rollerbaby · 13/10/2010 19:57

Congratulations Sam that sounds like a very good and fast experience!!! Enjoy your little one!

Good luck dilly hope everything progresses from here...Make sure you have as much rest as you can!

No news here, just lots of ironing!

37+3.

moonstorm · 13/10/2010 21:00

Good luck Dilly!!

Abfab It's lovely to hear how loved up you are!!

Wow Sam!! congratulations and what excitement!! Hope you get some rest now.

Shieldbug 1cm is definitely in the right direction!!!

(((Nymph)))) sometimes it takes a blow up for people to realise how much things are affecting you. Hopefully things'll be fine in the morning.

Dh has made a curry - accidentally really hot Hmm - I wasn't going to go down the hot curry route (don't fancy it coming out the other end in labour... Blush ) Might not have a choice now... Grin

I think I might have had a bit of a show... I got a long lump of what looked like very old mucus, twice but there was no blood in it, just the normal colour.

I also have had some periody backache. So nothing major, but I'm starting to hope that things are moviing in the right direction. Have the sweep dilemma tomorrow - I think I'm going to decline tomorrow, but have one next week when the cs is more iminent...

39+6 Shock

BionicEar · 13/10/2010 21:11

Sam12 - congratulations! Going to be a good story to dine out on isn't it?! Grin

Am too tired to write much - saw MW earlier baby is head down but not too far down to get excited about.

Keep feeling sick, extremely tired and today had my 1st big hormonal weep on another mum at school after dropping DD off who has been very clingy for weeks since starting back at school. Did feel a tad embarrassed but other mum was lovely.

Seems to have started with heart burn again - not good! And forgot to ask MW for repeat prescription so will ring in morn and see if she can get one done for me.

37+6 days

SilverSky · 13/10/2010 21:52

MW appt tomorrow. Then meet up with other preggos. Another busy day in maternity leave!

Still lying on the sofa and junior is having a right old dance. Prob means I am squishing him/her so I will try and change into a better position.

My backaches and needs a good rub. My leg is dead from my weight being on it. Same old stories from my end. Dull dull dull.

sam NOW that's a birth story and a half!!! Another smashing name!!!

Hermya321 · 13/10/2010 21:59

Silver Your day sounds like mine, my highlight tomorrow will be going to Lakeland for a moisture tray. I live the high life don't you know.

Nymph Gosh, it's hard when people are constantly standing over you isn't it. I expect I would have had a similar reaction to you if I'm honest. I hope things settle for you soon.

Sam Cool birth story, I'm kinda hoping to sleep through a lot of my labour before I realise anything is going on.

Ivytheterrible · 13/10/2010 22:45

ninth vikks are we all going to miss our date?!

Saw midwife today and she said I was contracting when she touched my bump! I didn't feel it but it has been like that all afternoon so maybe I'm onto something? No pain, no show etc so probably not tho...

Was very weepy this morning but I was watching the miners release so can't really put it all down to pregnancy.

moonstorm that sounds hopeful!

Officially overdue in 75 mins.

Vikks · 13/10/2010 23:33

Ivy I'm missing our date for sure. Nothing much to report. I'm still getting loads of BH but no show and no pains this evening apart from my skin feeling really sore under my bump.
I had a good cry at the miners this morning too.

Sam Congratulations and an amazing story. x

AbFab Beautiful picture!

Dilly Good luck.

In other news - My sister has just informed me that all going well I'll be an aunty in 8 months time! I'm sooo happy for her as she had a MC earlier in the year and I know it's been hard for her to watch me growing bigger. Fingers crossed that little bean will stick and little Harry will have a cousin soon. Grin Grin Grin

SamanthaB123 · 14/10/2010 08:51

Warning: very sad post:
I am also on another pregnancy thread where the mums have all had miscarriages prior to their current pregnancies. Last night one of the overdue mums posted to say that her baby had been stillborn at the weekend. I wanted to share this here because we all often talk about our babies being 'quiet' and I certainly often justify this. It is better, if in any doubt at all, to go and get the baby checked out. It doesn't matter how many times we need to do this, anything is better than what happened to this lovely mum.

I know that it is awkward posting this here, but I think that it's really important that I do. No comments are necessary in reply, we should continue as we were before, just a little more mindful perhaps.

SilverSky · 14/10/2010 09:24

sam I think a little reality check is fine. I am a believer in that until you have that baby in your arms then nothing is guaranteed.

It happened to a friend of mine. She has decided to adopt rather than go through pregnancy again. Can't say I blame her and I support her.

Certainly a very sad story and my heart goes out to that lady and her other half.

shieldbug · 14/10/2010 10:55

sam Just right to remind us to get things checked out if we are at all worried. I think it's easy when we've come so far to assume that everything will be ok. How awful for that poor mum and her family.

vikks what lovely news. It will be great for the cousins to be close in age. My nephew (sadly in England, so I don't see much of him) is 1 1/2, and my niece in NI is 7 months, so this baby will grow up with similar aged relatives.

Ivy the consultant said my bump was hard when she was feeling it too, but like you, I couldn't feel anything. I am assuming it's another sign that things are progressing in the right direction. No contraction type pains or a show here either, despite the sweep.

moonstorm, that certainly sounds like a show to me...exciting !

nymphadora · 14/10/2010 11:48

SamB quite right to have a reality check occasionally. Makes me realise how lucky I am too. Last time I was at antenatal appt. 2 couples having 12/20 week scans were put in a side room in tears and was v much a reality check of how lucky those of us who have successful pregnancies are.

muffle get on the floor and lean on your ball. Let your back dip and rest your chest on a pillow on the ball. Gravity will hopefully pull the bubs round into the right position.

I hear scrubbing floors is also good.

BackAgain · 14/10/2010 12:09

Hi Muggle I am in the same situation and have been advised by the midwife to use my ball and to scrub kitchen floor on hands and kness as silversky says. Apparently this makes it uncomfortable for the baby so they move round. My SIL is a midwife says baby will turn naturally during labour if back-to-back but it means that the early stages are very painful with backache and can take longer so worth trying to move baby

I think I am having some luck with moving 'bump' but worry that he just moves back when I am asleep

Am hoping that as some regular posters are a bit quite today we might have some baby news later - fingers crossed

BionicEar · 14/10/2010 12:32

SamB - I think it is good for us to have a reality check, as I know of at least 3 couples via peeps I know who have had this happen in the past year. But for those of you who get parnoid easily, I am told that this is not a common thing to happen. Let just hope and pray that the rest of our babies arrive safely here on Oct Babes.

With you on stressing important of getting quiet bumps checked out - better to be safe than sorry.

Hope you're all doing ok today.

Had good news earlier as a friend contacted me to say she is pregnant after x no of years of trying. Am so thrilled for her. Miracles do happen!

Celebration time. Just had first chocolate since January that tasted right Grin

Hermya321 · 14/10/2010 13:58

Nymph Yay!!!

Muggle Get scrubbing, try leaning forwards when you sit on a sofa as well. I've heard that helps.

I went to Lakeland and they didn't even have what I wanted, all they had was an empty shelf. One question though, when do people get to the stage of life when mushroom bags become an essential item?

On the baby front, I've had BH and cramps on and off since last night. I've been for a long walk and bounced on the ball, I even tried dancing. It's getting frustrating as they keep tailing off and I'm just left feeling achey and pissed off. Anyway, enough about that for one day.

RooBear · 14/10/2010 14:12

hello everyone, firstly as i've been away a while, congratulations to nymph dontstopme seashells abfab fingon and sam12 !
I'm getting very impatient now as I'm constantly achey but have no other symptoms. I'm only 38+5 so know that there could be a while yet Sad its like i'm permantly waking up on christmas eve!

SamanthaB123 · 14/10/2010 16:01

Hi, saw midwife this morning for sweep. Bloody cervix closed and unfavourable. So couldn't sweep. Going to have another go Tues and then Thurs if still haven't produced baby. Feel a bit flat. On phone so can't name check, hope all well.

cheekymonkeyno3 · 14/10/2010 16:02

congratulations Sam12 and what a story (a friend of mine actually did end up having hers in the bath recently so i'm glad you managed to get to hospital on time)

nothing much to report here, had a really uncomfortable night last night with cramps and was up with the runs, sorry TMI got slightly excited for a while. but still only 37+5 so don't really expect anything yet.

i wonder how dilly is and who will be next... :o

floozietoozie · 14/10/2010 16:31

I'm wondering about Dilly too. Hope it is going well for her.

AbFabT · 14/10/2010 17:56

Good work, Sam! Sounds nice and speedy with some high drama adventures! Welcome to the world, Georgia Ann. Lovely name - my GodDaughter is Georgia Eve. Yummy!

SamB, sad sad stories. I knew of two stillbirths recently and they were regularly on my mind. Life is so unfair. There seems no reason for such cruelty in life. :(

Sounds like lots of you are getting close now - keep up the good work with the curries (inadvertently hot or not!) and raspberry leaf tea - not long to go at all, just a few weeks max. Woo hoo!

Thanks for all the compliments on my gorgeous boy. DH and I are SOOOOO taken with him, and feel truly blessed. Had the PILs down from Scotland for a few days, they are in love with him too. Right, signing off to go cuddle my baby!
Take care you lot, I'll catch up again soon.

SilverSky · 14/10/2010 18:11

Minor update from me:

Saw Gp (who was horrified about MWs )
Baby all good to go, though now seems less engaged (but as she said she is not a MW)
If no baby by due date, got to call MWs for home vist and poss VE/Sweep if I want
If no baby by the following week I will be induced (GAH)

I shall mostly be spending tonight bouncing on my ball.
