Hi all, just back from mw, 3/5th engaged and though has grown, hasn't by much. She was surprised to see me without a newborn - booked in for a stretch and sweep next thurs :(

I now have "fed up" officially written on my notes Blush

39+5

DillyDora · 30/09/2010 15:28

Aw seashells sorry lovely...

nymphadora · 30/09/2010 15:31

Lol seashells at fed up!

Think my Cons is v keen for dh to take responsibility for baby. Dh is still a bit scared of meeting her in theatre in case she makes him have the snip at the same time!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 30/09/2010 15:41

:) mw has a sense of humour. Which is good as I'm pretty tearful after an early start today!

Your cons sounds like she'll keep your dh on his toes nymph!!

KSal · 30/09/2010 16:08

Hi all... sorry for the radio silence.

Orin Peter was born at 37+2 on the 24th (last friday), normal delivery following induction. He was another one with their cord around their neck.. was a scary time with the decelerations on the monitor but all good in the end.

I was induced using the synotcinon drip and it was rather too effective - my labour is officially timed at 20 minutes... v painful and intense but mercifully short!

he weighed in at 6lb 15oz and had only dropped 2 oz at the 5 day check yesterday, so v pleased with that.

congrats to all the others.. was i first in the end? I lost track :)

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 30/09/2010 16:15

Congratulations Ksal! Glad you are both well. 20'minutes-goodness Shock

RooBear · 30/09/2010 16:16

congratulations KSal! think you tied with meansbeans on the date!

fingers crossed thinks start to speed up for you seashells

Its all getting very exciting ladies!

nymphadora · 30/09/2010 16:45

seashells that's good , I would rather have someone human to deal with

ksal Congrats!!! What was the induction for? I can't remember if you said. V quick labour anyway and he was a decent size for 37 weeks

tiredfeet · 30/09/2010 16:55

congratulations ksal, wonderful news!! and wow at the short labour Shock

seashells I love that you have fed up written on your notes, think I would like it written on my notes in big fat felt pen!

I waited in all morning for a delivery only to ring and discover the delivery driver was on his way back to the depot claiming he had attempted delivery and there was no one in. I am so annoyed. Our house is a bit hard to find and I reckon he just gave up. They had my phone number I don't get why they dont just ring arrggghh!

still, I have had a more chilled out afternoon, been swimming and treated myself to a facial. I have a hairdresser appointment booked for tomorrow and a pedicure for next Friday. It was DH's suggestion and it really has made me feel a lot better to have a few treats booked in. I might have to book some more in if I go overdue, the salon seemed fine about the fact I might have to cancel if things start happening...

Hermya321 · 30/09/2010 17:28

Seashells I'm sorry, but I had to LOL at the 'fed up' on your notes.

TF That is really annoying! My handyman eventually did come round, only about two hours late.

Xav Hello there!!

Ksal Congrats on Orin, cool name btw!!

36+3.

SilverSky · 30/09/2010 17:41

Lovely news ksal!!!

My delivery arrived just before 4pm and now I am mega bored.

moonstorm · 30/09/2010 18:56

Congratulations Ksal!!

Well so far, no more twinges, no more cramps and no show Angry. I want to get on with things now!!! Don't want to get anywhere near discussion of another cs!

Hello to all of the November thread people who are potentially lurking at the moment (maybe I'm getting overly excited about how things are hotting up on the thread!!

October tomorrow - bring on the babies Grin

Hope you are getting lots of cuddles Floozie and you can stop expressing and start bfing soon. (And you get more sleep)

I've been annoyed with delivery companies this week - only deliver when everyone is at work and not at weekends and won't leave it as it needs signing for. (Ok I'm not working, but I had to go out with ds and couldn't wait in).

moonstorm · 30/09/2010 18:57

Oh 38 weeks

AbFabT · 30/09/2010 21:56

Congratulations, KSal. Do we get a photo?
Hope your family are all well.

Sorry lots of you are still struggling with sleep and feeling comfortable. Is anyone doing the hypnobirthing thing? I am, it may help relax you - worth a try. You get a CD and a book, the CD is very calming. I've also been swimming a lot, and maybe that tires me out nicely, as I sleep well at night. I'm not paying for October though, as you pay monthly and I'm due on the 4th, so not worth it, so today was my last swim for a while. I suppose I could go to the council pool if I really miss it, but I think I may just put my feet up!

I was waiting in since Monday for a delivery (no given date except 'between three and five days'), and I didn't want to miss it and have to arrange re-delivery. Arrived this morning - was awakened by a big knock on the door at 7.30! I was fast asleep!

tf, all that pampering sounds lovely! :) Enjoy!
I've got reflexology tomorrow, I love it!

39+3. Think I am going to be late, I've no twinges, nothing. Baby wriggling well though, so I am happy.

Hermya321 · 30/09/2010 22:34

I love my sister, but sometimes shes a tad insensitive. I've just been on the phone to her arranging to meet up with her and we got to the question about the bump and I got 'are you fat yet?', I was like 'I'm pregnant'. Then she said 'No are you fat yet?', 'No I'm pregnant and I have a bump, I'm not fat'.

Every single sodding time I speak with her I get 'are you fat yet?' No I'm not fat, I'm nine months pregnant and I have a human being living inside of me.

Meanwhile LO has a new trick, he's started to push up with his feet and at the same time push down with his head on to my cervix. Its a bit eye watering to say the least.

Abfab what did you get delivered?

Vikks · 01/10/2010 01:07

It's October!!!!
A few of us jumped the gun but now the rest of us can join in!
10/10 babies here we come! Grin Grin Grin

Who'll be the first 10/10?

KSal Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little boy, love the name too.

Hermya My eyes are watering just thinking about your LO 'new trick'. Shock Wink

nymphadora · 01/10/2010 08:04

hermya my baby seems to be leaving my cervix alone now but had a phase for kicking it and it really hurt so sympathy. They now push their bottom as far out of my stomach as they can giving me a round lump just above my belly button

Better sleep , woke a couple of times & went back , awake properly at 6 but still in bed. Dd2 just brought my breakfast & dh is taking them to school so I can stay here a while

Xavielli · 01/10/2010 08:25

Happy October ladies! So nice to wake up and see the due date on the calendar! Slept like a log last night, so feeling rather chipper this morning.

Hermya My little monster is thankfully alternating between the two. It seems to like stretching upwards on the morning school run and down on the afternoon - cue me sitting on every wall/bench/pot plant available at 3pm as it feels like 'everything' is going to fall out - pleasant!

Hi Dilly everything is really good actually thanks for asking! All the problems with DP seem to have worked themselves out. We had a big blow out mid June and have been talking like human beings ever since. He is even excited about having this baby and has started trying to interfere :o He does go slightly wild around the eyes every time he thinks about labour. I haven't reached that point yet, I'm still in the 'Oh I had a really positive experience the last two times, it'll be fine' stage which is where I was when my waters broke with DC2 then I had my panic! I'm getting rather excited about the whole event!

Congrats KSal wonderful name!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 01/10/2010 08:52

I'm in the midst of a real autumnal storm- wild and wet!!

Yesterday:

Pineapple - tick
Brisk walk - tick
Jumping up and down with Ds - tick
Went out without my phone - tick
Raspberry leaf capsules - tick
Nipple tweak - tick Blush
takeaway balti - tick
Horrendous weather with childcare help 1.5hrs away - tick

Result - no baby, just an exhausted dog, a horny dh ( he thinks nipple stumble the best advice ever given by the mw and Nct Hmm Grin ) and indigestion at 1.30 last night!!

Bump wins- LO will be here in her own time Grin

Glad to hear everything is better with your dp xav :)

39+6 allegedly Grin

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 01/10/2010 09:00

Stumble????? That would be stimulation

iPhones/ great but make you appear illiterate Grin

Elsa123 · 01/10/2010 09:39

Morning all I'm 38+1 and saw the midwife on Tues and the baby was 3/5 engaged. She said that meant it was up to its ears in my pelvis Grin.

Congratulations Loobyboo and KSal on the births of Phineas Fred and Orin Peter respectively. How exciting for you and welcome to the world boys!

I had another night of those bad pains I was getting last week. The mw reckons they are practise contrations. Well if they are then they're really painful!

I hope everyone enjoys their Fridays. x x

Hermya321 · 01/10/2010 10:45

Morning all!!

I hope you're all well, I went swimming this morning. I think I'm going to have to take a nap to get over it though Grin. It was lovely though, until I got out of the pool and gravity reminded me of my bump.

Elsa only 2/5ths to go.

Xav I'm glad things are better with your DP.

Nymph I'm so Envy at breakfast in bed, DH keeps waking me to give him lifts to work.

36+4

Elsa123 · 01/10/2010 11:12

I know what you mean Hermya I was woken by my DH this morning and I did not even hear the alarm. He did make tea, but I had to go downstairs for it as we had to be out dog walking in time to get back for DH to go to a meeting as we have one car at the moment. Ooh ref your LO's new trick, I read that its a natural reflex to stretch the feet upwards to assist with the mother pushing! You're going to be so glad to meet this one who's been causing you all this discomfort!

I'm meant to be writing handover notes for work at the moment, but have done my birth preferences instead and have just necked some pancakes with lemon and sugar as I was starving!

KSal · 01/10/2010 11:37

thanks for the thumbs up on the name... most people in real life have been a bit 'wtf?'

the induction was for pre eclampsia, but i also had polyhydramnios (excess amniotic fluid) which probably contributed to the cord issue.

seashells.... presume you have also had some sex? the sperm contains some hormone (is it prostaglandin?) that is supposed to soften the cervix and get things going.... could solve the horny DH issue :)
