Here we go ladies, a brand new sparkly thread that should see us all into our 2nd trimester Smile

Many thanks for the warm welcomes Smile

I've felt lots of movements this evening, I was sitting in quite a twisted position which is why I think I felt it so much.

OP posts:

Congrats on the little girl osch and sorry to hear about the placenta. Hope the appointment with the consultant goes well.

Poor you kits and your poor girls :( Sending get well soon vibes your way.

Congrats on the boys hippy and whilst it's not great about the AAA it's definitely good news about TTS. At least they're proactive and keeping an eye on things.

Good site Lisa - I must admit I've cracked and already bought a wrap and a ring sling (in cream, am I crazy?) and can't wait to practice using them! I've threatened to borrow a friend's little one just so I can try them.

Petalouda I've been wondering whether I've been getting B-Hs as I occasionally get twingey, period pain like feelings a couple of times in relatively quick succession but I'm only 19 weeks, so will put that on the list of things to ask the ob/gyn tomorrow.

DH was very good on Saturday - he did almost all the cleaning, and the shopping, and got everything ready which meant that I was in a good mood when people arrived and relaxed/enjoyed myself after being properly rested instead of being a grouchy mare which made him happy!

I've taken the plunge and offered up our girl baby name longlist. Do go and have a look and tell me what you think here!

Cyclebump · 22/11/2010 13:23

Ooh, Osch, that sounds stressful, hope all goes well with the consultant.

Got an email from my boss today saying my appointments shouldn't be on press day (I work on a magazine). I sent back a snotty reply saying that the hospital couldn't move the two that have fallen on press days and that I'd contingency planned for the time and had made every effort to have convenient appointments. He climbed down. Put me in a stonker of a bad mood though. I feel like such an inconvenience to everyone and I resent it. Sigh.

Will be buying one of those pregnancy pillows soon too as I really can't get comfy at night.

Baby has been kicking like mad though and that's cheered me up a lot.

JoEW · 22/11/2010 18:03

Congrats to Hippy and Osch on the boys/girl news! Hope that everything goes well.

Also, Muffin don't worry about your weight. I haven't dared get on the scales for a few weeks now. It's not like we can go on a diet and I've decided that as long as I try to get some regular excercise and don't eat too much chocolate EVERY day that's about as good as I'm going to get. Off swimming tonight, part of the new regime. Hadn't been to a public swimming baths in years, till last week. Memories came flooding back to me as I dropped a sock in a pool of water, trying to get changed in the tiny cubicle. Then I got told off for being in the school swimming lessons lane. So much to learn!

Cycle that's outrageous that your boss sent that email. And on email too. Well done for having a pop back, it's not on at all. Presumably he has no idea that when you book these apppointments they don't exactly say, "well, when's good for you, dear?". Don't let him give you any more crap and save the email too. Grr. I do get so cross about these things. You're not an inconvenience, someone has to have babies and it is completely acceptable to be female and pregnant at work.

Rant over!

JoEW · 22/11/2010 18:08

...and Frakkinup your names are lovely. I can't beieve you have so many! I have one girl's name that I like and one boy's.

hippy3 · 22/11/2010 18:21

osch dont worry to much...x I have had nothing but scary news since I found out I was pregnant... so am choosing to ignore it and as long as I feel ok and the babies are fine im going with my instincts. I hope everything works out for you.x Smile

cyclebump your boss sounds like an ass.....x you are entitled to take your appintments when u need to..

Will keep u updated... what point did anyone start feeling movement? im desperate for it now..!
Also is anyone else totally FREEZING !

kittycatcat · 22/11/2010 19:01

Congrats osch hope the appt goes well.
cycle ditto joew grrr

lucielooo · 22/11/2010 21:05

Congratulations to everyone that's had scans so far there's quite a few now! We had ours this afternoon and it's another one for the blue team! I'd suspected a boy based my previously mentioned hairy hobbit feet (even though I know the old wives tales are rubbish really! :)

It was wonderful to see a lovely healthy baby in there - even if it was a very sleepy one that didn't want to wake up and move despite lots of prodding and jumping about (hope he sleeps like that once he's here!)

Osch, good luck with your consultants appointment, hopefully he will have good news for you.

MuffinMouse · 22/11/2010 21:56

Thanks JoEW I was starting to feel a bit abnormal. I did have a look on another forum site and I've decided that I'm probably the upper end of normal. Seeing the consultant this week, so as long as it's not g. diabetes, then I'll just keep on with my zumba and swimming, and hope it doesn't rise quite so rapidly for the rest of the pg.

Congrats everyone on your good news!

Good luck Osch.

JustKeepSparkling · 23/11/2010 05:58

Morning DS2 got me up at 4.30, been putting him back to bed and trying to 'rest' since then Hmm

Muffin - i've put on loads with each pg, thankfully managed to lose it all after DS2 in time for my brother's wedding. Although i'd like not to put too much on i'm trying to stay relaxed - at least i know i can lose it afterwards (eventually!).

So, i was 8,12 when i got pg (slightly over my ideal target of 8,7), think i am now 9,8/9,9 so have put on 10 or 11lbs. I have what i think is a very large bump, esp compared to how i was with DS1 but i suppose that's inevitable the more kids you have.

So, put on 3 stone with DS1, lost 2 by the time he was 1 & i got pg again. put on another 3 with DS2 (so now 4 to lose!), had only lost 1 in 6 months so was tough on myself and lost the other 3 in a year.

So what will be will be i guess...!

For the first time this morning i could feel some movement from the outside that corresponded with movements on the inside IYKWIM? was lovely :) (shame it was at 5am...)

frakkinup · 23/11/2010 06:10

Awww that's lovely jks - the movements, nit the early waking!

I've been up for ages and waiting for my ob/gym appt for an hour...typical. Running 40mins late by 10am.

Jo having lots of names we like and can't agree on is a huge problem! We have 2 that we both love for boys so that makes it simple (so far)!

SaltedPretzels · 23/11/2010 08:54

GOOOOOOOOD MORNING ALL Grin

Really excited, scan day Grin

1.40pm, part nerves part excitement, tummy rumbles, butterflies, kicks and giddy heartbeats, hardly slept and yet feel wonderful!

So far, we both remain resolute on not finding out the sex, let's see what the answer is when the question comes lol.

I love how the stats now show the sex, wonder who's in front team blue or pink?

Well off to get ready Grin

frakkinup · 23/11/2010 08:57

So I had a little mini-scan today because the handheld Doppler wasn't working so she did the heart-rate monitoring on the u/s machine Grin Could have found out the sex but didn't want to without DH there. Apparently I have an anterior placenta which explains why I only feel movement to one side or the other but other than that it's all fine....

frakkinup · 23/11/2010 08:57

Ooooh good luck with your scan salted

bettywobble · 23/11/2010 10:08

Hi! I just found this! I'm bw, I'm 30, have a 7yr old boy, 21 weeks preg with this little one, from scottish borders, and still got a week to go til my scan!!!

kittycatcat · 23/11/2010 10:13

lucieloo congrats on your iccle son :)

Welcome Bettywobble :) and congrats!

Good luck with your scan salted report back.

SaltedPretzels · 23/11/2010 11:24

Hippy Freezing? No boiling yes, had to stand at the front door in a towel after getting out of luke warm shower this morning otherwise I may have passed out. I live in Cumbria so it's pretty chilly here most days so maybe I'm just used to the cold so now I have central heating I feel hotter?! That's my excuse anyway lol

Frakk nice one on the mini scan x

Bettywobble Hi, congrats, where abouts are you?

Right now really have to go or I'll be late or worse have to do the car journey with a full bladder lol (no sneezing or gush)! Grin x

beckie90 · 23/11/2010 12:08

hi ladies congratulations to everyone with there scans.
ive got mine today at 2 0 clock absoloutly nervous as anything.posative its another little boy though.
on the topic of weight my pre pregnancy weight was over 8 and half stone some weeks nearing to 9 stone, so now at nearly 20 weeks pregnant im 8 stone. with my son at this point id put a stone on. is this just me or anyone else not gaining weight?

Cyclebump · 23/11/2010 12:12

Looks like my mum's coming with me for the repeat scan, she's WAY excited. My dad came to the dating one and DP said he wanted her to see one bless him.

Is so exciting seeing everyone coming back with good news and the occasional team update!

Was a bit annoyed to have to have another scan but feel very lucky to see the baby agin so soon!

beckie90 · 23/11/2010 15:28

well had the scan everythings ok which im soo happy sbout and have a very lively baby. and also its a little boy :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/11/2010 15:50

Hi everyone - haven't got round to posting on this 'new' thread yet!

Very exciting that everyone is having scans now and feeling movements etc Grin

I had my 20 week scan 2 weeks ago, all fine but the sonographer couldn't really get a good look at the baby's heart so we have another scan tomorrow! Hoping we can find out the sex, she said last time that she thought it was a girl, but we will see. I am carrying exactly the same as I did with DS so I'm thinking that it is another boy.

Not really had an energy burst, although I feel a lot better than I did 6 weeks or so ago. I have been able to stop having naps in the afternoon which is a bonus :)

I've gained about 5lbs so far, which isn't bad for 22 weeks but I was pretty overweight to start with so I'm keen not to pile on too much otherwise I shall be like a beached whale Grin

Cyclebump · 23/11/2010 15:50

Another for the blue team!

MuffinMouse · 23/11/2010 18:13

Congratulations beckie90

JKS and Alibaba that's good to hear.

Welcome BettyWobble

What's your news Salted??

How frequent are everyone's antenatals at the moment? My last was 5 weeks ago and I haven't had my scan yet. Can't wait. Grin

hippy3 · 23/11/2010 18:33

talking of weight gain..I gained a stone in 11 weeks.....!!!Blush I was just over 9 st then. Now I am just over 17 weeks god only knows what i weigh!!!! Mind u they did say cause its two I will be bigger.... no neat bump for me . No hiding it any more...also I dont think I ahve felt anything yet....? although evrytime ive been scanned they are jumping around like loons....?? Wonder why this is.

Have another scan tomorrow.... so will ask them then...!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/11/2010 19:59

Muffin I haven't got another midwife app. until I'm 28 weeks, although I do have my first consultant appointment in a fortnight.
I was supposed to see the midwife at 16 weeks but I never got round to making the appointment, they don't do bloods at that one anyway so it isn't important.

hippy - you really don't need to worry about your weight - you are carrying two babies! It will come off afterwards when you are like a headless chicken keeping up with them :)
I think babies move all the time but you just don't feel it. I am feeling a lot of movement now (I'm 22+3) but when I was scanned I wasn't feeling anything at that moment and the baby was jumping away on screen :)

MuffinMouse · 23/11/2010 20:17

Ooo Hippy - maybe they are just delighted to have each other there. Not just got external stimuli but each other! You made me think that they were 'saying' "Hey you", "Yeah hey you!" to each other. "Watch me flip over", "Wow dude!"
