Hello everyone - I have a baby girl! Grin Grin Grin

Born in the wee hours of Friday, 8 pounds 10 ounces in a very positive (dare I say "easy"?) 9 hour labour.

She is the most beautiful creature on the planet. When do the 3 wise men turn up to pass homage?

SkaterGrrrrl · 05/09/2010 19:25

pay, rather.

Stupid one handed typing!

Muser · 05/09/2010 19:27

YAAAAY! Congrats Skater, lovely news. You are such a queue jumper though!

SkaterGrrrrl · 05/09/2010 19:33

I know :)

This baby couldnt wait to be out! Got to hospital at 10pm and lovely midwife said she went off at 8 so probably wouldnt get to meet the baby. Went from 4 cm to 8 cm in about an hour and baby born just before 4am!

Did I mention that she is beautiful? Grin

SilverSky · 05/09/2010 19:33

Massive congrats on skatergirlthesecond!!!!

Pink gin fizz all round Grin

Headbanger · 05/09/2010 20:20

Oh congrats Skater! She really got her skates on eh, eh?! Fabulous news. Something in my eye... Grin

Backinthebox · 05/09/2010 20:20

Congratulations Skater I knew you'd be next Wink.

Lucky for me I didn't lay a baby this afternoon as OH went off to cricket and forgot to make proper arrangements to have his phone picked up if I rang. He says he mentioned it to the score book keeper, but probably omitted to mention the reasons behind him needing his phone answered!

I have become an obsessive knicker-checker after my MW asked if I was getting any gunky bits like a show. That's probably TMI Grin

RunLyraRun · 05/09/2010 20:20

Hurray for Skates and the Skatette! An easy labour, that sounds right up my street! Many, many congratulations to you and Skaterboi xx

CluckyKate · 05/09/2010 20:24

CONGRATS and huge hugs to SkaterMum and BabySkates. Of course she is beautiful - how could she not be? Wink

Glad it all went smoothly. Am over the moon for you all XXXX

ginhag · 05/09/2010 20:43

Also...forgot to say well done muse! Well I said it on fb but not here. So... Well done! :)

rollerbaby · 05/09/2010 20:54

WOOOOHOOOOOOOO for skaterbabe!!! Fabulous news and cannot wait to see pictures. Looking forward to hearing more details when you are ready. I'd like a birf like that pleeeze.

Congrats Muse on running the 5K. Fuck me it's impressive. As I have said on many occasions, running up 3 sets of escalators fucked my groin muscles for weeks so you have my TOTAL respect.

Silver feel your pain on dawg issues. Little hairy one has been a right pain today but cannot blame him - it's up to us to train him. He desperately tries, but cos he's little has no concentration span whatsoever so it takes massive patience.

Box and Cos will you please get a move on now?? :)

Friend has just delivered her scary looking electric Medela pump. Looks horrific.

Also just got much wanted wedding invite for 20th November!!! Baby due 31st October. Will I be able to go???!!!

Muser · 05/09/2010 20:59

Fanks gin and moo.

Sadly moo, I think I have fucked my groin muscle. My right inner thigh really hurts and I am limping a bit. Luckily I had already planned to work from home tomorrow so do not need to walk anywhere.

Medee · 05/09/2010 21:10

ouch!

rollerbaby · 05/09/2010 21:15

Oh no, bloody hell that sounds like EXACTLY what I did. Bizarrely just posted the 3 exercises my physio gave me to do on my November antenatal thread. If you want to give them a go it really worked for me. Seriously - after about a week. Probably give it a few days but if you find it doesn't improve (as I didn't) and gets stiffer, these exercises basically stretch all round your pelvis and help ALOT.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1028268?pagingOff=1#21177448

Exercises 1 and 2 are the best ones, and then you basically need to stretch your arse muscles as much as possible as well, so hanging off anything and bending over works too. Let me know if this doesn't make sense.

This is what made me whinge to work and get cabs in and out every day which helped, and also careful on stairs. PLEASE take it easy...

Muser · 05/09/2010 21:26

Thanks, I will take a look at the exercises.

I have done something similar when not pregnant so am seriously hoping it clears up soon. I am currently icing it. Much to MrM's amusement.

Backinthebox · 05/09/2010 21:37

Well, I'm hoping that Skates has started the ball rolling for a few days of rollercoaster excitement. Someone had to do it - and with my family history of hanging on to babies for as long as possible it wasn't likely to be me Grin. My dad is calling on an annoyingly frequent basis to see if I've had the baybee yet. What does he think, that we'll tell everyone else and not him? Given that he has 3 kids of his own and 3 grandchildren who have to date notched up and impressive 83 days of lateness between us, you'd think he would be a bit more patient!

Ouch for groin strain, btw.

I have had a little love letter from big horse today. Apparently he loves his new owner, his new fieldmate and his new life. He has been filmed for the BBC today, jumping fences. And his owner is still over the moon with him - bless! (New owner is a 50-something yo bloke with a false hip who wanted something big and impressive but not scary. We'll see if he's still over the moon with him after his first day hunting Blush It's usually just the one buck.....) I'm very pleased to hear from him though.

Backinthebox · 05/09/2010 21:40

BTW Gingers have you seen the most discussed thread of the day? I don't get why anyone would want hair to be any other colour! Ginger is where it's at - DD and I are both gingers, me a bit of a boring one, but DD came out with a shock of flame red hair and right now it is waist length Titian curls. Fabulous! I wonder if the ginger-knockers know they could end up pissing off the PESHes Grin

FannyPriceless · 05/09/2010 21:53

Congrats skater!!Grin And yay for another girl.Smile Well done. You are the closest we have to a straightforward, on due date birth!

CluckyKate · 05/09/2010 22:03

Oooh - will the big hoss be on the telly then Box????

Mightily impressed with the running Muse but think you must be completely bonkers Confused. Hope the injury sorts itself out soon.
Have managed to do something funny to me left hip - been giving me jip for couple of months now Sad - & suspect I need to wait 'til this baby is laid before it gets fixed. Ho hum...

As for you gingers....blimey - takes a v. brave (or stupid) person to take you lot on.

Back on the bra topic - am a loyal M&S fan but was v. disappointed with the lack of support on their maternity bras last time round so am sticking to my under-wired ones for now (but won't squeeze into them for much longer). Is the extra investment on t'other brands worth it???

CluckyKate · 05/09/2010 22:15

Oh, and Yay for Caroline Powell & Lenamore at Burghley.....big thumbs-up for the older dobbins too.

Any idea what breed of dog was shown chasing Hannah Kirkhill on camera. Totally inexcusable but am curious as shows remarkable resemblance to our mutt, who given the chance would've done exactly the same
