Due July 2011?

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Such sad news mamafoof, your in my thoughts.

Thanks Brightside and Misslolita, get it now and stats added below. So pleased to read the above posts, I'm 7 weeks in and have first doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. Have POAS once two weeks ago - it was pos, so took it at face value - lack of symptoms, except an odd couple of days of nausea, have had me worrying a bit though.

We'll see how things go...

Hello All.....

Welcome to the newcomers and congrats.

Had some bad news this AM. My friend MC'd this morning - she was due at the same time as me. Its made me feel really numb and also worry unbelievably about my PG.

Went to docs this morning too, Blood Pressure is apparently slightly high which doc was not too happy with, although I always tend to work myself up going to the docs and then when I got there the doc I was supposed to see (my regular lady doc) had phoned in sick (ha) which unerved me a little so maybe all that contributed. Anyway told my brother (who is a Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructer and takes people's BP's all the time) and he seems to think it sounds fine and they are just being over cautious. So have been referred to Epsom & St Helier and am now waiting for the letter.

The problem is I forgot to ask about having an early scan!!!! Silly me. Do you think if I ring the midwives they will be able to advise? Am willing to pay anyway if I can't get one, just need the piece of mind IYKWIM.

Like some of the other ladies I have been waking and struggling to get back to sleep. I generally wake up for a wee though and then lie there awake for an hour or so - it drives me made.

Due date has changed slightly to so will repost stats:

Hi all.

I am about 5 weeks pregnant due around 26th July. I am very nervous as had a mc in August so wasnt epecting to fall pg again so soon but really pleased but also very nervous at every twinge. I am going to see if I can get in for a early scan just for peace of mind. I have a dd who is just 4 and that pregnancy was fine apart from suffering from SPD later on in pg.

I woke this morning and have felt sick all day (who ever said it was "morning" sickness needs to come and see me!!) Boobs are sore on and off and I am quite teary. I had some lower back ache and groin pain at start of week but feel fine now. Need the loo literally every 10 mins and actually woke in the night for a wee and normally once I am asleep there is no waking me and of course couldnt get back to sleep again for ages.

Anyway, looking forward to spending the next 8 months with you all. xxxxx

cake4breakfast · 18/11/2010 20:54

Hi Ladies, I'm looking for a bit of advice.

I'm 5weeks tomorrow, with my first (due 20th July?). Did two tests after missed period which were positive. I already had an incling, peeing all the time!

I decided to go contact my local Maternity Unit instead of GP as I hate my GP surgery - they never seem to know what they're doing or care about your complaint, always different Drs.

The MW at MU took some details and told me to wait for a call with an appt time. 4 days later, anxious at hearing nothing, I called MW back who said that I must wait as they won't give me appt for booking in until 11-13 weeks. I burst into tears!

My dp and I have decided to wait for 12 wks to tell others as we thought that's the right thing to do but I'm extremely anxious that no-one seems want to check things at this stage.

I found MN and it has been really useful but I keep reading that other mums are having scans at 4, 5, 6 and 7 weeks. An NHS website I looked at said I should have my first ante-natal appt 8-10 wks.

I'm getting quite upset and worried about it and of course I'm worried I might mc.

julybutterfly · 18/11/2010 20:56

(Nervously) joining you.

Had a feint BFP yesterday so did a CB digital test today and it was most definitely 'pregnant'

Am feeling a bit anxious at the moment after a medically managed miscarriage at 22 weeks last year due to abnormalities. Fingers crossed everything will be ok this time

nicolamumof3 · 18/11/2010 21:10

cake4break...it is not usual to have an early scan this will only be offered if you are in alot of pain or bleeding or had past problems.

very normal to be totally ignored til 10plus weeks!! Annoyingly. Amazed i got my booking in today for 9th dec when i will be 'only' 8.5w.

good luck to all xx

uniqueblondiee · 18/11/2010 21:19

Due july 15th here :D how's everyone doing?? And congrats to you all girlies! :D

BeatrixRotter · 18/11/2010 21:26

Hi cake your experience sounds very like mine with my first child, think I was first seen at 11 weeks. I think I would be right in saying most people who are having early scans are either paying to have them privately or they have been referred to an early pregnancy unit for some reason (they might have a history of miscarriage or be having a lot of cramping or some bleeding).

It is a worrying time, but my understanding is that as each week goes by your chance of miscarriage lessens, rather than the risk being the same up to the 12 week mark.

I don't know whether you are in the position to pay for a scan but it might put your mind at rest.

LadyGoneGaga · 18/11/2010 21:30

Hi Emmywoo. I'm due two days after you and also nervous as miscarried at 7 weeks in September. Can't stop peeing on sticks! Hope we both have sticky ones this time.

Cake I know it's scary but please don't panic. It is totally normal not to be seen until then as basically there is really nothing they can do at this stage. The first 12 weeks are a horrible waiting game if you ask me. But after that it's lovely!

Wecome to everyone else. Feeling really tired today but my toddler is refusing to go to bed Angry....sleepy. Zzzz

BeatrixRotter · 18/11/2010 21:33

Stormbird I am sure if you call the midwives they will be able to help you with getting an early scan. Sorry to hear about your friend.

sues1974 · 18/11/2010 21:47

Hi Ladies,
Having gone to a GP with my first pregnancy and found that they cant do anything other than refer you to the midwife i rang the reception this time and booked my own appointment. they automatically made it for when i just be 8 weeks pregnant. they ask me how far on i was i said 5 weeks and they made it for 3 weeks time (that was last week). the mw then refers you to your chosen hospital (remember you dont have to go with your local hospital if youve heard bad things about them and want to use another one) who will thwn book you your dating scan for week 10-12.
So cakeforbreakfast you really need to be getting booked in and all your forms filled out (medical history etc) at week 8 as it takes a couple of weeks to rcv a dating scan appointment. can you ring the reception and book an appointment at your local surgery?
sues xx

BeatrixRotter · 18/11/2010 21:51

I think it depends on your area sues. Midwives round here will not see you before 10 weeks and then then book you in for your nuchal/dating scan between 12-14 weeks. Think nuchal scan can't be done earlier than that.

BeatrixRotter · 18/11/2010 21:55

Sorry that should be 11-13 weeks! It's all a bit last minute round here but for some reason that's the way they do it.

Hey everyone,

So we've been trying for about 4 months now and I was far too impatient to wait til my period was due, so I took a test a couple of days ago and got a faint line. And then last night I did another test and it was definitely a BFP. My period isn't even due til tomorrow. Yikes.
All the due date calculators tell me different things. One said 27th July, one 29th July, one 5th August.
I've had a belly ache, tender breasts and constipation for days. This is all very confusing. It would be my first (I'm 32).
Scary!

I don't think we get nuchal scans free in Wawrickshire eitehr, Sues. FWIW I had one three years ago too and sure it was around £150 - it's more expensive than a normal scan because they do the scan but do blood analysis at the same time.

Congratulations, heygirls. I'm due 28th July!

Congratulations to emmywoo, cake4breakfast and julybutterfly (and anyone else I've missed).

I'm starting to wonder when I'll get my first midwife appointment too. I saw the doctor last week and he said that the midwives will contact me soon, but I haven't heard anything yet. I'm around 7 weeks by their dates (although actually more like 5 weeks) so hopefully I'll hear in the next few weeks. Apparently midwives in my area give one-to-one care so you keep the same midwife throughout. I feel really lucky to get that, it'll be nice to have a familiar face.

morning all..

really struggling with nausea not actually been sick yet. But lay awake all night feeling awful. Not good to then get up with three lo's and do breakfast and packed lunches feeling bleugh. oh the fun eh?!

Ditto nicola although I only have one DD so not so bad for me.

Welcome and congrats to al the newbies.

sues I paid for a nuchal scan last time around in London, think it was £125, but in Surrey where I live now I think I will be offered one as a routine test. I'm not sure how the nuchal scan and combined tests compare to be honest but they must be confident with the combined test if they still don't offer nuchal scan routinely.

Hi all, need to ask advice. My christmas party this year involves a game of Paintballing! I have never tried this before and i asked the company if it was safe to play and be pregnant - which to my surprise they said it would be fine! Part of me thinks that it will be fine but i'm a clumsy so and so and would probably spend the whole time being very cautious!

Had my midwife appointment yesterday (should have asked her) and she will be making a home visit two weeks today, which is when she will be booking my scan. As i'm now 7 weeks I would love it to be the week before christmas.
