ivegotmrbitey · 01/12/2010 13:47

Sorry Zulu cross post due to refreshing failure.

I'm going to google private scans, I suspect the choice in this area will be limited!

fallingandlaughing · 01/12/2010 14:17

Had my first scan today. I was prepared for a bit of a wait while the sonographer tried to locate the wee one but the baby appeared very quickly, looking somewhat prawn-like. It was amazing to see the heart beating, tbh up til then I was kind of thinking it was all in my head, especially as I have been quite light on symptoms!

reallygrumpy · 01/12/2010 14:33

Hello, I had a bfp over the weekend and I think I'm due late July. I'm seeing the doctor on Friday and hoping he'll refer me for an early scan but if not I'm going to book a private scan. I'm feeling very nervous as I had a miscarriage in the summer and it's taken 2 years and various drugs to get to this point so I'll probably just lurk till I make it past 12 weeks (fingers x'd) but wanted to say hello.

Oh and I've got a 3yr old DD who really really wants to have a brother or sister.

sues1974 · 01/12/2010 15:24

brillaint news fallingandlaughing, did they say how many weeks you measured? and how did you get on with the managed pregnancy bit? is it a case of extra scans?

welcome Reallygrumpy. fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time.

just had to come home to work as nearly got stuck, all the public transport in my area has been cancelled.
definitely staying at home tomorrow.
suz xx

fallingandlaughing · 01/12/2010 16:23

they couldn't be sure but the baby was just over 5mm. Based on my lmp I am 6+4 but I think I am 6+6 - too close to call. Anyway they said it is spot on for dates.

I don't have to go back until the start of January. After that it will be fortnightly til 30 weeks, then weekly, then induced/delivered at 38 weeks. I will have regular scans and, after 28 weeks, foetal heart monitoring. Apart from that I have to mail my diabetes nurse weekly with all my blood sugars and also have to have my calcium and vitamin d monitored (related to my epilepsy meds). Seems like a good team, they are very friendly and thorough.

Had my feet up this afternoon - we are pretty much snowed in. Everything has ground to a halt.

StormBird · 01/12/2010 18:18

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to extend my condolences to Gleeb & Hulla - hope you guys are ok

I have been trying to catch up with the thread but so much seems to happen on a daily basis and I can't seem to catch up Confused

Well, I had my first Scan today and saw & heard the heartbeat so all is well there. My little bean measured around 7+3 which is a bit less than expected cos my dates put me at 7+6 - bit the Midwife reassured me that its not unusual, so am holdng on to that bit of hope. I do hope she's right cos I worry bout everything!! Anyone else had this before?

MW asked to see me again at 10wks to do another scan and re-measure and then again at 12wks. She said that they will only be able to tell if the baby is perfectly formed at 12wks. Thats fair enough and I know its all positive at te mo but I still have that aching bit of doubt about having another baby with Annencephaly. It terrifies me.

I was an absolute wreck in the waiting room and although DP was trying to be all ok about everything you could see the fear in his eye, MW even commented about how scared we both looked. I grabbed DP's hand at one point and it was wringing wet. Bless him.

Hope you are all ok. xxxx

isitreallythattime · 01/12/2010 18:25

Has anyone mastered the morning sickness yet? It is really starting to get me down. Ieven felt sick in the night! Am not actually being sick but just have that constant churning and horrid taste, almost like a hang over taste where taste buds have gone awol! Trying to snack little and ofter but not helping, work are going to suss with me shoveling stuff in every min.. Grrrrr!

StormBird · 01/12/2010 18:32

Hi isitreally

I'm finding that sipping water or (decaf) Tea seems to help keep my MS under some kind of control. I can't stand that sicky feeling.

I hope you can find out what will help keep yours at bay soon, its horribl isn't it.

xx

isitreallythattime · 01/12/2010 18:47

Maybe constant drinking is the answer, will try that tomorrow at work. Thanks for the tip!

Scottygirl10 · 01/12/2010 19:08

Evening ladies. One insanely nauseous first time mum to be here! Isitreally...I am 9 weeks today and have been suffering with ms since 5.5 weeks! The only thing that seems to have helped me is cool fresh fruit, particularly plums and melon, and anti-sickness bands, or 'accupressure bands' as they're officially called. My already mummy friends assure me the sickness leaves beginning around week12...cannot come quick enough! :(

Mitchell81 · 01/12/2010 19:41

Nothing is helping me 9 weeks tomorrow been sick now for 4 weeks. I know from experience I only stop feeling sick at 16 weeks, so another 7 weeks of this. SadI only tend to be sick in the afternoon and always after dinner. It is horrible isn't it and everyone suffering has my symphathy.

emmywoo · 01/12/2010 20:33

Hi ladies, I have been told that ginger nut biscuits are very good for ms. xx

itsTwiiiiitmaaaaasss · 01/12/2010 20:54

HI all.

I'm really sorry to read your news hulla and gleeb*.

I find that eating regularly (sweet) carbohydrtes is really the only way to help ease the ick, and mints for the taste (or mouthwash). But every one is diffent, and to be honest feeling icky is brilliant having thrown up throughout 2 of my pregnancies.
Rest and fressh air help me too.
I'm worried I'm not drinking enough, I can't face anything to drink really, except just after I've used the mouthwash and then it's water. That and the cold and the ick feeling have left me looking and feeling ancient.
Aah well.
None of my jeans fit me now. Xmas Blush And I slipped over yesterday, I'm fine but a bit sore of shoulder today.
I think lighter sleeping is normal at this point, 'cos I can't seem to sleep very well.
I have also decided I will phone the MW when I am about 8 weeks. (Thurs?)
I'm sorry if this has been a bit me, me, me, but you're the only people who know (except DH obv.
I hope everyone has a good night.

lizandlulu · 01/12/2010 21:13

hiya, am i too late to join? i had my bfp on friday and been to the docs today to have it confirmed. (all he did was ask questions, didnt do a test or anything) i am supposed to be due 20 th july.

ohh i'll do my statsGrin

EDD 20/07/2011, age 30, dd 5

is that it?

a week beofre i got my bfp i got a bfn, so i am confused as to weather i am 7 weeks, or 1 week! the doctor said to take it from the first day of my last period, which makes me 7 weeks, until i get a scan, but htat will be another 5 weeksSad driving me mad not knowing!

itstwiiiistmaaasss i feel really fat too, being a size 18-20 its not a unknown feelingGrin but i cant eat a big meal as i feel bloated and stuffed for ages after.

Ivegotmrbitey · 01/12/2010 21:41

Hullo christmasTwit, hope you're Ok after your fall. I am terrified of going for a slide in the ice - I did it last winter and was deeply embarrassing!

welcome lizandlulu and congratulations! I am feeling very bloated and ick too, but I am just sooooo hungry for toast! I usually try and keep my carb intake down but I am just hoovering bread at the moment! I refuse to believe that a teeny weeny little bean can possibly want three slices of toast for breakfast but something is making me greedy!

No MS yet but have felt momentarily queasy when I first wake. I suspect I may eat my words (make a change from toast) when it kicks in but at the moment the queasiness makes me happy because it is a SYMPTOM and therefore I must be PREGNANT!

ItIsILeclerc · 01/12/2010 21:42

Evening ladies Xmas Grin

Welcome Lizandlulu. Your doc is right, you count from your last period, so you're seven weeks (though I thought I was seven weeks but my EDD is 24/7 - I think I'm probably not seven weeks yet but I'm slightly in denial about it). The BFN was probably just too early to show as a +ive.

I registered with my new GP today. There's a midwife attached to the practice so I just have my booking in appointment with her without having to (pointlessly) see a GP, so that's good. Unfortunately the next appointment she has is 29th December, which is a long old wait. Will definitely have to sort out an early scan so we can tell family before Christmas.

The MW was lovely Xmas Grin One of the first things she asked was whether I was hoping for a home or hospital birth and when I said home, she said "Ooh, lovely!" so hopefully it will happen this time round!

My MS has subsided quite a lot, generally just constant low-level sickiness now rather than the rollercoaster is-this-the-time-I-have-to-run-to-the-loo? fun. Definitely worse first thing in the morning (last time it kicked in around 4 pm and got worse all afternoon - though thinking about it, I didn't really get up in the morning last time Xmas Blush) when I am soooo hungry but feel too ill to eat but know I have to force something down to make myself feel better, then feel ravenously hungry for the rest of the morning. Nipples still agony though, nearly screamed when DD latched on this morning (makes me feel better about MS settling down though).

LadyGG I work for a wedding videography company with my little brother and his best friend - so very emotional but obviously I can't sob. Also just tried to kill a little light-hearted time on Regretsy and ended up bawling over this. Think I can probably check the "over-emotional" box!

lizandlulu · 01/12/2010 21:51

thanks you twoGrin i am very tempted to buy one of those clear blue with conception indicator just to see how many weeks it says!

i have just bee googling private scans too, and at £75 i am thinking of booing one, just to put my mind at rest. i will talk to dh about it when he gets in (he is out looking at a on road quad bikeHmmsnow brings out the kid in him more than usual!)

Debs3693 · 01/12/2010 22:00

Hiya all welcome lizandlulu I ha e only just joined this thread too, haven't done my stats yet so here they are:

EDD 04/07/2010 aged 35, 1st pg

Not sure how I add these to the list?

Was interested to hear about ms stories. Have discovered that keeping some mini babybel lights in the fridge helps so as soon as I get I. From work i head to these fridge and nibbling on one of those helps. Did have to drive home from work in the snow with the windows open last night which was bloody cold but wasn't sure if I was going to make it home without using my emergency carrier sick bag!

Am happy tonight despite feeling crappy as dh flies back from the US overnight and so far his flight isn't cancelled!! Xx

sues1974 · 01/12/2010 22:15

Evening Ladies,
congratulations on your scan stormbird, that makes you the same as me, i was 7+2 yesterday but wont change my stats until ive had the dating scan. Dont worry that your 3 days behind, im 2 days behind this time, should of been 7+4 yesterday when i had my scan and was put 3 days behind last time. just means youd of ovulated a couple of days later than you thought. Im happy to still say im a couple of days ahead as i like to say that im 8 weeks this friday and not sunday, especially as Fridays are so good and i get paid on a friday :)
When i had an early scan with my first pregnancy the nurse told me that it decreased the chance of having a miscarriage, it wasnt guarenteed it wouldnt happen still but instead of 3 in 10 it went to something like 1 in 20, i guess thats cos by 7 weeks chemical pregnancys can be ruled out.
feel sorry for you ladies struggling with ms, last time when i had a bit of nausea i ate weight watchers ginger and lemon biscuits, i dont like normal ginger biscuits but these are lovely with chewy bits in.
suz xx

Pesha · 01/12/2010 22:24

Hello, just popping in to say hi. Am overwhelmed by how busy this thread has got, no chance of me keeping up at the mo I'm afraid!
Morning sickness got to the point last week where I couldn't keep a thing down and ended up in hospital on a drip. On cyclizine and metoclopromide (sp?) now which have helped reduce the vomiting (not the nausea unfortunately but vomiting is the main thing) so building strength up slowly, back to a full days work tomorrow after a week and a half off which I'm not looking forward to tbh!

Will try and keep up but think I may be more of a 2nd and 3rd trimester poster than a 1st!!
