moonstorm I don't know about pains at the top of the bump. All of mine so far have been at the bottom of the bump. If you are worried, I'm sure the mw wouldn't mind a call.

xavi sounds promising!

abfab request for pictures of Maverick seconded! Hope your soreness eases soon. So glad all is going well otherwise.

SilverSky · 12/10/2010 18:13

I burnt my bloody cake.

rollerbaby · 12/10/2010 20:09

I thought my baybee was coming out in the supermarket today... The twinges are so sharp and make you gasp. Does anyone else have this? Off to see consultant in the morning given that I'm measuring 4-5 weeks ahead... not sure what to think but hoping to finally decide whether I'll be at home or not for this baby's birth. Update in the morning!

Tyson86 · 12/10/2010 22:24

Hi ladies, just put a new pic on my profile of Sophie's first bath, she cried all the way through it bless her :)

shieldbug · 12/10/2010 22:55

Oh tyson she is so gorgeous!

honeymoo I haven't had twinges like that, but they sound pretty painful. Good luck with the appointment tomorrow.

floozietoozie · 13/10/2010 01:08

Friend of mine came round this pm and brought a beautiful wool dress forvwhen dd is s bit older. It was great to have someone to talk to. We say out in the sun while her ds, same age as mine, happily played
in the extremely messy playroom. Ds was in crèche so v peaceful for me!

Silver I feel your pain re the cake.

Moonstorm hope the pain goes or is a good sign.

floozietoozie · 13/10/2010 01:10

Aww Tyson! lovely pics all round.

SilverSky · 13/10/2010 07:04

moo I have also had minor twinges on the side of my bump. Just here and there. Figured it was stretching pains. Good luck today! Will look out for your update.

Meeting a pal for lunch with her newborn. Not sure if excited or scared as it's all getting a bit real!

Hermya321 · 13/10/2010 08:23

I tried the ball, I'm drinking that horrid tea, a long walk, I booked an important lunch and I grabbed DH and made good on certain promises.

LO is still in there.

Stubborn little horror.

Ivytheterrible · 13/10/2010 09:31

40 weeks today for me. No signs that baby is coming. Last night had spicy curry, sex, clarys sage bath, ball bouncing and 2 mugs of RL tea.

Today I'm going for a long walk to see if that helps!

Congrats to everyone that has had theirs in the last few days am very jealous. Loving the names 3 already used are on my short-list too.

Noticed a few people have said movement has decreased... me too - not sure whether to get checked out - seeing my midwife in a couple of hours think I'll see what she says.

SilverSky · 13/10/2010 10:00

herm don't forget to go somewhere far away without your phone or your hossie notes/bag. Guaranteed.

Vikks · 13/10/2010 10:25

Snap Ivy! It's you, me and Ninth today.

40 Weeks!!! I've had this date circled in my calender for so long, it feels a bit werid.
Lots of pressure and a few pains last night, but nothing to make me think todays the day. I want to be a mummy now!!! Grin

DillyDora · 13/10/2010 10:27

Morning all, sorry to hear of no progress for those on symptom watch... I've still got period pains and poop but that's about it. LO quiet this morning but then he is in the mornings... Anyhoo, it's all on for induction tonight tho just for the record BP was normal at monitoring yesterday, only 1 plus of protein and the 24 hr urine had some protein but not much and the creatinine balance was fine which basically means I am ok... Hmm....We shall see what happens when I get to hossy tonight. I dreamed I was about to have the pessary and all DH's family and friends were in the room having a party! Shock

Sorry about the cake silver.

Good luck on getting those babies moving, you can't say you're not trying!!!
xxx

nymphadora · 13/10/2010 10:50

Good luck dilly

nymphadora · 13/10/2010 11:09

Dh just gone out properly ( more than school run) for first time since we came home & dd3 has been sick all over her pram & bedding is on top floor! Going to be a lot of nursing for next 2 hours!

floozietoozie · 13/10/2010 11:17

Dilly good luck. Any chance they will wait now things looking a bit better?

Vikks ivy and ninth babies please Wink. Hope things start for you, good work on the giving nature a helping hand!

nymphadora · 13/10/2010 11:26

Now a v huge pooey nappy, going to be in bed by the time dh returns!

SamanthaB123 · 13/10/2010 11:38

I am really struggling with how long this is taking to get going. With my other pregnancies I had contractions, they got closer together, I went to hospital and the baby was born. Most contractions that I have are late evening and overnight, leaving me exhausted during the day and although some are really quite painful, they never get closer together or worse. Hmmphh. Fed up.

39 weeks

nymphadora · 13/10/2010 12:15

How many weeks were you with the others SamB? It's supposed to be similar isn't it?

Waiting for visitor who is coming 11ish. Starting to get PO as I fancy a lie down before a trip to the top floor. Giving them until half past .

DillyDora · 13/10/2010 12:37

Oooh, sorry samB... and nymph - yeugh!

floozie I wondered that... LO rather slow today, though he was up in the night, bit paranoid now so I'm counting and noting times. Having some brownish mucus stuff, we like that don't we? (Blimey, when would you ever have these conversations otherwise?!)

Hope Vikks is alright...

Have just dyed hair at home for first time in years - v bold red/ginger...perfect!

SamanthaB123 · 13/10/2010 12:54

Nymph DD1 was born at 39 weeks and DD2 at 39+3. About now really. It's just that my baby can't hear me shouting it!!! Either that or she's inherited selcetive hearing like her sisters! Really tired and teary now, I feel like I'm on a roller coaster today.

Dilly My baby isn't doing so much today either. Busy in the night when I was awake but not as busy as usual. I'm seeing the mw tomorrow and as there are still movements I am trying to stay cool about it. There is so little room now and if she's in a good position the limbs will be more toward my back. For what it's worth, I'd do anything for a splodge of brown mucas... Grin.

nymphadora · 13/10/2010 12:57

dilly sounds like a show!

SamB must be about ready then, no wonder you are frustrated, don't blame you for being teary

DillyDora · 13/10/2010 13:07

Huzzah! Would love to get into hosp and be already on the way (so they can send me back home ;0) )

Fair point SamB about the movements at the back. Soooo hope your labour kicks in soon, the tired and teary can be a sign I think - a girl in our yoga class came in one week and she'd obviously started her labour but didn't know and it was like she'd had a personality transplant! From happy and mellow she was all teary and as she said 'PMT'ish (and then she had the baby next day!)

In other news - stroooong downward pressure & tight tummy, have to keep going off to pee (and sometimes not making it!), back ache a bit, shaky legs... and then it eases up a bit.... feel a bit 'all anyhow' like I don't quite know what to do with myself...

SamanthaB123 · 13/10/2010 13:20

Dilly you could clean the loo, that's what I'm doing next. Over the last week I have found it crucially important to clean things that are already clean and in spite of being too physcially tired to actually do it. You sound very much like a person in early labour to me (I am not jealous in any way!). Try to stay upright - at the ante natal class we were taught UFO: upright, forward and open. Basically stay upright, lean forward and keep your legs open! Wide open so that the pelvis is forward and, well, open. Probably best not to do it in public places. I find that sitting on the ball with my legs splayed (also not good in public places), if I wiggle my bottom from left to right or do big circles with my hips, I can feel the babies head on my cervix. It does make me want to wee but it also means that the head is putting pressure in all the right places. That said, I'm not the one in early labour, but it will definately help. What time are you going to hospital?

DillyDora · 13/10/2010 14:12

OK Samb you're on (better than cleaning the loo Wink) I did just have a bath which was not quite the right thing to do but it helped slow me down a bit (and also I smell nice now!) Onto my birth ball I go! Due at hosp at 7.30 this evening...
