The old thread was getting quite full so I took the liberty of starting a new one, I hope nobody minds! I thought I'd keep in with our glowing and growing theme (I'm not very creative, sorry).

Current totals -- 18 girls, 16 boys, 10 declared surprises...

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 07/10/2010 00:43

By the way, having established that either Wanderingsheep or zero is Lily Allen and that wigglesrock is Penelope Cruz, does anyone want to come clean now and admit that she is Sophie Dahl?

tabbycat fits the profile on age, but I don't think Sophie's mentioned twins...

HighlandlassinLondonshire · 07/10/2010 08:54

At last I have something in common with Penelope Cruz, apart from natural acting talent and amazing hair..a 20 week odd baby bump!!! Haha

:) :) :) :)

HighlandlassinLondonshire · 07/10/2010 08:55

Woooohoooo 20 weeks today x

Deliaskis · 07/10/2010 09:02

Thanks for nice reassurance re GTT stuff, I got myself a bit wound up yesterday but am feeling better this morning.

Dx

EauRouge · 07/10/2010 09:04

Well I'm only 5'4" so I think that rules me out of being Sophie Dahl Grin

Congrats highlandlass , halfway there!

Wanderingsheep · 07/10/2010 09:23

Zero must be Lily Allen as according to Wiki, Lily Allen is 25 so I'm too old at 27. And she's having her first child, like Zero!

Hope everyone has a good day today! Scan day for me, squeeeeal!

tabby has been very quiet for ages, so maybe she is Sophie Dahl having her busy model/cook etc life Hmm

I'm adding my TTP result:

I thought Dannii Minogue looked very good on x factor for only about 2 or 3 months post birth, but then did notice she specialised in loose in the tum outfits - so in my mind she's got a really wobbly big tum still and is only human like the rest of us.

I'm going to stick to working my tiny hours until half term. Tbh next week I've got 3 different hospital appointments on different days at school time so will only be in once next week, so really I only have the following week in school, and I want to use that as a decider as to whether I'll cope or not on my own after half term (I currently have the luxury of a supply with me in all my lessons). Lots to think about Hmm

knitta I love how you had a dream which decided your babies name. Reminds me of how John Lennon had the name of the beatles through a dream Wink

HighlandlassinLondonshire · 07/10/2010 10:55

Just had to share this...

I've been busted by the window cleaner dancing around the kitchen to old school Kylie on the radio, whist singing into the washing up brush....!!! Blush

Could someone describe what Braxton Hicks contractions feel like? I've been feeling a "tight" sensation in my lower abdomen since about 16 weeks and it's only now occurred to me that they could be BH. There's a bit of pressure and it feels like something is being squeezed, it's very infrequent and doesn't last very long.

ledkr · 07/10/2010 11:34

yes ex pat thts sounds like it. I have been getting a few lately.Non painfull just tightenings.
My toilet roll thing was 8 but was good old aldi cheapo so may be bit less if posh one.
Kind of nice to know you are in rangewith the others on here in the toilet roll stakes.
Had h burn so bad last night i was sick. Felt fine after tho. Am getting abit panicly now re getting stuff up together. I just feel so disorganised and dh has 4 days off but has to attend court tomorrow and did f all yeaterday so was dwetermined to motivate him today and he has just moved! After checking te footy scores and eating a leisurly breakie. DD out of school at 3 and then ballet run the day is so short.I just want to start getting the baby stuff i have gathered away but the room needs a paint first.Gosh what a rant.sorry Blush feel beter now going to start moving stuff.

wigglesrock · 07/10/2010 11:40

Think that may be BH, but am not sure I get a tightening in my upper bump every now and then!!!

Went to dentist this morning, was brushing my teeth last week and a filling just fell out. Had been dreading it as not a dentist person (is anyone?) but was brillant. He would only do a patch/temporary filling, so no injections, drilling, picking etc, and he also threw in a clean. I don't usually get my teeth cleaned by the dentist as (its too expensive} it freaks me out.

By the way meant to ask have told dds the baby names, if only to get rid of some of their suggestions Hmm dh isn't overly keen on boys name but he is now hearing it from all 3 of us, am I being a bit mean???

angels1 · 07/10/2010 11:54

wiggles I remember when my sister was born (she's 10 yrs younger than me) my mum and dad gave me the proud job of choosing her middle name - I wouldn't recommend this to anyone lol. I was desperate to have her middle name as 'kylie' (as in minogue - I was a big fan at the time when she was in neighbours etc Blush ). Oddly this request got ignored Hmm. I ended out choosing 'April' (after a character in teenage mutant hero turtles!) - my mum and dad always tell people her middle name is april is she was born on the last day of april, but I know the real truth Grin

btw anyone getting dead/pins and needles in their hands/arms at night? I've been woken several times over past few nights with this. Thought it was just perhaps I was lying funny but read in my pg book it's a common thing - haven't heard anyone else mentioning it though...

wigglesrock · 07/10/2010 12:14

Angels my almost 3 year old is just making up names ie shawama, dalston Confused and my 5 year old is insisting on Maxi (ie dress, pad, priest!!). I am going to use my dads or sisters name as middle name.

I have pins and needles in my hands at night, with dd1 I suffered from carpal tunnel and I have a funny feeling it started like this but I didn't have it with dd2 so am hoping it just RSI from MNetting - ps can I put in a claim for that Grin

Ledkr am starting to slightly panic that I have nothing done/in. DD2 birthday and half term is at end of Oct so will have nothing done then, I always seem to lose Nov and Dec in a rush of nativity plays, school fairs, Christmas shopping, nights out, Santa visits etc. If Mr Wiggles says "it'll be sorted out/it'll be ok" one more time, this one will definitely be the last child of his!!!

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 07/10/2010 12:45

Last time DS wanted to name DD, variously, Ladder, Chair, Cow, Mummy(!) or Lesley. In fact he got very attached to Lesley and burst into tears when I told him she was not going to be called that.

(Me: But WHY do you want us to call her Lesley, DS?
Him: Because that's her NAAAAAME !)

This time he agrees with me Grin. And DD doesn't really understand that you have to name babies, so doesn't seem to have an opinion.

debka · 07/10/2010 12:49

Grin at wigglesrock, love your 3yr old names!

angels I get the pins and needles in my hands thing all the time too. I also had carpal tunnel with DD, but only in the last few weeks (thank God, it was awful).

Am too scared to do toilet paper thing in case I have DOUBLE the number of sheets that you thin lizzies have!!

americanexpat · 07/10/2010 13:32

angels - I sometimes get tingly hands even when not pregnant and traced it to the position I keep my hands in at work (I type a lot). Now that I keep them in a mostly neutral position (wrists straight and not flexed), it's gone away. I get it in my legs if I sit too long, especially if I have my legs crossed.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 07/10/2010 14:13

I once knew a little boy that lived not far from me as a child whose name was 'Boy' Hmm, seriously, that was his name. Now that's either very unimaginative parents or a toddler was involved in naming him.

I just had an embarrassing moment in Boots, I ended up doubled over at the till with ligament pain, much to other people's alarm. Luckily my OH was with me, it bought tears to my eyes, ouch! Feel like I've just grown another 5 sheets of toilet roll.... Confused

MummyGeorgie · 07/10/2010 14:56

Hi,

I'm fairly new to mumsnet and wondered if I could join your thread? I have a due date of between 28th Feb-2nd March (NHS said one thing and private said another)

I've joined March anti-natal and have been reading this one too so I was hoping it wasn't taboo to join both?

Wanderingsheep · 07/10/2010 15:03

Hello!

Welcome to MN MummyGeorgie, and welcome to Feb Antenatal! Of course you can join both but we'll be your favourite Wink we've got a few slebs on this thread y'know! Grin

Well I've just got back from my scan and we're having a.... ...GIRL! Absolutely over the moon, all looked well. I'm going to have to get used to referring to DD as DD1! Grin

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 07/10/2010 16:02

Welcome MummyGeorgie, I'll put you down for 28 Feb so you don't skew my nice neat statistics like some people do... Grin

Congratulations Wanderingsheep!

Thank you! Grin

Prof, your DS sounds so cute! DD came up with the name Pughty for a boy Hmm good job it's a girl as we may well have gone with it if the arguments about boys names were anything to go by! Either that or 'Boy' like the person that Needstosleep knows!

Welcome MummyGeorgie...! I was given 3 dates..14th, 26 and now the 24th..! Those of us towards the end of Feb may well end up popping in March anyway!

Congrats Wanderingsheep, brilliant news..! :)

Hi all.Got loads done it must have been the rant.
moved rest of stuff out of little room into dd new room and chucked a load of junk out. Good feeing eh?
Is anyone else finding it really hard/tiring to walk far. I only walked to dd school about 10 mins and felt terrible.Breathless and waddly and achey in belly. Yes need to sleep i am getting that too. So embarrassing as everyone looks at you but you really cant hide it can you? Its like stitch but low down on the side of my abdomen.
I worry sometimes as it still seems early days and a long way to go yet.
