Here we go ladies, a brand new sparkly thread that should see us all into our 2nd trimester Smile

Many thanks for the warm welcomes Smile

I've felt lots of movements this evening, I was sitting in quite a twisted position which is why I think I felt it so much.

OP posts:

Congrats on your baby boy Beckie

Thaney · 24/11/2010 07:37

Scan today. Yay!

JustKeepSparkling · 24/11/2010 07:43

Good luck Thaney :)

Mine's tomorrow, wishing away the time now.

Been feeling lots of 'outside' movement, esp in the middle of the night Hmm Grin

DS1 is 4 and is desperate to feel something bless him.

Anyone else starving now?!

SaltedPretzels · 24/11/2010 08:40

Morning all Smile

Amazing scan, baby healthy, Sonographer same women each time is lovely. She points out everything takes so many photo's this time we took home 9 last two scans took home 11 pics so have an album already lol

We didn't want to find out the sex and were dreading the question in case we broke but she laughed and then pointed out what baby was doing. Feet crossed, knees apart and hand over bits lol so looks like baby wants to surprise us! Grin

She tried again later but baby turned it's back on us so no chance!

Have to go back for another scan as the placenta is anterior, but hopefully it'll move up soon although I have been warned due to it's position if/when it does it will likely cause bleeding. Still baby is healthy and that's the main thing so it's great news.

So happy we did some Christmas shopping and ended up buying a new car, arrives in 2 weeks lol so GREAT DAY Grin

caramellokoalalover · 24/11/2010 08:46

The scans are coming thick and fast now, hard to keep up! Congrats everyone on all the great news. Good luck to those who have them in the next couple of days.

I think after packing on loads of weight first trimester I might have slowed down a little on the cakes. Just as well as I was starting to get worried that I couldn't stay on that trajectory the whole way!

Grin MuffinMouse, I now have a gorgeous image of Hippy's twins bouncing around together! My next MW appt is at 25wks, and scan's in just over 2 weeks...time is dragging!

Thaney · 24/11/2010 10:55

My scan all went well, everything progressing as it should. We didn't want to know the sex and the sonographer didn't mention it. It's a very wriggly little thing.

Good luck to everyone else with their scans.

JustKeepSparkling · 24/11/2010 11:21

Congrats Thaney, always a relief when everything is doing what it should be :)

JoEW · 24/11/2010 13:21

We seem to be getting a lot of boys in the thread, so pleased for everyone that's had good scans. I can't wait for mine, getting so excited and a little bit nervous. I've been feeling more movements, which is really cool. DH is SO jealous every time I say I can feel something he comes over and puts his hands on me to see if he can feel it. I explain every time that I can only feel it inside but he still tries. Bless him.

Sure you'll feel something soon Hippy with two of them bouncing around in there I'm sure they'll make themselves known! How very cute, hope you're doing ok.

Beckie90 have you spoken to docs about your weight loss? I'd probably get it checked out if I was you. Have you been really sick? That would probably explain it but might be a good idea to get things looked over. Especially at this stage, when you should presumably be putting some weight on. Good luck!

I've just managed to do a fair chunk of my Christmas shopping on the internet, when I should really have been working so am quite pleased with myself. This means I can spend Saturday shopping for nice things for me. Any good suggestions for maternity jeans. I've got a pair from Gap that I really like but I don't like any of the other styles in there. Tried on some in H&M but their sizing is really odd and they mainly seem to stock larger sizes. The ones that felt like they fitted also felt like they would slide down and I wasn't convinced that they would still fit when I got more of a bump. Debenhams stocks a range of the most hideous jeans you have ever seen, I was horrified. Could really do with a second pair as I am currently holding together pre preggers jeans with a couple of hairbands.

crazymiracle · 24/11/2010 14:01

So lovely to read everyone's wonderful news. I had my scan yesterday - everything growing as it should. Babe was awake but curled up - moved a lot and ran away when taking measurements. The sonographer tried to prod him to straighten out - but looks like i've got a stubborn one inside - refused to do what we asked it to - but managed to put up a good pose for the pictures!

JoEW, i bought a pair of jeans from Next. They're boot cut - i normally prefer Slim fit. The fit seemed fine at first, but after wearing a couple of times, they seem to sag a bit. 'm going to look for some better ones this evening. Will keep you posted.

JoEW · 24/11/2010 14:15

Oh yes, I'm after skinny or narrow straight leg so that they can go inside boots.

stuffedmk · 24/11/2010 14:58

Loving all the scan news....all getting very exciting Grin

beckie90 · 24/11/2010 15:00

JoEW no i was abit nauseaus for 1st 11 weeks but been fine since, but still not gained any of the weight i lost.

yes alot of boys, well the man tht did mine said that he thought it was a boy, but its not definate, but obviously there must be something there to see, to say its a boy. with ds1 wen she went down to his legs you could definately see he was a boy lol

caramellokoalalover · 24/11/2010 16:01

JoEW I bought the Topshop Baxters recently and am loving them. Not the cheapest out there but they're very skinny in the leg so good under boots! And no exposing butt crack as the denim comes up high enough at the back.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/11/2010 16:31

Scan this afternoon - all fine but we still don't know what we're having! Baby kept moving and had it's knees and arms in the way. Oh well, another surprise like DS was Grin

Thaney and crazymiracle glad your scans were good too, and good luck for tomorrow JKS Grin

Thaney · 24/11/2010 16:43

JoEW I have two pairs from Next, one narrow that fit in boots and one boot cut. Both are a good colour, fairly cheap and in my normal size.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/11/2010 17:06

I have some Next boot cut, which are in my normal size and they slide down all the time because they are too big on the bum. I have never yet found a pair of maternity jeans that will stay up properly, and I think most people are in the same boat judging by the number of pregnant women you see hoicking up their jeans as they walk along Grin

hippy3 · 24/11/2010 17:54

saw them again today. All good both growing at the same rate amniotic fluid up, they were concerned last week as it was low on the one but seems to have rectified itself.

One was clearly showing me his bits...laughed my head off! Grin.

Your comments made me smile, and feel a little emotional muffin and joe, so thank you. And I might not be able to feel them but it honestly looked like they were fighting each other !! (god help me).

So have decided im going to stop worrying about everything and enjoy everysecond from now on.

The consultant has said I can go back to two weekly scans...
I feel very lucky being able to see them grow and so often. I think I would go quite mad if I couldnt.

Question...... re maternity jeans..I like skinny jeans. I was a size 8, am now obviously not... but havent really out on any weight anywhere but my bump...where would you buy, Sorry if this has been on in above posts..I havent read thru it yet !

Petalouda · 24/11/2010 18:00

JoEW I've been wearing the Next bootcut mat jeans for a couple of months already. They are a bit saggy, but the adjustable sides are helpful. I'm wearing a little scarf as a belt, which really helps.

My sis finally had her baby on monday, so hoping to inherit some new mat clothes soon!

redheadmummy · 24/11/2010 18:06

Hello everyone I have just found this thread and it is great to see so many people due in april. Glad that everyones scans are going well, I had mine last friday and all is well. We didnt find out the sex so a surprise it will be.

I have yet to find any jeans I like so I will have to look into your sugestions :)

Petalouda · 24/11/2010 19:42

Woop! What an exciting day - we've just bought a travel system on ebay - £200 for a quinny buzz with car seat and carry cot! Can't wait to go and collect it now!

Welcome redhead, we've got a really lovely bunch of people here (so lovely, I didn't decamp to the march gang when my dates got changed!).

hippy3 · 24/11/2010 20:55

sorry realised I came in mid jeans thread..keep me informed !!
Welcome redhead. I can only second what Petalouda has said..

Liv77 · 24/11/2010 22:44

i've given up on jeans, i'm sticking to my black maternity tights and stretchy dresses, much more comfy.
I'm currently wearing some thick black M&S maternity tights from my first pregnancy 3 years ago. They're a bit bobbly round the feet but no ladders yet Smile

kittycatcat · 25/11/2010 08:50

Welcome redhead

Bargain petalouda

Glad all the scans are going well. Still 2 weeks and 5 days til mine EnvyI;m 18 weeks today. Still getting growing pains but no movement yet.

x

Cyclebump · 25/11/2010 12:01

I'm in Gap maternity jeans. Oh so comfy! They do stretch out a bit after a couple of wearings but snap right back when washed. Plus they look nice.

LOVE the H&M maternity range as well. Came across it recently. Lovely.

frakkinup · 25/11/2010 14:00

Welcome rehead

Petalouda bargainous indeed! But you might want to buy a new car seat and keep that one as a spare as you can never be sure of its history and a carseat that's been in an accident, no matter how small, shouldn't be used as it might be structurally damaged.

Jeans...I'm in dresses at the moment. I ordered some trousers from mothercare, which my mother gave to my MIL who is posting to me (you following?) and when I go home I have 2 more pairs to pick up, hopefully in a week or so! I will be doing the rounds then trying to find stuff that will take me right the way through...Thank heaven for Air France's huuuuuge baggage allowance!

hippy your scan stories make me smile! Glad they're both fine and being energetic.

Congratulations to everyone else who's had scans - I can't keep up! Still a month to go til mine but I did get a mini-peek on Tuesday so can't complain.
