Ooo good luck Dilly! Fingers crossed everything goes well for you. Just remember there is a lovely baby at the end of it all Grin

My BP was the same as my booking in stats today which was good. Baby not showing anymore signs of arriving since show, as I blinkin' knew it wouldn't! Going to pop into town after the school run and grab myself a ball to sit on methinks - If I can fight my way through the fair!

SamanthaB123 · 13/10/2010 14:45

Dilly, how are you getting on? UFO?

Hermya321 · 13/10/2010 15:07

OOoooo Good luck Dilly!!

shieldbug · 13/10/2010 15:48

dilly good luck tonight, but it does sound as though labour might be starting of its own accord. Hopefully they won't need to induce you after all.

Just been to the hospital for the consultant's appt (all fine) and she decided to give me a sweep (which was uncomfortable but ok). Apparently I am 1cm dilated, so in her words, it's not imminent, but not a million miles away either. Hooray!

BackAgain · 13/10/2010 15:52

Good luck Dilly

Been a bit busy with dd so haven't had chance to post. Baby has moved a bit so it's more sitting on
the ball and cleaning the floor on
hands and knees! We are 3/5 engaged but no signs as yet.

Fingers crossed for all those with signs - hope they turn into babies soon

X posted shieldbug ooooh that sounds promising! Good luck

DillyDora · 13/10/2010 16:00

Thanks all - still pains on and off, couldn't even stop them with an episode of House - I thought if that distracted me enough to 'stop' the period pain then it wasn't really there IYSWIM but it didn't... good! Very sleepy though.. how odd.

Going to be v UFO now as I really need to eat macaroni cheese Hmm

Good luck back again and Shieldbug!

Come on babies!!!
xx

AbFabT · 13/10/2010 16:23

Come on people, where are your babies!!! :)

Looks like some of you are close! I say chill though - they will come when they are good and ready.
Hope you are all doing your perinneal massage - that's my top tip to you all!

Best of luck to everyone - I am reading, but it's hard typing with one hand - I have little patience! Must learn some, now I am a mum, I guess!

DS being delightful, I am just so in love, it's amazing. Thanks for asking, ILGH - I've posted up a little picture of my son and me! :)

SamanthaB123 · 13/10/2010 16:42

Dilly You sound like you are doing really well. Keep UFO and fx you won't need to be induced at all. I may not have time to post again, so really good luck for this evening. Try to go with the flow, if you have to have an epidural it will be ok (by the way when I had mine I didn't have a catheter. Some of the mums at my ante natal group were worried about that part but it can't be essential. In fact it wasn't even mentioned).

Shieldbug 1cm is better than none! I was wondering if I was a little dilated after all of the stop and start contractions that I've been having over the past few weeks. Going for a sweep tomorrow so I'll find out!

DillyDora · 13/10/2010 16:44

Aw lovely pic AbFab of you both looking very gorgeous!!! Glad it's all going well Grin

nymphadora · 13/10/2010 16:48

Ooh dilly sounds like you'll miss the pigs semen then Grin good luck for tonight!

SilverSky · 13/10/2010 16:50

Go dilly Go bugs!!!!

No news here least not symptom wise. Not much movement as usual though some. Am putting it down to lack of room. Few sharp twinges on bump but nowt else. Laying on sofa now and junior has woken up.

Spent afternoon at friend's and her newborn is divine. Well behaved and cute. Had a lovely cuddle. Not easy with a big bust and tummy. Mine not the baby's!!

I still think I will be preggo this time time next week.

Hi. Just a quick one to let you know that my pains got steadily worse Monday through the night. At about 5 am got in bath to ease them and fell asleep. Woke up with urge to push and major panic. Cue dramatic ambulance with sirens and lights rushing me to hospital where just over an hour later gave birth to Georgia Ann weighing 7lb 8 had just g&a and one small tear. She was refusing to feed so only just got home. Am exhausted but very happy!
Good luck to those still waiting. X

DillyDora · 13/10/2010 17:12

Sam12 wow, way to go!! Congrats on Georgia, hurrah for another baby!!

dilly sounding good for you lovely, wishing you all the best tonight and beyond. Fx for nature's way happening.

AbFab it's love like no other, isn't it? Oh god I'm starting to cry Blush.

Everyone else still waiting - hope you don't go insane.

Wondering if I can actually put dd for for a moment to do a small amount of tidying before aunt arrives. I'm still in my nightie....

nymphadora · 13/10/2010 18:49

Congrats Sam12 fab story though I bet it was nerve wracking at the time!

Went to pick dds up from school before & showed dd3 off, was nice to leave the house but was too much really.
Blew up later at my parents , dd1,& dd2. Couldn't cope with everyone talking at once & dd1 /my mam seemed to be taking it in turns to stand over me. Mam now sulking & dds upset. Think dh has sorted dds & tried to explain but still feel bad.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 13/10/2010 19:14

Congratulations sam12! Welcome Georgia :)

Goodness, this thread really shows no two births are the same!

Good luck dilly and shieldbugs- sounds like things are moving well.

Dd is doing really well, already over her birthweight and although jaundiced very beautiful :)

She seems to be growth spurting- fed every hour since last night, very tired but well :)

Good luck everyone still waiting - won't be long now.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 13/10/2010 19:22

Congratulations Sam. bit of a wow birth story.

Lovely photo AbFab.

NinthWave · 13/10/2010 19:39

Congrats Sam - wow I want a birth story like yours!!

Dilly fingers crossed for you...

Vikks, Ivy - happy due date ladies Grin shame nothing much is happening eh?? I've had a weird day - have been really emotional and completely knackered, luckily DH is off on leave now so he looked after DS while I hid under the duvet for 3 hours at lunchtime. I just feel weepy and crampy and like I want to hide...totally different from DS, who was 5 days late but never had so much as a twinge until labour started at about 5am one morning.

My mum is driving up tomorrow (she's 200 miles away) so she'll be here for my induction on Friday (eek) if baby hasn't made an entrance (exit? Wink) by then. So looking forward to seeing her.

Come on babies!!

shieldbug · 13/10/2010 19:46

sam12 congratulations! Georgia is a lovely name too. Wow, hope I manage to fall asleep through some of labour!

AbFab Maverick looks absolutely gorgeous. What a fantastic picture.

Apparently if anything happens as a result of the sweep it will be within 48 hours, so watch this space... No show or serious pains yet, so I'm reserving judgement as yet. I think 1cm dilation is probably the norm for this stage of pg and most likely doesn't signify anything. The consultant didn't fill me with confidence when she asked me to make another appt for next week!

Thinking of you dilly, hope all goes well.

jessebelle · 13/10/2010 19:48

That's one helluva story Sam12 - amazing! Congrats on Georgia Ann - lovely name again!

AbFab - lovely piccie!!!

Slept badly as I really thought things were starting to happen, lots of period-y cramping, which is how I remember it from last time. But yet again, I've had a whole day of occasional strong BH like 'contractions' but nothing building into anything regular. Sometimes take my breath away but no increase in frequency or anything like that. Have obstetrician 10am tomorrow so I guess it's possible they'll examine me for any signs of cervix ripening etc - but am still not sure about going for a sweep again, as I had such a bad experience last time. Think I'll book acupuncture first if they suggest sweep.

My mum's now here and she's bought a lovely newborn pressie - can't wait to use the babygro/blanket/hat from Lindex in Sweden - cute forest creatures in the pattern... cross fingers things actually start to happen so I can avoid all my 'sweep/nosweep' etc dilemmas and interventions!!!
