Oooh - can't be long - want to watch celeb mastermind.....

Ok - we'll wait and see on the baby grow front - although all my friends know how mad my MIL has gone on other things - so can't see us getting that many pressies.

Love the mute button idea bubba

Oh and all you girls thinking about trimming - namely salt and amigoing - you make me very proud that you are even considering doing this! to be fair though - my mum hasn't got a full negth mirror except in their bedroom - so not like i get to check what I look like Grin

oooh - and bubba - trying to lie on left - but that's where my stupid bruised ribs are so at the moment it's too painful to lie on that side... so sleeping is bit of a nightmare. I might try a deep freeze pack on it tonight as I read that might help!

right - mastermind calling (not that i'll be able to answer anything Grin)

RockLover · 07/01/2011 19:05

I have not had to buy any clothes for baby so far as I've had donations from mine and partner's families (all really good stuff).

Little one is sorted up to 3-6 months already, just washing the newborn and 0-3 sizes at the moment though.

Mw said I had a little glucose in my urine today, she's not very worried, but has suggested I stop eating sugar just in case. How the hell am I supposed to do that when that's over half my diet?? I'm going to start going sugar free tomorrow, really not happy about it at all.

Just ate nearly a whole medium sized thin crust pizza, now I feel like a complete pig, but I am absolutely starving all the time at the moment. Weirdly I am actually looking forward to being able to diet when the the baby is here as I feel slightly out of control at the moment.

Think I might actually attempt to go to bed early tonight, I need a decent night's sleep.

LadyBubbaAndBump · 07/01/2011 19:10

Oh crystyll :( it's not your day :(

Get the duvet out, demolish the cheesecake with only a bit of guilt that you're not sharing it with the rest of us, and veg infront of the tv tonight.

I've not bought any newborn stuff due to fatties #1 and #2 :o

might pop (!) to Sainsbo's in the morning and have a looksey for the gruffalo stuff for DD2 - she's in love with the story. Or might get some stickers/colouring things to keep them occupied when they come to visit us in hospital. Secretly hoping to stay in a couple of days! Hmm

CupcakesHay · 07/01/2011 20:59

Oooh crystylline poor you! Stupid flat pack furniture - you were obviously too hard on it! And the telly! OMIGOD! Does it make you feel better - it's dire tonight? (apart from Mastermind!)

And rock poor poor you - no sugar? is she mad - you might slip into a coma Grin

Umm - if it makes you feel better - just had cup of tea and dipped practically a third of a choc orange in it.

And bubba apparently Sains has a new range of adorable caterpillar clothes... i'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that the sains near here is miles away!

I also got told to cut down on the sugar by my MW, she's clearly mad and I'm clearly not listening as I've just eaten 3 fairy cakes that me and DD made this morning. Was hoping for an early night but as DD slept for quite a while late on this afternoon she's still awake and if I'm awake I'm hungry. All going quiet now though so fingers crossed she's given in! Night all

CupcakesHay · 07/01/2011 23:40

Poor you as well jjkm on the sugar front. can you spot all the girls on mat leave/countdown???

How are the twins? I meant to ask - did you have a nice christmas- did you go in and see them? Any news when they'll be home?

LadyBubbaAndBump · 08/01/2011 09:35

DD1 not well today, so snuggled on sofa watching CBeebies (godsend. always thought pre-babies that I wouldn't rely on tv. ROFL at that now!!)

Other DD obviously also transfixed and DH gone out for a run, so all is quiet an dlovely here! :)

Crystylline · 08/01/2011 09:41

morning all!

thanks for all the symp. today is a new day - involving lunch with friends and a bit of retail therapy - huzzah!

sleep still not great - expect this is par for the course now - for how many years? lol

anyone else's bump getting v. uncomfy? All yesterday evening, it felt bowling ball hard - bath didn't even soften it. Baby moving/kicking like a mad thing as well making it even more tense.

I swear my baby is an alien - his bum just rises up and sticks right out whenever the bump tenses. Smile

LadyBubbaAndBump · 08/01/2011 09:58

Maybe yours and mine are twin aliens - this one's bum rises out a hell of a long way too - can't quite work out how it does what it does, but it blimmin' well hurts and looks very, very odd!

enjoy your lunch and retail therapy! sounds a much better plan than anything else :)

CupcakesHay · 08/01/2011 11:08

crystylline I call my bump "the basketball" so much that i think when he's born that'll still be his nickname! Grin - could be worse ones i spose! have fun shopping and lunching!

Poor DD bubba - but Cbeebies snuggle sounds perfect. As does the fairy cakes fuzzy!!!

I slept crap too (surprise, surprise) but postman delivered my amazon books I ordered (kind of baby manuals!) and 2 soft books for the baby - and my glee CD. So sticking on ipod for a glee extravaganza later tonight! - yes i'm sad!

Also had a letter through to meet the "local health visitor" which was nice - so seeing them thurs... so exciting my life!

Ooh and had email about the nighties - due to be delivered any day now - so really life's all good today! Grin amazing the things i get excited over isn't it? I'll be one of those mums showing of baby's poo proudly - ha ha!!!! Wink

RockLover · 08/01/2011 12:23

Woke up this morning after a crap night's sleep and found dp had sorted dd's breakfast and a dvd for her, so I went straight back to bed.

Now I'm up and I feel rubbish and STILL feel tired. Despite the no sugar rule I have have eaten a biscuit and drunk some squash, so I've failed at the first hurdle! God I want to feel normal again, can't wait to have my body back to myself.

I really need to do some more sorting out todayso I can start packing, but I have just found that one of the nursing camis my dsis bought me for Christmas has a security tag attached to it. Need to find out if my local Mothercare will remove it, which would mean a 20 min drive to the next town which I REALLY don't feel like doing.

I need a bloody servant to do all this crap for me!

CupcakesHay · 08/01/2011 13:03

rock where is the nearest mothercare? Is it plymouth or is there one closer.

I'm panicking about nursing bras... i have 2 both not very comfy. Hoping to get home and then order a couple on the internet afetr birth to see how big and stupid my boos are - i'm an awkward size to start with and last itme i got measured in Dec - was told i was 40ff - so that's the nursing bras - but very tight. grrr - i hate bras!

I think it's Newton Abbot, I'm about to check. I'm certainly not going all the way to Plymouth today. I'd go on the train if it was Plymouth because I don't know the city well enough to drive through it and find parking.

I bought 2 nursing bras from M & S, they measured me and from my current size they predicted I should buy and F cup. So I duly purchased said F cup bras and they look ridiculously HUGE, I'm going to have comedy boobs!

I am ashamed to say I only bought one nursing bra and it's looking a tad grey now Blush. I had to apologise to the M & S lady when she measured me and explain that I hadn't felt well enough to do much bra shopping.

Dp has just lured dd out into town on the promise of cake in a cafe. For some reason she just detests going out on a weekend unless it's swimming or climbing Tors on Dartmoor (not in my condition thanks). But I am desperate for her to get some fresh air or she will just watch dvds and play games all day.

I'm being a hypocrite really because I hardly ever venture out at weekends these days, although I have to take us all grocery shopping later (that'll be anoth battle with dd as she LOATHES supermarkets). My life is soooo exciting.

RockLover · 08/01/2011 13:39

Duh, typos, I meant I only bought one maternity bra. Pregnancy brain!

RunningKatie · 08/01/2011 13:51

Afternoon

I've just been to look at the moses basket, only to discover DP has already made it up with sheets etc. Aww bless. :) I've sent him off to his parents to do some work on his mini, although I think he's just arrived home which is going to disrupt my Miss Marple viewing. Blush

CupcakesHay · 08/01/2011 16:09

Oooh running and rock love that your DH/Dp's are being so helpful! Good for them!

Spoke to DH today and he is planning to investigate slings for baby when he gets to London. it's the only thing he's gone on about since day 1 - so not going to complain if he wants to carry baby!

jjkm - poor twins Sad so many little things! Poor lambkins. but at least they are holding their own - although bet when they are older and running around screaming you'll be wishing the vocal chords might get paralysed again - even for a tiny while Wink

Crystylline · 08/01/2011 16:24

Hi All.

what a lovely afternoon! sun is shining and the view over dartmoor is just beautiful today.

cupcakes i bought a Big Mama Sling. Lots of different colours and extremely beautifully made. I have a few friends who have them and they are just brilliant. about £35 new or you can get them on ebay.

there's a mothercare in exeter as well, but plym is prob closer for you.

echo the lovely DPs comments - you lucky ladies!

jjkm i'm so pleased the twins are developing well, though the difficulties must be hard to cope with. huge hugs to you and i really hope that they continue to get excellent care and know they've already got excellent love from you. xx

rock i am also the proud owner of comedy breasts at 40EE - they won't bloody stop growing, so have only bought one nursing bra so far, as no idea how huge they are going to get. I know it's a terribly crass boy-kinda-thing to do, but i am so tempted to weigh them!!

bubba waiting for this evening's alien antics to commence... won't be long now before he starts!

gallicgirl · 08/01/2011 16:32

www.bigmamaslings.co.uk/zen-cart/

That's a really good site for comparing the pros and cons of different slings. See if you can find a local sling meet and you could try them out too. I'm going for a moby wrap - my sister used one and it was brilliant. The mai tai was ok too. It was so much easier to carry baby niece around shops in sling rather than try to get a pram through the aisles and crowds.

Newton Abbot always reminds me of Tuckers Maltings- quite possibly my DPs favourite beer shop!

I've had a lazy morning with DP and now he's gone off to work I'm supposed to be hitting Sainsburys and tidying up a bit. Obviously I'm MNing while I work up the energy to do either Wink

I really can't decide what's happening with baby's position. I don't know whether to just be patient and wait for midwife appointment on Wednesday when I will be 39+2 or to call ante-natal ward tomorrow and see about going in for scan. It just seems to be leaving it a bit late if she does have to be turned again. Suppose it won't hurt to call hospital and ask for advice.

Crystylline · 08/01/2011 16:37

gallicgirl and cupcakes - sorry I meant a moby wrap from Big Mama Slings! [slap face]

and gallic yeah, phone the hospital if you think the bump has been doing naughty cartwheels - better to try another ecv now than later, so it will give you more time to plan for any other intervention - really hope you don't need it though. x

and ooh beer... i can't wait for ale, real ale... with really smelly cheese

gallicgirl · 08/01/2011 16:46

mmmmmm Adnams......and a nice stinky brie.

Grin

or a pint of Jail Ale in your case Crystylline?

I should stop obsessing about food. I feel guilty enough for drinking the occasional can of pepsi and eating far too much chocolate.

Does anyone else find the slightest suggestion of food leads to an immense desire to eat said food?

Crystylline · 08/01/2011 17:12

cravings firmly started...

cornish blue with port or somerset brie/camembert with Sleeper Heavy or Jail Ale, or Honey Beer, or Adnams Broadside... in fact just ale!!

and given baby's wonderful timing, i'm missing the CAMRA Winter Ale festival for the first time in many years Sad

i've been off red wine (another love) all pregnancy, but had a few little glasses of white wine. can't touch spirits though - the smell [bluech - sick face]

gallicgirl · 08/01/2011 17:21

Do they do a summer festival?

You sound like a girl after my own heart Grin

We can easily do a trip to Southwold for a good selection of Adnams. My personal favourite is the East Green. The south-west is a little trickier to manage as it's a 5 hour drive minimum. DP and I were talking about making a trip to Perranporth at some point. We met there and would love to go back with our new baby but can't say I fancy the idea of a 7 hour drive from the east coast!

Right, I'm off to forage for pregnancy-friendly cheese to tide me over until I can get out the stinky runny stuff.

CupcakesHay · 08/01/2011 17:32

Ah - not much of an Ale fan, so you haven't started any cravings from me - but the cheese! I went to the local deli the otehr day - ooooh i was looking at the stinking bishop and all the blue cheese... Sad soon my pretties!

gallic have you been to sainsburys yet?

I'll have a look at sling site - but def pass onto DH. he's so eager! Odd for him as he's usual sooooo laidback.

hmm - had a look online and the newton abbott m'cares shut. tsk!

And agree completely about the cravings - it's best not to even think about anything otherwise i find I really want it NOW. I mentioned to my mum about yorkshire puds for sunday dinner - and now can't get them out of my head! Oh - and i'm obsessed by peas - but they're minging in Syria - so i'm always obsessed by frozen peas! Grin
