Due July 2011?

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Hello Smile. I too have been lurking but now brave enough to join in. Because I'm a Bad Mother I didn't write down my last period date so I'm not 100% of my due date but it'll be July. How exciting! (and nerve-wracking - last one was a mc in the summer).

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest joinees!

I am still reading but not postin much. MS kicked in this week so feel crap and tired.

I also look pregnant but it's definitely just all the food I'm eating.

Thinking of starting a pregnant and nursing thread over in breast & bottle feeding if anyone is interested

LadyGoneGaga · 23/11/2010 19:42

Oooh yes, Hulla Count me in! Grin

I'm finding it hard at the moment though as my nipples are sooo sore and can't stop him from twiddling which is just the worst.

fallingandlaughing · 23/11/2010 19:47

spannerpants good luck for tomorrow.

Sympathies to everyone who is feeling so sick at the moment. nicola is it worth speaking to your GP? Your morning sickness sounds really bad.

In some ways I was hoping for some morning sickness. Just had the odd wave of nausea so far. I am diabetic so having to work hard to balance my blood sugar - maybe this is helping stave off the morning sickness.

I am stuffing my face all the time and can't do up lots of my trousers and jeans already

Seeing my diabetes nurse tomorrow to go over the plan for pregnancy. Not really sure what expect other than that she will be great as ever! Still waiting for my obstetrician appointment for diabetes and epilepsy in a week or two.

congrats to mrlolita

isitreallythattime · 23/11/2010 19:51

nnanaiw try fizzy water on its own or with juice, I had it last time with ds and this time around is really helping. It has to be fizzy and not in between fizzy and flat as that is uuuurrrrrrk. I know what you mean about water making you feel worse though.

Is anyone else wondering how they will last another 7 months at work? Was struggling to focus in meetings today, felt my mind was drifting or thinking, do not vomit as it'll be a give away. Also, struggled getting up this morning as dry retching before even got near bedroom door. Not nice! x x

emmywoo · 23/11/2010 20:24

Hi all,
Had the worst 2 days ever, picked up a stomach bug so been in bed last 2 days, been so so sick and such a bad upset tummy. was really worried so rang doctor who prescribed some sickness tablets. feel loads better today but just worried that something may ahve happened to baby.
Am rather jeleous of some of you in regards to already having symptoms of being pregnant, as I have nothing really apart from lower back ache. xxxxx

BeatrixRotter · 23/11/2010 21:25

Glad you're feeling better emmywoo. I keep having to remind myself that I wanted to be in this position as have been feeling quite sorry for myself. I just feel so ill. I haven't put on any weight yet but the last couple of days I have been carb mad so I am sure it will be piling on.

Anyone got any tips for getting back to sleep? I keep waking in the early hours and lying awake for 2 hours.

GruffaloMama · 24/11/2010 08:05

Hi BeatrixRotter - I'm doing exactly the same thing! Wake up at 3and can't get back to sleep. I tried Ovaltine last night. It kind of helped. Am going to try having some before bed tonight though.

Ivegotmrbitey · 24/11/2010 08:58

Sorry you've been feeling so rotten emmywoo I keep telling myself that they must be tenacious little beans -just think of the things people get up to before they realise they are pregnant!

Has anyone else got quite a sore abodomen? It's higher than where I think my uterus is but is very achey. GP yesterday said it is completely normal but that doesn't help in the wee small hours. I am also awake for quite a lot of the night but think it's just worry with me.

Hulla · 24/11/2010 09:18

I think insomnia in the early weeks is common. Maybe a combination of hormonal changes, needing to pee at night (which I don't by the way - anyone else not getting up to pee?) and getting used to the idea of being a mum of 1/again/2/6 etc or worrying about every twinge. It's rubbish but it passes and then comes back in the final trimester.

I am swinging from feeling totally unpregnant and worrying about it to feeling crap and nauseous and wishing it would stop. Last time I was ill before I tested, had sore boobs and was peeing all night.

pregnant & breastfeeding thread is here.

Someone asked how I'd got my NHS scan date so quickly. Well, I'm not certain but I booked in with my midwife over the phone. You can self-refer here so I did even though I'd seen my GP. She was very nice and asked if I wanted a homebirth. I said "yes please". She asked if I had any complications in my last pregnancy so I told her about the third degree tear I had which went partially unprepared leaving me with continence issues now. I could hear my homebirth being scrubbed out.

She said no midwife is going to want to go near me. So I had a mini debate about it. Told here my colorectal surgeon is supportive as in his words "all the damage that can be done to you has already been done". lovely.

She softened a bit then and said I sounded like I knew what I was talking about and that I was very brave after everything I'd gone through. She has agreed to support me if homebirth is what I want but I'll have to have consultant-led care. She put me under a female obstetrician who is pro-vaginal birth. I still expect they'll want to compromise and make me give birth vaginally but in hospital but I'll continue to argue it if I need to. I could always find an independent midwife (although where I'd find the money is another matter!).

So here I am, stressing that I don't feel pregnant enough whilst arguing for a homebirth next summer. Smile

Hulla · 24/11/2010 09:20

My tear was partially unrepaired not prepared! Bloody predictive text!

nicolamumof3 · 24/11/2010 10:21

Going to docs today can barely eat or drink or move!

SpannerPants · 24/11/2010 10:44

I'm feeling brave enough to add myself to the stats now - I've just had my second viability scan which was dated at 7+2 with a little heart beating like crazy Grin

Morning everyone!

hulla I am needing to pee much less than normal in the night too! Even when I get up I'm not bursting to go, I am needing to drink alot during the day, but I'm fed up with water and mint tea, especially in the evenings when DP has a beer, I want something special too!

Very sore boobs and nipples have kicked in over the last 2 days, extremely tired too! Going to have a look for a maternity bra tomorrow.
Good luck at doctorsnicolamumof3
Not sure when to go to doc's myself, still worried my ickle bean wont stick.

MissLolita · 24/11/2010 12:44

Riddzy, sunshiney78, RunDMC, ZuluWarrior and pregnancyno4 welcome!

Emmywoo glad you're feeling better. Spannerpants congratulations!

I seem to have had a sudden surge of symptoms - fatigue has set in and I now feel absolutely shattered, everything suddenly tastes disgusting and if I don't eat regularly I feel sicky and a bit faint and I feel VERY emotional. I have my first mw apt next Wednesday and it can't come soon enough. I am desperate for the reassurance that I am in the 'system' and therefore a setp closer to getting a scan date. If not I've decided to hang the cost and pay for a private scan. Does anyone know anywhere reasonable/cheap in Kent or Central London?

fiatlux · 24/11/2010 12:54

Hey all, and congratulations! Just wanted to add myself to the stats, and have added Pregnancyno4 as well (hope it works). Like Emmywoo, I've just had a bout of a horrible tummy bug, but feeling better now and hoping all's well...

Hello all
Just popping in to say hello. Feeling so grim today, haven't actually been sick but the constant nausea is a battle.

MissLolita I have been looked for a cheaper private scan, so far I found this clinic that is £75 quid but not central, is Canary Wharf - am just trying to pluck up the courage to book a scan.

Had good news re: maternity leave. Spoke to my line manager who was wonderful and has sorted out my leave for me, so looks like I will get paid! Am very happy about that.

It is madness here today, I work in Westminster and the students have kicked off in parliament square - it is all sirens and helicopters - god knows what it is going to be like trying to get home, all the roads are gridlocked!

Welcome to all new peeps, hope we all start to feel a bit better soon!

notnearly good news about the mat leave.

oh i do feel rough. went to see docs she was fabby really really understanding. i did look greyer than grey tho as i shuffled in with my towel on my lap lol!

doc said what everyone else that increased nausea might mean a girl. i'll believe that when i see it as i have three boys!

felt slightly better for getting out of bed and actually did some ironing as boys needed school uniform. feel bit dizzy now. Just keep thinking all this unwellness at least means my hormones must be high.
