Casserole · 09/09/2010 15:20

Oh Muse Sad

Go home as soon as you feel able. Glad you've got the docs tomorrow.

reginaMonologue · 09/09/2010 16:22

boxy fab birth story! I must say I do like your 4 hour duration, I'm not sure about the aftermath though... stingy!

silver I can't advise on bum grapes, I haz been tres good and eating my bowl of crunch bran every morning along with a banana - most essential when on iron tablets. Have also found a plethora of magazines in the loo help the urge to push because of bordom! What is news on pooch? Have you hidden the razor blades? Our dog went through a stage of peeing in house when my updiffment became obvious to him, has since stopped but they do know you know...

clucky good advice on Tena Pee Lady pads - I admit today I bought enough to probably make the cashier think I was preparing for a flood of biblical proportions

Stiffy welcome lots and more, the PESHs are a fine bunch and will see you right with a slap and a shot of gin in no time!

perDom yoga teacher pleb sounds like a prick. I have noticed everyone has an opinion on pregnancy, even if it's not their pregnancy! I have since invested in de nile ear plugs and a "lahlalalala" hat and ignore most of it, if I didn't I'd be in prison now for tw@tting someone about the face because I'm fed up of hearing it!

muser coughing clots can't be fun, go see MW or GP and say "Oi, sort me out innit" or something. I hate having snot at the back of my throut, let alone blood boogiers!

swits i had the poops just the other day - but only 1 day of it. It started as soon as I got up and carried on until there was nothing left to poop (about 7 visits to bog in total). I think it was a bug I picked up from my preggo buddy who visited at the weekend and went through same thing. I vote you got see quack though, and keep your fluid levels up.

mooomare the test was tits - I was famished by the time I got there, got pricked, got force fed, waited an hour, got pricked again, then the stupid "league of friends" cafe opened up and taunted me for another our, then I got pricked again and told I'd be rung if there was a problem, otherwise not to worry (meh, I've had that told me before and got the call...). Anyway, trying not to think about it. Was quite funny as there was a nice queue of us meaty chicks there all in for the same thing, twas like something out of a comedy sketch. I am also starting hippobirthing classes end of this month, am excited as hopefully will be useful beyond labour, we have spoilt ourselves with private sessions - Mr. Monologue isn't good at meet and greet and he wouldn't do it right if he felt like he was on show with other couples!

Oh btw, Mothercare have an offer on the crappy nappy sack bins (tommy tippee ones) - 1 bin and 6 cartridges for 32 squid. I has got 2, one for upstairs and one for downstairs.

rollerbaby · 09/09/2010 16:56

oh reggie great minds and all that... I haz also bought the very same nappy bin. BUT not 2!

silver I have to differ with reggie on this. Don't sit on loo for ages. The more pressure you put on the blood vessels in your arse, the worse it could get. If no show, get off and wait for later. there's only 1 way out!!! ahahahahah.

Veggies and porridge and a well timed coffee are your friends. I find if my diet goes to shit (literally) it does start to get a bit more tense down there.

clucky yes good advice on tena lady, although there is no fucking way I am buying any of that shiz yet. I will keep changing my knick knicks instead! I am only 34 surely is 30 years too soon? Funny though when I went into delivery suite the other night for leaking check, I took my pants in with me thinking they would want to look. I practically forced the doctor to look but she didn't in the end. Har har.

rollerbaby · 09/09/2010 16:58

reggie have you started thinking about announcement cards yet? Grin

SilverSky · 09/09/2010 18:43

Fanks sympathetic ones. Quite frankly my arse is sore. I am not sure if I haz the grapes. Him Indoors refuses to look and says it's the mw's job to check that out . I don't think I have been straining (tmi??) however my flatulence haz been uber nuclear. Could that have done it????

Waiting to hear verdict about mutt. All very strange. Literally bloody hand fed it this morning. Something ain't right. Plus when dog tries to cuddle Me I have to make sure dog doesn't whack my bump as likes to lay across me.

Just realised I have sooooo much to do at work before I leave in two weeks time. Arse arse arse.

rollerbaby · 09/09/2010 20:05

What's happened with your doggy? Has he been to the vet today? Hope he is ok, so sad when dogs feel poorly. :(

PerfectDromedary · 09/09/2010 21:34

Hope you're feeling better, muserina.

Medee · 09/09/2010 21:49

no good comes of going into the Baby Names threads.

PollyPoo · 09/09/2010 22:19

Oh dear MeDear, what did you do? Grin

Good luck tomorrow at the quacks Muse. I sincerely hope you do not have a repeat of today. Ever. Sounds ghastly. I hope you got home ok, pref without any more puking and/or bleeding.

Honey glad to hear you are taking it easy.

Silver how did it go at the vets?

Muser · 09/09/2010 22:22

I got home ok. Puked twice more at home. I have had half a piece of bread with some dairylea and an ice lolly. I hope they stay down. Ice lollies are great when you feel sick.

But I am all packed and ready for holidays. I really hope today was a one off, but will see what the docs do tomorrow.

OP posts:
PollyPoo · 09/09/2010 22:25

Hells teeth Muse, you poor love. Sad Hope the doc can give you lots of lovely drugs to ensure maximum holiday enjoyment. Bring us back something nice?!

SilverSky · 09/09/2010 22:52

Mutt has gone on hunger strike and for about a week or so has been knobbing about with "I might eat I might not". Him Indoors gets concerned so made vets appt. Vet gave dawg clean bill of health and made te comment " so you advocate a raw diet " and I hope Him Indoors said " yeah - you wanna make something of it! ". Vets have no idea bout the hunger strike and said it could be partly to do with me but to keep an eye on things. Personally I would have gone Down the if dog leaves food, food gets taken away and represented at next meal and this is repeated. No k9 will knowingly starve itself. FACT.

Went to NCT. Was ok. Think there is one couple who are "like us" who we may click with. The others are very nice just not us IYSWIM. Tho as time goes on our opinion may completely change however if we are going on first impressions....... Him Indoors was hoping I think to meet more like minded people.

muser soz to hear you are still pukesville. If the dr won't help you, puke on his shoes.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 10/09/2010 07:11

Hi all - still here! Am finding ml is whizzing past and all the little jobs I thought I'd get done are taking forever/curtailed by aching back or need to nap. Nearly all my NCT group have had early babies and though I have over a week left I am starting to feel very behind.

Loved Ski's predictions though - 4 days over would be most convenient!

Who said "bumgrapes"? Mine have come back. Well, they didn't go, just stopped hurting. Think the weight of Clint on my bits is taking its toll, and I haven't even pushed yet.

Muse hope you feel better for your hols you poor thing.

Honey are you awaiting gd results? - I've managed to lose track.

Eclairs for everyone today! (with Apols if I've missed stuff) (again)

MrsFC · 10/09/2010 08:02

Morning all! Hope you have a lovely holiday Muse and yesterday was a one off. I have my 20 week scan today, Im absolutely terrified and incredibly excited, is this normal?? I hope so!

In other news, it looks like the FC is being made redundant from the job he's loved for 12 years. Bastards are treating him really badly too. Makes me say the C word...

PollyPoo · 10/09/2010 08:13

Say it say it MrsFC you know it will make you feel better. Grin Bummer about the job, I hope he gets some clarification on it soon, not to mention brand new job with extra money and perks. That'd show 'em.

Hello VAG, only a week to go, yay! Have you still got lots to do?

In other news, we are considering moving. Next month. Eek - I will be around 6.5/7 months duffed IF it all goes ahead. A house has come up for rent that I fell in love with about a year ago - we went to view but TG was being a pain in the arse about the extra rent and fact his employer kept dicking him around over payrise. Turns out he was right as it took a year of doing the job before he got the money... Anyway, I couldn't sleep last night for excitement, despite promising myself that I wouldn't get ahead of myself and risk the crushing disappointment of last year again. Epic FAIL!

Sorry to hear about mutt Silv. I take it vet couldn't find anything wrong with him? Our dog also does the 'trying to lie across the baybee' thing. She is 3 stone and it is not bloody comfortable.

How is everyone else today?

Casserole · 10/09/2010 08:44

Thinking of you this morning Muse ; hope the Doc is helpful.

Casserole · 10/09/2010 08:48

I'm all a bit pukey and weepy this morning. It's ok though. I'll live. It's Friday.

LadyGG, who posted here a while back, is having a bit of a nightmare over in Le Palais Sad

Pollster I am excited by your moving news. Tell us more, tell us more....

MrsFC · 10/09/2010 09:37

Ooh, moving is exciting, I have all things crossed that it works out this time, the fact that you've had to wait cor it will make it all the sweeter! Glad MrP finally got his payrise, doesn't it make you furious when they are treated like that...

Oh Cass, sorry you are blue. I have days like that, and I feel so guilty because this is all I wanted! I blame the hormones. Rent The Champ on DVD tonight and have a good cry, get it out of your system xxx

Medee · 10/09/2010 09:58
Muser · 10/09/2010 10:05

I cried all over the doctor. I am apparently very dehydrated. I have cyclizine. I also have 8 hours to drink and keep it down, or I will be in hospital on a drip this evening, rather than on a plane to Greece.

So I am at home, sipping water and praying.

OP posts:
PerfectDromedary · 10/09/2010 10:12

Aw, Muse. That is rubbish. Hope the water stays down and Greece happens.

MrsFC What is this redundancy crap? Is it definite? Or just being mooted?

Pols New house! Whee! I was working in real suburbia for a couple of days this week and I got terrifying house envy. Where is my aga and stone-flagged kitchen?

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 10/09/2010 10:20

Exciting about the house move Pol - hope it works out! Would be fabulous. Hope the visit goes well.

Good luck MrsFC! I'm sure the scan will be great. The 20 wk scan is a bit nerve-wracking with all that slow scrutiny of the baby's body parts, but great to get a good look at him/her. I got loads of printouts too, though the sonographer seemed to have no sense of what kind of pics we might like, so presented us with close-ups of the baby's spine, nostrils and bits! Nice to have them, but hard to coo over them adoringly...

Cheer up cass - at least it's Friday! Just a few more hours and you can hit the sofa or meet up with your OH for a good fight and get it all out of your system! Actually a nice cry is necessary sometimes. The puking is not so great...

Muse hope the doc can sort you out with the necessary! Have a wonderful blood and puke free holiday.

Honey - I have begun planning baby annoucement cards . THough I concede that they are a bit less useful to the baby than nappy bins...

I have been following what's going on with ladyGG over in the palais. So very very sorry that this shit is happening to you. Sad Thinking of you lots.

Vag can't believe you are so close now. Sounds like you are right out of de Nile - must be a strange feeling!

We visited our hospital mat ward and delivery suite last night. It was nice and it felt good to see it and get a feel for how things will go. It is a "baby friendly" hospital and I think they do a lot of things right, though I was slightly taken aback that they don't wash the baby for a day or two as the vernix is good for them apparently! Lovely greasy baby. Anyway, I am still glad to be going there with an independent midwife, as once you are at the pushing stage, they insist you get up on the bed and into the stirrups so that the doc can come in and deliver the baby. I know that this will not be an issue with the midwives. By going with them, I opt out of the hospital model of care unless there should be some sort of emergency or unless I decide I need an epidural.

reginaMonologue · 10/09/2010 10:32

moodles I hadn't thought about announcement cards, but had thought about thank you letters for any gifts received and how an excel spreadsheet may come in handy since my memory is shot atm! Do let us know how your GT results turn out! I have to wait 2 weeks for mine when I see my consultant - boo!

mrsFC good luck with your scan! Sorry to hear about MrFC redundancy - had a similar situation myself a year or so ago, and so far it has been the best thing that happened to me - last employer was a kn0b (as an understatment).

muser chin up lady - i hope the drugs do work and you get your feta, calamari and ouzo toboot.

poo good luck on the possible move - do it now while you still can!

I have had to ring my midwife today (this is not an easy thing for me to do since I'm not much of the same ilk as her) due to my groinal issues. Has anyone else had a stabbing pain in the foof? Well if feels like the foof but higher up. I am hoping she'll tell me its a mild case of PGP or SPD and nothing more sinister than that

Muser · 10/09/2010 10:38

Aargh. MrM is wondering if we should just cancel the holiday even if I manage not to puke today. He is worried about what will happen if I get sick on tiny Greek island.

OP posts:
PerfectDromedary · 10/09/2010 10:49

Tell MrM that there are probably other women who get sick on tiny Greek islands and there will be some way of dealing with it if is an emergency. I would think that some sunshine and lying down will do you the world of good - much better than cancelling hollibobs. Just make sure your travel insurance covers you for preggoness in case something does happen.
