PLEEEEAAAASSEE send some lovely cake my way. Have had dp sil and nephew here today. Nephew (adult) been fab with ds, played for hours with ds and his new helicopter which was his present from DD; also brought a present forboth of them whichwas lovely of him, and very thoughtful as he had re embered ds loves music so bought an instrument set. Sil stayi g the night and was great help with ds at bedtime as dd has been cluster feeding through the afternoon and evening and I had to lie down withher to get her off (and needed rest!). Just wish we could permanentlyhave someone else in the house atm to help. Ds wanted me at bedtime so he came into ourbed where I was so I could tell him story; just felt I needed a bit of contact with him.

It's so exciting reading all your possible labour beginings. I'm getting lots of vicarious enjoyment from it seen as it didn't happen that way for me in the end.

Seahells, was imogen delivered without assistance in the end? Well done you after the long labour.

Tyson how's sophie?

Vikks · 09/10/2010 06:15

Anyone up?
I've had a really bad headache all night. Should I be worried or totally normal for 39+3?
I've been having loads of BH and wondering if I just haven't slept well.

floozietoozie · 09/10/2010 06:51

vikks I'm up, butvthen again I nearly always am! Oh hod, ds was as usual on with me but he woke up just as dd went back to sleep after about 3.30 and he would not fall asleep again. Was awake with him until nearly 5.30 when it was almost time up feed dd again. Was nearly crying with tiredness by then. Got tobtry and crack ds's sleeping again, it's really not helping.

Vikks · 09/10/2010 06:58

...and here I am complaining of a headache!
I guess I've got it all to come. Good luck getting some sleep. x

SilverSky · 09/10/2010 07:06

vikks are you dehydrated ? Perhaps slept too heavily ? I have got a bit of a headache too, could be anything. Think mine is from too much sleep and sleeping very deeply. Or could be something to do with HI sleeping with his elbow in my neck!! Will see how I feel in awhile and will go from there.

I HATE these dark mornings, makes the night feel as though it goes on forever.

Vikks · 09/10/2010 07:11

Thanks. I wondered if I should get my BP checked. It's just unusual for me, I don't normally suffer.

I'm with you on the dark mornings, it still feels like 4am. x

SilverSky · 09/10/2010 07:23

Same here. I don't usually suffer either but when I do it's usually cos of the above reasons. Tho my recent check up indicated trace of protein in my urine so like you that's in the back if my mind. I think if you are worried get checked out. Peace of mind is priceless.

Also stress can be a good kick starter for headaches too. Try not to panic as you can make it worse. Easy to say I know.

Does your surgery have a Sat morning clinic? or where else can you go to get your bp checked?

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 09/10/2010 07:46

Floozie- Ikwym, Ds really needs attention too, desperate to give it to him but it's tough. My mum and Sis have had to head back so it's just us.

Managed to avoid assisted delivery. I had been sleeping on and off once epidural kicked in and drip made me contract and redilate so when things were in place I knew how to push iykwim so managed to do it myself :) mw was finishing shift, out of room and I said sod this she's not missing my baby, started pushing, said to dh go get her, they both came in to find a head halfway out Grin

Was scared stiff it would still end up with forcepts or emcs after all that time.

Loved the water though - recommend it to anyone!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 09/10/2010 08:52

Vikks I would get my bp checked if i were you.

Seashells bet that gave mw a turn.

DillyDora · 09/10/2010 09:03

Vikks a word from the new Kween Of Headaches & BP and all that - get it checked out. It's a hassle I know but can you get to your maternity unit? Then they can do it all in one place - BP, urine, monitor bub, see if you've got swollen anything (then record your elephant feet as 'non-significant' Shock Wink) Hopefully it's nothing but it turns out you can't let it go - this is how it all started for me (sorry...)

Cor, that's ace Seashells well done, have I said congratulations - hope so!

Hello floozie nice to hear you've had some help, hope ds settles down soon....

xx

Hermya321 · 09/10/2010 09:27

Seashells Gosh you were a bit badass weren't you!! Bet the mw panicked a little didn't she.

*Vikks How are you feeling now?

floozietoozie · 09/10/2010 10:22

aw Seashwells that's fab. So pleased for you.

No word from AbFab for a while? Anytime someone is quiet for a bit I keep wondering. Grin

Vikks I agree, get your headache checked. At this stage its just not worth taking any risks. Hope its nothing and you feel better.

ILGH I like Gennie or Genni.

Fingon I/m afraid the bodily fluids obsession will just transfer to your LO once it,s here! (see my poo postings earlier...)

shieldbug · 09/10/2010 11:09

vikks hope you are feeling better soon. I agree with the others, best to get things checked out. Try drinking more too, it might help and won't do any harm.

dilly good luck with collecting your pee! You must be desperate for it to be over soon. Any more tightenings of the bump or other signs?

floozie hope you can get your ds settled into a sleeping pattern soon. How is he finding his little sister?

AbFab are you enjoying newborn snuggles yet?

I'm still struggling to sleep for longer than an hour before the itching wakes me up. The cream just isn't powerful enough to override my need to scratch when I am asleep, then once I've done that, all is lost as it gets hot and worse. During the day, I can usually bear it though. I decided to get up anyway at 5am to watch the qualifying for the gp, only to find out it was rained off Sad. Anybody else going into serious overdrive on the bouncing to try to shift this baby for 10/10/10? Wink

shieldbug · 09/10/2010 11:10

39 weeks today!

Vikks · 09/10/2010 11:16

Thanks everyone. I've got a MW phoning me soon as my clinic is shut. I spoke to someone at the hospital and they recommeneded BP check too.
I'm feeling very sick now Sad somethings not right. I'll let you know what they say. x

FingonTheValiant · 09/10/2010 11:36

Oh Vikks I hope everything is alright. Try not to worry (impossible really I know) but that will make your BP go up. Do you have some nice chill out music you can listen to while you wait?
It might not be high BP - I was getting headaches because mine was dipping. Have you drunk loads of water? That'll help no matter what - water seems to be the pregnancy wonder drug!

Shieldbug bouncing like a loon here :o Sorry to hear your itching is still really bad.

Floozie I really hope I don't turn into a poo obsessed PFB monster, but it seems likely :o I might have to try to restrict my body fluid obsession to mumsnet, otherwise I'm going to lose friends left and right!

Had two really strong contractions this morning, but desperately needed a wash, so had a long hot shower and now they've stopped :( I keep shooting myself in the foot it seems!

39+5

Hermya321 · 09/10/2010 11:49

Vikks I hope you're ok and that everything is ok, let us know how you get on.

Flingon I get that, I'll get a couple of tightenings and then nothing. Stupid BH, they lull you into a false sense of anticipation.

Shieldbug Yep bouncing here as well, hope LO decides to shift itself soon.

moonstorm · 09/10/2010 11:58

Morning all!

Had the worst night sleep ever! Between me going to the toilet and ds waking and not wanting to go back to sleep (yet wanting me, not dh). Slept in until 11 while dh got up with ds, but still feel awful! At least no-one on here will say that it's 'my body getting me ready for sleepless nights after the baby's born' Wink! Can't decide whether exhaustion will stall labour or jinx it in to happening when Im shattered!

Floozie hope you manage to catch some sleep later. Do you ever co sleep? I sometimes find when things are reaqlly bad sleep-wise with ds is that when he starts in with us (rather than joining us in teh middle of the night) that he sleeps for longer and I can catch up on sleep.

Wonder when the best time would be to go in to labour so as not give birth today/ give birth in the very early hours of Monday!!!

Hermya and Fingon glad it's not just me. I get really excited when the tightenings/ cramps start, then they all disappear again... Angry Smile

I'm going to get bouncing on my ball! Grin

FingonTheValiant · 09/10/2010 12:21

Ok, getting lots of painfully crampy tightenings now. How and when am I meant to start timing them? How painful are they meant to be if it's all kicking off?

My water's haven't gone, and I don't recall losing a plug, but I suppose I could have missed it in one of my many trips to the bathroom half asleep in the last few days.

Oh crikey, I have no idea what to do now! And I'll be so gutted if this isn't it - I'm bloody uncomfortable!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 09/10/2010 12:32

Fingon start timing now. Time from the start of one to the start of the next to get the intervals. When they are five minutes apart and last 30 s to 1 min and you can't talk through it, off you go!

FingonTheValiant · 09/10/2010 12:42

Super, thanks ILGH!

floozietoozie · 09/10/2010 13:29

Fingon good luck if it's the real thing. Remember your waters won't necessarily break so don't wait for that.

Moonstorm he was cosleeping that's the prob. Normally he is better if in our bed from the off but not last night.

Struggling a bit ATM. Dp is losing it a bit in the sense that he is so tired brcause of health issues and having to do so much with ds. I'm really panicking how we are going to manage without ds ending up watching tv eight hours a day. Sad
