Hi all - we've very nearly exhausted the 1,000 post limit on our previous thread so here is the new one.

Looking forward to continuing to share the ups, downs, symptoms, queries, worries and joy (fingers tightly crossed!)

Mine is definitely not a holiday baby. Mine is an I've-got-tonsilitis-and-the-last-thing-I-feel-like-doing-is-shagging-but-I-might-be-ovulating-so-get-it-over-and-done-with-quickly-please-so-I-can-go-back-to-sleep baby. Nice.Grin Grin Grin

Clarkiee · 28/10/2010 12:31

When I originally booked the appointment I vaguely remember they told me to pick up a pack (which I didn't do Confused). It's mainly a questionaire- because I've had very few medical issues it took me less than 10 minutes to fill in so wish she'd have let me do it there and then.

Loujalou · 28/10/2010 12:34

I was on the first thread but not been on for a while.

Just to say I have had an early scan due to slight spotting and all was ok the baby had a heartbeat and everything. Although, baby was a bit smaller than expected but think that is normal. Anyway I need to go back in 3 weeks to see what is going on. Fingers and toes crossed.

Hello to all!

moomin156 · 28/10/2010 12:36

oh rubberduckies thats such a funny story........:)

Loujalou · 28/10/2010 12:37

Duckies mine was a my mum is downstairs (she is living with us temporarily) lets get it over with shag. Though we had plenty of fun sex on holiday but not in the fertile period.

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 28/10/2010 12:37

8rubbers I hope that theory isn't true then - the one that says the shag that made you directly determines your personality!! Grin You're going to have a baby who's not interested in anything, but at least they'll sleep well!!

CuppaMouldyBatBallsBrothJanice · 28/10/2010 12:39

Great news Loujalou!

moomin156 · 28/10/2010 12:40

Mine will be interested food, alcohol and a little bit of luxury.....very much like its mom

8rubberduckies · 28/10/2010 12:59

No, not the most auspicious start to life Blush, but one thing he/she may be is very determined, cos that's how I felt last month about conceiving!

clench234 · 28/10/2010 13:48

Wow, I've finally caught up on everyone's news. There are sooooooooooo many of us. Congrats to newbies and really sorry to lose some people from this thread. I am feeling rubbish, nauseas all the time except when I'm eating and also gassy, bloated from the pregnacare and dried fruit I'm eating as an attempt to snack healthily.
Have told my mum who was surprisingly positive so that's good. Have got midwife a ppt for next week to discuss tests before my booking in a ppt at around10 weeks. Have decided not to go for anything apart from scan despite being officially old this time. Just eager to find out when I can have a scan. V tempted by getting an early scan but haven't found anything cheaper than 100 around here (nr Chichester) and as I'm planning to not go back to work this time I am watching the pennies.
Will try and keep up a bit more, feel like I've settled into this pregnancy now, not quite so paranoid about something going wrong. Nearly 8 weeks so still a while to go before I can tick off the most dangerous period but fingers crossed.
Take care all, and especially everyone scanning today x

blimeythatwasquick · 28/10/2010 15:34

8rubberduckies you just made me laugh out loud then have to make something up to explain why because I'm at work :o :o

my gp appointment was much the same - "i take it this is good news?" "when was your last period?" "is it your first?" "where do you want to have it?" "give your details to reception" "bye". seriously deflating experience, Call me self-absorbed but a teeny weeny smile or congratulations wouldn't have gone amiss. My lovely pilates teacher made up for it later though by being super-friendly and excited for me :)

Minione · 28/10/2010 15:44

Thanks everyone. I'm seeing the community midwife on Tuesday so shall ask her to push for an earlier appointment. If that is unsuccessful we might go private. I'm annoyed that I was promised something and now its not happening!

IsabelleSE19 · 28/10/2010 15:54

Igglybuff - found your post from many pages ago! I'm in Crystal Palace - how about you?

Symptom news: really sore boobs and weird vivid dreams. And a tiny bit of nausea/stomach ache, but that could be just from eating too much!

Still no sign of a midwife appt or scan and I'm past nine weeks now. Getting impatient. It feels like ages since I had the BFP - starting to think I dreamed it all. Beauty therapist asked yesterday how the baby was, and I just didn't know! How do you know?!

Wobblewatcher · 28/10/2010 16:34

I phoned in sick-my nausea today is awful and I work in the community mainly and have to go to people's homes. I only work 2 days a week and have next weekend as annual leave so hopefully by the time I go back in about 3 weeks I may feel a bit better.

Plus people have been giving me loads more at work than I should be doing and can't face working my arse off tomorrow and making myself more tired.

I very rarely have time off and probably have one of the best sickness records there.

Am sick and tired Grin but happy to be feeling this way.

Beesok · 28/10/2010 16:50

OK this baby better "stick" had to do a lot of explaining on why I need a hospital appt on Monday (at 11:00) and that it should be taken out of my A/L and finally I couldn't take it and said no, I'm entilted to it it's an antenatal appt!! :) The supervisor nearly had a heart attack ;) But she was actually very sweet and I asked her to keep it confidential at least for another few weeks :)

I just got my paperwork from the hospital, I have my booking appt on Nov 19 and a scan on Nov 30! Next week I have the early scan and meeting my private midwife on Friday! This is beginning to feel real now :)

Still off food but not really sick and tired. Going for a nap now actually ;)

IssyStark · 28/10/2010 17:33

Clench you get get a dating scan at LB Healthcare in Whitely (about 30 mins from Chichester) for £55. Here's their price list I've found them very good in the past - all of their sonographers also work in the NHS and have always been able to refer me directly to the EPU at the Princess Anne when I had missed miscarriages.

In other news, I think ms may finally have hit (unless it is a head cold). Typical that my usual evening nausea turns up on the day I ahve evening duty until 7.30. Lets hope I don't get any tricking law enquiries: students please be nice to me!

VeryHungryKatypillar · 28/10/2010 18:17

IsabelleSE19 - I am also having the most bizarre vivid dreams! I thought I must be going mad, so pleased that this might actually a symptomm (all my other symptoms appear to have gone!).

Have booked a stupidly expensive scan but not until 19 Nov when I will be 8 weeks, so ages to wait yet...

So exciting to hear rest of you getting booking appointments and stuff! And sad to see those of you with losses, I know how that feels Sad.

petitech · 28/10/2010 18:23

LDN lady yes I feel that bad and no I never expected the first few weeks to be this hard.
Feel really bad today, my stomach is actually sore from throwing up and have constant acid taste in my mouth :( I can't wait until I stop all this bloody moaning I'm driving myself mad!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 28/10/2010 18:24

Haven't really aught up sorry, my brain is a putrid mush. But I did see some talk of conception circumstances (Good work on the tonsilitus shag 8RDs!). Mine is a I haven't seen you in a week, but my parents are sleeping in the other room so we'd better be quiet (aka stealth shag), baby. Grin

Looking forward to eating something other than toast.

moomin156 · 28/10/2010 18:28

i love this where and how we conceived talk.....keep them coming ladies but i do think 8RD will win for effort LOL

I need fish and chips but really dont think i be bothered to drive 10min to get some Aaaaaarrrrrrggghhhh may just hae to have the healthy piece of salmon i got out of the freezer instead :(

TabithaTwitchet · 28/10/2010 18:39

I have got some spotting this evening - basically blood in cervical mucus when I wipe :(
Anyone else had this? Have got first dr appointment tomorrow, so can at least bring it up then.
Feeling a bit scared though.

broughthimroundtotheidea · 28/10/2010 18:42

Stealth shag!!!! love it!! xx

cep · 28/10/2010 18:45

hi all. hope everyone is ok. not sure if mine is from a holiday quicky while son's asleep or an i'm ovulating soon and we need to do it.

i'm findng myself starving when i get home from work and whether i eat then or not, i'm not all that hungry come evening.

when i got home today i had 1 and 1/2 cheese and onion sandwiches and 2 packs crisps.

still not had a scan appointment through, grrr will just be happy with a date to go.

Beesok · 28/10/2010 18:53

re baby making ours was supposed to be a holiday baby (I even had food poisoning on our trip which I romantically mistook for "early signs") but nope what a downer when I got my period 3 days early on the plane back bleh

So after that it was down to business, thankfully we got it sorted before as hubby put it, "this baby making is going to ruin our sex life!" so there you go!

My friend laughed at me because I kept saying that I want to be pregnant by September and well I am just too used to getting what I want [hgrin]

IssyStark · 28/10/2010 18:55

tabitha I spotted throughout my first trimester with my son. Have you had sex within the past few days, perchance? Or gone swimming or had a bath? Those would do it for me.

Re food (sorry everyone with bad ms). I'm craving cheesey stuff. Pasta with a cheese sauce mopped up with white crusty bread would do me fine right now. Wonder if I can persuade Spouse to stop off at the shops on the way home when he comes to pick me up?
