New trimester, new thread. Here's to us becoming grumpy, impatient, fat and uncomfy while counting down the days... :o [hhmm] :o

I'm with Queen Charlottes and have heard mostly really good things about them. Anyway, thanks everyone for their kind words, I am feeling better today. Just waiting for Strictly Come Dancing results and X factor final. God I watch way too much TV. Need to start planning 'things to do' on maternity otherwise I'll waste my life watching Jeremy Kyle :( What does everyone else do? I mean, once baby is a few months old and stuff?

My nesting hasn't really kicked in yet either but I have managed to get DH to pack away his scale electrix (thankgod!)In my 35th week now - seems to have gone so fast :)

Pootle78 · 12/12/2010 20:38

Sorry Bubba we have loads to do, just not inclined to do it at the moment!

CupcakesHay · 13/12/2010 00:06

Hmm hadn't even thought as far as how to occupy my day with a baby....

I almost wet myself earlier! My dad made me laugh, which started me on a 10 minute coughing fit - and then i had to RUN to loo - made it just in time. Between coughing and toilet trips - i'm down to one hour sleep, get up for 5 mins to cough/loo and then back to sleep for another hour. UGH.

bubba think you made a fab decision going to your parents. Did they pamper you and spoil you?

I'm only in 33rd week.... should we do our EDD things again? Would be quite nice to see - but i'm too lazy to trawl back! So how about copying and pasting from this bit? will that work? (ps. I think i ramble more than anyone on this thread!)

jjkm that is fab news, so good to hear they are doing so well.

I am sick of not sleeping, I had a total meltdown this morning after being awake from 5 then getting up to find we have no water arghhh!!

I would like this all to be over with now thank you!

I have my consultant appointment on Wednesday and will hopefully have my section date then, it will be nice to have something to plan towards finally.
My hospital bag currently had nappies in it and that is all!

cupcakes I will update the list on Wednesday when I have my dates Smile

CupcakesHay · 13/12/2010 09:27

jjkm perfectly understandable about the names - i'm far too nosy! But really really pleased your girls are doing so well!

ladybuzz I'm kind of with yoou on the wanting it all to be over - well, would be if DH was here!

ZippyPippy · 13/12/2010 19:59

Have just caught up on everyone's news, lots going on!!

I had a VERY annoying day, had to go to a surestart centre for my midwife appointment as my surgery clinic was booked up solid when I rang 2 weeks ago. The midwife was covering for someone and didn't have the equipment to do my 34 week blood test, so I had to go up to the hospital to have it done!! Took up my whole afternoon, I was not impressed. Angry

Bump is still breech as well, she says not to worry yet, but it's been breech every visit so am really starting to worry. Will be spending a lot of time on all fours, apparently that might help shift it!!

Sorry for the rant. Hope everyone is coping with their various aliments.

I've just had 5 days off work, and during that time my maternity cover has resigned. I finish next Friday, I think hysteria may kick in quite shortly.

scubamummy · 14/12/2010 13:20

Sorry for absence, exams all done and dusted now. The diabetes diet is a pain in the bum as all I want to eat is mash and selection box chocolates, but I'm getting used to it. Happily, my skin looks great with all the veggies I'm mainlining! :) Have stopped losing weight too Confused and baby growing fine so all seems to be back on track.

Exciting news for stars, all best wishes for your little boy to get stronger and come home soon. Sounds like he's a little fighter. Lovely name too!

Running I can't believe your mat cover has resigned! Honestly, it's not your problem to worry about, it's your boss'.

Good luck with spinning your baby zippy

Hi All,

Thanks for the good wishes. Still doing ok, but protein in urine today at MW appointment, so tests being done now. blood pressure etc all normal, so hopefully just a glitch, rather than anything scary. Fingers crossed, eh?!

flipping complicated this pregnancy lark!

Nice to see fellows devonians on here. I'm out in the sticks above dartmoor - very beautiful, but not so clever for transport etc.

[b]ladybuzz[b] empathise with the bags scenario. only just packed mine this weekend, and suspect I've forgotten everything useful, and packed only silly things I won't need/use.

[b]zippy[b] my somersaulting baby can't make his mind up. head down last week, breach this week. just trying to ignore it and have faith he'll work out the right way round in time!

Eeek I haven't really finished my bag - haven't got room til after New Year due to MIL coming at Xmas, and brother and SIL coming at new year... so baby can't come til then! (well, can't come til DH is here anyhow:)) But i have my toiletries packed...

Hello chloe and nice to see you back amigoingmad

scuba well done on your exams - and don't worry about the chocs - you can buy some in the sales and then go crazy in Feb! And if you breast feed you can use that whole extra calories stuff as an excuse!

And running that is PANTS! how annoying about your mat cover, but agree with scuba - try not to stress - it's not your prob, and all will be ok.

And crystylline dartmoor's sooooo pretty - but yeah, let's hope the snow stays away. Which hospital do you go to?

ZippyPippy · 14/12/2010 19:34

running your maternity cover has resigned already!? Shock What a nightmare, they obviously couldn't live up to your high standard!!

I'm handing over my job at the moment, is EXHAUSTING. Am counting the days until Christmas Eve and last day horrah!! Xmas Grin

Ooooh - seeing the list growing and everything - it's making it all the more real isn't it.... in 2 months time, we'll all have the bundles of joy here....!

Crystylline · 14/12/2010 22:18

hi cupcakes!

been to exeter a few times, but pending further complications, I'm allowed to go to the maternity hospital in Okehampton - much less stress and very good one to one care.

Exeter's fine (clean and tidy), but it's manic in there (so many people and long delays to see anyone) and lots of doctors/consultants who seem to have the lead over midwives and their decisions.

would much prefer a midwifery led unit to counter against unecessary interventions.

what about you?

Running, that is v. rubbish. Like scuba said though, not your problem to sort. Don't let it stress you out.

Got a bit of a shock this morning, thought I'd had a show. Doesn't sound like it actually was though as not pink, but it made me realise I am not Mary Tudor and this baby is actually going to turn up some time pretty soon [fucking terrified emoticon].

CupcakesHay · 14/12/2010 23:07

Grinflora soooo funny with the Mary Tudor comment! Did you call your m/wife about the "show"?

Pleased it's not just me who's absolutely terrified - and getting more scared every day. I'm clinging to the whole "my Dh will make it in time" thing - a bit like leonardo di caprio clinging onto the wardrobe door in titanic - you know he's going to die anyhow - just a question of when...

Oh - think you're right - def need a scared emoticon!

Also - I've been eating like a horse lately - is it just me who's been ravenous all of a sudden? Hmm

RunningKatie · 15/12/2010 04:10

Morning all

In some mad pregnancy logic, I can't sleep so figured I'd get up, have a cup of tea, do an hours work and go back to bed hopefully having calmed my mind a bit. Still shocked/grumpy my cover has resigned, I've got 8 days to go and no-one to hand over to. Someone asked me what my price for overtime was and I told them no amount of money would persuade me to stay longer, I need some sleep!!

Got a ladies only NCT class this morning, apparently it's the post-birth gory stuff that might make the blokes faint :)

CupcakesHay · 15/12/2010 07:26

Hi running I've been up since 6am not being able to sleep either. And everyone always says "oooh - get loads of sleep whilst preg" - but hard isn't it.

Butmarmite on toast makes it all worthwhile!

love your workplace - asking you to do OT!

FloraPost · 15/12/2010 07:30

Yup, that's exactly what our ladies-only classes were.

I didn't call the midwife. This is in line with my new sanity-saving policy of engaging with the health service as little as humanly possible.

Crystylline · 15/12/2010 10:00

The insomnia must be spreading!

I too was up at 4am and fat chance of any sleep after that. Have become an expert at staring at the ceiling and page-turning books (that I can't focus on enough to read).

Anyone else got a hyper-active baby at this time of day? Felt like the World Gymnastics Championships had commenced in my womb...

and Running that is pants about your maternity cover/work. I've only got a few days left and there's no way I could be dragged back in unless it was an emergency.

LadyBuzz · 15/12/2010 13:05

I'm booked in, My baby will be here on January 18th unless she decides to put in an early appearance!

I can't sleep either its so crap I really love sleeping too!

running how crap with your mat cover and OT? are they having a laugh!?!
