The old thread was getting quite full so I took the liberty of starting a new one, I hope nobody minds! I thought I'd keep in with our glowing and growing theme (I'm not very creative, sorry).

Ledkr Envy at you getting so much done. I agree nothing better than the feeling of chucking recycling stuff!! I am also finding it a huge effort getting up at our stairs, why I thought a tall townhouse was a good idea I don't know!! I have been having stretchy/ligament pains for ages but funny enough seem to have subsided although getting so much movement Smile

Wandering great news, I have 2 girls, it's a lot of fun and noise!!!

Wanderingsheep · 07/10/2010 17:38

Wiggles, I'm looking forward to the hormonal tantrums when they're teenagers and the fighting over clothes, although a DS may well have stolen DD's clothes! Grin

yes stairs are difficult i aggree. I have attic conversion so v hard in this hosue too. I try to remember everything i need before coming down in the morning haha.
My lig pain wnet off for a bit too but its annoying me now. My baby seems to get hiccups about 4 times a day now she must be fed up with it.
Loving getting the junk gone. Dh wants to keep everything,im saying "do you actually need those negatives? Will you ever get them printed?"so annoying, ugly science museum clock-"my uncle bought me that"like i care, where shall we put it,in our tastefully decorated lounge maybe? grrr haha

NeedToSleepZZZ · 07/10/2010 17:42

fantastic news wanderingsheep, congratulations!

Prof You are so quick with the stats, you amaze me! Thank you.

Welcome mummygeorgie, I only joined recently and everyone here is great so I'm sure this will be your favourite.
We're doing a, ahem, very scientific bit of research into the size of our bumps so just in case you haven't read the previous posts we have TOILET PAPER TUESDAY. This just involves recording how many sheets of loo roll you are at your widest part of your bump each Tuesday. It's not obligatory and there are no reported side effects Wink

ledkr I never know what to do with myself when the pain hits, is it best to walk around to keep the ligament moving or should you rest? It really takes your breath away sometimes doesn't it?

ledkr · 07/10/2010 17:45

wandering are you mad? haha my 3 ds used to fight constantly and then accused me of refereeing wrongly. They called my youngest "the blonde poof" for years still do actually and they are in their 20's
Hoping to avoid the dd fights as there is an 8 yr age gap.i am hoping they can still be close tho.

ledkr · 07/10/2010 17:50

need to sleep-i cant do anything but double over when it hits me.I got it in bed last night and could hardly turn over. I seem to grunt and groan a lot these days.
My fiesty spirit is back.DH has booked to go to the football with his mates on his birthday in Nov.I was abit put out cos we always so something together. My birthday is next saturday so i have just arranged a massive girly curry :o

wigglesrock · 07/10/2010 18:08

wandering I hate to break it to you but my dds 5 & 2 are already having hormonal tantrums!! apparently dd1 was not washing the dolls hair right in the bath tonight, cue shouting, tugging and the sly nip or ten, dd2 is very particular where her babies are concerned, whereas dd1 couldn't care!!

EauRouge · 07/10/2010 18:19

I've found that making slow movements helps with ligament pain, I've been getting up and walking around in slow motion Grin but it's definitely helped. DH got all huffy until I agreed to go and see the MW but I will just get put on a waiting list for physio, by which time I will be fine.

tadjennyp · 07/10/2010 18:25

My 4 and 3 year old are like that - especially when it comes to building tracks or towers! It must be the weather at the moment, I think!

zerominuszero · 07/10/2010 18:33

I suppose I should end any remaining doubt right now and come out as not lily Allen. Sorry for the disappointment but I'm a mere teacher like a lot of other mn's it seems. I'm not much of a fan of her either although dh quite likes her.

Then again, I suppose if I was her I might not admit it anyway. Has she said which sex she's having? I don't know mine yet, having not had the scan (soon, soon, I'm counting off the days...)

ledkr · 07/10/2010 18:37

already seeing physio for spd i may mention it. Yeah i have to get up slowly and get out of pool slowly too or that sets it off.Feel like a right fool tho.
My dh doesnt bat an eyelid s think yourself lucky hes huffy.
Am struggling with baby names just wrote a list but dont really like any of them.
Does anyone find the heart burn comes on after luch and goes on into the evening

wigglesrock · 07/10/2010 18:38

Ssh zero before you know it people will start doubting my Penelope Cruzness!! And I'm just about to start Javier's dinner, pie and chips it is love, on its way now Grin

NeedToSleepZZZ · 07/10/2010 19:23

oooh javier.... i'd quite like him for dinner, sorry penelope!

thank you for advice re ligament pain, it does feel as if i need to move gently after the initial 'aaargh!!!', just to stretch things out.

am very disappointed that zero claims not to be lily allen but then, she said she wouldn't admit it anyway, hmm, maybe a bluff! Grin

zerominuszero · 07/10/2010 19:39

You'll have to ask me a question that only someone who isn't Lily would know the answer to...er...

Wanderingsheep · 07/10/2010 19:40

Sad you've really disappointed me Zero. I feel like I'm 18 again and my mum has just told me that there's no Santa! Grin

Wiggles, was I being a bit too naive with teenage tantrums? Damn!

I'm sure Javier loves pie and chips for tea!

Ledkr, I meant to say - your two girls will probably still be close despite the age gap! There are 9 and a half years between my sister and I and we're very close. Never had any arguments or falling outs and she's always looked after me - babysat if my parents had to go out, taken me for days out shopping etc. And I suppose in some ways it might be easier not to fight as we never had to argue over toys (by the time I was playing she was well over toys) and we've never been the same size to argue over clothes etc, although I guess different age gaps have different pros and cons!

OP posts:
ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 07/10/2010 20:50

There are nine years before my nieces, and they are very sweet together. In some ways I think the larger age gap means there's less scope for friction and flashpoints between them as they have different priorities and are never really competing directly.

tadjennyp · 07/10/2010 21:50

Yes, there are 19 months between my first two and they squabble a lot over toys!

earlgreyismynectar · 07/10/2010 23:35

Hello ladies (slebs included, how exciting!) Thanks for your feedback on Ina May Gaskin & the idea of sexual stimulation as a form of pain relief!! I found the other mumsnet thread on the subject - v funny. I too would have said the same during the birth of DD1, in fact I distinctly remember telling DP to f* off Shock it was soon forgotten. Well true, there is a slew of stuff on net about Ina May & I've ordered her book Spiritual Midwifery from Amazon. I've ordered another book by Sheila Kitzinger who seems to advocate similar views. Oh and discovered an entire movement - film, book, website called Orgasmic Birth! I've been watching a few too many births on YouTube, my current fascination. My birth with DD wasn't bad but support & understanding of what I was experiencing was lacking so I'm looking into hiring a Doula this time. Anyone else considering this? I want this birth experience to be as much the way I want it as possible since it is most certainly my last!

Congrats on new scan results!! If someone is making a Toilet Paper Tuesday table (or a TPTT!) could I ask you to please add me at 7.5?! I'm on an iPhone and technically inept. Thanks for the other updated table Prof! You're GOOD!!

angels1 · 08/10/2010 07:36

Another vote for big age gap between siblings being good ledkr. My sister and I also have 9.5 years apart (same as wandering sheep) and we have always got on great. No massive arguments and always played well together (Mum always joked I used to be like a 3rd parent to her ans m and d had got older and more lax in their parenting my then and I wasn't going to let her get away with stuff I couldn't do when I was younger Shock ). The only annoying thing was when she was little I'd get told off all the time for everything as she was 'too young to understand' (despite the fact she'd be grinning at me in the corner with a clever glint in the eye of what she always got away with)....I'm not bitter . Agree entirely with tadjennyp logic on the situation about not competing against each other and havign different interests/toys etc. Plus, it's just as well my sister and I have such a big gap - she's the brainy and pretty one currently studying at cambridge whereas I'm just a person of (said like winnie the pooh) very little brain.

earlgrey felt a bit Shock Blush Wink Hmm at the idea of orgasmic birth!! I keep trying to make myself watch births on you tube to get used to the thing but so far have only managed to watch one through hands over face...I hope this queasy ostrich mentality goes away soon!

byronicheroine · 08/10/2010 08:29

Morning all, how glad are you that it's friday?
Also, I finally have a visitor-free house so I get a weekend to properly relax. You know how even the best, easiest house guests still don't allow you that 'put the kettle on and sit down with a biscuit' free time?

Deliaskis · 08/10/2010 09:33

Hoorah for Friday! I'm actually feeling great this morning due to having had a proper night's sleep for the first time in a week. Finally found a position that is comfortable and slept like a log (not like a baby, as babies apparently don't sleep all night and I did!). The previous nights have been more like a baby, waking up every hour or so and grizzling around for a bit!

Nearly 21 weeks and feeling like it's going to become a countdown soon rather than a count up.

Hope all are feeling OK today, and thanks for bearing with me when I was being irrational on Wednesday Blush.

D

Deliaskis · 08/10/2010 09:38

Just LOL reading my last post (everything's great!) versus my ones earlier this week (it's all dooooooomed!). Me hormonal, much...? Blush

Thought I had already added myself to this...

I've bought the other Ina May book, childbirth something? no the spiritual midwifery, anybody read it?

Thanks Prof for the stats!

Been laughin at Javier eating pie and chips, I'm sure it's his staple diet Smile

Anybody else with an insatiable sweet tooth? (wish i could say an instatiable libido..Sad)

Thanks for all the good wishes, and I do think it's a good story to be able to say that you chose your own name before you were born Smile, in my dream he had to chose between Pedro and Pablo (which by the way are the names they used in the spanish version of the flintstones Grin) and he chose Pablo, so so far that might be it, although we also like Lorenzo, but do I let an unborn baby decide or not?...

Happy Friday!

angels1 · 08/10/2010 11:04

delia so glad you're having a better day Grin . Sleep makes such a difference - not a good nights sleep = angels feels terrible, good night sleep = angels feels much better Wink

knitta Pablo is such a lovely name - very unusual (never considered it). Reminds me of picasso (wasn't he a pablo?). My chosen boys name reminds me of Mr. Bean Grin (I'm sort of giving away my secret chosen boys name there arn't I?!), but that's OK as I like Mr Bean Grin .

Anyone have their inbuilt heating system on max yet? I just walked to the local post office and back and got quite yuckily sweaty. Not sure if this is just me Blush or if I can blame it on pregnancy. I'm pretty certain I don't get overheated so easily usually. Made me pity those heavily pg in a hot summer/country.

not heard from smf in ages - hope she's OK Hmm
