Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

Anyone else with the backache?

Good luck to those having scans today!

phoebexxx · 29/10/2010 12:19

Hi Everyone, I found out i was pregnant last week and am due 26th June. really excited this is my first so got lots of learning to do!! Saw my midwife this morning and got another appt next week - she split my booking appt as i go on hols in a couple of weeks so was pleased to see her and get some reassurance. What symptoms have you been having? iv not had many but have jad a stomach cramp tummt for what feels like ages but the midwife says this is quite normal

LobstersLass · 29/10/2010 12:30

If the list is still being maintained can me name please be taken off it.

I went for a scan today and the baby hasn't grown at all since last week. I'm having an operation tomorrow to have it removed.

I'm devastated. Not sure how long I can go on having miscarriages. It's heartbreaking to see my husband crying. Christ this is tough.

catherineps · 29/10/2010 12:34

I'm really sorry.

takethatlady · 29/10/2010 12:37

lobsterslass I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you and your DH are able to give yourselves a lot of time and space. :(

Loujalou · 29/10/2010 12:37

Big hugs Lobster

neenewps · 29/10/2010 12:55

yellowtomato · 29/10/2010 13:02

I am really very sorry to hear your news lobsterlass my heart goes out to you and I'm sending you some ((hugs))

I know nothing i can say can make it better but you are in my thoughts.

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 29/10/2010 13:02

Lobsterlass I am so sorry Sad Take care of yourself and your DH too :(

Yellowtomato - wow you must be on tenterhooks!!

sasamaxx · 29/10/2010 13:13

Lobsterlass - so sorry to hear that - look after yourself x

IssyStark · 29/10/2010 13:16

lobsterlass I know exactly what you are going through. take care of both of you.

I now traditionally have a meal of bread, pate and blue cheese washed down with a nice red whenever i come back from a scan which shows I've miscarried again. It's just a little ritual, almost like a wake, that the Spouse and I have developed as part of our coping strategy.

Humania · 29/10/2010 13:19

So sorry Lobsterlass Sad

IssyStark · 29/10/2010 13:19

Scan update: I'm measuring 5.5w, not the 6.5 weeks my LMP dates would suggest. This is not beyond the pale as it took for ever to get a BFP and my cycles do vary between 29-35 days.

They saw a gestational sac, a yolk sac but couldn't see a fetal pole. However my uterus was tilted back and at 5.5w they often don't see stuff even with a normally poitioned uterus.

So back for another scan next Friday. This is hauntingly familiar as they same thing happened with my son (they saw a pole but no heartbeat at what should have been 6.5w) so I'm not giving up hope yet.

yellowtomato · 29/10/2010 13:28

Hi Issy Sorry that is wasn't more conclusive for you but as you say getting the BFP late and having longer cycles can have an impact.

I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you. It's good you can have another scan next week and it sounds like you've had a successful outcome from a similar situation so that is another positive.

TabithaTwitchet · 29/10/2010 13:51

Lobsterlass really sorry to hear your sad news.

Wobblewatcher · 29/10/2010 14:38

Lobsterlass

You poor poor thing. How many have you had?? I have had two and that is more than enough. My god I hope you are coping ok, are you going to try again??

Thinking of you and your family xx xx

Wobblewatcher · 29/10/2010 14:44

Sorry for another post-didn't want to put the following in the same message as previous IYSWIM.

TTL I have terrible back ache and did also at this exact time with my DD. I have a bad back anyway and it seems to be worse at this time because all the ligaments are loosening. I see a chiro and will be adjusted Monday. Last pregnancy I really panicked that it meant bad news but of course had I have though rationally, which I think I did in the end, I would have worked out that it would have been everything loosening and wouldn't have made sense for the pain to be anything else, wasn't bleeding or anything. Sometimes my pain can go round to the front like in my pelvis but I get that without being pg. So don't worry!! Mine is very painful at times...

Issy really really hoping for good news next time, I'm sure it will be hon, thinking of you also...

I just got my scan date through for the 13th dec so I'm glad we have the private one as I would not have been able to hold out!

mummynumber2 · 29/10/2010 14:47

lobsterlass I'm so sorry to hear your terrible news. It must be heartbreaking for you both.

issy fingers crossed. The uncertainty must be difficult, I admire your positive attitude.

Humania · 29/10/2010 15:09

Issy I can't imagine how difficult the wait will be til next scan but it sounds like your attitude is fantastic. Crossing everything for you.

Just booked private scan for Nov 9th at the Fetal Medicine Centre in London... they were wonderful last time. I'll be approx 9 weeks and like many of you I just can't hold out til 13+ weeks for the NHS one.

mummynumber2 I was following your other thread and your sickness just sounds horrendous. I honestly don't know how some of you are functioning - I do hope you get some respite soon.

baby1ahhh · 29/10/2010 15:35

HI, can i join?? - found out on Saturday so im about 5-6 weeks with my first and very nervous, so nervous we've decided not to tell anyone (except my employer as i work with xrays) until we cant get away with it anymore!
Think ill be due around 26th June. Not had any contact from midwife, cant wait for the call.
No real symptoms except sore boobs and back ache but the dreams have started, wow theyre messed up Shock

Wobblewatcher · 29/10/2010 15:44

Two themes that run through this thread:

Nerves

Early scans

Smile
takethatlady · 29/10/2010 16:00

Nerves - check.
Early scan - not yet, but I'll be getting one.
Weird dreams - check.
Waking up at 4am every day, despite being knackered - check.
Sore boobs - check, though sometimes they alarmingly fade.
Big boobs - check, I'm bursting out of my bra.
Back ache - double check.

Only thing I don't have is nausea unless I think really long and hard about vomit Grin

Feel like a madwoman.

baby1ahhh · 29/10/2010 16:05

Ok, im so new at this it might sound ridiculous to ask Blush what week does the midwife arrange a scan for?
Im looking at private scans on t'internet and i can get one booked for when im 8 weeks and its a sunday and a reasonable price. Havent spoken to MW yet so dont want to book it if im going to have an NHS one around the same time.
Do you ladies recommend them then? It might settle our nerves as my partner is constantly trying to feel for our 'peanut' even tho ive told him its the size of a pin head!!

Clarkiee · 29/10/2010 16:11

It's usually around the 12 week mark baby1ahhh mine will be just over 11 weeks.
It's my first baby and I'm not having an early scan- maybe if I'd had complications in past pregnancys I'd have considered it, but as I haven't I'm going to save my pennies (and think 'what will be, will be- early scan or not).

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 29/10/2010 16:17

All booked in at the midwifes, now it's just a 5-6 week wait for the scan . At least I've managed to go near the supermarket (though NOT the fish or meat aisles ) and eat food that isn't toast Grin

TTL yes I'm getting back ache too. Also occassional head aches, faintness, nausea, sore nipples, food aversion, etc etc. You're perfectly normal! Grin

That's crap for you and your DH Lobster Sad
