Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

Tabitha

This doesn't sound too worrying TBH, have seen lots of others on here with this and so long as it doesn't get much worse I wouldn't be concerned. But yes bring it up with doc tomorrow.

It's such a worry this pregnancy lark!

moomin156 · 28/10/2010 19:09

I am feeling virtuous as i made mysef salmon in an asian broth with rice.......but it just hasnt hit the spot, i know i am now not hungry but i had to make myself eat it and i usually love it :(

yellowtomato · 28/10/2010 19:18

Hello all

Just a quick one to say scan was all good, dates correct at 6+5 and we saw the heartbeat. Feel so relieved, phew what a stressful day.

moomin156 · 28/10/2010 19:19

Fantastic news yellowtomato......so pleased for you

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 28/10/2010 19:22

Tabitha I posted about this a few pages back. I'm having exactly the same thing at the moment. It's really scary to find blood, but I spoke to the doctor at the early pregnancy unit and she said it's very common, usually caused by all the stretching going on inside our bodies, and sometimes by intercourse etc. It's nothing to worry about unless it is bright red and accompanied by pain. If you're worried then they can do a check in the same way as they do a smear test.

Of course that doesn't stop it being scary, I'm not going to relax until everything is completely normal again.

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 28/10/2010 19:23

Great news yellowT!!

8rubberduckies · 28/10/2010 19:24

My diet has gone to pot... My DP refuses to cook and I just haven't got the energy, so every night I'm just stood in front of the freezer seeing what I can defrost Blush. Tonight it's quiche and chips...

One minute I'm starving hungry, so I eat, and the next minute I'm so full up I feel sick, with nothing inbetween. Gone off sweet stuff, which is unusual for me, and just want stacks of savoury goodies!

Tabitha, I'd say your spotting is pretty harmless, as long as it's lighter than your period and you're not getting bad cramps with it. Good excuse to put your feet up!

sasamaxx · 28/10/2010 19:32

Great news yellowtomato

rubberduckies - I'm like that too just now. Just can't enjoy food when the appetite is so unpredictable - and rubbish frozen food just doesn't cut it

mrsbigw · 28/10/2010 19:39

lovely news Yellowtom bet you feel much better after that.

Think my baby was a saturday afternoon while the kids watching cartoons quickie [hwink]!

I have lost my sweet tooth too. At the moment I am living on plain toast & crisps, I know that can't help me feel better but its all I can manage.

Was a bit disappointed when i went to beauticians today as they said I cant have spray tan in 1st trimester & I look so grey & sallow its awful. I thought tanning was safe all the way through but apparantly not?

moomin156 · 28/10/2010 19:53

You can have a cream one though i think, its the inhalation of chemicals they worry about with a spray........

mrsbigw · 28/10/2010 19:58

Thanks moomin I am trying to make the effort for myself & for the Mr although it is getting harder all the time.

On the plus side they have got the foot nibbling fish in there now so I have booked in for that in a couple of weeks. Am determined to pamper myself as much as possible this time.

clench234 · 28/10/2010 20:23

Issy, thanks very much. Will see when my NHS scan is and book this if it's toooooo long a wait.
Loving the fish nibbling idea :-)
Great news yellow and yes, rest up tabitha, chances are it should be fine. I had spotting last time and ds2 was fine.

Beesok · 28/10/2010 20:27

Mrsbigw I hear you about the pampering! I am booking my pedi on Saturday and can't wait for the 12 weeks to be done so I can colour my hair again. I think with all the bloating, constipation, ms and all other lovely symptoms we need to put even more effort :) but I will not succumb to the frumpy pregnant woman look!!!!

Weekend mission: buy SEXY maternity underwear! [hgrin]

BTW is that fish pedi safe during pregnancy - have wanted to try it myself but was hesitatnt....

mrsbigw · 28/10/2010 20:38

Oh no don't say that Beesok I will actually cry if anything else fun goes on the banned list! So far on MN I have read about possible dangers to pg of baths, swimming, sex, hair dye...coupled with not getting my tan today I am starting to feel a little bit deprived [hsad]

am going to google the fish pedicure but if it turns out to be banned I am going to stop any further pg reading as it is spoiling any slight bit of pleasure I may have left[hwink]!

misshoohaa · 28/10/2010 20:45

clench do you mean Chichester, West Sussex or the other?
If so there is a place in Fareham called LB Healthcare - £55 quid!

moomin156 · 28/10/2010 20:50

i Have already had my hair coloured, put some tan on my legs, had one glass of wine every week, at least 4 baths a week and had sex Think you can get too obsessed and you have to feel good about yourself.....

8rubberduckies · 28/10/2010 20:55

I'm sorry tellowtom I missed your post, glad all is well with your bean! Smile

8rubberduckies · 28/10/2010 20:55

tellowtom = yellowtom Blush

broughthimroundtotheidea · 28/10/2010 20:55

6+6 and I feel sick!! horray!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

pozzled · 28/10/2010 20:59

YellowTomato Really pleased that everything went well with the scan.

Loving the discussion about how these beans were conceived. Mine is a bit of a mystery tbh, I was pretty knackered and stressed with work last month. I remember thinking 'Well haven't had much private time with DH this month, no chance of getting pg this time!' The first three days I was overdue I was convinced that it didn't mean anything.

cameli · 28/10/2010 21:02

I'm with you moomin156;i've coloured my hair, had a spray tan yesterday although the salon wouldn't do the massage until after 12 weeks and had lots of sex - can't seem to get enough at the moment Blush

misshoohaa · 28/10/2010 21:09

Blimey cameli better not tell my DP that, he'll be Envy big time! We haven't bonked since we found out, I'm too scared! I know its fine, but a bit paranoid...

Good on you though, I need to get some of mine soon I think! Wink

Our conception was pretty ordinary, to be honest I don't remember much other than it was in the front room and I was thinking, I hope no one comes to the door!

I was just lurking on another thread, the due this month one. Lots of birth stories there - fascinating for a first time like me! The thread is here if anyone else wants a cheeky look!
Night all xx

Beesok · 28/10/2010 21:11

MrsBig, Moomin and Cameli I think we are all OK - I agree getting obsessed and stressing is probably worse than a bit of spray tan ;)
I am not doing anything urgently pressing if I don't have to but also won't allow myself to freak out - I'm using self-tan creams on my face re the pedicure I was more concerned about hygiene and infection rather than pregnancy itself - wasn't very clear I know

On this note I had booked a diamond microdermabrasion session ages ago and I asked my GP is it OK he said as long as they are not putting any chemicals then it's fine - I'm doing it!

PS Lucky you Cameli - I am totally off sex Envy

pozzled · 28/10/2010 21:12

cameli I'm Envy never mind my DH! Feeling so crappy that it's the last thing on my mind at the moment.

moomin156 · 28/10/2010 22:19

How is everyone else dealing with their hunger?? i am hungry all the time but just trying to eat normally. Any suggestions for healthy low calorie but satisfying snacks. I am off fruit and yoghurts at the minute, and my body is craving carbs but i really dont want to overdo it, i am eating more carbs than normal but trying to stick to meal times only.
Any suggestions welcome........
