Due July 2011?

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

Hi girls, have to have a moan im afraid, last night i couldnt sleep at all, i was wide awake from 2am, got up for a cuppa and a read, went back to bed at 5.30 for an hours sleep, had some weird disturbing dream and then managed to sleep in and was almost late for work.
Had a good day at work, told my female boss that im pregnant, she was really happy for me knowing that i might not of got pregnant again after cancer, and also helps that she has 4 kids of her own!! i have a midwife apt to book in tomorrow at 12.45 (by-passed GP and just booked it thru reception) and i have a hospital apt on friday morning so had to tell her really.
All day i was a bit worried as not feeling particuarly pregnant but trying to think positively, then started feeling sick driving home at 5pm. just been sick now 5 hours later after feeling dreadful all night, feel ok now ive been sick so hoping will be able to get some sleep. Its all new to me as was very lucky and only felt nauseous on and off for about 5 mins at a time with first pregnancy and it was over a period of 3 weeks. i never had the sleepness nights or weird dreams either. wonder if it means im carrying the opposite sex baby or just so lucky last time that im now coping the lot. ALso i have the sharp stitch pain in my right hand side, did have that last time but not as bad. Glad someone poste earlier it got worse with each pregnancy of theirs, stops me thinking it might be eptopic pregnancy.
ok moan over, thinking about wasting trying another preg test to see if its still showing a line or an even darker one this time.
suz xx

nicolamumof3 · 17/11/2010 22:19

you just described me a week ago sues, i was awake from 2am myself it was awful!!

ItIsILeclerc · 17/11/2010 23:05

Why thanks Hulla, nice to meet you Wink Forgot to say that I'm still planning to go to the festival you mentioned (assume it's the same one anyway), and hopefully working it too! It is very baby-friendly with nice loos, big change tent etc, plus I'm hoping to be in charge of the baby/toddler tent, which should just be a nice space to hang out in with little ones. Thanks for the interesting info re bfing in pregnancy btw.

Beatrix there are some threads search.yahoo.com/search?sm=Mumsnet&vs=www.mumsnet.com&q=3%20year%20age%20gap here that say some nice things about 3 years being perfect psychologically. Avoid the AIBU one as it has a rather trollish OP denouncing small age gaps so loads of replies saying that small gaps are great and three years mean your kids never speak to each other. Overall the gist seems to be that whether they get on depends mainly on personality and when I think about it three years is the difference between me and my younger brother, which doesn't seem too bad (we're friends!).

Btw, re the scan, the link Hulla posted above (this one) is fab. I had an early scan at St George's in Tooting last time around for nothing except a bit of waiting around. Might save you some pennies to spend on babygros :)

Can't remember what else I was going to post Blush Think we might have dropped a few people off the stats again if people don't copy the most recent one. Might get OCD tomorrow unless someone else gets there first.

Thinking of you Mamafoof x

Nic02 · 18/11/2010 05:55

Hello hello - so pleased to find this thread! Found out pg with first a couple of weeks ago and due July 5. Have already told a couple of people (at work too) and am now worried as I'm only 7 weeks....counting down the next 5....

Symptoms so far: tired tired tired! Asleep by 8pm but up at 5am, bit of morning sickness - need to find non scented fabric softener - yeuch! Any suggestions?

scrivette · 18/11/2010 07:30

Mamafoof - so sorry to hear your news.

Stormbird - I have been having pains in lower back (just one one side though) so wasn't sure if it was pregnancy related or not!

MissLolita · 18/11/2010 08:42

Mamafoof I'm so sorry to hear about your sad news - I'm thinking of you x

It has put my moans and groans into perspective - sciatica has flared up and I can't take any drugs; huge row with in-laws; husband lost his job again etc. Blush

Hulla · 18/11/2010 09:07

mama Sad thinking of you x

ItIsILeclerc that's interesting that you're going to brave the festival anyway - are you camping? I did say that I might see how things are nearer the time but the general opinion was that I was crazy to consider taking a 1mth/6 wk old to a festival and stay in a tent for 2 nights.

I read that 3 years is a good gap because your older dc is ready to share you whereas smaller children might get jealous and act up. I imagine there are pros and cons to having a small gap and a bigger gap. Probably what we'll all do it focus on the pros of our gap and make the best of it. There is 9 months between me and my dsis (she was premmie) and we're very close, 5 yes between me and my younger brother and we have always got on brilliantly.

Welcome Nic02 I'd add you to the stats buy I'm posting from my phone again. It's quite fiddly. I'll have a go later.

Got my scan date 29th Dec. I'm considering asking to swap it as I'm supposed to be working in HQ that week (80 miles away) but obviously I don't want it later and if it's not good news then maybe I'm better enjoying Christmas an finding out the next week.

MissLolita my sciatica has been terrible for a couple of weeks. I mentioned it to my gp and he said it's not pregnancy related - too early. I'm not convinced.

Ok DD is asking for more breakfast (that's my girl!) so will come back and tell you about conversation I had with the midwife this week.

Stangirl · 18/11/2010 09:15

Hulla ans ItIsILeclerc - I have missed the original post about festivals but if it is any help I took my 4mth old to Glastonbury this year for a whole week and had a whale of a time - as did she. We also took her to All Tomorrow's Parties (which is held in a Pontin's) when she was 3 months. Happy to share how we managed it if you want any advice.

hefner · 18/11/2010 10:05

mamafoof so sorry to hear your sad news.

Thanks to loueytbg and brightside for the tip on Becks blue, I'll get some this weekend. I tried non-alcoholic Cobra last weekend and wasn't impressed so I'm looking forward to finding a better replacement.

Hope everyone is well this morning. I'm feeling fine so far, my only real symptoms have been feeling tired and really sore boobs. I've already outgrown my bras so I think I'll need a trip to Bravissimo soon.

I've fallen off the stats somewhere along the way, adding myself back:

So sorry mamafoof

Had a little bleeding last night, so we were both fretful last night, POAS this morning and a stronger line appeared! So relieved as today is when my AF is due and have been having slight cramps too.

Hope everyone has a good day.

BeatrixRotter · 18/11/2010 11:08

Morning all

I am feeling rough this morning and wondering if this is the start of MS. I got away with it last time so may not be so lucky this time. I am also having the problem waking in the night and not being able to get back to sleep, it's awful isn't it? So tiring.

Hefner talking of bras I don't think I can face another 9 months without underwired bras.

Chocoflakes I have heard it is quite common to have bleeding around the time of your period.

nicolamumof3 · 18/11/2010 12:13

morning all, oh afternoon isn't it!!

on the subject of age gaps, i don't think there is a perfect one tbh. they all have their pro's and cons. Had a 6.5yr gap between ds1 and 2 and it was nice in that i had time in the day with just the baby whilst older one at school but then they were too far apart when older to play. Ds2 and 3 on the other hand are 18m apart exactly and really are buddies most of the time. Didn't find the age gap as hard as i had expected tho i had to use a double buggy for 18m which i hated!

Will have a 4yr age gap between ds3 and this new one. So a big gap again.

went to docs this morning, totally uneventful as i expected. Just asked me to make midwife appointment for couple of weeks time, there were no half hour appt available so going 9th december for booking in. Just hope it doesn't clash with any xmas plays!!

Blimey Pixie you must have a busy house! Congratulations!

Icklelilly · 18/11/2010 13:06

I'm all confused - what are stats and how do I join?

MissLolita · 18/11/2010 13:27

Hulla my sciatica is my own fault (which makes it worse) as I decided to wallpaper an entire room in an afternoon a couple of weeks ago and whenever it has flared up before I've relied on horse-strength drugs to see me through. I went to the GP yesterday who said I need to get it sorted ASAP as it will apparently only get worse. I'm on codeine/paracetemol but the dosage is so low it's not really touching the pain at all. Do you have any advice on easing symptoms that don't involve drugs?

Also, Hulla how did you know about your scan? I had to register to join a gp surgery when I got my bfp (just moved house, hence the wallpapering) and the nurse who put me on the books told me to make a m/w apt which is for 1 December but I've had no further contact from anyone...

Welcome PixieOnALeaf, I've added you below. Icklelilly welcome! Stats are:
MN name + EDD (estimated due date) + pg# (pregnancy number) + age + and existing children (DS = darling son, DD = draling daughter and their ages). If any of this is wrong please do correct me!

Good Morning all!

mamafoof not sure if you are still around, but hope that you are doing OK. Sorry to hear that it wasn't great news but hope to see you back on the antenatal boards with good news soon!

Congratulations and welcome all newcomers! ickle the stats are the list of everyone on the thread, with their expected due date (EDD), whether it is your first, second, sixth etc pregnancy (PG# X), your age and the ages of your children if you have any. Copy the list form the thread above and add yourself. It is in due date order.

WOW pixie I am stressing about how I will cope with a second child and you are expecting your 6th!!! That is amazing and I look forward to hearing all your tips & tricks!

Hulla and MissLolita I do wonder if the ligaments relaxing in pregnancy can exacerbate problems like sciatica. I pulled a muscle in my back 3 days before I got my +HPT and it seems rather a coincidence! I have since had lots of vague back-aches.

I had my first few hours of morning sickness last night - it cleared up as soon as I had eaten and I am back to feeling normal. I really struggled with MS in my last pregnancy (I weighed 6 kgs less at 12 weeks pregnant than I did before I fell pregnant!) so am really hoping to avoid it this time.

Reading all the good things about a 3 year age gap has been great - I think I am going to research some good stories about a 2 year age gap now! Grin

BrightSideOfLife · 18/11/2010 13:29

Sorry MissLolita - I cross posted!

Have you tried a hot compress (Or those heatpads that you can buy in pharmacies?) You can't use the ones that are medicated but the normal ones might help.

MissLolita · 18/11/2010 13:29

Ickle I meant to add that you can either copy and post the long list and add yourself in or just post your stats and someone will add them for you x

PregnantInParis · 18/11/2010 14:10

Can I add my stats to the list pls?

EDD 20/7 pg#1 age 30

Mamafoof if you're still around, so sorry to hear your news

I'm a bit worried hearing about everyone's early symptoms - I have nothing at all so far, I don't think I'm more tired than usual though I could definitely do with a nice lie-in! Know it sounds stupid but I would almost like to feel nauseous just to be reassured that there's something going on in there! Famous last words ...

LadyGoneGaga · 18/11/2010 14:28

Just adding PregnantinParis!

Well I turned 4 weeks this morning. Is the ddisadvantage of finding out early. I'm the least pregnant person here Sad Smile

Still nervy and still can't stop peeing on sticks. Shelled out for a ClearBlue Digi last night. Came out as 1-2 weeks but not with FMU and actually technically accurate (must not MENKUL so much).

Going to carry on doing IC's every couple of days til 12 weeks I think. Anyone else? The joys of pregnancy after miscarriage.

BrightSideOfLife · 18/11/2010 16:11

ladygonegaga - I have one more HPT at home and will do it in the next few days, but will do not more after that. When I mc before DD's pregnancy, I was still getting very strong +HPTs until nearly 2 weeks after the actual mc. So unfortunately I learnt the hard way that the tests don't mean much.(I have never wanted a negative test as much as I did fo rthose two weeks!)

But I know exactly what you mean about paranoia after mc. When I got dressed this morning, it crossed my mind that if I wore dark underwear, I wouldn't be able to see if I started bleeding or not. How sad is that!!!!

highheelsandequations · 18/11/2010 16:13

So sorry mamafoof, sending you hugs.

ladygonegaga I was POAS just about every day until the nurse at the fertility clinic told me to stop, since then I've been good and haven't done any tests since Monday, although getting very tempted to test again tomorrow, have gone through all my ICs now but still have 3 cbs left...

I am still counting down the hours till Monday morning and my 4th scan (!) with everything crossed that we see more than last time and get some good news.
