congratulations loobyloo and well done on keeping going through the wee small hours! Phineas is a great name too; something for the rest of the boy arrivals to live up to!

I've heard that our Mums and toddlers group at the church dh and I go to is one of the most popular in the area, so I hope to make Mum friends there. Like many of you have said, I find it difficult to initiate conversations with people, but I guess I'll just have to be brave. There's also apparently a very good bf group meets in town, so I'll maybe give them a go too.

Well, I survived a day at the library, but I don't think I'll go alone into Belfast again because I can only get back to the hospital by public transport and if things suddenly kick off it could all get a bit awkward. I think dh was relieved when I told him my decision. Bless him, he does worry. I think my Mum is really finding it hard being across the water at this time, but at least my mil and fil are wonderful and give us both lots of support.

floozietoozie · 27/09/2010 23:25

Quick hello and congrats to Jennimoo and Looby, hello Ella and Phineas. Had first skin to skin hold with Zazie tonight and feel loads better. Have also been moved to a private room which is loads better, as before was sharing with eight others and their babies, not easy when you don't have yours (not great for sleeping either, asJennimoo so rightly said). Had a bit of a crying meltdown this morning in the toilet with it all sinking in and cried to mw too, couldn't help myself, who was very sympathetic, and helped bring on the move this eve. Better sleep now, up at 1.30 to express. xxx

lilmissmummy · 28/09/2010 00:53

Congratulations looby and welcome to baby phineas! Sounds like you had an exhausting night.

So pleased for you floozie that you got a proper cuddle, it sounds like Zazie is doing well!

Glad I'm not the only one a pregnant mess today! Going to try to get some sleep now.

Sorry I can't remember what everyone said today, will try and name check properly tomorrow

X and kisses for those babies x

Hi floozie- so glad they have got you sorted with a private room and that you have had cuddles with Zazie! I hope the expressing is going well. Don't worry about crying with the mw- it's not surprising at all, it's a difficult situatinfor you. Big hug :)

nymphadora · 28/09/2010 05:07

Congrats looby and welcome to the first little boy!

floozie crying is certainly normal fora new mum never mind all the shocks you have had. The private room will help as will the cuddles! What does ss think of his sister?

I woke ages ago and dh is up too now. We will be pretty good at not sleeping by the time baby comes [rollseyes]
Consultant today , glad to have dh going too as he can help ask questions AND drop me at the door !
36+6(down to single figures now -9 days to go!)

FingonTheValiant · 28/09/2010 08:16

Congratulations looby, and welcome Phineas! Superb name by the way, it was my personal favourite, but alas dh was not quite so keen! I'm glad there's an October thread Phineas anyway :o

floozie so glad you got some proper cuddles, that must have been lovely. Glad you've got a private room as well, that'll make things easier for you.

Have just received my North and South dvd, I was feeling very left out! I just cant' decide whether to watch it now, or to save for a treat after the baby comes. RA is so lovely.

Everything aches today, I cried when dh left for work, I really hate being by myself and feeling so rubbish. Also, can anyone advise please - I've got a really painful lump in one armpit, and I'm not sure whether it's something I need to see a dr about, or whether I can wait a few days and see if it goes? I'm only being seen fortnightly by the midwives, so I wont see them until next Wednesday and I feel so bad wasting dr's time if it's nothing.

Hope everyone has a lovely day, especially those who already have their little ones :)

floozie so glad you could have skin to skin with little Zazie. It must have been wonderful to be able to cuddle her at last. Don't worry about crying, it is difficult for any new Mum, but you have extra to contend with. Hoping Zazie continues to do well and will be out of the incubator soon.

nymph how exciting- nearly there now!

Hello again lulabelle I think everyone is different and perhaps this may be a sign of things starting for you (but then again...). Have you had a show yet?

37+3 as well (we must be date buddies lula)

DillyDora · 28/09/2010 10:40

Wow, we're on page 5 of a new thread and have four babies already. Congratulations looby, great name. My DS1 was 6lb 5oz and I remember being shocked by how little he was. He's a bruiser now though. Although he's off "sick" today, making a miraculous recovery when he didn't go to school Hmm. But we had a lovely morning - I took him to buy new trainers and we had breakfast in a nice cafe.

Hope we all have more comfortable days. Am off for a wee kip before the school run.

Congratulations Looby!! Can't believe there are so many babies already!!

I slept in this morning, so feeling a bit guilty. Don't know what to do today - I overdid things yesterday and want to relax today, but have so much to do (just know I won't be able to relax for a while with a baby and a toddler, but don't want to get bored!!)

I'll try and write again soon - I think I'll have a big tidy round the house!

moonstorm · 28/09/2010 11:03

Oh 37+5

ILoveGregoryHouse · 28/09/2010 11:09

SilverSky · 28/09/2010 12:54

Hi October ladies!

37+1 and officially at term, meaning if things happen I can go to the birthing centre. Ace.

HI are trying to decide when he will have to quit drinking. Crikey that makes him sound like an alcoholic! He's not! Just trying to decide when he needs to be on alert from. Next week or now?? Thoughts??

Loving the name Phineas! Wonderful!! Congrats.

Three days of September left - how many more births to happens before Friday!!!!!?????

Vikks · 28/09/2010 13:10

OMG I?m so hormonal! I?ve got a party to go to tonight and I?ve grown out of loads of my maternity clothes! I really need to put things in perspective. Plus, I?m not looking forward to the comments. If one more person tells me I?ll never get to 40 weeks because I?m so huge??I just know I?ll be close to 42 weeks! Sorry, rant over.
Maybe I?ll wear a tent. Hmm

Moonstorm sounds like nesting to me too.Grin or :o

Nymph Glad to hear you?re all sorted, not long now!
Silver It depends on how you feel about getting a taxi to your hospital/birthing centre. My DH is having his last drink tonight; I don?t fancy having contractions in front of a taxi driver. Wink

DillyDora · 28/09/2010 13:24

Oh Vikks I'm so sorry, I know what you mean. I can't seem to find a thing to wear either - just how do you accessorize tree trunk ankles?!

Just found out my friend is having ELCS tomorrow morning as her baby is a 10lber on the scan (and she is teeny weeny!). Sooooooooo excited!

nymphadora · 28/09/2010 13:26

Also cons was v keen on sterilising me due to the pg problems. When I refused she turned to dh & asked him to have it done instead! His face was a picture Grin im at that point I should do but can't quite admit to no more kids :(

moonstorm · 28/09/2010 13:29

nynph that's so sad about the couples Sad we are all so lucky. Things are getting closer for you Grin

Silversky congratulations on 37 weeks.

Vikks know what you mean about the comments! They didn't bother me at first, but now they are rather wearing.

Definitely nesting! But have been for the last few weeks! WEe've had builders in, decorated ds's bedroom and our family toilet, I've cleared out all but one of the cupboards in the house, we've sent loads of stuff to a charity shop, baby stuff is ready, big gardening stuff is done, I've bought and painted a chest of drawers for ds, cleared out the kitchen cupboards, and have generally tidied everything! Now to get on top of the house (done the deep cleaning, but surface cleaning needs doing if that makes sense!) BUT I'm not doing so well today! I have no ebergy I started, got really out of breath and have flopped on the settee in front of Project Catwalk Blush. I think it's phsychological - ds came last time after I had got everything ready, but I really con't want anyting to happen today - it's ds's birthday and he's really excited about me going to fetch him from nursery and our little family party tonight!

Hope eveyone with new babies are doing well!!

moonstorm · 28/09/2010 13:30

And that those without are doing well, too!

tiredfeet · 28/09/2010 13:42

congratulations loobyloo ! wow how exciting, every time I check this thread now it feels like there's been another baby. I wonder who will be next....

floozie I'm glad you have a private room now, I can't imagine how tough it must have been being on a ward where everyone else had their babies with them. glad you got some cuddles with Zazie too Smile

hermya I was watching spooks last night and couldn't work out where I recognised him from, so thank you! will be off to search for a copy of north and south now...

nymph that's so sad about those couples. really does remind me how lucky I am.

38+3 now

cheekymonkeyno3 · 28/09/2010 13:53

i read a few of the recent messages congratulations on all the babies - how exciting.

i've added myself to the stats list. due 30/10 so a while to go yet. but hopefully this means baby will have plenty of time to turn - still breech but so was DD at this point so not too worried.

Floozie I'm glad you got to hold your little one.

TF Always glad to spread the love that is Richard Armitage.

Cheeky Hello!!!

Nymph My Mum was like that with my youngest brother, she left it a while and after a heart to heart with DB Dad she decided that she was done. But she did it in her own time and I think she appreciated that.

Very achey today and am sat at home internet shopping, it's a hard life isn't it. Grin
