Congratulations SeaShells and hello Imogen, lovely name! And a really impressive weight - yikes! Enjoy your snuggles!

Dilly sounds like things could be kicking off for you! Good luck!

Samantha sounds like things might be happening for you too.

Any news AbFab?

got a bit over excited this morning as had a definite popping sensation down below, but unfortunately I think it was just an excessive amount of discharge as nothing since :( I can't believe how interested I've become in my own body fluids Blush

No contractions here and braxton hicks have vanished too :( although I've been a wee bit crampy. I have definitely not seen a mucus plug, so I'm assuming it's still there.

lilmiss dh has been having words with the bump and told him that he has to come on Sunday, he's desperate for a 10/10 baby.

Bizarrely he's also saying that he wants a weekend baby so that he wont have to miss work fgs! You'd think a day off would be great! Weekends are precious enough.

I'm meant to be doing brunch on Sunday with friends I haven't seen for ages - I'm hoping that Sod's Law will kick in and I'll go into labour as I'm putting my make up on :o

SamanthaB123 · 08/10/2010 13:54

Dilly How are you getting on?

SamanthaB123 · 08/10/2010 14:33

I thought that it would be a good idea to have our stats on the chat thread from time to time so that we can see who is where and who has had their babies. I keep getting muddled...hope it's not just me! So I have updated our stats (which took a tad longer than I thought it would) with what I think are the current details. I really hope I haven't missed out any births...it was all nicely lined up in word, but am not sure what it will look like here. Hope I haven't made a total mess Blush.

congratulations seashells ! love the name

been sat in the garden in the sunshine, its boiling here Smile I've been loving the chance to just sit and relax in the sun and enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts!

floozietoozie · 08/10/2010 16:43

Blimey, that is a lit of girls! Well done SamB. When i had ds everyone seemed to be having boys, funnily enough.

Hermya321 · 08/10/2010 16:59

Congratulations Seashells !!! Enjoy your daughter!!

floozietoozie · 08/10/2010 17:02

And of course big congratulations Seashells!!! Hope you're not too tires after imogens birth. Lovely name.

sam12 · 08/10/2010 17:54

Congrats seashells. Love the name. Hope you enjoying some cuddles
Nearly every girls name so far has been on our list of contenders!

SamanthaB123 · 08/10/2010 18:20

Now, some people seem to be very quiet here today and I am wondering if there is news coming our way! We haven't heard from Dilly of AbFab and wasn't Lizkins in labour ages ago???

I feel that my baby is never going to come so I am going to try to stop expecting her to. I'll probably still be pregnant at Christmas Sad. I've driven myself mad today. I can't stop myself from cleaning and doing stuff. Even when I am too tired to actually do anything. What is wrong with me?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 08/10/2010 18:24

Well done seashells. Enjoy your time with newborn Imogen. Lovely name (was on our list too, before we went for Genevieve).

Talking of names, we've settled on Genevieve but I want to shorten it for everyda. Do you think it should be Genni, Gennie, Jenni, Jenny or Jennie Confused.

DillyDora · 08/10/2010 18:36

Hello Dearies,

Well, I got through the morning with only a few sit downs, and then had a quick 'buhbye' with my colleagues (and a very nice bunch of flowers, and a lovely bear!) and then met DH who accompanied me to the hospital - the walking to the tube and the hosp was a strain but nothing like as bad as the morning. So...blood pressure was down and in the normal range - hurray! BUT protein in the urine is up so still considered at risk of pre-eclampsia...after a lot of hanging about and monitoring (baby is fine Grin) saw the registrar and now have to collect 24 hrs worth of wee (!) for the consultant on Monday - lucky him. Basically need to see how many grams of protein in 24 hrs and take it from there... I suppose it's all to decide if it's really pre-eclampsia and I need to be induced. Blood results were looking better and even iron is up, it's this protein we're worried about and apparently just that is enough to diagnose with... So, if LO could just make the decision for us and come along, that would be lovely, he's only 4 5ths engaged so ....hmmm... we shall see. Quelle flippin' saga eh?

Congratulations Seashells huzzah! Once again, lovely name, what excellent taste you all have Wink

moonstorm · 08/10/2010 18:48

Congratulations! Seashells Great name.

Glad things are more positive Dilly - hope the protein stays down.

ILGH I like the 'look' of Gennie best - I like that it has the same first letter to distinguish it from other 'Jennys' (shortened from Jennifer etc.)

I am starting to wonder if things are starting (not in an immediate way, but over to next week sort of way). I'm sure the baby felt lower this morning (lots of pressure outwards low down and kicks seem lower). TMI but I've have loads of extra discharge (not show) don't know whether this is anything low. And I've had a niggle in my lower abdomen most of the day and I've noticed my belly getting hard... So I'm not sure yet it is abything, really, but it's more than I've had... Hope to avoid the problem of the sweep. (I am 90% certain of doing it, then think of the strepb and decide against it again).

A question for teachers (dh is one) he is taking two weeks, but was told that if he goes off on a Thursday anmd Friday that it counts as one full week! Is this right? Thinking that if I gave birth at the end of teh week, we could lose so much! (Although he is allowed the day of birth off). I'm worried about coping for the first days (dues to tiredness) with a todddler and baby!! I'll manage though, it just seems strange.

Hope we all have a good weekend. 10.10.10 is approaching... Grin

moonstorm · 08/10/2010 18:49

Sorry for awful typing!!! Tired today and didn't proof read.

BionicEar · 08/10/2010 19:39

Nymph and SeaShells congrats on the dafe arrivals of your girls. What lovely names you have choosen for them. Smile

Have had an extremely active wriggly bump this week ever since the game of "Sleeping Lions" over the weekend. Grin

Am having ups and down days with pr niggles but staying focus the end is near and it will be worth it.

Hope you all get good night sleep tonight - I know I could do with decent night sleep.

FingonTheValiant · 08/10/2010 20:01

moonstorm dh is entitled to 10 days, regardless of when he takes them - in fact, his school said he could have one day a week for 10 weeks if he wanted! I think that what they are suggesting is illegal, as he has an entitlement to 2 full weeks.
If your baby does come midweek and you're really worried about it do you think you could manage for a few days, if he works minimum hours (ie straight home) so that he can start on the monday?

I'm sure they're wrong with that though!

ILGH love the name Genevieve, I really wanted it, but dh hates the French pronunciation :( I like Genni or Jenni best, Jennie and Jenny are to Jennifer ish (although Jennifer is just another form of Genevieve, so I guess that makes sense) and Gennie looks too much like Genie to me - sorry!

I hope the quiet posters will have good news for us soon!

Dilly sorry to hear you have protein issues :( good luck collecting all that wee though.

Bionic glad to hear you've got a wriggler, mine's decided to suddenly get active as well. I'm hoping he's warming up for the final descent :o

SilverSky · 08/10/2010 20:12

Yay for new babies! sea another lovely name picked!!

sam thx for doing that list - makes for very interesting reading.

Another manic day, have managed an involuntary nap. I have not managed any chores today and I don't care! So sue me

I am in my jim jams back on the sofa watching a cookery programme which is making me hungry. I have eaten four out of the six muffins. Also had another slice of Ginger cake today. The muffins Inhad two today and two yday so I am not that much of a greedy guts. Honest.

Bump feels like it has grown. It's getting to point where I am getting stuck in bed. Bit of an art getting out!!!! ESP at 3am when I need the loo and HI is soundo when I could do with a winch gentle push to get the momentum.

DillyDora · 08/10/2010 20:35

BTW totally forgot to get myself on the stats list, do I add to the original one or the nice new listy? Here I am on the boys list...

Hermya321 · 08/10/2010 20:47

Dilly I hope that the next twenty four hours are good ones (in terms of urine) and that you get the birth you want.

Silver Muffins are an excellent form of energy that is very very specific to labour, it's ironic that eton mess and thorntons chocolate is a good source of this energy as well (this is my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

Ooooo I hope Abfab is ok.

Bouncing on the ball and eating chocolate.

37+4

SilverSky · 08/10/2010 21:20

Hermy you bring news of great joy with your diet tips. Is it crass to scoff meringue nests? I've nothing to pt on them tho. I think perhaps a decaff coffee and a scone slice of Ginger cake may be the answer.

I am lucky in that I have no probs sleeping. Apart from the odd bout of insomnia for the most part when I am asleep I am getting quality sleep which is good. HI says the baby is very active when I am asleep and I am lucky that s/he does not keep me awake. Of course that can change at any time!

dilly my EDD is 18th, tho I think that junior will arrive on 21st. Again, it could be any day now!!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 08/10/2010 21:32

Thank you everyone, v happy :)

Not exactly textbook birth. 33hrs labour, nearly had my dream water birth but everything stopped nearing transition, and could only be restarted with epidural and oxytocin stuff! Went from dilated and nearly there to 5cm and contractions slowing right down. Sodding MS! Dd (Grin) was perfect throughout thank goodness.

Lots of congratulations to nymph - Love Matilda :)

Exhausted, so off to bedski!

DillyDora · 08/10/2010 21:37

OK, can we please stop talking about sweet things! I have just had to brush my teeth so I don't eat anymore! I absolutely flew at DH earlier, he'd finished the chocolate biscuits and not replaced them!!!!!!! OOoohh, I got shouty....

SilverSky · 08/10/2010 21:44

Scone-GAH iPhone for slice!!

The cake and coffee are now in my tum tum. I am fighting the urge to go round and complain to next door about the racket they are making. However divine retribution will be my newborn screaming in the early hours in the weeks to come which will hopefully be more than adequate payback.

DillyDora · 08/10/2010 21:51

heh heh silver you are eeeeeevil... I thought it really was a ginger scone, I was quite excited at the thought...

BionicEar · 08/10/2010 22:33

Silver - that made me laugh out loud! They do say revenge is sweet don't they?!

Dilly - close your eyes as I am about to share that I have just scoffed a Lyons Lemon cup cake - was very yummy! Smile Ok you can open your eyes again!

Yesterday my lovely friend who lives across the road helped me to indulged in "nesting syndrome" by helping me tackle the oven with "Oven Pride" - was gob-smacked at how efficient it was and a tad scared by how much grime it has! Ladies if you've not used this product - can highly recommended it - I was very sceptical about how efficient it would be, but it is!

Had to laugh earlier when another friend little one felt my bump this morning when they were visiting and then went over to her Mum and asked if her Mum had a baby in her tummy whilst lifting her top up to have a feel! Grin

Am hoping to have a decent night sleep as could do with one, as feel pretty shattered. Want to have enough energy to try and go to NCT sale tomorrow and for a Thanksgiving party in the eve.

Tyson86 · 08/10/2010 22:43

Nymph and seashells massive congrats to you both and welcome Matilda and Imogen, lovely names :)
