Congratulations Nymph and welcome Matilda :) glad to hear she'e feeding well.

Sassie and moonstorm my midwife suggested a sweep for next week too - I'm really unsure about it. Really hoping it all kicks off before then so I don't have to make a decision Confused

Samantha and Sam thanks for the reassurance re threshold! Dh is a secondary teacher. Originally he thought he needed evidence etc, but the management at his school have said that they base it on observations during the M6 year, and put them through the year after (it's an academy, so that may be why?). As long as they're not stopping people going through we're happy!

Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep :)

Hermya321 · 07/10/2010 22:12

Congratulations Nymph!!!

I saw my friends 2 day old baby today, she was so so cute. I've come home and am feeling pretty low at the moment, I just want my LO here. I'm fed up of being pregnant.

Well lets face it, I expect all of us are.

I watched a bit more of Lord Huttons report on the news, I've had to turn it off as he was making me so so mad. I can't believe it, the report was comparing a scheme in a factory to that of some teachers. They were paying over 6.5% into their pensions, the factory workers pay 2.5% and they were complaining. I know some public sector workers who are paying over 10-11% into theirs and Lord Hutton wants them to pay more. Fricking idiot!!! I'd love to see him go into a classroom or work all the hours God sends for crappy pay. Angry

sam12 · 07/10/2010 22:38

Fingon glad he'll be ok to go through- I'm secondary too and was pretty sure that people were still ok to go thru. To be honest I didn't pay much attention when I was asked and just passed them onto someone else knowing I would be on maternity!

Congrats nymph glad it all went well and love the name was on my list as well.

Hope u not in too much pain abfab sounds like you are nice and relaxed.

Had my first contraction earlier and feeling a bit achy and tired. So off to bed and hoping it will hold off at least another day or two- my sil is comingt to help me start unpacking in the morning and dh is going to put the central heating on and finish the kitchen. So am thinking will be ready on Sunday plus the benefit of great date of birth-if that's ok lo?

Hoping u all sleep well

39+3

Ooh congrats Nymph and hello Matilda. another great name. Another girl, bet your dds will love having a little dolly sister.

I'm still not quite believing that we're all having Nantes, even though I have mine already. Is it the tiredness do you think?? Seems like a moment ago we were struggling to get through the first trimrster!

floozietoozie · 07/10/2010 22:55

Nantes??? iPhone for babies!

shieldbug · 07/10/2010 23:01

AbFab Thinking of you and hoping things really get going soon. Hope you enjoy prison break and it manages to take your mind off things for a while. good luck!

seashells any news? Hope everything went/is going well.

Xavielli · 08/10/2010 07:58

Congrats Nymph Lovely name and I bet she's gorgeous!

Hope all those contracting are also dilating!

SamanthaB123 · 08/10/2010 09:17

Morning everyone!

Congratulations Nymph - Matilda is a lovely name. I'm really glad that it went well.

Any news from anyone else? SeaShells - where are you?!

Still plodding on with niggles and random contractions. May have lost part of my mucas plug this morning - {look away now, TMI alert!} I felt fluid leaving my body while sitting in bed. When I went to the loo it wasn't the same colour as the discharge that I've had during pregnancy. It was much darker and...not bloody but there might have been traces of blood in it. Nothing much else to report though. Hope all well and we produce loads of babyie today!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 08/10/2010 09:21

Congratulations nymph. Fab name.

Any more news?

Haven't we got a lot of girls? Must be due a run of boys now.

Morning!

CONGRATULATIONS to Nymph and love the name, Matilda is what I would have chosen had I been having a girl.

OK, am at work for final half day, off to teach in a bit.... but need some advice as I'm a first timer... so, have had all this BP malarky but still, also been having funny on and off period pains the last couple of days, pooping for England, feeling sick on and off (like now, I think I might be sick) and this morning walking from the tube this feeling of almighty BH, like my womb was the heaviest, tightest thing and might fall off/out, really made me want to stop in the street... it keeps happening...is that anything or nothing?! It doesn't exactly hurt, it's just a very very strong feeling. Feel quite tearful (especially as I'm thinking I should have stayed at home!)... thoughts?

cheekymonkeyno3 · 08/10/2010 09:31

How lovely Nymph congratulations i'm so pleased things went well.

it's been such a long week surrounded in boxes but can't wait to finally be moving tomorrow. baby needs to stay put for a little while yet so we can sort things out and settle in. only 37 weeks tho so hopefully it will.

good luck to everyone in early stages - how exciting!! :o

tiredfeet · 08/10/2010 09:38

congratulations nymph!!! hope you are enjoying lots of cuddles with baby Matilda. lovely name. I bet your daughters are delighted about the new arrival Smile

dilly hopefully you will get some answers from people who know more about this soon. I think I would be feeling like you and not sure what to do. I am sure your work will understand though if you have second thoughts and want to go home.

right, got to go on a housework mission, we've got family staying this weekend (even though its my due date!). No signs of baby wanting to make an exit though, so I have a busy weekend of meeting friends and stuff planned

tiredfeet · 08/10/2010 09:39

oooh forgot to say hope everything goes well for you abfab and that things progress nice and quickly Smile

ILoveGregoryHouse · 08/10/2010 09:39

Dilly, that's how I feel. It won't be long now.

Hermya321 · 08/10/2010 09:39

Dilly If the pains keep coming at regular intervals then I think you might be in early labour. It might be worth giving your MW a quick ring?

Abfab How you doing?

SamB I had that yesterday, I wasn't quite so sure if it was part of the regular run of the mill discharge. I'm still not sure, but as Abfab had yesterday it could be a while before things get started as her MW said.

Not much to report from me, my sister is coming up. I'm sure the words, 'you're fat now' will feature in conversation somewhere. Hmm

cheekymonkeyno3 · 08/10/2010 09:52

Dilly sounds like early stages to me. try and get as much rest as possible, easier said then done i know!

SamanthaB123 · 08/10/2010 10:06

Dilly - It sounds a lot like the beginning of labour to me. You never know how long labour will take so this could go on for ages, days even. Alternately things could progress much more quickly. If it were me, I'd feel happier at home but that is a very personal choice. See how you get on and if the same feelings continue.

Heryma - I haven't had anything since. I just feel like things are moving in the right direction at the moment. I don't feel that the baby will be born today.

Hermya321 · 08/10/2010 10:33

I found this thread about Seashells.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 08/10/2010 10:52

Morning all! I'm having bfing snuggles with a very gorgeous 9lb little girl called Imogen :) it's been a long journey and will post when I don't have mw popping in and out- was born this morning in time for breakfast :) xxx

Xavielli · 08/10/2010 11:14

Congrats Seashells!!

Vikks · 08/10/2010 11:21

Amazing news SeaShells! Enjoy your snuggles x

BackAgain · 08/10/2010 11:21

Congratulations seashells one of my fav names!

Dilly like others have said this could be it but there is no way of knowing how long it will take, hope all is ok

lilmissmummy · 08/10/2010 11:31

congratulations Seashells, I have a cousin called Imogen so I think it is a great name!! :) looking forward to hearing all about it! What a lovely weight too!

Dilly sounds like the start of labour to me too. With my ds I had that start at around lunch time on the Sunday and then ds was born on the Tuesday morning early on. Keep an eye on the timings and if they are regular and getting closer then I would go home. you dont know how quickly/ slowly you will progress though so keep an eye on it.

So exciting that we are all getting so close. Who is going to bag the precious 10/10/10 and 20/10/2010??

seashells congratulations! Sounds like you had a marathon time of it. Welcome Imogen, another great name choice.

Dilly The heavy feeling may be due to the head being fully engaged, which also increases the pressure on the bowels and hence the frequent pooping! The period pains sounds like this LO is eager to make his appearance, so you may not get a very long mat leave before you are also enjoying newborn snuggles!

I had pains in the bottom of my bump in the night and hoped that this might be the start of something, but they have faded now. I was just thinking, this must be the only time when we actually want to feel pain! Has anybody else had pains like this (not really a period pain, more like trapped wind(!))? Might it be a sign? (Hopeful emoticon!)
Oh my goodness, my bump has just produced an audible pop! Sadly not waters breaking but sproglet is doing something strange in there!
